The property is clean, well-equipped, with a perfect back deck for relaxation. Highly recommended for a peaceful stay.

Charming older Adobe home, clean, quiet, and close to coffee shop, grocery, and close to Big Ben, nice place to watch the stars

This little place was so warm and welcoming, it exceeded our expectations. It is a traditional construction, that’s not what sets it apart, it is just so perfectly appointed and clean. We got this place because the Gage was sold out, but when we come back next I think we’ll just stay here, even if we can get a room at the Gage!

We enjoyed our stay! Will stay again.

Couldn't be happier over our stay. Everything was just as presented. The house was clean and well equipped. The back deck was perfect for us in the evenings. Highly recommend and will return when we make our next pilgrimage to Big Ben.

The property was very clean and organized well. The outdoor sitting areas are a special treat to relax and enjoy sunsets.

Charming property. Clean. Comfortable. We drove into Big Bend each day of our stay, and although the drive in was a bit longer than ideal, there are limited accommodations inside the park. And the drive was gorgeous in any event. The town is tiny as well, but we found reasonably priced places for breakfast and dinner in lieu of the main hotel restaurant which was quite expensive (but tasty).

We went to west TX to see the solar eclipse of 2024. Though clouds restricted our view in Brackettville, where we drove to see the event, this beautiful casita more than made our journey amazing. We loved everything about the town and our home away from home! The casita is clean, spacious, and comfortably appointed. So many good memories after only 2 days stay. The owners took extra effort to return a few belongings that we absentmindedly left behind. We were so grateful for their thoughtfulness! We are looking forward to another stay, sitting in the backyard, and seeing that beautiful night sky! A million thanks!

Such a wonderful surprise as the pictures don’t really tell how charming this place is. So clean, well appointed and thought out! 5 Stars for sure!

I don’t think the pictures do this place justice. The bed is so cozy and comfortable, the living space and dining area is perfect and the kitchen has everything you would need to cook. Bathroom has all the soaps/shampoo needed. The outside is so fun to hang out. We spend Mew Years Day relaxing in the sun out back. I would recommend bringing food with you, the grocery store there is very limited.

Where to begin. I booked a last minute (literally 1 day before arrival) trip to Big Bend. The owner responded with minutes and allowed for a Christmas stay. My husband and I brought my 79yr old father who just absolutely loved the place. The space is decorated beautifully with Mexican charm and all the old west vibes. I loved that they opted for no TV and wifi because it allowed for us to actually visit. Everything is so close by! There is a very nice restaurant nearby. We were approximately 40 miles north of Big Bend. We rented a jeep and took an off road excursion! I highly recommend. This vacation was a 10/10! This place had everything we needed! The owners were very responsive. My dad may never make it back out there but this was truly a trip for the books. I will definitely be returning. A true gem hidden in West Texas.

We arrived early and immediately we were allowed to check-in. I think the picture’s really don’t do the place justice. This house was so cute and so conveniently located to all our festivities. If I am ever ever in Marathon again I would for sure stay here.

Take videos and computer for night time entertainment. Marathon Texas is close to Alpine, Big Bend National Park and Ft Davis and Griffith observatory. Huge Vast area. Worth the stay. Would like to visit again.

Loved our little three-night interlude at the Terrazas casita. It was clean, comfortable and so very quiet. We so enjoyed all the creative, homey, quirky, artistic and colorful southwest touches from the hand painted Mexican tiles to the outside patio and yard decor- well done! It made it fun and relaxing. Nearness to the Gage Gardens was an added surprise.

Inside was clean, comfortable, and worry free. Kitchen and bath areas were excellent. Patio and yard was pleasant with great views of sky, stars, and birds. Check in/out was simple for first time VRBO user. Very relaxing place to stay. Cell phone coverage good if needed. Marathon offered a great park, quiet neighborhoods for daily walks, and home base for Big Bend daily trips.

Very cute small house. Very clean, well-equipped with all amenities that could be needed in kitchen, bathroom, bedroom. King-sized bed was very comfortable. Large covered back porch had table and chairs for eating and two padded chairs for star watching at night and coffee drinking in the morning. Two a/c window units kept the house cool. Good water pressure in shower.

Older converted structure. Clearly a labor of love for whoever decorated the house and back yard. Very well stocked. Comfortable. Highly recommended.

I'm a Vrbo employee who has been traveling to Marathon for years. The Terrazas Adobe has now become one of my favorites to stay at when I am in the area! This home is beautiful, comfortable, and I loved the personal touches! I appreciated that the home is unplugged (no TV or WiFi) so that I could truly relax while visiting. Thank you, Tom and Liz, for a wonderful stay. I can't wait to come back!

This is a great place. We had events in Alpine to attend (Texas Cowboy Poetry Gathering) and wanted to spend a couple days exploring Big Bend NP. This was the perfect spot. Easy walk to the French Market for groceries and morning breakfast tacos. Also easy evening stroll to the Brewery too. The host, Tom, is excellent. He quickly responded to all my questions and helped us out with a hair dryer. The house was very comfy on the cold nights using the heaters and the bed had plenty of pillows and blankets too. We wanted to use the stove outside to hang out and relax but ended up too late at the local places instead. Super relaxing and will book here again when coming to this part of Texas.

A super jumping off point for our first time to Big Bend! The home was perfect, had everything we needed and was charmingly decorated. The hosts were responsive, check in and out a breeze, We were comfortable and cozy after long days of hiking. Thank you for a great trip!

The house was well equipped, and comfy! We spent most of our time at the national park 60 miles away, but it was great to come back to a comfy bed, and a nice kitchen.

This is a hidden gem in a small quiet town at the Gateway to Big Bend. The yard is filled with eclectic details. The porch has great seating and there’s a carport in the back. The home is lovely with terra cotta tile floors and so many great decor details. There is a Cali king bed that’s very comfy. We made Xmas dinner there and there was everything I needed. It is off grid though so no TV or internet. But that was fine with us. We spent nights watching the amazing sky. Such a cool and cozy place to stay! We will be back soon!!

Perfect for the 3 of us. Has a great vibe. Nice, open kitchen. Step outside and take in the starry nights!

It was sick! Being that there were no photos of the kitchen it was a great surprise to walk into. Definitely recommend if you're gonna be in the area.
We'll for sure be back again!
Thanks for letting us stay for the weekend!

We really enjoyed our stay! Easy check in & out. Very clean & well decorated. Unlike others it didn’t bother us that it was one bathroom on the other side of the house, it was to be expected in an older home. Beautiful back yard and patio & very spacious inside as well. We will definitely be back again!
5.0 / 5.0
Everything we needed for our 3 night stay and visit to Big Bend was here. We especially enjoyed the back yard area with patio, fireplace, grill, grass for our pup, and great view of mountains and stars! The kitchen was fully equipped and was a great space to cook, hang out, and eat. The location is an hour away from the park if that's what you are doing, so plan to do quite a bit of driving including going through Border Patrol just outside of town. The town's little grocery was nice and even bakes good pizza if you don't want to cook. We really enjoyed our stay and looked forward to coming "home" each evening.
