Great property and manager, very easy to get along with and helpful. Let us borrow some rods to fish with off site. Because of the rain, the only thing I could have added was a dryer!

Great cabin and hospitality.
The cabin looked great in the VRBO photos and was even better in person. New quality construction, tastefully decorated and well appointed. Quiet with amazing views of the Kenai river. We thought we were in a Normal Rockwell painting.! Richard was as helpful as others have said. Always available to offer tips on fishing without being intrusive. Very patient with novices. Even if you don't catch a single fish, you'll just enjoy being there. We hope to return again in the near future.

Great stay on the Kenai
The cabin was very nice and extremely clean. Two bedrooms upstairs plus bath. One bedroom and bath downstairs. Good layout for families and small groups. Kitchen was well stocked, everything you need to cook. Proprietor has fishing gear down by the river to try your luck with Salmon or Trout. The Kenai is a 2 minute walk off the back patio. Great stay. Would definitely return.

Lovely cabin
Our family stayed here for 4 days and found it to be very clean and easily accommodated our group of 5.
There were plenty of outdoor activities including fishing, lawn games and fire pits.
The owners Richard and Ana were easy to reach and were happy to answer questions and give information about the area.
We’d definitely stay here again if we have a large group.

A Great Alaskan Retreat on the Kenai River
This was a very nice place to stay in Sterling. We definitely wanted something on the Kenai River, and this worked out very well for our group of fishermen. It was easily accessible, not too far off the Sterling Highway, but you felt like you were in remote Alaska. The views of the Kenai River from the deck were great, and being able to fish the Kenai from our own private shoreline was special, especially since the Sockeye run was just getting started. Richard was a great host, and was available for any questions or help. There wer some fires in Alaska, and so there was a burn ban for a while, but when the burn ban was lifted, we got to have a fire in the firepit by the shore as we fished, and that was really nice as we sat and talked and fished and kept the fire going. We had a relaxing time, fished the Kenai and went to Homer for a Halibut charter one day. The cabin was Alaskan with great ambiance. The chest freezer came in handy as did the BBQ on the deck looking out on the Kenai. We brought our own vacuum packer, but Richard had one for us to use if we hadn't brought one. Richard provided nets, stringers, a fish cleaning station by the river, and even some spare rods which one of our group needed since a sockeye broke his rod while we were in King Salmon a few days earlier. We have been coming to Alaska for 20 years and have stayed in Hotels, and quite a few Nightly Rentals including in Homer, Soldatna and Anchorage- this one is one of the best and Richard, our host was great. Just a short walk down the trail from the cabin is shoreline fishing, and the views of the River from the house are really great. You'll have a great time.

Excellent
The cabin was everything we expected and more. They really go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome. Examples: yard games, fishing lessons and equipment and kitchen basics.

Cabin was gorgeous! Jim and family very helpful and friendly. Great trip even though we came between salmon runs. Had baby moose run right through the yard.

Beautiful cabin!
It was a great place to stay & had everything we needed. Only negative thing was that the picture made it look like we were directly on the water but we were up higher on the property. Still had a great view though & would stay there again :)

Awesome!
This photos is slightly misleading, as the cabin we stayed in was not on the water. HOWEVER, the cabin we stayed in was amazing. Clean, well-stocked, updated and right in the middle of nature as you would expect in Alaska. Two couples fit very comfortably and it could even take a large family. Richard and his wife were extremely welcoming and helpful. I can highly recommend this VRBO listing.

THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR!!
Not only was the cabin wonderful, very clean, stocked with everything you could possibly need....the owner was onsite during our stay and provided the most amazing bookings for fishing adventures, gave us onsite lessons for fishing the river which is just steps from the cabin, and made sure we had all we needed to attempt to catch the "BIG ONE". The owner's family was a delight to be with and we look forward to being in Alaska again.

Kenai Cabins
Location, location, location. Few things beat the Kenai Peninsula in summer affectionately know as Alaska's playground. These cabins are in Sterling which is centrally located on the Peninsula, just 20 minutes to Soldotna, about 1 1/2 hrs to Homer or Seward for ocean fishing, wildlife cruises & great sights along the way. All the cabins are excellently maintained, each offering their unique charm. We have stayed may times
over the past 10 years or so enjoying every visit more each time. To me Alaska is a friendly place and the hosts at Kenai River Cabins at Sterling are some of the best by far.
Exceptional value, great views and fishing is outstanding. You will enjoy your stay.

ana's retreat cabin
Five of us stayed here during the sockeye season. The cabin was first rate, fully furnished with individual beds for everyone and two complete bathrooms. Richard and Ana were great hosts and very accomodating. The fishing was great and Richard helped to give us correct techniques to use and which spots were the best ones. It was bank fishing so you did not have to get in the water nor did you have to fish from a platform. There was a cleaning station at the river so you could take care of your fish on the spot. They had a freezer for our use and even bought another because we caught so many fish. These are good people and hopefully we will get to enjoy them again in the future.
