About this cottage rental
Georgia On My Mind is a four bedroom home close to the beach and the sound. It is well equipped with everything you will need for an enjoyable beach vacation. Our kitchen is fully stocked with all kinds of gear including a coffeemaker, Kuerig, a toaster, and plenty of pots and pans. Each bedroom has its own closet or dresser so you can unpack and feel right at home. Outside we have a nice secluded patio set, hammock hooks, and gas and charcoal grill to cook out. There is even a play shed in the backyard with a chalkboard wall, toys, games and couches for the kids!
For outdoor activities, the house is equipped with a new golf cart ( $200 rental added to your booking fee), 4 bikes, 4 paddle boards, and two kayaks. It is a short walk to the ocean and just one block to the sound and marina where you can put our kayaks and paddle boards right into the water and enjoy a day of exploring the sound side. There are numerous shopping and dining options close by or within a short driving distance by car or golf cart! Our beach house is in a perfect area to enjoy all aspects of Carolina Beach. The ocean, the beach, the sound, the shopping, and the dining are all within reach when you stay at Georgia On My Mind!

We had a great time staying here. We had high hopes for the outdoor area but honestly ended up mainly using the main house area. The kids play area was a bit dirty and moldy/musty that the kids didn’t even want to use it, but

Our family of 8 (ranging from ages 14 months to 68 years old) enjoyed this beautiful home. Our fur baby did as well. It is close to the beach and with the use of the golf cart, a lot of shops and restaurants are easily accessible. Unfortunately with Tropical Storm Debby we had a lot of wind and rain during our stay. Therefore, we didn’t get to spend much time on the beach but I’m sure it is wonderful also.

Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay. The property was clean and well-stocked, and the host was very responsive with every question I had. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, and having quality linens provided was great (along with some TP and paper towels to get us started). Carolina Beach is a little busier than other beaches we've visited (this was our first trip there), and you do need a parking pass to park anywhere near the beach or boardwalk. The included golf cart DOES have a parking sticker, so that was helpful, but it only seats 4 adults, so keep that in mind. The separate bedroom was a little tricky for us because our daughter slept there and the power went out in the middle of our first night (there is a warning posted about this possibility, but it happened twice before we realized it was more of a certainty and likewise adjusted when we had the golf cart plugged in). She was especially panicked because I had locked the house out of habit and she couldn't get in. Because there is only one house key, I didn't feel comfortable leaving it with her, so instead we left the house unlocked at night in case she needed us. Perhaps the hosts might consider a keypad lock or an extra house key since this is a known issue with the power. The provided kayaks were great (we didn't have a chance to use the paddle boards). There was no beach umbrella and the only chairs were camp chairs, so you need to bring your own if you want those. Lots of toys and boogie boards, though!

Very clean and organized home! We had everything we needed. Teens stayed entertained with kayaks, SUP boards, boogie boards, and bikes! The golf cary was great to get around in too! The kitchen was well equipped for cooking needs and the washer and dryer came in handy. Great stay! Thank you!

My family and I loved our time at this property! We loved how the outdoor area was private with the use of plants which was unique from the other properties in the area! The kids loved the outdoor area and play shed. The home was close to the beach and provided all the amenities you would need for your stay there. We would absolutely stay there again if we go back to Carolina beach. We miss it already!

Our stay in Carolina Beach was great. We had a few children with us which there were plenty of items at the house to keep them entertained. The Carolina Beach pier was a short walk or golf cart ride away which was great for both kids and adults. The location was was convenient to what we needed while also being pretty quiet at night. This house had everything we needed and wanted, we very much enjoyed our stay!

This truly a beautiful, thoughtfully appointed, family and four-legged friend, friendly cottage. The ocean and sound are easily accessed on foot, by bike, golf cart or a short drive (a few blocks). I only wish we had more time to relax and enjoy the cottage amenities (firepit, eating outside, hanging out on the screened in porch) and explore the local area, though we did make it to the NC Aquarium, Fort Fisher AWD beach access, and took the ferry to Southport for a day. We had a great week staying in this home away from home! The house was cozy and well-maintained, with comfortable furnishings that made it feel like a home away from home. The proximity to the beach is convenient. The house's amenities were functional and met our families basic needs and more! The overall experience very enjoyable, and we appreciated the peaceful atmosphere of the location! Bonus points for the golf cart! It made getting to the beach and boardwalk super easy!

We enjoyed our stay at Georgia on my mind. It truly has everything you need to spend a week at the beach relaxing. The kitchen is very well-appointed, with lots of cookware and appliances available for use. It’s just a quick walk or golf cart ride to the beach. We had a great week here. We loved the fenced in property for our granddaughter and grandpup, and the house had everything we needed (we like cooking at home often when on vacation). The home was nicely decorated and I especially enjoyed the little room off the dining room for relaxing. And the golf cart was great for getting our group to and from the nearby beach.

This is a great property with great amenities. The house was clean. Everything we needed for a relaxing family vacay was provided, from housewares to toys for both adults and children. My family took full advantage of the paddleboards, bikes and golf cart. There are even chairs, large beach totes and beach wagon to use. The lot is on a quiet street, close to beach access and canal access. The yard provides privacy and plenty of seating. The bed in the primary bdrm is too soft but that is personal preference only. We were not able to access the playroom but we only had 1 child in our group so it wasn't a negative issue for us. Housekeeping was still on premises at 4pm (check-in) but the owner answered the inquiring call on the 1st ring. For the price...this house & amenities are hard to beat!

Overall the house and property were extremely nice with high quality amenities from the bedding/furniture to the kitchen utensils. The house is well maintained and clean. We spent the weekend for a wedding, The accommodations were perfect for our family! Clean, well organized and very kid friendly! I loved the play area, it provided many different toys, books and even adult toys like giant bowling pins and giant Jenga. The hidden gem was the sun room has a pull out bed and it gave everyone a space to watch different movies at the end of a busy day. We did not have an opportunity to utilize the bikes or kayaks but will definitely do the next visit. Also they have a golf cart you can rent which is definitely a great way to get around Carolina Beach.

- the golf cart is a great feature. Super quick to get to the beach without the hassle of walking in the heat lugging all your gear! The house is a bit of a walk to the beach, so def get the golf cart
- the kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, toasters, cups, cooking utensils, etc. We cooked a ton.
- the property has great outdoor space with a picnic table and seating, and a fire pit. There is a ton of shade, too, which is nice. It can use some TLC to cut back the overgrowth and clean up the fallen leaves, berries, etc. Also, there are a TON of mosquitos. My son and I are mosquito magnets so within 5 minutes we were eaten alive.
- we really enjoyed the paddle boards. You can take them down to the marina and drop in (hang a right out of the house and follow the curve to the left)
- the outdoor shower was great to clean up before heading in. It even has hot water, which is a bonus.
- we only used two bedrooms, and the beds in the first and larger rooms were comfortable. The bedroom downstairs is detached, I probably wouldn't have used it. It's nice but smells like an old basement

Love the location to the beach
This was a great house for hanging out with family (both inside and outside). The use of the golf cart, kayaks, bikes and more was a total plus! And could not go wrong with the short walking distance to the beach! We loved the cozy under roof patio too. Also, Bob was fantastic at responding when we needed to be in contact with him upon our arrival. Thanks so much for your time and energy. Graduation Getaway Multi-Generational
Family gathering for UNCW graduation celebration. The house has enough cozy spaces to be together but not all in one living room. The front porches are beautiful place to read, have a cup of coffee. Kitchen is really well equipt. We cooked meals for 10. Great dining table for meals and game night.
Ground level under the house has the BEST patio, play yard, sunning chaise. Secret garden. The ONLY thing I’d change is mattress in first floor bedroom. Not comfy. On the positive, there is a sleeper sofa on a sun porch that I missed in the description.
Rent the golf cart. Our family enjoyed evening rides around the neighborhood. Easy walk to beach and waterway.
I’d rent this house again. Decorations are very well thought out throughout the whole house.

Wonderful place for families
The only thing I’d say is that I wasn’t expecting the 4th bedroom to be completely separate from the rest of the house and to smell horribly of mold. Everything else was great - and we made due with the three beds. Would stay here again - but I wouldn’t count on using that fourth bedroom.

Upstairs was beautiful and as advertised… loved the large family table and comfortable living area. Disappointed with downstairs bedroom. Bed extremely uncomfortable. Linens, mattress topper, and a good clean would go a long way. Lovely outdoor area but needed attention. Would have loved using the golf cart that was part of the package I purchased.

We enjoyed our time. The patio property we could not use downstairs it is mildewed. We had planned a birthday party for the 14 yr old. She was a little disappointed. I left my lap top charger in the master bedroom is it possible for you to send it. If necessary I’ll pay postage. It will be cheaper than buying one. Amenities are oversold
The upstairs interior was well appointed with the major issues being a very small master shower and toilet that needs to be repaired or replaced. The master bed was extremely uncomfortable with no support as there was no box springs on an old coil mattress.
For the exterior, the golf cart had a bald tire, failing brakes, a tail light out and wouldn't hold a charge. The downstairs furniture was filthy and unusable unless you want to clean it. The string lights on the upper deck didn't work. The backyard is very overgrown and unusable. The firepit had no wood and no seating.
The downstairs bedroom isn't really suitable for adults and subpar compared to the upstairs living space.
Overall, the interior was one of the most well appointed rentals we have ever stayed in but more attention needs to be paid to the advertised amenities.

Very nice,warm, welcoming home. My daughter & grandchildren enjoyed our stay very much. Loved being close to the beach. Younger grandchildren enjoyed playhouse and bikes below the house. Only complaint was condition of area below the house...Wooden play area, Adirondack chairs deteriorating (wood rotting). Some areas not cleaned up from previous renters.

This house is perfect for dogs and toddlers! It's nice and comfortable, without making you worry every minute that someone is going to break something or get hurt. The lower area is fenced so that tots and dogs can explor, and a canopy of trees and vines surrounds you for privacy and cool.

Home away from home....only better!
Beautiful home and neighborhood! Everything you need is in the house already! My teens enjoyed the freedom of riding the bikes at the house to the boardwalk and the beach. We took long walks around the neighborhood mornings and evenings. Everyone was so friendly in the neighborhood and it was such a family oriented area that we let our kids out on their own to explore. We will be back!
