The house was smaller than I expected. The layout was not ideal for our needs. It was quite a walk to the beach. I was disappointed that there was no boardwalk over the sand dune. The pool area was very nice!The dryer did not work (we discovered this late in the week) and the screen doors kept coming off the tracks.

We just spent a wonderful week with friends in this house. It provided plenty of space for 7 adults with lots of room to spare!! Very clean, nicely updated, wonderful game room and outdoor pool area. The patio sliding glass door out to the pool could probably be repaired or replaced (it's a tough slider) and we would recommend renting a golf cart -- if only for assistance to/from the beach (although it is also a fun way to get around town). The walk to the beach is not a far (maybe 200 yards to the sand dune), which isn't bad but it is a gravel/stone road and in the heat/humidity by the time you get the to dunes it can be quite exhausting, especially if pulling a cart -- and then there is the hike up and over the sand dune in very soft sand...definitely a workout -- so the golf cart was definitely a plus in transporting us and our belongings to the beach! With that said, we highly recommend this rental and would most definitely rent this house again.

House and pool were great, beach was awesome!! Downsides, a lot of stairs in house, no fenced in area for dogs to potty, walk to beach was about 2 blocks on gravel, no food delivery other than pizza, and had to drive about half hour away to get to any activities other than shopping.

We loved the house and the short walk to the beach. Our family had a great time and loved the spacious table. We would definitely go back. It was mostly clean but few negatives the blankets smelled a little off, the baby gate was no where to be found, the grill was filthy and the spiders own the night.

This house is in major need of a deep clean, pest control & TLC! It was like the home was opened for the year & never cleaned. So many cob webs, dust & pet hair from a long period of time.
I have never experienced so many spiders in my life...& I’m from the country! We also experienced these mosquito type bugs called “midges” apparently? Which was out of anyone’s control, I understand. But overall, pest control is needed.
For the price we paid, the house needs some TLC to give it a more welcoming feel.
Also, the latch at the pool was broken. Clearly it has been that way for a while.
The house overall is a great home with potential. It’s close to the beach. The pool, hot tub & pool table were lots of fun. The golf cart was so convenient. The rooms & amenities were very accommodating for my family. However, we do not intend to stay here again due to the overall uncleanliness.
Rental company was great to work with through the rental process & helping with the “midges” situation.
I answered below “no” I would not recommend this house to a friend. If it were cleaned up then yes, I would.

The owner needs to read this...
We just got back this morning from our week stay at the property. I’d like to start off by saying that the house was very nice... good location, enough room for everyone, pool and hot tub were fantastic and clean. Everything the advertisement said was included was provided. We arrived as scheduled and we were able to get into the house around 5:00 pm. The rest of this review isn’t the fault of the owner but the rental company that takes care of this house. The house was filthy... old spider webs on everything, the house was full of flys and little gnat type bugs, and the whole house smelled like weed (we had little kids with us, so that wasn’t cool). It was pretty obvious that the house wasn’t really cleaned before we got there. Again... I’d like to stress that the house was great... unfortunately the company that they have clean this house did a poor job, which was disappointing because the house is really nice. If the owner of the house is reading this, they need to reconsider staying with this company. Once those issues get ironed out, this house would be perfect, and I’d absolutely return to the same property. Outside of having to clean the spider webs and kill bugs inside the house, we had a great trip. This review is more for the owner to know how their home is being managed and hopefully anyone else reading this will consider that when making their choice on renting this place.

There were several problems dishwasher part broken; toilet unsteady; mold on show head in second floor hall bathroom as well as a clogged drain in tub on 2nd floor (my daughter in law cleaned out the hair etc. in the tub drain).Repairs reported on Tuesday & were not addressed until Friday. However we have signed a lease for one week in 2020.

The property could have been a nice place to stay had it been cleaned and sprayed for bugs. the grass was not mowed for weeks and was 2 ft tall. Making it very difficult for our small dogs to even walk in the grass. It also made it an area that attracted snakes to keep cool and we saw 2 within our first day. The bugs and spiders were so bad that we were unable to enjoy any of the outdoor areas. We had to clean the pool area ourselves and the furniture as it was covered in cob webs and spiders. The white fence was also filthy and we had to take the water hose to try and clean it so we could at least use the pool. We did not go on vacation to work but had to in order to use the pool area. I had to call 3 times about the grass and it finally got mowed mid-week. It is obvious that the property is not being maintained well. I feel for the owners as I am sure that they are entrusting the rental company to fulfill this for them.

The home was in a great location initial check in was rough as Home was full of flys and yard full of pet waste attracting them and trash was overflowing. We spent first night securing trash and cleaning up yard and killing flys inside to get it under control. Grill was filthy and missing cleaning brush. We bought one and left it with grill. Some beds slept terrible especially the lowest level and King bedroom. It can be a nice place if more attention to detail was given. Oh and we fixed the lowest level toilet which needed a flush kit upon check in. Makes me wonder how good the cleaning crew actually is with everything we experienced first day.

The space was perfect for our group of friends. Loved having a pool, hot tub, and beach just a quick walk away. The upper deck had great views of the sound. It was a quick drive to the Duck Town Center area and the location made it easy to experience the other towns like Corolla and Kitty Hawk. The staff and owner were amazing. When the property was missing its cornhole game, they credited my account enough money to rent a set from Kitty Hawk Kites. Also, I loved being able to my dog there!
