About this cottage rental

This newly renovated 1910 century home is located just minutes from the heart of downtown in one of the most charming and quiet areas of Calgary. Walk, ride or train to any of Calgary's attractions easily from this centrally located cottage. The two bedrooms are well appointed luxurious spaces that can comfortably sleep 4. The bathroom has heated floors and a rain shower. The kitchen is a chefs dream with stainless steel appliances, gas stove, dishwasher, washer/dryer and fridge with ice maker for those happy hour drinks on the deck while watching the local commuters ride or walk home from work. Everything is new in this lovely home. The front yard is fenced and private with a great deck with BBQ and fire pit for entertaining or relaxing. Groceries, liquor, and baking are available from either local/organic shops or large chains only a block away. The bright living/dining area has large SMART TV, stereo, bar and dining for 6-8 people.

This cottage was absolutely perfect. So well appointed inside and the front porch and garden were wonderful to sit, relax and meet all the neighbourhood dogs. The location was ideal as so much was in walking distance and the neighbourhood is lovely. Great hists aswell.

This was our second long-term summer stay. We had great walks and bike rides from here and walked to Safeway and lots of restaurants. The cottage is well-supplied with everything we needed. Thanks again Cathy and Tim. See you next year.

I had a very nice stay. Felt very comfortable and homey. Sunny Side is a very nice area and an easy walk to a variety of restaurants and dog walking. If the weather hadn’t been so coldI think I would have done much more walking in to the city core just across the river.

This property was a direct reflection of the surrounding beauty of Calgary with its many parks and biking trails. The home was clean, well stocked with ever appliance and utensils for preparing your own food. The neighborhood is quiet and in a perfect location to access downtown, local shops and the trail system. The hosts were available when needed. We wish we had planned on staying longer. We hope to return to this home someday and will recommend to our friends.

Our trip to Calgary, from BC, was for my hip replacement surgery. We chose to stay at the Urban Cottage Oasis because we wanted a comfortable, home-away-from-home feeling instead of being in a hotel. It is all on one level, has high beds and high bar stools in the kitchen, all of which I needed post-surgery. There were grocery stores at a convenient distance, and my husband enjoyed some good walks straight from the Cottage. This rental home did not disappoint: the beds were comfortable, the couches too, the kitchen well-appointed for our needs and it served us well. We’re grateful to the owner for her flexibility and allowing me to use crutches and a walker in her home.

This location was perfect. The town was adorable. The cottage was just right for us and we even enjoyed the front porch heater with our coffee. The owner was in the unit right below us and was very helpful. Everything is so close and convenient. I wish I had more time to enjoy all of the restaurants and sites.

Myself, my husband and my two daughters (4 and 2) stayed for three nights. The property was exactly as pictured with all the amenities needed. The location is amazing with restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance and close to downtown with short drives to all the locations we visited. Home was clean and owners were very responsive. Will definitely be staying here when we come back to Calgary!!

First time staying at this cottage but will probably be back. The location was absolutely perfect close to downtown and the river. Beds were super comfortable and the cottage has more than the basic neccesseties available. Easy checkin and checkout. Thanks so much for a awesome weekend!ps. Check out the loop out trail just at the end of the street at night it looks over the whole city!!

This was a wonderful home for our six-week summer visit to Calgary. Thanks to Tim and Cathy for a great stay. The home is very well-equipped, and we loved the front porch. The cottage is an easy walk to everything -- restaurants, bars, Safeway, Prince's Island Park and downtown. We'll be back!

The house and location were perfect. Comfortably furnished with great linens and bed. Lovely outdoor porch and so handy for the train which arrives every few minutes to go downtown and to the Stampede. Fantastic hosts and an awesome neighbourhood. Can’t believe how lucky we were finding Tim and Cathy’s place, it made our trip very special.

We absolutely loved the quaint cottage feel of this vintage home in Sunnyside! Lovely, homey and clean! The house was stocked with all of the essentials and more! We loved spending time outside on the private deck - enjoying the birds, squirrels, trees and passers by!

Wow. My first time booking with Cathy (and VRBO) and neither disappointed! The house is centrally located and within walking distance of everything you may need. A historical home that is newly renovated and very well appointed. We hosted Thanksgiving dinner and everything we needed was there (we brought the turkey 😊). Parking was great. House was so well kept. Will definitely book again. Thank you Cathy!

Great location for us to meet up with family and friends living in SW and NW. Good place for our older Dog who needs a little more TLC than a kennel can give. Cottage is beautiful and we were happy to stay there!

Clean, well appointed in great location. Walk couple blocks to restaurants, grocery, train. Safe neighborhood. Lovely deck with flower wall. Beds very comfortable. Only recommendations would be fans for bedrooms as it gets hot without central air and in need of new couch.

Absolutely great place! Elegant, spacious, well appointed, very clean. In one of the best neighbourhoods in the city, steps from the train and Kensington road. The best place we've ever rented in Calgary - would recommend highly - would come again!

Unfortunately I had to cancel my flight at the last minute, so this review is based on my parents' experience, who stayed without me: Very well equipped kitchen, super clean, sidewalks were always cleared, great location close to lots of restaurants and shopping. We would book it again in a heartbeat. Small communication issue with checking in, but that was more to do with a glitch on VRBO. Otherwise, Cathy was super communicative and helpful with everything! Thanks for everything!

This property was everything it said it would be and more. Cathy and Tim were amazing hosts and even helped us set up for a graduation celebration. The yard was perfect for my little dog and anything you needed was onsite. We will be back again!

This was a quaint, clean, easy to access and well-supplied home. We enjoyed our stay and spent a lot of time wandering the neighborhood, shopping and eating at all the great places close by. We would definitely stay again.

From the moment we walked in it was warm, cozy and rocking.location. Coffee on demand amazing as was the furniture to the bedding. Very serene home. We were here for a family wedding and I was able to host my nieces, mother and sister morning of the wedding with breakfast, music and hair and makeup. We have travelled quite extensively and this was top 5. We will be back

Neighbourhood is particularly good for young kids as there is lots of green space, parks and dogs! There is a business operating in the basement, which has its own entrance. During business hours the operators can be heard but are not disruptive. We hope to stay here regularly when visiting Calgary.
