Welcome to the new and excitingly exuberant beach house 'Portsea'! Sister to the extremely sought after 'Lucy's Escape' at Culburra. Named and designed with the famous beach boxes of Portsea Victoria in mind this newly renovated and custom built home has been painstakingly crafted with the holiday guest at the fore. Only 50m from direct access to beautiful Culburra Beach and situated in a street that is a member of the "Golden Mile" stretch, this delightful home awaits for you to make it your beach house!
'Portsea' is a wildly different home that has at its heart an enormous outdoor entertaining area that needs to be seen to be believed, 140 square metres of timber decking awaits you, facing north and receiving beautiful sun no matter what the season. Following the vibrant colours and designs of the beach boxes the rear elevation of the property is a replica of those boxes and each gable has been individually mastered with its own individual design and colour palate.
The first level of decking is completely undercover and is "all weather". It boasts a feature wall that is a handcrafted work of art using timber, colour and glass tiles, an enormous timber dining table, lounge area for coffee or breakfast, a BBQ with two gas bottles (always available), and a sink with running hot and cold water. Access to main living area is via huge glass sliding doors. Lighting can also be of your choice, 'SCG" lighting, romantic soft lighting or bunker lighting. Dining will be an exceptional experience no matter what the weather or time of day!
On the second level of decking you will find sunbeds, just perfect for those lazy days in the sun or that "cheeky" afternoon nap. It is also where you will find the most amazing outdoor shower with privacy screen and an explosion of colour that will have you showering outside under the 'Milky Way' and with the fireplace roaring.
Speaking of the fireplace a bespoke, hand crafted open fireplace stands proudly on the third and final level. Built from 150 year old reclaimed bricks and with an outdoor bespoke dining table at its hearth many nights will be spent by the fire enjoying a quiet drink all watched over by 'Pete the Pelican'! (Small amount of complimentary timber and kindling supplied). This level also includes a 'Retro' caravan fully decked out with TV, bar sink, fridge and beanbags for simply "chilling" or a place for the kids to play.
All this is surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens and manicured lawns . Dog owners will also rest easy knowing that the rear garden is fully enclosed by six foot fences and full length lockable side gates. No escapees! (PLEASE NOTE: Any form of camping, tents, plastic inflatable pools, tarps, 'SLIP n SLIDES' etc are not allowed in garden under any circumstance due to possible lawn damage)
Internally the house evolves around a combined living/dining area that flows seamlessly onto the outside undercover entertaining area. It has quirky inclusions such as lead light feature windows and a feature wall lit by portrait lighting. A large comfy sofa, TV (Chromecast), Blu-Ray, DVD's and a stereo that is iPod and Blu Tooth compatible are supplied for your enjoyment, reverse cycle aircon for your comfort. An extensively supplied kitchen, is part of this great space. Inclusions are full fan forced oven, induction cook top, microwave, coffee machine (BYO Dolce Gusto pods) and dishwasher.
Sleeping arrangements for up to 8 have been catered for by one large master bedroom with its own gorgeous ensuite shower room and TV. Tastefully decorated this space flows effortlessly onto the undercover deck via a large sliding glass door, bringing the outside in. Reverse cycle air conditioning is also fitted in this room. A second queen room exists along with a bedroom that contains two low line bunk beds (Australian Standards) sleeping four. Master bedroom and other queen room are discretely separate ensuring privacy.
All additional bedrooms are serviced by a generous shower room that also houses the integrated laundry. This includes washing machine and sink. All pegs, laundry detergent, basket, iron/ironing board and cleaning equipment are supplied.

Due to demand and housekeeping pressures, no early check-ins or late check-outs will be offered during the months of December and January. The safest way to secure is to book an extra night.

We stayed for 7 nights, but unfortunately by lunchtime the day after our arrival, the heavens opened up and, apart from some brief respite, persisted for our entire holiday break, dumping over 230mm. The great part of all this was our accommodation, which, while spacious enough indoors, had a large covered outdoor area which contained an 8 seater table and chairs, BBQ, sink, and sun lounges and chairs which could be taken to the lawn. Being only a few minutes walk to the beach, the kids and I braved the elements (we were going to get wet anyway) and headed to the beach during the lighter rainfall periods. The kids also had their own 'escape' playing in an old caravan in the yard which had a tv and comfy cushions. Apart from the rain, which battered all the NSW coast, we had a terrific stay. The owner is also very accommodating with any requests you may have. Thank you.

This property was a dream for a family with small kids and a dog. It’s secure, clean and the garden is lovely - the kids had a ball in the caravan and outdoor shower after a trip to the beach. The kitchen was really well equipped also. There are a lot of thoughtful touches, safe bunk beds which made our preschooler feel very grown up, and a short pleasant walk to Culburra Beach.
Thanks to Kim for our stay. Communication was quick and we appreciated the late checkout as well! Can’t wait for our next visit.

The house was amazing and the facilities fantastic. We were three adults, two children and two dogs. So easy to relax outside, where we spent most of our time when we weren't at the beach. The dog friendly beach is such a short walk from the house and the kids and dogs had a great time playing in the surf. Fabulous back garden, well fenced and so private. Lots of room inside, good size bedrooms and the boys loved the bunk beds, a new experience for them! We will return as we had such a wonderful time.

We arrived in pouring rain but it made no difference as we used the BBQ on the huge sheltered deck. The house is brilliantly kitted out with everything you could possibly need. A highlight is the warm outdoor shower. Perfect after a swim that is only a short stroll from the front door. Kim was great, easy to contact and talk to.

Loved staying at Portsea - gorgeous place so close to the beach! We lived on the wonderful back deck and the owners were quick to help when a few issues needed to be sorted out. Would definitely recommend!

We were very happy with the 8 nights at this property. Good communication ahead of the stay and the property presented exactly as advertised.
Close to the beach and the rear yard was very secure for our two dogs and they loved the off-leash beach just up the road. The shower head in the front yard to wash down the dogs was a great help too thanks.

Beautiful home, brilliant location and wonderful hosts. A spacious and well equipped home that has such a welcoming and relaxing feel. Everything you could possibly need and more was supplied. A 2 minute walk to the end of the road and you’re on a beautiful beach. Nice quiet street and good neighbours and a 3 minute drive to the local shops with everything you need. Lots of activities and places to visit within a half hour drive from Culburra. The little caravan hideaway out the back is perfect for the kids to escape to. The hosts have gone above and beyond to make your stay as easy and comfortable as possible and we will definitely be staying there again.

We had a lovely stay at Portsea. The weather wasn’t great but we made the most of it. The house was everything you needed and more for a fun and relaxing get away. The teenagers loved it and so did we. I would highly recommend staying here. Thanks Kim

This is the perfect beach house, it has everything you need and it’s very close to the beach. We really enjoyed our stay as did our dog Daisy. She loved walking along the beach and meeting other dogs. The house has been set up so well, the back yard is securely fenced and you can come through the side entrance and wash sandy feet and paws before entering the house. So handy.

We LOVED staying at Portsea. So much care has been taken by the hosts to create a comfortable home with something for every family member to enjoy. We loved playing table tennis on the deck and the outdoor shower under the stars. We will definitely be back!!!

Portsea
Portsea exceeded our expectation in comfort, cleanliness and facilities. It lacked for nothing. Only 5 minutes walk from a beautiful beach and in an area of beautiful scenery including white sandy beaches and lovely little towns like Berry and Huskisson. We would definitely recommend it.

Spent three nights at the seaport. Charming place with everything you need. Cleaned with high standard. Great outdoor area with a very cute kids cubby house. Beautiful setup. Also great service form the manage Kim. Speed response and painless booking process. Highly recommended.

50th in Culburra
Despite having terrible weather we had a wonderful time at Portsea at Culburra Beach. The covered outdoor area was a godsend - the outdoor shower was lovely. Plenty of space and everything that we needed in terms of cooking/dining equipment. Really cute house - in a lovely part of the world. Hoping for a sunny day on our return visit. Peaceful and relaxed
The photos of the property is an excellent representation of what the property is like. We had an enjoyable stay with our two pups loved the fully enclosed yard. The only down side was the weather constant rain.. We wouldn’t hesitate to book another stay here.. thanks for the pawsome pet friendly property..

Wonderful surprise in Culburra
We know Culburra well & have been staying there with family for years. At our recent holiday we needed a bit of extra space & decided to stay at Portsea. It was a delightful surprise!! We had no idea such a gorgeous place existed so close to where we had been staying. It is so well set up, impeccably clean & great for all ages. It has everything you could want. Kim was so helpful with every aspect of our stay. The photos don’t do the place justice - it is much nicer in real life!! Highly recommended!

Absolutely fantastic
Great property, beautifully maintained, thoughtfully laid out and equipped. Tastefully decorated (better than it looks in photos.) Friendly responsive host who went out of her way to help us after a booking error that was my fault. Definitely plan to visit again. Highly recommend.
