Bahia Mar has been restored to a beautiful complex with 2 New Swimming Pools, Beach Front Sundeck, Sitting Areas, Children Playground, a Beautiful Walkway has replaced the riverwalk. 24 Hour Security Guards at entrance.

An additional temporary parking permit can be issued ONLY if authorized by New Bahia Mar Management for the renting party and for a $80.00 fee per vehicle. Parking is limited and permits must be displayed at all times.

The location was perfect but the actual property was not. I don't normally post reviews and such but I would with this. The owner should fire her cleaning crew! Our first impression was nice but as we see the details we were not too impress. First, I'll begin with the floor. I know its close to the beach but the floor was really sticky and sands were everywhere from the living room, bathrooms, bedroom, on top of the dressers and drawers. Second, molds in both bathrooms! This are really easy to see and should not be overlook and can be easily remove. Molds again in most registers. Again this one is really easy to see and should always be part of regular maintenance.
Third, the towels in both bathroons have hairs and pubic hairs. Really! Fourth, downstairs large room bedsheets have hairs as well. Again really! A second grader can see this thing and shouldn't be happening. Fifth, the water filter for the refrigerator needs to be replace. I bring my own coffee and I know how my coffee tastes like and my coffee didn't taste the way it should when I used the water from the fridge. I tried dringking from there and I have to spit it out! I checked the filter monitor and it was half yellow and half red. Again, this is a regular maintenance that should be done regularly, Sixth, the commode in the front toilete moves and its about to come off its base. Seventh, the washer and dryer needs attention. Its just filthy! Eight, the front door doesn't look on the inside. This is a first for me. I didn't feel secure at all knowing that someone who might know the master code for the SCHLAGE key pad could easily get into the unit. Ninth and tenth is a real concern for me. VRBO you should take a note of this. This is a real life safety concern for me and should be for future customers. Ninth, the exhaust vent for the dryer which can be seen from the large bedroom closet is made of PVC pipe. Plastic pipe for a dryer vent is a major fire hazard. When hot enough it could melt or worst cause a fire! This can lead to loss of life and I'm not exagerating. Tenth and final one are the two rooms downstairs. Before a room can be considered a bedroom it requires to have the following: an egress (doors and windows), closet space and minimum square footage. The two downstairs room can not be considered as a bedroom because the large room doesn't have a window and the small room doesn't have a window and a closet space. I ran out of space!!!

Instructions said to put out trash in the outdoor receptacle. Could not find one site wide.

The villa was perfect for our family. We enjoyed the private pool and the easy access to the two resort pools and beach. Lourdes was great too; responded quickly to questions, even before booking. We’ll be back!

Perfect for family
First off, Lourdes is amazing and very responsive. The condo is great and the small pool was perfect for the kids. The beds were comfortable enough and the master lacks windows which was surprisingly nice as we were able to sleep in. Something we haven’t done in a. While. The beach is a short walk with a beautiful patio and lounge chairs to sit and watch the sun come up or enjoy an evening cocktail. My only wish is a view of the ocean from the condo. The seconded down stairs bedroom is small but great for a single or teen. I highly recommend the condo for families or couples. It’s a short beach walk to bar Louie, claytons or the wanna wanna. Do yourself a solid and book this place for the price, comfort and proximity to the beach. Thank you Lourdes for a wonderful peaceful stay!

Why I Chose the Bahia Mar, South Padre Island
Our holiday destination to South Padre Island was both convenient to all we did during our five day stay at Bahia Mar. The host's condo was spotlessly clean and tidy. This roomy condo has a small but adequate sized pool which our grandchildren used especially in the evenings. What I personally enjoyed was the security at Bahia Mar and the convenience to the lovely beach. Thank you Loudres for allowing us this opportunity and I look forward to returning.

we had a great time, I purposefully looked for the private pool and was concerned the size would be too small but it worked out great . The beach access was easy and they had 2 large pools because they limit the number of cars it was easy parking. Only thing I do not remember in the description that there were stairs . It turned out perfect for privacy for the opther family that was with us. Overall it was great.

Pretty good
This place was much nicer than the photos! Private pool and walking distance to food, bars and public transportation! Some cons to the stay is that the Wifi was so spotty it wasn’t even used by most of the guest, we found a cockroach in one of the rooms and you have to take out all trash and do the dishes before you leave. You are also only supplied with one set of towels and trash bags for the entire week. Overall it was a mediocre stay.

Fall break getaway
This was the perfect condo for me and me 3 young children. We always use fall break to come to the beach because the weather is perfect in October and there is less people. The small pool was perfect for us. The main pool was amazing, especially at night in the hot tub listening to the ocean waves. I felt very safe. My children had axes to the little play yard across from our condo and it was so easy to to park and unload/load all of our stuff as the parking is located directly in front of the condo! We had an issue with the pool not working for one full day, but the owner had someone out to fix it and clean it. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Livin the life on South Padres
This property was amazing and beautifully furnished! We so enjoyed the private patio area which protected us from those wild island winds. And having the space to spread out in the unit made our stay all the more enjoyable. Tropical storms avoided the area but had we been forced to "shelter in place" we had gorgeous surroundings to relax in.

Great location and well appointed
It was a great location and nice complex. Check in process was easy and the owner was good to deal with. Our pool needed to be shocked So we could use it but the owner was quick to help. Also the property (outside of the house so this is not a mark on the owner) had a lot of trash on the ground that never seemed to get picked up - that was a little bit of a bummer but the inside of this property was cleaned well and well appointed.

Beach getaway
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The condo was large and comfortable for our family of 5 and 7 would fit comfortably as well. The living area has nice leather furniture and the kitchen is large. The kitchen was in need of a large pot and oven mitts, but the owner had some new supplies brought in as soon as possible. We enjoyed the private pool and patio area. The beach is a very easy walk and the resort pools are well kept.

Great location! We enjoyed our stay however there were a few things that could be done that would make this condo even better. We only had 7 bath towels in the condo & no washcloths, which it says it sleeps 7 so that means one per person. Only one kitchen hand towel and no kitchen washcloths to wipe down counters. The pool needs a really good cleaning. The shower upstairs needs to be repaired, it does not drain. Both of the shower heads need to be taken down and cleaned, the water only comes out a few of the holes which makes it really painful to shower😬 The entry door is not very secure, we did not leave valuables in the condo when we left for the beach. If just a few minor changes were made itwould have made our stay perfect! To be fair we did not complain about any of them during our stay. The property is in a great location and we really enjoyed the two big community pools.

We had a perfect vacation here with the grandkids. We can't wait to go back and we will certainly try and book this rental again. Would have been a 5 star review if not for the few items below. And to be fair to the owner, we did not report these during our stay, as it did not adversely affect the wonderful time we had. Just posting so she is aware and can address with the housekeeping staff. There were a few dirty dishes in the cabinet, could have used more bath towels, we could not find any wash cloths and the ice maker quit working on the 3rd day.

Everything we hoped it would be!
We had such a great time at South Padre Island. This property was exactly what we needed. We had 3 adults and 4 kids with us. It was more than comfortable for all of us. The location is fantastic. It is a short walk to the beach. (We came back and forth for food and restrooms from the beach.) It is close to the tennis courts and between the two community pools. We absolutely loved having the private access to the pool in the backyard. It was great to keep the kids entertained before and after the beach. The property is gated and secure. You also have to have a wrist-band to get on and off the property.
There is a spiral staircase to get up to the second floor, but it was easy enough to maneuver for even a four year old.
The owner of the property is easy to work with and very responsive. When we go back to SPI, this is exactly where we will stay!

Family vacation
We had a wonderful time. We were a family of 4 staying there, so each kid got a main level bedroom and shared a bathroom & we took the room upstairs with the balcony & our own private bathroom. All closets had plenty of hangers, which I LOVED. My girls thought the twisty stairs was the best thing ever. This unit was close to the beach & public pool, with its own private door. My kids loved having their own private pool as well and we used it a lot. It was the perfect temperature for swimming & then we were close to the kitchen for food & drinks. The kitchen had everything we needed, but we only ate breakfast & lunch there. This unit does not have access to the gym, nor does it have beach towels & chairs, but the resort will set up some for you with a very nice tent. We didn’t use this feature, but we saw it set up and look like it would be worth the rental fee and would have done it, if we were spending the whole day on the beach. This property also has security at the beach & when you drive in, and was gated around, which was a nice added feature. I also appreciated that the owner was available for any questions we had before & during our stay and was very easy to work with. Overall, we had a wonderful family vacation & hope to return to SPI again.

Clean, specious perfectly located!
We recently stayed at this condo and we really enjoyed our stayed at Spi!! Kitchen it's fully equipped and big, bedrooms are a great size as well. We had to contact the owner about two issues, first the refrigerator wasn't cooling the first day and the last day of our stay the A/C unit had a liq resulting on water on the floor. Owner was very helpful and responsive. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

Our vacation
We had tons of fun on our vacation. We walked in to a very nice condo with the pool it was very very nice all the rooms set up, plenty of space to hang out. We loved that there was 2 pools and hot tubes!!!! And then beach also just right there!! We all loves our stay clayton's anx other things to do as we walked the beach. Very tight security I must say was nice felt safe in that area! We will definitely be visiting again!!!! Thank you for the awesome stay and the very nice condo!!!!

Wonderful accomodations !
All of us that stayed in this amazing villa were more than satisfied with everything! We enjoyed the convenience of the pool, hot tubs, and beautiful scenery, especially walking along the beach. We would all definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Positive experience. But with a few bumps in the road
The security to gain initial entry into this condominium complex is very thorough. However, after the rear-view mirror hanger is in place the guards do not do much to verify the identity of the vehicles occupants on reentry. The property is fenced with a guard at the beach exit/entry that does check for wristbands.
The condo, itself was pretty much as described. Nearby parking, close proximity to trash containers and laundry facility; machines take quarters. However, it is a two story unit with bedrooms and full bath on upper level. Downstairs has two bedrooms; one large with a walk-in shower. The other is quite small. There is a photo of the beach access point in the property description. However, it is obviously taken from another unit within the complex
The kitchen was well supplied with dishware, silverware and pots and pans for cooking on the electric stove; which also has an oven. We did not use the latter feature. The coffee maker is the "drip" type taking ground coffee , there is a toaster oven and a dishwasher.
The refrigerator and the A/C were working on arrival. As a result, we walked into a pleasantly cooled condo and were able to immediately store our perishables.
One our second day, the "plunge" pool and it's waterfall stopped working. One of the individuals in our party holds a "master" electrician's license. He found the issue quickly; short in the wiring near the pump; other electrical code violations were also discovered. If the owner wishes to contact me, I will be happy to send photos. But by then, we all had found our way around the condo complex. It's two pools and beach access.
The only other maintenance issue with the condo was black mold growing on the air vents upstairs and in the upstairs shower. Easily remedied if brought to the attention of maintenance/cleaning staff.
This condo complex's management firm also adds on what I would consider an exorbitant fee to each condo rental
