Family of 6 adults & our little dog had a wonderful time together in this well laid out and well equipped home. We were able to have 3 people working remotely reliably and comfortably. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare all our meals. Although spring came early to VT the scenery was beautiful and hiking provided a good alternative to skiing/sledding/skating. (Yak tracks very helpful!) Great features to the property were the pond out front, whirlpool tub & steamer shower in master bathroom and of course the stone fireplace. Would definitely return for another stay. Owner very responsive and timely with all correspondence.

The perfect place to come 'home' to after skiing Stratton
Located just 10 minutes from the base of Stratton, this warm and inviting home full of character awaits! We absolutely loved our 5 night stay at Bennett Farm. The place was so clean upon arrival! Our favorite part was the fireplace which we used every single day since during our stay, VT was experiencing -2 degree temperatures... Tons of firewood was provided which made it so nice to not have to go back and forth to the store. The heat inside the home also worked excellent so we were always warm! The house is in a cute neighborhood, we felt very safe (even though this entire town is super safe to begin with). The home is on 7 acres of land which made for picturesque mornings after nightly snowfalls. The house has every possible cooking utensil, beer / wine openers, a lighter for the fireplace and candles, fresh linens for the beds, laundry pods, dish and hand soaps, shampoo / conditioner in the mini hotel-like bottles. Extras of everything - towels, dish towels, sheets, toilet paper, etc. The mudroom entrance had enough space to store ski boots, ski bags and and skis for the 5 of us. All appliances worked great, including the bluetooth stereo! We packed our own JBL and didn't end up needing it! The steam shower was the ultimate treat! Nothing better after a long day of skiing. This home was close to Underground Coffee which we frequented, as well as EquipSport which offered ski rentals at a discounted rate compared to renting at Stratton's base lodge. Driveway gets plowed when it snows, the garage kept our car snow free, and the care taker responded to our text within 5 minutes. Couldn't ask for a better experience! Warning on the wifi - it is SLOW. We found it to work best paired with our hotspot that we had on our iphone in the master bedroom near the desk. It's rural VT, so you can't expect the 5G super fast city-speed wifi...It worked fine for Zoom meeting calls - but it did freeze/delay 2-3 times within 30 min sessions. Tons of board games and puzzles at the house too - we loved playing Horseopoly by the fire! But it did take us until our last day to find the deck of cards in the coffee table drawer. Overall, LOVED our stay! Will be re-booking for next ski season!! Thank you Lisa for being a great and responsive host!!

Comfortable home. Great week.
This place has clearly been a home for many years. Not sterile like many other places. Comfortable, warm, everything you might need is there. Well-stocked kitchen supplies, firewood, garage for car, etc. Master bath has a jacuzzi and a steam shower. I really enjoyed the steam.
We found it a great location for skiing, hiking, and exploring the area.
Wifi is slow, so don’t plan to hold Zoom meetings or stream movies, etc. I downloaded music to play as streaming was too slow. DirectTV works fine for live sports and traditional TV.

Cozy Springtime Escape
Thank you for our wonderful escape to Vermont. We instantly felt at home at Bennett Farm upon pulling into the winding driveway. The property is well cared for, clean and cozy. We loved all the bird art and bird books, which we consulted a few times to identify ducks landing in the property's pond. We had hoped to take advantage of the inviting sun porch, but the chilly, transitional weather inspired us instead to use the fireplace. We grabbed delicious takeout from Honeypie, once it opened on the weekend, went antiquing in Woodstock, visited Hildene in Manchester and hiked the Prospect Rock trail during our stay. My only wish is that I owned a four-wheel drive vehicle to handle all the dirt roads we came across; our little VW wasn't quite prepared for them!

BEST PLACE IN ALL MY YEARS OF TRAVEL
Let's first start out with the best host EVER. Lisa was kind and attentive to every detail but she already had the place perfect so hit the easy button.
This home, made me feel at home. The charm and care of it was amazing. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and roomy and fun to cook in. It was sparkling clean upon arrival.
The livingroom and fireplace was so comfy and welcoming. There was plenty of wood already stocked up inside which was so thoughtful and more in the garage as needed. (The TV could be bigger lol but we didn't come there to watch TV so no skin in the game for us - well maybe hubby but not me lol)
The sunroom was awesome, we played cards in there and enjoyed the sound of the wind chimes and view of the pond and property.
The bedroom upstairs - wow, the bed was so comfortable it made it hard to get out of it in the morning but the shower steamroom and jacuzzi convinced me otherwise lol. There is plenty of storage area too!
I can't say enough about this property and we will be back for sure with the family! Thank you Lisa for sharing your home and story of it with us. God bless and we'll be back!

We had a wonderful winter stay here. House is very comfortable, charming and has everything you need. Showers were great. Loved the linens, beds, and pillows. Appreciated it was stocked with basic soaps and paper goods.

A relaxing respite from city life
It's hard to decide where to begin when reviewing this property. First, we were here from October through February, so we got a taste of Vermont in the winter. And we're not even skiers! Had we been skiers, we would have been in the perfect spot to take advantage of the local ski resorts. Even without skiing, we could not imagine a more perfect New England hideaway. The house is really comfortable for my wife and me and our dog. It was also comfortable when we entertained family for Thanksgiving. The kitchen is extremely workable and pleasant. All of the rooms are comfortable and beautiful. It is apparent that this house is used and loved by its owners. The fireplace was so nice through the winter months with all the free wood we could use. But let me say that the centralized heating in the house is much more than adequate. The two downstairs bedrooms are cozy, but the upstairs master suite was a favorite of mine. The shower was exquisite, with a steam option that I definitely took advantage of. The king bed upstairs has spoiled me forever, and the beds downstairs were very comfortable as well. The property is gorgeous with six plus acres, and a pond. The farm is next door to a seventy acre chateau that is left undisturbed, rustic, and quiet. At the end of the driveway the Winhall River winds its way by, providing unlimited picture opportunities. The caretaker was competent, responsive, and courteous. She provided for our every need, and put up with our California ignorance of the Vermont winters. The neighboring towns were so much fun to explore. Each town had its own variation of Vermont charm. My favorite town is Jamaica, about ten minutes away. Their general store is delightful, and I recommend their spicy chicken sandwich. We loved our stay so much that we are coming back to try out the farm in the summer. Many thanks to Lisa, Jen, and Andrew for all their help.

Great year-round vacation house
We stayed here in late August. What a beautiful place! The house is roomy and cosy (for a Dutch person an important fact) located on a large gorgeously landscaped property. The house was also very well equipped with good cookware, a rare occurrence in a vacation rental. It is a great place to stay in both winter and summer. We had a wonderful time and would love to come back.

Cozy wonderful house
This house is really wonderful and is more than the sum of its parts. We loved the fireplace and using the kitchen. It's very convenient to Stratton and a cozy spot for hanging out with the family after skiing. The downstairs bathroom gets warmer than other parts of the house and is a good place to put wet ski clothes/boots to dry.

Splendid and serene
Where to begin about Bennett Farm...From the moment I pulled up the driveway and saw the view of the pond with the house in the background, I was in love. The house is unique and beautiful with so many interesting things to look at and it’s also so comfortable. My dog Barney had the best time running around the yard and field and swimming in the pond. We brought an inflatable rowboat so we could just float on the pond and relax and it was so lovely. Lisa was a delight to communicate with, it was such a smooth process. We went to visit Hildene, the Lincoln Family Home, which was so beautiful in the mountains. This was such a peaceful vacation, we would all love to come back again. Thank you to Lisa for sharing your home!!

Textbook Vermont
We had a perfect stay over the Labor Day weekend . The house was exactly what you think of when doing a Vermont getaway. The property was amazing with a big pond and the sound of the river nearby and though it’s only minutes from the main road, it’s very secluded and peaceful. The house itself was just what we like, country charming with all the modern conveniences. We normally go on long hikes and don’t spend much time at the house we rent but it was so nice, we simply strolled the country roads in the area and enjoyed sitting on the deck and using the screened in porch. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience

Bennett Farm April 2018
My wife and a some friends just spent a few days at Bennett Farm in Vermont for a two days of spring skiing at Stratton Mountain.
Beautiful house on a pond, near a river featuring great privacy and serenity while being just minutes from the access road to Stratton Mountain.
Our host couldn't have been more kind and accommodating.
The house is in perfect order and easily slept the six of us.
We are anxious to return soon.

Perfect Getaway
Another great year! The house was just as cozy as we remembered it from last year with the added benefit of faster wi-fi (when the boys finally wound down from skiing). Great communication from the owners and consistent with HomeAway’s “Rare Find”! Thank you again! We’ll be back next year!

Perfect getaway!
We enjoyed staying in this house with our 4 and 6 year olds. It was a perfect location to get them to their ski lessons at Stratton for a couple days while returning to a comfy home environment when we were all exhausted. While the property as a whole is one of the most peaceful places I’ve enjoyed, the house embraces the country VT feel we were looking for while providing all of the amenities needed to make you feel right at home. We will definately be returning and highly recommend!
