About this cabin rental
There are two cabins on this property and they may not be rented separately. The main cabin is a 2 bedroom, 3/4 bath with large open livingroom with hearth fire place. The main cabin has a full kitchen with everything you need to cook and serve meals and table seating for 6. There is also a large screened in porch with glass table seating for 6 overlooking the beach, lake and views to the nearby island.
The second, or guest cabin, is up a short set of steps. It has two bedrooms, 3/4 bath, another full kitchen and living room. Also has a large screened in porch with its own porch-swing. It has a delightful view of the lake and the 70 foot pines surrounding the picturesque log cabin and rock wall.
Included in the rental are the use of two kayaks and a rowboat. There is an outboard motor boat outfitter at the nearby resort. The public landing is close and you can bring your own boat and shelter it in the drive in 'over the water boat house' where elctrical outlets are available for recharging batteries for trolling motors.
There is a countertop and sink in the garage for cleaning fish inside away from the bugs.
Lake Vermilion is a 40,000+ acre lake with over 365 islands. The lake is stocked with Walleye, Northern Pike, Small and Large mouth Bass, black Crappies, Sun fish and Perch. There are also large Muskelunge for the determined sportsman. There are many sites on the water to visit, including remote islands, resorts, restaurants and even a casino ( although it is on the other side of the lake 45 miles away).

Great old log home charm with genuine up north feel. Location is perfect in nicely protected area of Norwegian Bay. Public access literally adjacent to the property but is not very busy so it remained quiet. Resort located on the other side of property for bait, boat rental, gas. Resort even brought our boat rental directly to the dock at the property. Owner Dave was very responsive to well pump issue and even drove up to assess the situation firsthand. Plenty of space on the property to roam or sprawl. Fishing was phenomenal.

Perfect getaway
Dave and Pam’s cottages were perfect for a group of eight fishermen. The property was as described in the VRBO listing. Very private and beautiful location. Lots of room for all eight. Both cottages were extremely clean and well stocked. The property is in pristine condition and is perfect for a fishing group or large families. I was very happy with the accommodations and beautiful Lake Vermillion. Highly recommend this beautiful property.

Great getaway
We loved having all the space of two cabins for three adults and three children (two five-year olds and a six-year old). The kids had so much fun fishing off the dock and playing in the lake. The screened-in deck overlooking the lake was amazing all times of day/night. This was the perfect spot for a mostly isolated vacation during COVID-19. The owners were great about checking in and we get very comfortable here. It would be awesome to have a few more water-related toys handy for children (I only mention this because we would typically choose a resort for the kids if it weren’t for COVID-19 simply based on having fun activities for the kiddos).

Family vacation
We enjoyed our stay on Vermilion in these 2 cabins. We had more than enough room and it gave us the "up north" cabin feel we were looking for. We enjoyed a peaceful week with the kids.

Very Nice Place
I was very happy with the cleanliness of the cabins when we arrived and the cabins were very well stocked with kitchen items. As a fisherman I loved having the sink inside the garage to be able to clean fish without the disturbing mosquito's. The view from the screen porch in the main cabin is wonderful a great place for large groups to just hang and play games. I will definitely consider this place again. Dave the owner is a great guy and very eager to help in any way.

Private lakefront with cozy charm
The main cabin is older log with a wonderful stone fireplace. It’s tucked up a slight hill and there are a few steps to and from the dock. The second cabin is up another hill behind the mai cabin with quite a few more stairs. The boat ramp is convenient for unloading your boat next door yet you stay secluded with woods separating you from the ramp area. The parking at the cabin is large enough you can bring your boat trailer over once you unload and tie your boat at the cabins private dock. The cabin is well supplied with utensils. The kitchen is tiny but there is dining space on the screened patio over looking the lake, as well as a small table near the kitchen. The cabin Bedrooms are small, we didn’t spend much time in them anyway. The lake is much too pretty to be inside. There is WiFi if you need it. It’s not handicap accessible or someplace I’d recommend for those with limited mobility. The second cabin has a larger kitchen and also a small dining space in the screened porch. The cabin is newer and has multiple beds in the rooms. Great for families with kids who can share. There is a tv in the main cabin and a box of dvd, however we never turned it on. I don’t think you get any reception. The cabins are a ways from town so load up your supplies ahead of time. The little beach area has a fire pit and there are chairs and a picnic table. We love this place. We have stayed here 3 times and enjoyed every day.

Our family of seven rented this property Aug.13-20, 2016. We loved our week and were very impressed with the property. Both cabins are clean, spacious and well appointed. Having two cabins allowed all our family members to sleep in a bedroom. The main cabin is beautiful and the quintessential northern Minnesota lake place. The large screen porch overlooking the lake was the main attraction, and where we spent the majority of our family time - meals, games and just relaxing. Having the master bedroom open to the screen porch was great, as it felt like sleeping outside. The grounds were beautiful and spacious, with plenty of room for multiple cars and boat trailers. The large garage was very handy, with room to store water toys and other supplies, and an extra fridge for beer, wine, ice and bait. There is also plenty of sturdy dock space for multiple boats - we docked an 18 runabout and a 22 pontoon with no difficulty. We were also very impressed with how quiet the area was. Located between a small public access and the Life of Riley resort, there was very little boat traffic, noise or other activity - perfect. (Note that the shoreline is not conducive to swimming. The area is fairly shallow (3-5) and weedy. Was of no concern to our group as we simply headed out to the midde of the bay on the pontoon.) The property is a 15 minute boat ride from the far west end of Lake Vermilion and the Landing restaurant and Moosebirds convenience store, with large three-scoop ice cream cones! It was a great week at a wonderful cabin. We would definitely return.

Great stay
Pleasantly surprised upon arrival because the pictures don't do this cabin justice. Nice and quiet location and secluded, with lots of room for small kids to play outdoors. Just wish we had access to the sauna, maybe next time.

Charming Well Kept Cabin
My grown children and I stayed here for 5 days and we really enjoyed ourselves. The cabins were spotless and well equipped. Our favorite parts were the huge screened-in porch overlooking the lake, the eagles and loons we saw daily, and the ability to really relax. The fishing was pretty good, too. If you are looking to unplug from the world for a few days this is the place! It's a gorgeous piece of property and it is obvious that the owners take very good care of it.
