The inside of the property is nice for a group of adults, with comfortable seating and plenty of dining space. The upholstered furniture could use a cleaning, and the carpet is due for replacement. However, the kitchen is well-stocked, clean, and in working order.
The balconies are great, but the outdoor furniture must be cleaned or covered before use. Given the picture on the website, I was disappointed with the proximity of the buildings around the property. The overgrown vegetation surrounding the property could be an excellent asset to the house if attended to properly.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and took full advantage of the proximity to excellent coffee and food. We also enjoyed the vintage thrift stores and, of course, the ocean.

Kitchen well stocked. Lots of fun stuff to do, close by. Kids loved playing in the very safe backyard. We used the decks a lot to listen to the frogs, play games etc. Easy parking for a 4th car.
Very private and quiet. Virtually no neighbors. Staff was responsive and helpful, but did not hover over us.
Games and movies are very oudated. Bring your own. Also laundry and dishwashing supplies are very limited. You’ll have to buy more.
The lower rating is ONLY because of the beds. They are really awful. None of the adults were sleeping well. (The kids were fine.) Even the 2 kings are lumpy and probably 20+ years old.
We will happily come back again, if the beds are replaced
Overall,it was a great family vacay, in spite of the beds.

This house is awesome. Truly a professional vacation rental - it is well stocked throughout and set up for a variety of different visitors. Very close to downtown Cayucos (3 min walk) with plenty of space for lounging inside and out. Cannot recommend enough!

The house is awesome!

The house is really big since it sleeps 12 in 5 bedrooms. With 4 bathrooms it was really a lot for 5 people but we loved having so much space. It is very comfortable and nice views of the ocean. Close to everything we wanted to do. It has plenty of dishes and cooking things. It really is a nice house for a vacation.

Cayucos is a happy place for our family. We really enjoyed our stay in this home. The location was great with an easy walk to downtown, the beach, and the pier. The house was clean, comfortable and spacious. We felt right at home. We were amazed at how well the kitchen was stocked. The landscaping around the property was beautiful and provided privacy. We spent a majority of our time sitting on the deck off of the living room. It had plenty of seating and a patio table. We had fun playing foos ball and ping pong. It was great that we were able to store our bikes in the garage. The rental company was very good about contacting us to see if everything was going well and to check if we needed anything. We were so happy with this home and hope to be able to return one day to stay here again.

Wonderful place for a family to stay. Walking distance to beach, shopping and restaurants.
2.0 / 5.0
First off let me say that the location is ideal. It is close to the beach and near the heart of town. Our big disappointment with the property is how dated it is. They really need to remodel the home because for what you pay for, we were expecting a home with modern furnishings and updated bedrooms and bathrooms. It seems like it was built in the 80's and they haven't invested any more into it since then. And that's a shame because like i said the location is ideal but you expect more for what you pay. I personally wouldn't stay at that facility again and I wouldn't recommend it to my friends. With that being said, I truly hope they try to remodel the home to bring it up to current standards. And they have a lot of bunk beds for kids, not many full/queen beds for adults. And the unfortunately, the beds were old and not comfortable.

Great stay in a great house. Plenty of room for me and my family ..all 9 of us.
House is dated circa 1970’s but had a nostalgic charm to it …comfortable and spacious.
Short 5 minute walk to beach and most shops and restaurants.
Would definitely consider booking here again for our annual family gathering. Thank you

We were in the area for our son's wedding and had family and friends staying with us. The multiple levels of the house facilitated what everyone needed. Areas in which to congregate on the main floor and and areas in which to retreat from group upstairs and downstairs. KItchen is well equipped--we had to do some food prep for reharsal dinner at the house--not a problem. Walking distance to the beach made it easy for people to pop over to the beach when they wanted to.

We had a family reunion and was able to stay in this house for a week. We found it well equipped and comfortable. It is in a great location. Close to the beach, but off the busy street. Plenty of room for everyone.

This house was just perfect for our mulit-generational family. Room for everyone to gather or have privacy. We walked and biked all over town and to the beach. The kitchen was very well equipped. The kids enjoyed the ping pong and foosball. The master suite was very comfortable and inviting. Many family members stated they never slept better. The enclosed yard was fun for the kids as well. All the decks allowed for everyone to find a private space. Looking forward to our stay there next year.

Older house but functional for our family. Closeness to beach, restaurants & shopping was FABULOUS. Coffee pot & toaster need replaced but other kitchenware provided was good. Easy to check-in ( just show up)

This is the best vacation rental we have experienced. There was plenty of room for kids and grown ups to have their own space. Perfect location for beach or park access. Hope to rent again!

Large house fit our group of 12 with room to spare! Walkable to beach and town. Well furnished. Cozy. Decks are a little dangerous if you have small children, as guardrails are not up to code. Everything else suited us well!

Super house for 7 adults (3 sisters and spouses and adult daughter). Love the open space and roominess. Deck outside kitchen was great social area. Only couple blocks to lots of restaurants and shops and beach!! Would definitely go back!

My wife and I met a few close friends in Cayucos in this great 3 story house! Everything was nice and was as advertised. The kitchen and dining areas are set up in such a way that we all could visit very comfortably! We’ll stay here again!

First let me start out that the property management team was fantastic. Super responsive. The house location is great and the overall space of the house is great - lots of room for socializing but quiet spaces to get away. The kitchen has everything you need. The issue is the house and some of the furnishings are really worn out. The living room couches and chairs are literally falling apart as are the sofa and chairs in the lower level. The bed in the lower room is not sleep-able the mattress is so bad. The master bath shower actually broke while we were there and had to be repaired. Last is the “5th” bedroom in the garage - technically it’s a bedroom and the beds were comfy but it’s not a great space as you’re actually in the garage. We had a great stay in one of my favorite places but not sure we’ll stay in this house again.

We had a nice autumn vacation with our kids, their spouses and children (11 total).
The house was conveniently located and we had fun at several different beaches close by. We were thrilled with the arrival of the migrating monarch butterflies in the little river gully at the side of the property … more and more each day! The home was very spacious and comfortable.

We were able to walk everywhere--to the shore, and local businesses.

Enjoyable in spite of correctable shortcomings
The layout is nice, master suite is spacious. Multiple balcony decks were enjoyable but large gaps in the railings would be unnerving for parents with small children. The view is better than we anticipated but luck was not on side for the fireworks on the 4th due to fog rolling in that night. On clear days you can see a segment of the pier and two patches of ocean from the living room.
Hearing music blast from a neighboring home until 2 a.m. was frustrating as we quietly observed the 16-person at any one time limit.
With each use of the kitchen we discovered dirty items- pots, pans, larger utensils. Forks spoons and knives seemed to be okay. Spider webs were numerous (especially in the garage bedroom) and seemed to be older than the stay of the previous guest. Obvious webs in the fixture over the dining table. I found an open beer in the garage fridge and another empty can out in the lawn. Some dark goo running down into the box containing ping pong items. The tub in the master bath drains very slow. Overall cleanliness could be improved.
The gas BBQ was a challenge to get going. Of three burners only the far left would light in a timely manner. For the other two burners I had to close the cover, turn the gas on high and wait about two minutes for them to ignite. We ran out of gas in the middle of a second round of burgers, second tank was less than half full. Screen doors need attention. One was completely off the track. I did what I could to make the other one more useful than no door at all (at least two feet of screen was loose from the frame.) Not all exterior doors were locked upon our arrival.
Wish list- A remote for the garage door. More specific info about where to place trash cans and how pick up works.

Our Family of Nine stayed here
Our family of 9 stayed at the house for our annual post-Christmas family trip. We owned a vacation rental for years and understand the various challenges associated with these homes especially those near the coast.
PROS
It is a short walk to the beach and to the town of Cayucos
The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and for large groups
The beds in four of the bedrooms (see below in cons) are comfortable
There is lots of room
We enjoyed the book selection
All of us could fit comfortably around the dining room table
CONS
We paid for a house with five bedrooms but only four were habitable. The fifth bedroom is a partitioned-off area in a cold and musty garage.
The dishwasher was very noisy and took a very long time to run. Part of the noise seems to be the water pipes because it was noisy all over the house.
There is a large amount of deferred maintenance including:
-The burners on the range were slow to heat and unreliable. They took forever to heat up and would not stay hot and one
did not work at all
- Part of the closet door in one of the upstairs bedrooms
came apart
-By far the most serious is that the decks showed a huge
amount of rot and many of the railings were not stable.
There were parts of one deck that were blocked off. It is a
dangerous situation.

Fantastic stay in Cayucos
Our family of 6 had a lovely stay at this home. There are plenty of beds and rooms to sleep in, we loved the ping pong in the garage and the homes proximity to the beach and town. Views of the ocean are limited to the upstairs bedrooms, but it is still quite nice to sit on the front deck with coffee and listen to the waves.
Kitchen is very well stocked to cook for large groups. Living room furniture would be better if more seating in one space, rather than turned away from each other.
Was unable to make the DVD player work on the tv.
All in all, we loved our stay and would stay again.

Wonderful house for big family
We had a wonderful time here at this house. Plenty of space to spread out and come together to play games and eat. Enjoyed the view of and short walk to the ocean. The butterflies had migrated and were in abundance, providing many hours of delight. Fully recommend this home.

Wonderful Beach Vacation
This house was such a wonderful place to spend the week of my 50th birthday with close family and friends. We were a full house of 12, but the house felt spacious, with multiple levels and outdoor options. The kitchen had everything we needed, the beach was a short walk away, and the rental agency was very responsive with one small issue we had with the garbage disposal. I highly recommend!

It's a beautifully maintained property. Kids loved the three levels of the house and bunk beds on lower level. We played board games in game room, Table Tennis in Garage (used our own paddles). Kitchen, breakfast nook and dinning area is spacious. Outdoor deck needs some work to make more appealing and some outdoor chairs needs to be replaced.
