About this house rental
Centrally located for all the Hocking Hills parks or enjoy exploring our private acreage for year-round nature loving . . .this is a great location for all the activities you want to enjoy.
We are just one mile south of Route 56 on State Route 93 and here, you’ll find a convenient setting to explore, sited on over 200 acres of land — in a naturally rough and hilly setting and undeveloped since 1978. If you want to explore our acreage, note that the path up the large hill behind the home is NOT paved and can have deep crevices, wear hiking boots or sturdy shoes. There may be high grass so prepare for that and dress accordingly. During spring and summer the natural brush/grass and wet weather cause quick growth and mowing does occur on a semi-regular rotation, however, it is a "rough" path. Feel free to explore and get lost in nature while there.
The land offers a natural and wooded setting with 2 lakes/ponds (created from strip mining prior to our ownership) along with high hills and the terrain to attract lots of wildlife. Deer, turkeys, coyotes, foxes, rabbits, frogs, snakes, many birds, and pheasants have all been spotted on our property.
For a more maintained path hiking experience, there are several nearby Ohio Department of Natural Resources (Lake Hope, Tar Hollow, and Lake Logan) parks with fishing available are located within easy driving distance mostly about 15-30 minutes by car from our homes. If you prefer excursions in the public parks, we are just a short drive to Lakes Logan, Alma, and Hope along with convenient access to many others including John Glenn Astronomy Park and Wayne National Forest. Public swimming is available at a few of the parks and at the Logan Municipal Pool. No swimming, fishing, or hunting is available on our property.
A 3-bedroom, 2.5 bath home is fully furnished and is located convenient to Old Man's Cave, John Glenn Astronomy Park, Ash Cave, Lakes Hope, Logan, and Alma, and Wayne National Forest.
Most of the acreage is behind the home which sits on St. Rt. 93 just one mile from Route 56. The home is located conveniently off the highway, please remember that retirees built this so it is not "in the woods", our acreage and woods to explore and enjoy are all behind the home.
No smoking (of any kind) inside the home. If you choose to smoke outside of the home, please remember to be sure the ashes are extinguished and properly dispose of ALL debris.
Dogs are permitted with an additional fee and prior arrangement. You will be responsible for pick up and removal of animal waste from the area around the home. The pet fee is per dog and is not refundable. There is a dog limit of 2 (two) total. If your animal is a service animal as defined by the ADA, we will need documentation provided to waive the pet fee.

We planned a girls trip to explore Hocking Hills and this house was perfect for hosting us all. The kitchen is AMAZING to cook in, although, I will say the stove was a tab bit too advanced for me (100% operater error lol). There was plenty of seating for all of us and the kitchen counter made it so easy to host dinners. The house has everything you could possibly need. Some things we found super helpful were crockpots, storage containers, cooking spices, tons of plates and cooking utensils. The house was super clean for the most part. We did have to rewash a few utensils we pulled out of the drawer, and the coffee maker had moldy grounds in it, but it wasn’t a huge deal. The host, Mary, was so pleasant to work with and was extremely responsive and helpful anytime I had a question. The yard was beautiful and a blast to explore. I couldn’t recommend this Vrbo enough! We will defintely book here again next time we travel to the area. Thanks for everything!

Close to nearby attractions like the falls and trails of Hocking hills State Park. Outside is a little dated, inside is beautiful reminds me of a grandparent's house. Only complaint was we had to go out an buy a new skillet to cook breakfast in. The ones provided were a little rough. Otherwise we had a great time, cooked home cooked meals pretty much all weekend long

We had eight family members coming for the graduation, we made a weekend of it. We had a great time. The cabin was clean, stocked with everything you could possibly need. Check in and out was very easy. We would stay again. The property is beautiful.

Very clean. Well stocked kitchen with plenty of dishes, glassware, silverware and just about every baking/cooking utensil you could imagine. Nice outdoor area with large firepit. Owners were very responsive to any issue we had. Beds were clean and comfortable. Decor and furnishings were an interesting older mix. Some historical information about the owners history was on display. Overall a very comfortable place to stay. Easy drive to some of the caves and other areas of interest

Our family took a short girls trip. We had a lot of fun and really enjoyed it. We weren't at the house long. But it was nice and suited our family.

Great place, clean and remote but a close enough drive to Hocking Hills parks. We didn't use the TV or internet by choice as we wanted to be unplugged for the weekend. The kids enjoyed exploring the acreage and enjoyed board games and fire pit every night while hiking during the day. Home was well stocked with amenities and we needed nothing during our stay. Thanks for the R&R. We would rent again when returning to the area.

This house was perfect for our annual family gathering. It's only a short drive from many of the natural sights in the Hocking Hills area, and we enjoyed the open layout of the first floor while preparing meals together. Both the front porch and the fire pit were great for hanging out in the evenings.

The house fit our family perfectly. We had 5 adults and 3 children; 2, 3 and 7. Loved the big kitchen and all the equipment that was available for our use. The jacuzzi tub was great after a day of hiking around Hocking Hills. The beds were comfortable. Even being close to the road it was relatively quiet. Enjoyed the fire pit and gas grill. The kids enjoyed the tree swing. The spiral staircase was concerning for the small children and some of us adults but quickly learned to navigate them. The stairs added a little charm to the place. Would definitely recommend this property. Close to the State park but a little bit of a drive to the nearest town for essentials, about 20 minutes or so.

he home is very lovely and well-kept. It is located on a very busy road, so there is a LOT of road noise. With the cleaning fee that was charged, we were not expecting to be asked to do more "cleaning" at check-out other than taking out the trash. We enjoyed the front porch and tree swing.

Our family came down to Ohio to explore and hike in hocking hills. The house was big enough to accommodate 9 of us with beds for all. The house was located in a great area close to all the hiking trails with a trail on the property itself which we enjoyed exploring. The check in process was easy and the house was clean and well stocked with all the essential. We would defiantly recommend this property especially if you have a big group, it’s nice that everyone had their own bed and 21/2 baths was also very beneficial.

The property was lovely and the house comfortable. However, the access to the house was problematic. The side entrance approach was loosely placed stones, weed filled and difficult to walk on. Although the front door entrance was slightly better in that the stones were firmly placed, they were uneven and weed filled. I for one and also my daughter have mobility issues and we both use a cane, making that type of access problematic, to say the least. I took a fall which required stitches, putting a slight damper on the festivities. On the whole enjoyable, but access requires improvement for future renters.

We loved this house. We definitely want to stay again and have time to hike the land. House was very clean and well stocked.

The well-stocked kitchen and the grounds were the highlights of this rental. We had two dogs who had such a good time in the yard and the adjacent pond (on property). The fire pit and outdoor seating was awesome! We had a couple of issues (no one's fault) and got prompt responses from the owner. There was only one shower, which takes some coordination for larger groups. We loved the large dining table for dining and games. We did have two rainy nights, and the only thing that would make it nicer is to have more than one couch or some kind of additional comfortable seating. Other than that, it was great. Easy access, comfortable beds. Recommend!

We enjoyed a couple nights at this nice home at the end of July. Perfect place to explore Hocking Hills from and a fun place for our two families to hang out together and play games. Our dogs enjoyed it too 😊

We only stayed one night even though we booked two. Very musty smell throughout. Spiral staircase was scary. Beds very old and uncomfortable. Outside was pretty. Very sad with experience. Overall. Price was too high for what we got

Family Trip to Hocking Hills
This place had plenty of room for 3 generations to stay close to Hocking Hills park. The rooms were comfy and roomy enough for us to fit parents and 2 kids in one room. The house was close enough to get to Hocking quickly and even had some trails and a little pond for evening hikes. We would definitely stay here again

This was our fourth stay at this very clean property. We enjoyed our trip once again. We made ice cream, hiked the property, carved pumpkins, played yard games, and enjoyed the bonfire. We appreciated the owners attention to detail and communication with us.

Great location!
We enjoyed our stay! They had Everything we needed to make our stay comfortable! I loved that the house is centrally located in retrospect of all of the local attractions. The drives to the attractions were scenic instead of highway. We stayed somewhere else last year and missed out on the experience of driving through the hills.

wonderful stay
This was a wonderful experience. Everything in the home was labeled so we didn't have to search for anything. Enough lawn space to do lawn games and with 200 acres we hiked the property along with all the hiking we did in the Hocking Hills. The caves are only about 20 minutes away so very convenient. We would definitely recommend this home.

This stay was incredible! The host was responsive and everything was better than I imagined. We loved the games in the house, exploring the property, and ease of finding everything we needed to prepare meals. We had 7 kids and their favorite part of our stay was the well and bucket. The location is within 25 minutes of 3 beaches, Walmart/gas station, souvenier market, canoeing, and of course the caves. There is Miller Brothers about 10 minutes up the 93 where we got more than enough firewood for the week. I really appreciated the accurate documents shared by the host. She did well to give all the necessary information to make our visit easy. And the binder is FULL of great stuff as well! So thoughtful. We will definitely book again if we make it back to Hocking Hills!
