About this house rental
Camp Kobe at Lake Tulloch is a big 4 bedroom A-Frame cabin, featuring a private boat dock and a sandy private beach lot. Expansive, full on views of Lake Tulloch sparkle from almost everywhere in the house. Follow the trail downhill to your own sandy cove, while your boat waits for you on a private dock.
Privacy and good vibes abound. 2 large furnished decks overlook the lake, and there are no neighbors on either side. This house is all about being together with friends and family with a pristine lake as your playground.
Now that the crowds are gone, you can enjoy much lower fall rates, perfect weather, and an uncrowded lake. This time of year is perfect for paddle boarders, canoes, kayaks and of course, last of season wakeboarding or water skiing.
Consider renting for a few days at our lower rates before you decide on a full vacation next summer.
Expect magnificent sunrises and sunsets over the rocky ridges that surroung the lake. Make sure to bring your binoculars to watch the wildlife, see the tabletop mountain in the distance, or to check out the activity on the lake.
The house is extremely private with no houses on either side, and is nestled among mature oaks and pines on an acre of land. With an east facing exposure, you can watch the sun come up from the deck, but have shade for cocktail hour or dinner on the deck.
There is level off street parking for 4 cars plus your boat and trailer. There are no stairs to enter the main level of the house from the parking area.
Camp Kobe is comprised of 3 side by side lots, and you have exclusive use of all 3.. The house is on one lot, and sits higher to capture the views. The adjacent lots have the waterfront area which is accessed via a trail down from the house to the beach and dock.
The trail slopes down from the house and is uphill from the beach. This is a moderately steep climb and may not be suitable for the elderly. Alternate access to the beach area is from the launch area which is next door to the beach area.
The beach area has a big U-shaped newer dock for your boats. There is also a sandy area with chairs and a picnic table so you can spend the day at the water. Wakeboard, water ski, jet ski, tube, kayak, or simply float or swim in the lake. The waterfront area is on slow water (meaning boats can only cruise slowly in this part of the lake) making it ideal for swimming. You can launch around the corner at the homeowner's launch facility and will be approximately 5 minutes to the fast water.
There are 3 levels on the house, each level has a full bathroom. There are 2 master bedrooms, each with a king bed and a lake view. The other 2 bedrooms have a total of 3 queen beds. There are also 2 living areas so the kids can have their own space to play games and watch TV.
The dining area has a big round table that will seat 8 and overlooks the lake. There is also a counter area with 2 barstools and tables on the deck for dining. You will find a well-equipped kitchen and a china cabinet with everything you need to serve your group. There is also a newer gas grill on the deck.
We will consider one or two well behaved dogs with a pet fee that is passed through to our housekeeping team.
The best thing about the house is the ability of the group to hang out and enjoy the vacation in so many different areas. Play on the beach and dock area, watch the action on the upper deck with an expansive lake view, hide out and play cards on the lower deck (completely shaded with furniture and a direct view of the beach) watch a movie in the game room, cook, talk, and drink wine in the main living area, or hide out in the loft to read, watch TV or work on the computer (there is Internet access).
This house has been in our family for over 26 years and was an instant success as a vacation rental 12 years ago. Camp Kobe was named after a beloved dog, who came to be a part of our family and our lakehouse experience in the early years of ownership.
Lake Tulloch continues to be discovered as the perfect lake getaway, only a 2 hour drive from most points in the Bay Area. If you want to graduate from camping, or simply have an old fashioned vacation in a beautiful lakeside cabin, Camp Kobe may be a perfect fit.

This was our second visit to the property. Great location on the lake. Host was very accomodating. Planning ro return next year.

The staircase is terrifying if you have little ones. There are Very wide open gaps that the kids could easily fall through. The hill to climb down to the water is pretty difficult with little ones too. Kitchen is stocked well with pots and pans and towels. It’s small living quarters, but having the upper and lower hang out areas work out well with having teens. Being so close to the launch is a nice perk about this location. And the owner has been very easy to contact and communicate with. Overall it was another successful tulloch trip and we’re grateful for the place to stay.

Overall was a great weekend stay on the waterfront. House is a little out dated but beds were comfy and we were all happy with our stay. The walk down to the beach is a bummer as per every review but not terrible. we all did it multiple times a day. Dock fit all 3 boats perfectly and the beach area is super cool. I would reccomend this place to any one that can manage the hill without issue. Also the listing stated that it had a hot tub but there is no hot tub on site. We will be coming back to this house in the future.

The house was nice but there was a few issues, the walk down to the water, not safe for everyone, they should have stairs like all the other houses, but they don’t, they have a rope tied to a tree to hang on to as u walk down. There is NO central air conditioning. They have a wall air conditioner in each room, the bottom floor stays cold , but the middle floor and top floor stay hot all the time . The frig doesn’t work very well and doesn’t keep your food very cold, we had to keep buying ice to keep our food cold. and the freezer makes about 5 ice cubes a day. I tried to call the owners about the frig and left 3 messages but no return call, To get your boat on the water we had to call this person to come down to let us into the launch ramp at kevia , which was ok , but the day we wanted to pull our boat out , the person was out of town and not available to come help us get back into kevia boat launch, to pull our boat out, and there was no back up person to let us out , so we would of had to pull the boat out a day early or have someone make the 45 min drive to the marina with the trailer to pull out the boat. Not very convenient. , they do allow dogs which is nice, and they have a fenced in yard for them , but dog poop is not picked up so there is a lot of it , and it smells like a litter box as u walk by. Other than that the place was nice and we had a good time.

This is a great house of you have have a large family. The private beach and dock are a much added the bonus. The hill going down to the dock and up to the house can be a little rough, but other than that. Everyone had a great experience. Thank you

Overall this is a great lake house. A completely private dock and beach area was great for the kids. The dock is newer and in great shape. Its location on the lake also protects your boat from any possible banging you could get from wakes. We had a great stay and would visit again.

Overall we enjoyed the lake front home, even with the few negative point mentioned below. The best part was the upper deck with plenty of tables and seating. The deck had evening shade. They had an umbrella for morning and noon sun....but we put our own shader on deck too get more shade for morning and mid day sun. The upstairs room with a king bed is not a room but a fairly large loft so there is no privacy but, it does have its own bathroom. I found the home to have too much furniture (tables, bookshelves) and too much stuff (decor) on them which made it feel cluttered for rental purposes. Not much space to put your own stuff. The kitchen was well supplied but no empty cabinets to put our food so our food for 10 took up the little bit of counter space that we had for prepping meals. They have a large fenced area for dogs but we didn’t have any pets...so no need. The trail down to lake is steep and for those in our group that were older (56-67), it was not easily done because there is nothing to hold onto. It really is dangerous because if you lost your balance you could easily roll all the way down the hill. We walked very very slowly and we took our walking sticks which helped! Each of us normally walk 2-3 miles a day back home (flat surface) so our opinion is it is doable but could be dangerous for anybody. This trail was the only access to beach as the gate from the launching pad next to house was locked. Even the young kids (in their 20s) got tired with the climb back up the hill. If there was some kind of rope or rail to hold onto for stability....that would be ideal. As for the beach, they provided plenty of chairs and 2 umbrellas for shade. Again, we took an extra shader down to beach for the picnic table area. The beach had weeds around but had a decent area to get into water slowly. Very few homes have a clean beach access. Because your at a dead end, garbage and weeds did seem to gather around our beach area due to the current. The only problem was if you are swimming or wanted to jump off dock you had to watch out for boats that were launching or being loaded on to trailer. Be aware, the HOA allows only 1 launch per day for $45. So if you have more than 1 jet ski trailer you have to wait to launch the following day or launch during off hours 9pm - 6am....when it’s dark out. Overall we still enjoyed our stay...Thank you!

Great time at Kamp Kobe
Kamp Kobe was just what we were looking for.Our family of 10 ages 3-76 had a wonderful time. The house was relaxed enough to feel comfortable and had everything we needed. The trail to the lake was a little bit of a challenge, but everyone was happy to boast they could do it. Having the boat right there was handy and during the week the lake is not very crowded. We hope to visit there again next summer.

Very accommodating/ beautiful view
Beautiful view, comfortable home. Stayed for 4 nights and great location not far from south shore. Kids had an awesome time swimming, blue gill fishin & boating/jet skiing. The walk to the lake from the house can be steep/tiring but just plan your trips accordingly. Overall, we had a blast and would love to return next summer. Thank you!

Great Stay
Nice property with the dock and beach so available but a bit of a struggle from the water up to the house. Great for families that like water sports. Be forewarned that the owner requests that you take your trash home or to the local dump station.

Great stay
We had 9 people we had plenty of space to chill out after being on the lake all day. The decks have amazing views and we enjoyed eating outside and watching the wild life walk by. There was plenty of supplies for our stay to cook and eat with. We hope to get to stay there again.

Beautiful location and lovely home
We had a wonderful 3-day stay with our friends and family (6 adults and 4 children). The house is very large and comfortable and has everything you need to cook meals and relax. The AC also works well and was much needed! The three levels allow nice separation between families/kids. The climb down is quite steep, but we didn't have any issues with our ages. Any kids younger than 3/4 or older adults probably would have some trouble. The only other thing I would call out is that we didn't realize we needed to haul away our own garbage at the end of our stay. We didn't have our pick up truck parked at the house, so we needed to make a separate trip to drive that over to pick up all the trash. It would have been nice to have the garbage taken care of for us. But, overall a great location on a beautiful lake and really convenient to have the dock and beach area. thank you!

Great spot!
We enjoyed our stay. Beautiful view. Great deck. Fenced in, which is great for dogs, and large enough to play cornhole. Is on a bit of a hill but as long as that’s not an issue for you it’s fine. Great spot to go with a group of friends or family. Plenty of space!

We really enjoyed our stay at Janet’s house! The views are amazing- great outdoor seating areas. The boat launch is right there and the dock worked great to store our boat during our stay. Plenty of room for all 6 adults and 4 kiddos. We can’t wait to stay here again. Thank you for the great home and memories we made!

We really enjoyed ourselves at Camp Kobe. The house was clean, the view was beautiful!! Having our own private dock and beach was amazing. The picnic tables and umbrellas helped keep us in the shade for the hot 98 - 103 temp days!
Yes, the walk is a little steep to the beach and back, it was quite doable though. There is also the private launch area right across from our beach that allowed us to drop off our coolers and those that didn’t want to walk up the hill… pretty darn easy to work around.
I recommend Camp Kobe to anyone who enjoys “lake life” and especially families.
Hope to visit again soon!!

Lake life
Comfortable house, beautiful decks with amazing views. Comfortable beds, plenty of room to spread out. Exactly as described, steep trek to private beach area. Sand castles and floating for 3 year old. Pretty hard to bring a infant down that hill to beach. Plenty of outdoor furniture. Fully stocked kitchen, thank goodness for the air conditioning. Janet was a pleasure to work with.

Boaters Delight
A 5 Star delight for boaters, wake-boarders and wake-surfers with a private beach and a private dock within a short walk down the hill. This makes the house very desirable. For our young family of 10 it was the perfect vacation since we are all boaters and have been since birth. However, as the owner stated in her write-up the slope from the home to the beach can be challenging for the more mature adult, and it was. However the Grandchildren did not have a problem. I might suggest steps or an old style slow ski rope tow from the ski slopes. Plenty of room for 6 adults and 4 teens. AC and all other systems worked well. We were able to park two large extra cab trucks, a boat trailer, and SUV on the property. It is an older type of cabin with lots of nostalgia, but plenty of room to live in. The deck and its view were the highlight of every morning and evening while barbecuing or just refreshing. Boat launch and check in was flawless and we thank the owner for that. Customer service when we needed something was excellent. Highly recommend and will seriously consider for next year again. Our Grandchildren will probably remind us. Regards.

We have rented this property every July for the past 6years now. Everything you need is there. The view is spectacular, the host is the kindest and accommodating. Plenty of space to sleep. A well kept home for sure. Will continue to stay here every year for many years to come if available.

Camp Kobe 2020
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, accommodations were excellent. Beautiful view of lake and surrounding area from top deck. Only drawbacks were the steepness from the house to the dock ( not recommended for small children and physically challenged) and the lengthly 5 mile per hour zone to main part of the lake (approx. 10-15 min.).

Family Vacation
We all loved the location, house layout, beach, and dock for the boats. This vacation home is setup for cooking, relaxing, and enjoying the lake views. The 3 levels really gives a spot for everyone to nap, read, or gather together. The bulk of our time when not on the lake in the boats was spent on the upper deck enjoying wonderful conversations and taking in the beauty of Lake Tulloch. These home owners have thought of everything you need to enjoy a vacation at the lake. Comfy beds and bedding, ample cooking and serving dishes, games, but most important to us was the outdoor space and that's an A+. After months of being apart from our family due to COVID-19 it was the perfect spot for our family to spend 4 days together.
Thank you Janet we appreciate the care you provided in having a clean and well prepared home for us that created great memories.
Kindly,
Rochelle

Lake Tulloch Memories
We spent several happy years visiting Lake Tulloch when our children were young, this visit we returned with our grandchildren, there were 10 of us. The house is easy to locate off the highway. There is no street parking. The area provided in front of the house held 2 trucks and a mid size SUV. The house like most vacation rentals has a collection of mismatched furniture and several accent pieces making it a bit crowded and dated. We packed a few plastic reusable bins with our supplies which gave us needed storage as there isn’t much which made some areas tight. The kitchen is intimate but functional. Our non fridge food was on the limited counter space which cut off needed meal prep area. Of course as our stay moved on we gained more space each day. It all worked out well though. The stove is electric, the fridge has an ice maker. There is a propane grill on the top main floor deck. The decor reflects lake life :-) The decks and rooms provide great views of the lake all around. We enjoyed all our meals on the top deck. The sandy shore is a great place for kids to play and adults can sit in the shade of the umbrellas. Note: the dark brown chairs have slide out drink holders. We rented a jet ski and pontoon boat locally, both fit well at the dock. We would suggest nothing over 21 ft to fit the slip. We enjoyed the two paddle boats provided with the home. There is a boat launch ramp which is directly across from the house dock area, it was busy during our stay but not so much to bother us, just need to be aware. We found the novice boat launchers entertaining from the shore and upper deck at dinner time. The hill mentioned to and from the shore area is steep. Our party is in good shape but at the end of the day it was a climb. Extra care going down at a slower pace for safety is required. Pack out all your days supplies, running back to the house is a hike. The air conditioning worked great for the warm days of summer. There is a rental property next door as well. It’s a vacation destination so be ready for loud music and people enjoying themselves. We only had one night music was played loudly after midnight with outside deck activity. We didn’t call anyone since we figured the full time residents would and someone did, it shut down pretty quickly. The evenings were quiet and star gazing amazing. Wild turkey and deer come around in the am. We had fun making new memories.
