Great home for the family; right on Anini beach.
Bumpy road right at the end - moguls in Hawaii!

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and well maintained. Nice large yard, and great view of Anini. Just steps away from the beach. Beds were comfortable. lots of chairs and a few toys for the kids. We left some boogie boards, we purchased there for the future guests to use. Just an all around wonderful place. This was our third trip renting on Anini Beach and this house was great for 6 people. Suzi and Bob were quick with communications. I highly reccommend this house.

We love this property and the location! As Hawaii changes, this place retains its authentic Hawaiian character. Everything was perfect and the hosts are amazing!
4.9
Clean, well maintained home, exactly as advertised. The house had everything we needed, and the property owner, Suzi, was great to work with. We have stayed on Anini before, so we knew what to expect - crowds during the day, and campers nearby. Mornings and evenings are very quiet, so you have a great beach, snorkeling, paddleboarding, etc, mostly to yourself!

A great property, excellent location and fantastic owner! Perfect for cooking, whale watching, snorkeling with the turtles. Suzi’s attention to quality and her focus on customer service and excellent communications ensures a perfect stay!!
Mahalo Suzi until we see you again!

We loved our stay here! I hope to come back to this house again. The sunset from the balcony is priceless! Beautiful and mellow which is exactly what we were looking for!
It was so nice having a washer and dryer. And the house was stocked with everything we needed!
Thank you Bob and Suzi!

This was the perfect house for us. We enjoyed time on the beach out front, quiet time on the balcony, the location worked great for fun trips in either direction, and no one in our group wanted to leave.

My party of 4 stayed at this property for almost a week for my fathers retirement vacation. It was better than expected. The house was perfect for what we wanted. Relaxing and quite with the best views. If we ever come to Kauai again we would get this house.

Family and friends loved it! Host was great with communication and helpful. Will have to come back.

We loved this property. The beach is out of the way and quiet and perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The house had plenty of room for our family in this perfect location.

The home is very nice and on a calm, sandy, warm, shallow beach. Close to all north shore attractions including the majestic Na Pali coast. Beach goers will park between the house and the beach though and you will need a good vehicle that won’t scrape on the potholes over the last 1/4 mile or so of road. There is no A/C but plenty of fans and cross breeze. In our opinion, much better than a congested resort.

Love Anini Beach! We spent 10 nights at the Nakea house. The perfect place for a family with small children. The house was located right at the beach and has good sized rooms. We enjoyed our stay in Suzi’s house and recommend it highly. She provides everything you need to be comfortable including all soaps, towels, linens, kitchen utensils and even an ice maker. So wonderful to wake up to the beautiful beach each day and swim with the turtles! So easy to grab one of the beach chairs and walk steps to sit under a shady tree on the calm beach with no waves. The unpaved portion of the road is short but you will bottom out on the dips so a higher vehicle is advisable. This is a
Very secluded area Away from the usual tourist hassles. This is truly paradise!

We knew the location of this incredible residence prior to booking, and it was 100% why we chose Hale Kai. It was better than imagined when we arrived, loving the beautiful end to end Anini Beach view from the Lanai and dining room. Our 11 year old loved the location as well, and enjoyed some fun ball games on the lawn during the day and Bull Frog catching at night. We even had our own Frog Jumping competition! The water is absolutely perfect here for wading and especially snorkeling. During all weather, the protected reef is a huge playground for swimming and snorkeling. As with anywhere, be smart about going out. When in doubt, just don't go out. That being said, it was perfect everyday for us and we even hit Tunnels Beach one of the days we were there. It was a perfect week. Happy Father's Day to me!

I stayed here with my wife and three young daughters. It was a pleasure to have a house right next to a family friendly beach. My girls loved being able to simply cross the road and be at the beach. Suzie was incredibly kind, and we are grateful we were able to stay at her amazing house! Mahalo

There are beautiful beaches in Kauai and Anini is very special. To be here and look out at the water could not be better. The only problem was when people came down here, parked in front of the house and then made noise into the night. Not a constant problem. Overall, I'd highly recommend the stay.

This house was everything we had hoped for and more. Amazing morning views of the ocean and beautiful star filled sky's at night. We even had whales breaching out past the reef our first morning here. The house was clean and comfortable with everything thing you would need for a great stay . We had been to Kauai before ,but this trip we had the fun of showing our friends around to our favorite spots. It was great starting each days adventures from our most favorite spot Anini Beach

Very clean and comfortable. Amazing views from the deck - we saw shooting stars, rainbows and whales! Suzie was a fantastic host. Highly recommend. My family will have many fond memories from this stay.

This house provided the perfect escape my family needed. It is a beautiful and tranquil place to let your stress melt away. The beach is stunning, and the waters were calm and relaxing. If you are looking for a nice place to relax and recharge, I highly recommend this house. thank you

Perfect home and location for a family with young children. Loved everything about our stay.
4.9
This house was just what we were looking for. Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. Great for relaxing and you can't beat the location! Calm, quiet beach right out front. Great for snorkeling. The house was clean and comfortable. All 3 bedrooms were spacious. We loved sitting on the front deck to eat breakfast in the mornings. We would definitely stay here again!
4.9
It was very spacious for the three of us and we had a great time staying here.
4.9
We thoroughly enjoyed watching the waves and sitting on the beach. We even saw whales breaching outside the surf line and turtles inside the surf line on consecutive days. This was exciting and relaxing at the same time.

I rage booked this house during a covid quarantine. Then got nervous. Rainiest month on the rainiest side of the rainiest island. Ooh. But we got lucky and it was lovely. The house was exactly what we needed and exactly as expected. It was a bit hard to find the first night in the dark only exacerbated by my dyslexic brain giving my husband the wrong numbers. I was not sad that I packed some flashlights as there is not much light at night. The beach is perfect calm and shallow water for younger kids. (please note further out is a riptide that should be taken very seriously). The kitchen was well set up and we were able to cook most meals there and towns were closer than we thought based on descriptions. We pray this is still a rental next time we can save up enough for our next Kauai vacation.

Super relaxing. Steps to the beach lots of windows to catch the breeze and the sunsets. Large spaces and a nicely equipped kitchen. Very quiet after sunset.
4.9
House and location were as advertised. Suzi is a caring and thorough host. To be able to walk barefoot directly to an idyllic Anini Beach was fantastic. As was sitting out on the deck with a view of that peaceful sea. We all had a fantastic week!
4.9
Very easy communication with the owner. For more snorkeling opportunities, Anini Beach State Park is just a few minutes away. Mahalo!

This was a great house....perfect for our trip. My husband, daughter, her husband and our 15 year old granddaughter spent an awesome week here. The house meet all our needs - comfortable and had everything we needed including beach chairs and towels. The kitchen was well equipped with kitchen stables and more. And even soap, shampoo, and conditioner in the bathrooms. Great views and loved the access to the beach. We spent time swimming and snorkeling at the house. When we weren't out viewing the sights, we enjoyed the quiet, remote location. Areas to walk around and explore. Super quiet at night. Love all the chickens. Yes, the dirt road is very bumpy but drive slow and it will be okay. Suzi was great to work with. Would stay again!

This is a fabulous stay on our favorite beach in Kauai. If you are looking for a quiet getaway, this is the perfect spot. The beach is great for snorkeling and strolling, and it's a blast to watch the locals wind surf out past the coral. The listing itself is so convienent for beach goers - lots of space, a large kitchen, and a view to die for. This was our second time staying here, and we look forward to future visits! Thank you Suzi!

Nice home with fabulous views on one of the best beaches on Kauai. Literally steps from the beach. Owners are communicative and very accommodating. Outdoor shower was out of order and would have been nice. Also a ceiling fan in the main room would have helped airflow. Overall a very nice place and we would highly recommend.

Paradise
Amazing place to stay, owners are great to work with and available to answer any questions. It was our first time traveling to Hawaii and Suzi was great, she gave us tips on where to go, what to do and watch out for. Our family was home away from home. Will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend for families, and the community was awesome.

I love this place! The views are spectacular from the lanai. The house is spacious enough for 6 adults to be comfortable. Even without air-conditioning, with windows open and properly placed fans, it was pleasant all day. I would absolutely stay here again, with a couple prior assurances.
1st) the road must be actually drivable! I understand rough, but we had to get 2 of our 6 mature adults to get out and walk through the mud the last 100 yards because our minivan drug bottom/ high ccentered. The last day we were there, someone finally scrapped a portion of the road.
2nd) The homeless population was completely depressing. We felt guilty for being so happy to be in paradise, while people were living in tents and old automobiles as close as across the driveway.
3rd) The shower in the 3rd bathroom was out of order the entire week. It would have been helpful to have had a heads up.
4th) The number of locals that informed us of how terrible tourists are for consuming the islands resources. "The Aloha spirit is dying" quote
I've been to Hawaii 8 times, It WAS the only place that I wanted to vacation! Next year St. THOMAS! From there we'll see how kauai is recovering!

Beautiful location
We love staying on Anini beach and this house was perfect for our family. We love the quiet location and easy access to the beach. The kitchen had everything we needed and there was plenty of space for us to spread out. The kids loved chasing chickens in the yard and getting extra beach time after dinner. We’d love to stay here again someday.

Perfect Beach home for young family
This property was perfect for our young family because of how easy life is here. You are steps from the water, so morning coffee, once brewed, can be sipped, still steaming while your toes are in the sand watching the ocean change as the day's light increases. On the beach, there are no waves, only shallow sand and reef for many hundreds of feet. This is a perfect beach for playing in the water, snorkeling, paddle boarding, swimming, walking, fishing, you name it.
From the house and the beach in front, we were able to spot whales migrating, sea turtles, and countless other sea creatures.
There is a short walk (30 minutes) up to Princeville via a beach trail, as well as what my kids called the "wave beach" just 5 minutes away by car.
There are plenty of pots and pans, a toaster, blender, coffee maker, and slow cooker. A few pantry items, not a ton, left over from prior visitors. Nothing felt old or unkempt. Although not listed in the listing, there were 6 beach towels and many board games, as well as 6 beach chairs.
On our first day, the property owner called to introduce herself and let us know she's there to provide help if anything were to come up - she lives in Princeville, just up the road. We appreciated Suzi's attention to our comfort.
The directions to the house are easy to follow. All in, you're about 20 minutes outside of Hanalei, and 12 minutes outside of Princeville.
The house is just a few doors from the end of the road in quite a secluded part of the island, which we loved. It made for a very dark, very quiet place to stay. The stars are amazing. Because it is so quiet, the odd car at night is noticeable, but you get maybe 3 cars at most in the evenings. While we didn't have any problems or notice any problems, we did notice a community patrol car come through the neighborhood one night.
During the week days, the beach was very quiet, with some local fishers or surfers, and a handful of families using the beach. It felt like our beach that we shared with others :) During the weekends, it was much more busy (not mainland busy, just Kauai busy) and we felt so lucky to have easy parking at the house and even better, easy access to restrooms, the fridge, etc. We never blinked letting our kids (5, 7, 9) go back and forth between beach and house on their own.
We vow to return, as this house quickly felt like our little home away from home.
