About this house rental
The house is located a five hundred yards upriver on the opposite bank from the Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge, just upstream the Upper River rapids. The living set up is ideal for a romantic couple, a family of 6 or 4-5 friends. Moose, bear, bald eagles, beavers, goats and mountain sheep are commonly seen from the property. Outside there are plentiful wild raspberries in late summer, an outdoor sauna and wade fishing for Rainbows and Dollies.
Wildlife viewing from the property in May can be fantastic before the river opens for fishing. Bald eagles frequently hunt from the trees in the backyard during the early season. The fly fishing for trophy rainbow trout and Dolly Varden on the upper river is tremendous between July and late October. In late September and October silver salmon begin to spawn in the river behind the house.
The fall season in Cooper Landing is arguably the most beautiful time of the year. As the summer season comes to an end the rainbow trout and silver salmon fishing is at its peak as the deciduous trees turn bright yellow and orange.
The Kenai River is open for fishing between June 11th and May 1st. The ADF&G website is a great source of information on the latest fishing regulations.

Wow! That really sums up our family vacation at this gorgeous cabin right on the beautiful, blue Keanai river nestled in a quaint town called Cooper Landing. We couldn’t decide on an Alaskan cruise or a relaxing cabin adventure. We chose the latter and I’m so glad we did! Almost every room has a river view. I loved that I can wash dishes and peacefully stare at the river. It was nice and serene with just the family where we intimately connected with our young adult son and teenager. We did a few fishing excursions where we ventured into fly fishing for the first time and caught over 16 Sockeye Salmon at the Kasilof River and 10 Rock fish off the charter boat in Seward. I’ve never seen so many majestic bald eagles. This really was a dream vacation! Thank you Ryan and Robin for sharing your beautiful cabin with us!

Outstanding property and managers. Could not have asked for more! Right alongside the Kenai River, barely heard any noise from the highway. This place was by far the best property I have ever stayed at. Management answered all questions and more! The washer and dryer were perfect for us! Again, great property, great people and fantastic home base for adventures on the Kenai!

We had a wonderful stay, the pictures and listing were accurate, the wood burning stove was not allowed to be used but we were there in the summer so it really wasn’t necessary. The home and surroundings were amazing

The photos do not give the property justice even though I have the same photos on my phone. The water, the views, the waterfall baby stream, it was all amazing! The furniture was comfortable and the bathrooms were unique and beautiful. Cooper Landing is a reasonable drive to everything on the peninsula. Thank you for a very nice stay!

My wife, two friends and myself stayed at the River House for 8 nights. We were there to fly fish the Kenai River and sightsee/explore the area. The house was the perfect base for us. The view of the river from the house, the outside fire place and sauna were all great to come home to. We have booked for next year and can't wait to go back.

We loved staying here. We had booked this property last year but had to cancel due to sickness in the family. We literally booked our return trip based on the availability of this home. The owners are very easy to work with and honest. It is a great house with a beautiful view. We saw a bald eagle fly over every morning. I will say they are having issues with a few things as far as the kitchen was not very clean and a couple of maintenance issues. I messaged with the owner, he explained a few things (they are in a somewhat remote location and are having difficulty finding reliable help this season.) The other parts of the home were fine, trust me, I checked. Don't let this stop you from staying here. He will work with you if you find anything and the issues were solved quickly and we went on to have a great 4 day stay.

We want to stay here again. This place was so beautiful the location is perfect it makes you not even know a TV exists. You can just sit and watch the River for hours. It’s a perfect location for fishing, pictures, fires families and everything. Coming back and Ryan and Robin were great. Thank you!!!

Amazing!!!
A beautiful house in the perfect location! Cannot recommend enough. Clean, well stocked, large but still cozy, great sauna, and the most amazing view in all of Cooper Landing. Fish right out of your own back yard. We’ll be back for sure, one of the best places we’ve stayed.

Beautiful home on the river
We loved our stay at The River House. We saw salmon jumping and many bald eagles and our favorite spot was watching the river from the den. Ryan was very responsive and helpful as was the property manager, Michael. You could not ask for a better vacation home in Alaska. Thank you for your hospitality, Ryan.

Beautiful Place - Weird Experience
The home was absolutely gorgeous and we loved being right on the river with a cute fire pit and beautiful home. We had an interesting interaction with the property manager. We requested early check in and he said we could arrive early and be by the river while they finished up by 3pm (1 hour early). We arrived around 2:30 and were informed of how he had been drinking tequila on his way to the property and it seemed like him and the crew were partying at the house while getting it ready for us. They were Sun bathing on the deck, drawing on each other in the house and asking us what the person drew on them, jumping in the river and running across the yard in underwear. They left and said goodbye and we assumed they would
Be leaving but he freely walked back into the house and almost seemed like they wanted to stay and hang out. Super nice people but very weird and off putting experience when we were wanting to have privacy and relax.

From the moment I stepped inside I felt like I was home. Very comfortable furnishings. Everything situated to enhance the view of the river. The perfect place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The multiple bald eagles nearby was a bonus.

The perfect place
Our family, four adults and two toddlers, stayed here for 10 days and we didn’t want to leave. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable, relaxing stay. Drinking coffee while taking in the view of the river every morning was one of our favorite things. We fished the river and caught Dolly Varden and Rainbow trout. We also saw many Bald Eagles from the property. The owners were fast to respond whenever we messaged them. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect Spot! Stunning Views!
The River House was one of my favorite places we've ever stayed! The view from the back deck is STUNNING. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with everything you'd need for cooking. My family really enjoyed the fire pit down by the river. The photos really don't do this place justice :) We'll definitely be back!

Perfect place for a family!
Our family stayed here and this property was perfect! It was nice and very clean! It looks just like the pictures. We enjoyed watching the Kenai River from the several windows and the deck! It was a great springboard to other places as well! We traveled to Seward and Soldotna and saw several moose along the way! Also, Cooper Landing is a great place to stay! We were very close to fishing and rafting trips on the Kenai River!
We would definitely stay here again!

It was a short visit but we enjoyed the house. The river is the reason we stayed and the views were incredible. Two brothers diner down the street was great and we enjoyed the hike down the Russian river to the falls. Great location for solid activity.

Best Location in Cooper Landing!
We absolutely love The River House! We stayed there back in 2013 with our kids and thought the location and house, itself, were ideal for us. My husband and I came back to Cooper Landing by ourselves this year and just had to stay there again. We weren't disappointed at all....the house brought back a lot of fond memories, yet there has also been updating within. The kitchen and bathrooms were very nice. Of course, our favorite room was the sunroom overlooking the river. Just spectacular. Ryan was excellent at communicating with us and made us feel very welcome. The house is very clean, well maintained and has all the comforts of home. I appreciated the "little" touches you don't always have in a VRBO. We hope to someday bring our kids and grandkids back to Cooper Landing and stay at the River House. It truly is a special place. Thank you.

Cooper’s landing is the perfect location if you are doing multiple activity on the peninsula. And this house worked perfect for us. We did multiple hike within less than a 30 minute drive. It was wonderful to have the big picture windows framing up the gorgeous view of the Kenai river! We stocked up with groceries fromCostco and Fred Meyer in anchorage before heading out to the peninsula. That was very helpful!!There is a sauna which we did not use.We did build a fire in the fire pit one night! So relaxing to sit by the fire and gaze at the river!!!If you are a fisherman, you can fish right off the back by the house!!We would stay here again if we come back!

Stop searching - stay here!
We had a wonderful time at Ryan and Robin’s house in Cooper Landing. The house worked perfectly for our group of 4 with lots of space for everyone. The house was clean, everything worked well and the internet was usable for us to work - video chat wasn’t great, but that was fine. Netflix worked well. Views of the river never got old. If you’re looking for the best (but hard) hike in the area, head to Slaughter Gulch via Juneau Trail.

We had great time at this house. By far the cleanest house we’ve ever stayed for the vacation. Right on the river, had a moose visit, the views are amazing!!!! Owners are very thought and available in case of any questions! Definitely recommend!!!!!!
