Placebo is located one block from the Market and Public Beach. Right across the street from the beach. We are a classic , comfortable, and fully accommodating beach cottage in Sandbridge, Virginia . The great location and amenities will make this your perfect vacation spot! Last summer we were fully booked so book early to hold your week!

Watch the sunrise over the ocean from your front deck.... The white sandy beach is right across the street. You can’t get much closer to that clear green water and fine white sand than this property. Walk a block on the picturesque ocean road that fronts our house to the market and get breakfast biscuits and the morning paper. Take your dog on a walk and your kids to the beach with lifeguards on duty. Or find a more a more private spot right in front. Splash around in the big pool ( it is Not heated) and relax after in the HOT TUB and in the loungers. At sunset , grill on the front deck with a view of the ocean or check out the sunset from the back deck as your family hangs out in the pool or game room below.
Cook dinner in the spacious and bright kitchen and enjoy ocean views from the main living salon with high ceilings and bright summer colors.
Sleep in comfy beds and comforters after a long day of beaching, boating, golfing, playing, sunbathing and above all relaxing at the beach. and if you feel like eating out you can walk a block to a restaurant and sports bar without ever getting in your car!! Sandbridge is a quiet little beach neighborhood several miles south of the Virginia Beach strip just to the north of the North Carolina line. Sandbridge is sometimes referred to as 'the Outer Banks of Virginia'. We have 5 bedrooms, and sleep 11 people comfortably in beds. There is a set of bunk beds in the bunk room, but we do not advertise it as a regular sleeping area. The bunk room is a detached garage that has been converted to its own space with a ping pong table, full size refrigerator , bunk beds, and flat screen Smart TV. Bring your XBox or video games and hook up to the TV. Kids love it as a getaway from the parents, and it does provide some extra sleeping space. It does not have a bathroom or closet.
Ample parking! We widened the original driveway to accommodate more vehicles. Since there is no on street parking this has really made parking easier.
This house is semi-oceanfront, with views and sounds of the ocean. We are one row back from the first line of Oceanfront homes. The beach is really close and we actually are on the dunes and have a dune in our front yard. The large pool is on the other side of the house and gets great afternoon sun.
We are only one block from the public beach where lifeguards are on duty in the summer months. If you have small children this is a big plus. The street in front is generally for local traffic and has very little traffic, even in the peak of summer. Beach access is right across this sleepy little road.
You can walk down this little street about a block or so to the local market for morning coffee, fresh doughnuts and the newspaper. You can watch the sunrise from the front deck while the others sleep and look forward to another sunny day at the beach. In the evenings, some of our guests like to enjoy cocktails on the front deck looking out over the ocean.
You can walk to get food and drinks! Next to the fully stocked market and deli is The Sandbridge Island Restaurant with ocean views and excellent food. In the evenings it is fun to walk from the restaurant over to the yogurt shop or Ben and Jerry's for dessert before walking home. If you don't like getting in your car to go everywhere you don't have to.
There are other restaurants a few minutes drive away. "The Baja" rocks with live music most nights in the summertime.
Back Bay Wildlife Refuge is just a few minutes south and you sometimes see wild horses and pigs and other wildlife year-round.
If you want to cook there is a fully stocked kitchen, gas grills on the front deck with ocean views and one on the back deck too ,and large areas for dining either inside or on the front or back decks.
Hell's Point Golf Course is about 5 minutes up the road and is consistently ranked in the top 100 of all public courses in the country. Tennis courts and playgrounds and a fishing pier are another 5 minutes in the other direction.
The close proximity to the beach, neighborhood center and public facilities mean you don't need to get in your car for days at a time..
... If you want more action you are only a few minutes drive to great shopping, restaurants, the nightlife of the resort strip of Virginia Beach or another hour or so to Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens and Water Country.
Sandbridge is surrounded by the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge and as a result there is no through traffic. All traffic headed for Sandbridge is going only to Sandbridge. This remoteness is part of the charm of this fabulous little beach. It is out of the way but still very accessible to everything.

Great rental. Covered all of our needs. Great views of sunrise. The pool was very nice to be able to come back and use for evening swims with the family after a day at the beach or after dinner since it gets full evening sun. The host was very prompt with answering questions and made arrangements to fix things what needed repaired while we were there. The pool is also very well maintained as there was a pool cleaning service making their rounds early one morning. Plenty of hot water for showers, dishes, clothes washer.
Would book it again or even consider buying it if they were selling.

Perfect location! Great pool/hot tub. Plenty of space for our family of 5 (3 adult kids) and one dog. Host was super easy to communicate with. We had a great, relaxing time!

Great location if you are looking to spend your days at the beach, wind down at the pool and hot tub, this is perfect. Plenty of space. Description of property is accurate. Kitchen is well stocked. Pictures are what the property looks like. The owner is very helpful and responsive! We didn’t have any issues during our stay. We definitely would consider staying here again. Thank you!!

Nice clean house, although dated. Comfortable stay. Roomy, well supplied kitchen but the table and chairs are cramped against the wall or hinder the walkway if pulled out. Double doors to bedroom areas did a good job of keeping out noise from the living area. Quirky isolated game room is smelly, but would be a great separate space for older kids.
Pool and hot tub were very nice.

Front deck and back upper deck furniture was dirty and outdated. Wasps around hot tub top edging and back upperdeck. Grass/sand area by pool was unkept.

I really liked the house location. It was perfect.
It was clean and the kitchen area had more than enough dishes, pots/pans/silverwear.
I’m sure as the season progresses that they’ll more than likely have all of the above things fixed.

My family stayed here for a week. The kitchen was stocked really well. There were pots and pans for light or heavy duty cooking. Plenty of dishes for serving many guests at one time. Pool was cleaned before and during our stay, and they were cleaning it as we were leaving for the next guests. I found the bedrooms were very quiet even with people in the living or pool area which is great if you have different bedtimes living together for a week. This house definitely worked for us. Would rent again. As an added perk, there are fresh apple fritters available every day at Sandbridge Market which is about a 3 minute walk from the house. Usually sold starting at 6AM and sold out by 7:30AM because they are that good!

I was very disappointed in this property. One of the bedrooms that was listed as agame room with bunk beds and pullout couch did not say that it was completely separate from the main house. We could not use it for the children to sleep in because you have to go outside to get to this room and it has no bathroom. The house doesn’t seem to be very well maintained. The ac was not working in the game room when we arrived but the property owner did have it taken care of the following afternoon. The fenced yard was not good for dogs. After storming the part of the fence fell. Notified property oqwwner and he responded with pretty much what was the problem. We made temp repairs to keep the dogs from getting out easily. The stove door came apart but we chose to fix it because we hadn’t really had much action from the owner. The location was fantastic and the pool was great. The rooms are smaller than they appear in pictures. I felt like it was quite a bit over priced. I would not recommend it for smaller children if you plan on using the beds in the game room or for pets.

Had a wonderful time despite the horrible weather! So much to do around Sandbridge if you’re looking for activity but, you come back to a quiet little village at the end of the day. Trivia night at the corner bar/restaurant proved to be a hoot for three of our older children; great golf; a visit to Norfolk for a victory rover cruise is a favorite; but nothing beats the beach. Sadly, beach days were few and far between due to weather- but the backyard pool and hot tub kep everyone entertained! Terrific location, comfy beds, nice amenities! Loved it all!

I made a last-minute decision to take my grandchildren away for spring break, and was lucky enough to find George’s house in Sandbridge. It’s directly across from the beach a short little walk out the door, a jog to the right up the path and you’re there. we played games on the front deck And I was in heaven as I could see the water and that’s a must for me. JORGE had the pool open and there was a hot tub so a quick plunge in the cold pool followed by a warm up in the hot tub was perfect for an April visit to the beach , the layout of the house suited us very well.
George was friendly and communicative and I know if we had had a problem he would’ve taken care of it. I would rent this house again.

We rented this property on a bit of short notice to get to the beach this year. My family and inlaws and 2 dogs went. The house was laid out perfectly for us, with an angry teenager suite downstairs and two wings upstairs.
The house was clean, and towels were provided on every bed. The pool and hottub were awesome. It is a short walk to the beach or the sandbridge market and ample parking.
We had one day of heavy rain, which caused some flooding, but luckily nothing got into the house or pool so we were able to have a good time still. Couch and tv setup was great in the main room.
The owner was incredibly fast to respond and very helpful.

We enjoyed our stay here. The location was great with the beach across the street and public access close by. The pool was great for the evenings as we had 5 little ones. The hot tub was perfect for the cooler days/nights. More than enough rooms and bed for 7 adults and 5 kids. There are lots of shops and restaurants close by within walking distance. Really great and fresh donuts at the Sandbridge Seaside Market for the mornings 2 blocks away. Also, ample grocery stores and fast food restaurants within 15-20 minute drive.

The location, pool and hot tub, and reclining couch were the best features of this property. The game room area had a very strong smell to it, and appeared to have asbestos tile. There was also a gaping hole in the tile behind one of the toilets. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay and definitely really enjoyed the location of this property!
