Ground floor unit steps from two large pools, a jacuzzi and the beach access. The complex is exceptionally clean, safe, and well maintained.
The condo itself is one of the cleanest and most well stocked we've stayed in. We are a family of 5 (3 young kids) and I highly recommend.

We absolutely loved this property and location and look forward to coming back. You can't beat the ground floor location just steps from the pool. We have 2 children and could sit on the patio and watch them swim from here. The patio is the highlight. Comfortable patio furniture with a view of the ocean and pool. We cooked out on the patio grill a couple nights for relaxed evening meals. The beach in front of this property is clean, quiet and safe. There are some great places to eat within walking distance . Loved our beach walks to a couple restaurants for great seafood, tacos and cocktails. The property was safe, clean and the residents were very friendly. Parking on site was safe and easy and Uber was a reliable option as well. The interior is comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. We highly recommend this property!

El Zalate is a great property. The proximity to food, town and the beach are all so close. Our suite was great and so accessible to the pool as it was ground level. So nice with kids! We would highly recommend and come back anytime.

This is the perfect location if you are seeking a relaxing, peaceful vacation directly on the beach within close proximity to activities in and around San Jose del Cabo.
The unit is clean and well appointed. It includes all of the essentials, plus a water filter in the kitchen, all of the beach accessories and pool toys you will need and a large, comfortable patio area with direct access to the pools and ocean. Malie is very responsive and helpful with recommendations for the area.
The community is well maintained and provides 24 hour security and gated access. And the homeowners and other renters at El Zalate are so friendly.
We enjoyed sunrises on the beach, play time at the pool with separate areas for kids and adults, and exploring downtown San Jose del Cabo as well as other destinations.
I particularly appreciated the serenity and tranquility of this location. This is not a destination for those seeking more of a party atmosphere. The community is quiet in the evening and you can hear the ocean waves.
I recommend renting a car to have easy access to downtown, restaurants and shopping, but there is a convenience store on the corner, some restaurants within walking distance and Uber/cabs are very accessible.

Very firm guest bed mattress is the only *caution*, otherwise highly recommend. Condo was well equipped for beach, cooking and kids. Very quiet unit and great and spacious layout.

My daughters and I had a relaxing vacation at Malie’s condo. The proximity to the pool and beach was perfect. The condo was well stocked and very comfortable for our party of 4. Communication with the host was superb. We will definitely return!

Wonderful Stay
The property was great! The pics did not do it justice, the pools were beautiful, the beach is right down a set of stairs,; you can catch the sunrise over the ocean with just a few steps.
Well equipped kitchen with water filter. Spacious and clean. We really enjoyed ourselves here.
Owner gave us great ideas about things to do around the area too.

Wonderful unit, grounds, location and communication
We had an amazing time and loved the beautiful and clean unit, enjoying the multiple pools and hot tubs, the beach, surfing and amazing communication from the owner. The unit was well stocked, looked even better than the pictures and we’d come back in a heartbeat.

Ground floor condo
The location of this unit on the ground floor worked out ok, easy access to pool and beach. Unfortunately there was only one slider (out of 3) that had a screen door. It was on the bedroom slider and it didn’t slide open. The living room and other bedroom no screens. Difficult to leave wide open because of mosquitoes. The condo unit itself needs some TLC. New drapes, screen doors and outdoor cushions to start. Both kitchen lights burned out and we let Malie know but in a 3 days the lights were not changed out. She did apologize that the maintenance crew met her down. I’d we had the lights we could have changed the ourselves. The unit could be awesome with some updates. El Zalate was quiet and very secure. The staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. We rented a car and getting into the old town area of shopping and great restaurants was quick and easy. We love SJD and will be back.

Beautiful location
We enjoyed our stay at El Zalate for the second time. This garden level unit did not disappoint. The large covered patio was very comfortable. During our visit the sun just grazed the edge of the patio so it did not get blasted at any part of the day making it a cool place to relax. The unit had everything we needed for our stay from a fully stocked kitchen to beach chairs and umbrella.
The complex is a smaller, very well maintained property but has plenty of space so you don’t feel like you are invading others while at the pool. The quiet hours start at dinner so you can enjoy the peaceful sunset and while eating dinner.
We did not need the second bedroom but having the large patio was well worth the extra money! We will definitely return to this unit if available.

Perfect spot for a relaxing stay
The VRBO was spacious, comfortable and well stocked with a beautiful private deck overlooking the pools and ocean. Grounds were beautifully maintained. Place was safe and convenient. We took UBER to town for a couple dollars when we didn’t feel like walking. Loved our time there! Stayed 8 nights and wish it had been longer. Thanks!

Wonderful vacation in paradise
The condo was beautiful, clean, well-appointed, and in a perfect location; grocery store near by, great restaurants close and short distance to town. It was quiet except for the wonderful ocean sounds. Pools and grounds were clean. Great place to rest, read and swim.

Well stocked condo
Extremely well stocked condo with terrific outdoor covered area with comfy couches/tables, bbq just feet’s from heated pool. February great whale watching time and good restaurants walking distance down the beach. Weather kinda cool during our stay. But enjoyed the town, art walk and laid back environment.

Wonderful stay
We had a great family vacation at this condo. The bedrooms are good sized with sliders opening onto the large patio. The area is safe within walking distance to the grocery store and restaurants. There is a convenience store at the end of the driveway. Security is present and helpful.
There are 2 pools - one warm and the other cooler as well as a large hot tub. Neither were ever overcrowded. The other guests were quiet. This was not a party condo complex.
We loved being on the ground floor and could walk right out to the pool and beach. The grounds are immaculate.
Communication with the owner was easy. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect family vacation
We had a wonderful stay at this condo. We spent most of our time outside so we loved the outdoor patio and pool. The pool was nice and warm as well. The location to the amenities was close or at least a quick taxi/Uber ride. The inside of the condo was very clean and nicely stocked with everything we needed.

A Wonderful Experience
We loved this place! The grounds are meticulously maintained. The patio view is spectacular. The patio furniture is sturdy but not truly comfortable. We had a 1-year old child who absolutely loved the toys that were available. We enjoyed the sunrise, the pool, and the kitchen that had everything we needed. We would love to come back..

Great Condo in perfect Location
We really enjoyed our stay the last week of March 2019. This condo has a huge outdoor patio that is right next to the pool which was perfect for the kids and super convenient being on the ground floor. The condo was also very well stocked with everything you need both inside the unit and also lots of pool/beach toys, beach chairs, etc. All appliances, coffee maker, internet, etc. worked great. Malie, the host, went above and beyond to make our stay very easy and stress free by arranging for airport transportation, grocery delivery and also a mid-week cleaning for us. It was possible to swim in the ocean for the first half of the week we stayed if you were a good swimmer (surf came up the 2nd half of the week) and the beach was very nice, not crowded and almost no vendors. The complex is a short taxi ride to downtown San Jose and an even shorter ride to the mall with a huge La Comer grocery store. Overall this unit and the condo complex overall were excellent. All the staff we came into contact with were very friendly and helpful as well. We met several other families who rent at this complex regularly and we can see why.

Exceeded our expectaions
When we arrived for a months stay the condo was very clean, the kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms and bathrooms were very large with lots of closet storage. The view from the very large patio was outstanding. Had a very nice BBQ which we used a few times and spent a lot of time on the patio at the large table and on the big comfy couches. The condo was also equipped with beach chairs wave surf boards and umbrellas which was very handy for the beach. The morning sunrises were spectacular.
The pools and grounds very well maintained with lots of chairs and Palapa's which we used pretty much every day. The staff were very friendly and work very hard. The whole facility was very quiet and relaxing and we met a lot of very nice people. We really enjoyed walking the beach to Mama Mia Restaurant next door for happy hour and dinners and entertainment. Would highly recommend going on the ultralight that comes to the beach, the ride is unbelievable and the view is spectacular.
We would highly recommend this property .

Nice place heaven on eatth!
Beautiful unit,perfect location ! A little disappointed,when coffee pot was broken,only one toilet paper,and ,no tissues,napkins or paper towels !?? Dishes in cupboards were dirty floors gritty,and furniture cushions on patio need replacing very worn ,hard and uncomfortable. But with a little updating unit would be 5 star.we loved it none the less 😍plumbing issues with water leaking through bathroom ceiling need immediate attention.,but had a very nice stay anyway...

Amazing Experience
What a wonderful place to stay in Mexico. The condo was really nice and offered everything we needed for a 2 week stay. The owners were really responsive if he had questions. We were steps from the pools and beach which was really convenient. We also enjoyed our daily morning walks to coffee and the market. We couldn't have had a better experience. Thank you!

Fabulous El Zalate Villa 3 #101 Ground Floor Oceanfront Condo!
We stayed at the El Zalate VRBO 443866 condo Villa 3, #101 from July 19 - Aug. 10th, 2017 and loved it! The owner, Malie, has great communication and prompt responses to questions. The facility is extremely well maintained and gorgeous. We loved the ease of being on the ground floor being able to just walk right out the back access from the patio area right onto the pool area. The outside living area is huge and very comfortable. We ate our meals outside on the patio table even in the heat of August. Air Conditioning worked great and we were considerate in turning the A/C off when we were going out because electricity is very expensive for the owner and we didn't want to be wasteful. We loved the little restaurant, Mama Mia, next door. We enjoyed happy hour drinks and many meals there and the food was always good, reasonably priced, and the service was attentive. Karaoke night which was fun even if you don't sing. The tables have an ocean view and a lovely breeze in the heat of the time of year we traveled. The walk to Mama Mia is very short along the beach . . . it is just next door. There are several little convenience stores within walking distance which have your typical items like bottled water, cold beer, toiletries, chips, etc. We took the very short bus ride on the main road up the street to the huge La Comer grocery store for about $1.50 USD one way and a taxi for about $7. USD back. We also ate at Sardina Cantina, which is a restaurant within walking distance to the condo, several times mostly for breakfast on our way to the grocery store. The food was good but very noisy on the busy highway, expensive, and extremely hot with no breeze. They should air condition in the heat of the summer especially for the high prices they charge for the food. The condo had everything you need for preparing meals. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms very nice. I loved that there were no shower curtains needed. Ample towels, available washer dryer, and there was also a fresh new sponge still in packaging in the kitchen upon our arrival. The ocean is a bit rough for swimming but was very relaxing to listen to the waves and loved my walks along the beach and using one of the sand chairs provided to sit and read at the water's edge or see the sunrise. Beautiful, large, and very well maintained swimming pools with very warm water were enjoyed by us every day. Hope to stay again when time and finances allow. Thank you Malie

Perfect
We were looking for kid friendly easy access to the pool and beach in San Jose area and this was perfect. The roadway wasn't the best way to walk back to town, but the beach walk was about 15 minutes to the Cynthia's Cafe and El Comer (Mega changed names). The staff of El Zalate were very pleasant. We didn't use the gym or the kayaks, but we did use the pool toys and may have left behind a sand toy or 2. Consider it a gift for ourselves for next time. Only thing that was slightly odd, was the doors in the guest room would rattle when a large wave would crash and shake the beach. Price to pay for staying ON the beach essentially.

Relaxation is yours!
We had an excellent stay at El Zalate, this unit is in the perfect spot! So close to the pools you can throw a rock in them, and they are great! There's a shallow beach like entrance in one for the kiddos and the other two pools are also amazing, don't forget the hot tub! The porch is big and relaxing and although it is close to the pool its rather quiet, the pictures here are older and the fusia Bougainvillea by the railing wall are much, much bigger and really give the porch a lot of privacy. Their beautiful! The grounds are paradise! We really didn't spend much time inside, although my teenage son is a bit of a WiFi junkie, so he definitely took advantage of the great internet connection, great if you need to do business while here or just to research things to do in the area. The beach is right out the gate by the pools, an excellent view! Watch for whales jumping! On Fridays a local comes and sells fish, shrimp and lobster so keep an ear out for them because their rather discreet when announcing. The complex has excellent security and is very safe! We always felt safe when walking to places and the food at the restaurants have the best prices! Lots of close places to eat, and its easy to get a taxi! Malie is great to work with and very responsive to all your questions, you won't regret your decision if you stay here! Note: If you plan to cook in the unit make sure you pick up everything you need! EnJoy!

Great ground floor unit for our family!
We really enjoyed staying in this unit. We loved that our children could come and go because it is a ground floor unit. It was nice to be able to be so close to the pool when we wanted a snack or had to grab something from inside. Would recommend this unit if you plan to visit this complex.

Paradise!
We had a fantastic time in San Jose Del Cabo. The weather was perfect the entire week and the condo is extremely nice. Higher end finishes, comfy beds and baths, and ground floor access right to the pool!!! No slogging up and down stairs every time we needed a refill. Also, you can't beat that they are within walking distance to one of the best restaurants I've been to in a while. Sardina Cantina is right up the hill and to the right. We ate there several times over the week and it was always spot on! I would highly recommend this condo and hope we have the chance to visit again soon!
