About this house rental
❤️❤️New kitchen , 2 system central AC and Heat , parking spot , Master bath and deck installed in 2021 New patio in Spring 2021 to include a Solo stove more outdoor enjoyment ❤️❤️
We welcome you to our cute historic row house on one of the most coveted areas in all of the Historic District !You will be delighted by this one of a kind home located right in the heart of Downtown Annapolis. We have been a full time vacation rental since 2011 and have loved hosting hundreds of groups ,families and friends coming to visit the city that I'm proud to call my hometown. With the tear down of the only garage downtown we now have rented out a coveted personal parking spot one block away . 99% of properties in town do not have parking and cannot provide street passes so this is a real selling point if your looking for convenience . City garages ( the major one is closed till mid 2023 ) are $25 a day and local hotel valet starts at $40.... Parking is at a premium on our little city so we are thrilled to be able to offer this to our guests !!
Built in 1845 and renovated in 2008 (while keeping our period touches in order to stay on Historic Register ) and freshly painted ( exterior and interior with new flooring And furniture in 2019 ) this home retains much of its original charm while having all of the needs of modern day living and designed to be a clean comfortable affordable home away from home for an affordable price . One of the most photographed homes in town, it is located two blocks from the Main st , City dock , and USNA . Charles is an exclusive, QUIET , one way residential only street. Recently chosen as the location for filming of a special for The History Channel ( May 2012) we have also been chosen as one of the select Capital Newspapers 'Homes of the Week' (Oct 8, 2011) as well as one of the exclusive properties for The Historic Foundations ' Candlelight Tour ' Our home has a great location without all of the noise from traffic or the late night bar scene yet you and your guests can absolutely walk to everything you want or need from this property. Spend the day at the private park at the end of the street and watch the sailboats cruise by or walk to town for some sightseeing, shopping, a Navy game, sailing or one of the numerous award winning restaurants. You may even meet some famous people on your walk home-our house is right around the corner from TV personality Greta Van Susteren and across the creek from famous director Barry Levinson. Last summer baseball star Cal Ripken was spotted numerous times paddle boarding down at the park as he is also renting a house very nearby !
Located directly in the middle of all of the historic churches, this home is an ideal option for out of town wedding parties and guests. Once you compare hotel rates in town you will find that that renting a full house is a wonderful alternative-this is your chance be an Annapolitan !( Yes, that is a real term for a local :)
After a full day you will be sure to enjoy your downtime when you arrive home. Wide plank wood floors,a copper tin ceiling and period reclaimed wood doors are only some of the interesting period features you will admire. Decorated by a local art dealer and gallery owner this home contains many unsual, one of a kind pieces by artists you will might recognize . The custom made dining room table is large enough to accommodate all of the house guests or you may choose to grill ( brand new summer 2021 ) outside on the very private deck Relax after dinner on our outdoor set - If your lucky maybe the neighborhood ducks will swing by for a visit. It's a great quiet spot with great neighbors . Please note we do have a shared wall so this is not a party property or a good fit for loud groups , Bach events etc . We host couples , couple groups and families .
This home sleeps six very comfortably and we are a certified rental property through the City of Annapolis . The first floor master suite has a queen bed and desk while the two upstairs guest bedrooms contain a king and two extra long twin beds with totally empty closet space and drawers. As we are a year round rental you will not be inconvenienced by having to squeeze your luggage and things among owners jeans, toys and old prom dresses :) In the kitchen we have a large welcome book along with local maps and menus to get you aquainted to our lovely town. If you have and specific concerns, questions or requests please don't hesitate to call or shoot me an email. We have been locals here for many many years and should be able to answer just about anything!
We have been a full time vacation rental for over ELEVEN ( Wow - time flies )years and have had the pleasure of renting our home for countless special events such as reunions, couples get -away weekends, weddings,St Johns College events, Navy games and Commissioning week, parent weekends, boat show ,sailing regattas and Maryland state legistators. We are booking up extremely quickly for 2022 Please check our calender for pricing and availability and we hope you consider our property for your next stay in Annapolis. We reserve the right to have three night or week minimums for special events such as Navy Games , Commissioning week and Sailboat show.
***The property next door will be renovated at some point in 2024 ****. Should not be much affect on us but we want our guests to know .

Location was great. Good space, well-stocked kitchen with pots/pans. Only complaint was I wish bathrooms were a little bigger and beds/sofa was a little more comfortable.

Great location with parking nearby and within walking distance to Main St in the historic district

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay over last week while taking our son to Plebe Summer. Owner was very responsive and helpful. Perfect location...quick walk to downtown and USNA and water. Will be back. Thank you

This property provides a great place to stay, within walking distance to everything to see and do in downtown Annapolis. The fact that it comes with a reserved parking place is an extra, but very special bonus, making visiting Annapolis even better.

The property is in a great location and having a parking space nearby was key! The only issues we had were bees under the front porch that we called the owner about and no hot water in the upstairs bathroom sink that we didn’t really use due to mineral buildup .. we had a great stay.

This was a great stay. Felt very welcomed and could walk to everything
Thank you Megan

This place was amazing! We loved our stay at this downtown home. Such a short walk to all the action in downtown Annapolis. The house is clean and has plenty of space. The host was very quick to communicate. Just a great experience!

We are three couples who enjoy an annual friends trip. This year we chose Annapolis. The house is in the middle of everything, walking distance to all the attractions. Nicely decorated with all you need. We would stay here again.

This charming home is in a wonderful neighborhood. Met many neighbors while walking the four legged traveler to the dog park at the end of the street!! We felt very welcome and safe.
Walking distance to town so leave your car parked n the assigned parking about 1 block away. Very convenient.
Kitchen is a very well appointed. Bath essentials also provided.
Will stay again if I find myself in Annapolis. Only wish it was available for the Annapolis boat shows.

Everything great…. Parking is the only thing that is not ideal but I think the way it is in Annapolis

The home’s location was perfect for our group.
Small changes would help very much to make the stay even better.
The curb appeal needed a refresh. Mildewed pillow on bench, dead flowers in pot, holiday decorations part of window boxes and paint needed on stairs -greet a renter.
The rugs ,which surely get much wear, felt dirty. Sofa needed a cleaning too.
The kitchen had all we wanted. It and the bathrooms were clean and well stocked.
The outdoor rugs and cushions were mildewed which made the deck uninviting.
We face all these same challenges in our home climate. We mention it only to let you know what we saw as guests.

Beautiful townhome in downtown Annapolis! We were able to walk to almost all of the activities we had planned for our stay in Annapolis. We will definitely return.

We were part of a wedding group where many of us rented houses. All the other house were more modern and updated while 86 Charles St was old and in need of being updated. Loose flooring in kitchen, small older TV, strange closets all gave us a disappointing experience. We visited the house our friends rented which were all more modern and more spacious.

Great location, walking distance to many spots and even has its own parking spot. Highly recommend it.

We had a very nice stay at this home in Annapolis. Very convenient and short walk to the village, everything promised on the web site was delivered. Would return here again as its a great alternative to staying in DC. We drove to the Metro station in Landover and took the subway from there. In Annapolis, try the Pork Ossobuco at Dry 85. AMAZING!!!!

This property was conveniently located and very clean! Having a parking space was a great bonus too! Checkin/out was very straightforward and I would highly recommend this property!

My husband and I loved this home. Our dog did too! It had enough room for us to spread out and enjoy the space. It was an easy walk to all the shops, restaurants and naval academy and we loved the quiet, clean waterfront park a block from the house. Thank you Megan! It was a great getaway!

This property is conveniently located and absolutely adorable! Host was incredibly accommodating and responsive. A wonderful, well appointed location for a wedding weekend.

We were all VERY happy with this VRBO. Decorated very nicely and up to date. All the amenities you could possibly need. Kitchen and bathrooms very well stocked with everything you would need. The fire pit in the backyard was so nice and the wood was there and ready for us. Easy walk into town, too. We never used our cars! Would highly recommend!

We stayed for a week over Thanksgiving. It was the perfect house for our holiday getaway to visit with friends and family. We had our dog with us and the home was perfect for all of us. We loved the location (so close to downtown and a great nearby park to walk our dog). The home was well-appointed and it felt like home. We love Annapolis and this was the perfect place to stay. We hope to return again. Thank you!

A great place to stay for a getaway with friends in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood with easy walking access to historic Annapolis. Megan quickly responded to any questions or concerns and was a pleasure to work with. It was well stocked, clean and comfortable. Would love to book again!

Great location to walk to downtown. Plenty of space for myself, my husband and toddler. If bringing a toddler I’d suggest maybe brining a child’s gate for the stairs - but we’re overly cautious. House was clean and as described/pictured. Having the parking spot was also a great inclusion. We’ll stay here again for sure!

We loved this property. It was perfect and location was ideal. Most importantly, it had a convenient parking spot. Parking in Annapolis is impossible for non residents.

Great location!
This was the perfect place for our stay. We were in town for a wedding and could walk everywhere we needed to go. The parking instructions included at the house were so helpful!

Thanks
All was good but there is no 5 minute walk to any academy gate.

Six of us were in town for a wedding and this house was perfect for us! It was nice and spacious for us and is in a great location, walking distance to everything! I highly recommend it and would definitely rent again when coming to Annapolis!

This house is a dream! I loved the town of Annapolis before, but now having lived in the prime location of this charming home for the past two weeks, I have fallen even more in love with this town than ever! Taking daily walks around this idyllic neighborhood to see the beautifully maintained historic homes, strolling down the lovely main street in town, walking to the corner store for a bottle of wine with dinner, exploring the bountiful restaurants, watching boats sail past from various waterside locales nearby, touring the fascinating Naval Academy, and enjoying the museums and galleries tucked throughout this area...we wouldn't change a thing. Our time in Pink Door Annapolis, as we affectionately call this place, will long be a special memory for me and my entire family! The owner is one of the best we've encountered--kind, responsive, lovely--thank you for sharing your home with us--we are so grateful for our time here! I'm sitting on the shady patio by the fire pit out back now, planning how to best enjoy the last few days of our stay. Perfectly decorated, well-equipped, beautifully laid out, impeccably clean, and ideally located...I could go on and on about this house. If you have a chance to rent this home and fall in love with Annapolis all at the same time, you won't regret it!

Had an amazing time at this home in Annapolis. I love old homes and this one had tons of character and an amazing location right downtown. Parking a HUGE plus

There were four adults staying in this historic townhouse and truly the best thing about this property is the location. We easily walked to the downtown dock area as well as the Naval Academy and the owner did provide parking passes for both cars (one was in a nearby lot and the other was for street parking - right in front of the property). With parking being an overall challenge in Annapolis, these were invaluable to us. We did stay here during the week, so parking at other times could be more problematic.
The two biggest concerns we had with this house were the upstairs bathroom and the stairs leading upstairs. We understand the need for an owner to offer a bathtub in the house, but if it were replaced with a shower and a vanity that has some space to put things on, it would have been much more usable. I had to put all of my toiletries on the beds in the small bedroom next to this bathroom. Additionally, there are carpet strips on the stairs and several of them were loose making it a possible hazard for someone not paying attention to how they’re walking. This can be an easy fix for the owner with a carpet runner or strips nailed down.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and as long as you’re prepared for a teeny tiny upstairs bathroom, you’ll enjoy all that the house has to offer.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this quaint, comfortable, lovingly restored, and nicely decorated historic house. The neighborhood is blissfully quiet--a perfect escape from the city--yet it is about as close to the shops, restaurants, and museums of Annapolis as one could be. Inside, the modern kitchen and well-appointed rooms contained everything we needed for a pleasant stay. I wish we could have stayed longer!
