About this house rental
Guests who stay at Casa de la Vida are guaranteed a Sayulita vacation as unique and memorable as the house itself. You are invited to relax in an unparalleled tranquil environment offering the most breath-taking views of the Sayulita Bay, surrounding mountains and jungle. We are the last house before the jungle, so unlike many areas in town, it is quiet here ( no discos/dogs barking//all nite party animals like in the plaza centro area)....and very private. A pool, air conditioning, extreme privacy, and proximity to the north end beach are just a few of the many assets guests of Casa de la Vida enjoy during a most memorable vacation in paradise.
The house is perfect for those wishing to visit the village of Sayulita, just north of Puerto Vallarta, yet also desire the exclusiveness offered by the town's 'North End' neighborhood. A huge veranda (with a hanging bed) provides great shade during the day. The pool is located just steps from the veranda with comfortable lounge chairs for perfect siestas.
The house also offers beach chairs, an umbrella, outside shower, and a complete kitchen. Our housekeeper will have arranged fresh Sayulita flowers upon your arrival and will clean the house during your stay.. She can also do personal laundry upon request as well as prepare meals for you at an extra fee. Casa de la Vida has a gas BBQ (Weber) for your use .
Access to the beach is a 2-5 minute walk down a cobblestone lane and a beautifully landscaped trail. Guests can either walk the road (mostly flat!) or the beach to the village center, located about 15 minutes away by foot. The Sayulita beach in front of the house is perfect for surf casting and guests with an adventurous spirit will be amazed by the trails through the virgin jungle situated just minutes from the house. You can walk through the jungle to the isolated beach that lies between Sayulita and San Pancho.
The terrace is where you will find yourself each day, whether it is coffee, yoga, siestas, dancing, stargazing, reading or visiting. It is outdoor living at its best! Then on the terrace each evening as the sun sets into the ocean you will be drawn to celebrate the end of yet another memorable Sayulita day.
1 king size bed in the south master suite with A/C and private garden bath with Sayulita bay view ( has 4in Novaform Gel foam topper that conforms to your body to create a restful sleep)
1 king and one twin in north master suite with A/C and enormous private garden bath also has the gel foam topper for your best sleep ever!
2 queen Novafoam beds (can be King or separated into 2 smaller) in a smaller but very comfortable 3rd bedroom with bathroom right next door.
Be aware there is always construction ongoing in Sayulita and currently there is a house being built nearby.
Keywords: Close to beach, ocean views, swimming pool, private, no hills, close to town and all amenities, spacious, kiddies pool

Location has an amazing view of sayulita bay. We went in July, it’s hot, zero breeze so the walk to downtown was painful for some in the group. Renting a golf cart is a must.

Introduction: Our recent stay at VBRO listing #374759 left much to be desired and stands as our most disappointing experience with vacation rentals. Despite having traveled extensively and rented VBROs in various locations, this particular property fell far short of expectations.
Location: Contrary to the listing's claim of a 2-minute walk to the beach, the reality is starkly different. Accessing the beach involves navigating a steep and rough cobblestone drive, making it far from the convenient stroll promised. The challenging terrain not only proved inconvenient but bordered on being unsafe, especially for those not accustomed to such conditions.
Accommodations: While the promise of stunning ocean views was fulfilled, the overall state of the accommodations left much to be desired. The advertised seamless blend of comfort and style was marred by a lack of attention to detail. Certain areas of the property appeared neglected, and the overall ambiance did not reflect the level of care one would expect.
Cleanliness: The supposed hallmark of impeccable cleanliness was not evident during our stay. The property lacked the spotless environment we have come to expect from our previous VBRO experiences. The disconnect between the promised and actual cleanliness was disappointing and impacted our overall comfort.
Amenities: While the listing touts a range of amenities, the reality on the ground was underwhelming. The pool area, in particular, did not live up to the images presented.

the place is rustic- the view from the back deck and pool is awesome and you can hear the waves at the house- i love that. the master main bedroom is great with a fabulous view and fun rock shower! the second bedroom smells strongly of mold- i had to leave the windows open the whole stay for the smell to be less strong- the windows were screened so no extra bugs! the fridge was not working but Anita and Miguel were super helpful and good hosts. i loved my stay in Mexico - the north side was a fun adventure- we had two feral cats come visit and an iguana who would take an afternoon stroll
across the deck! then there were the Coates- they came at night to see if they could get food so lock up tight at night- they are smart ones- if a little wildlife and a beautiful view with sounds of the ocean waves is a priority and you can live with a crab in the kitchen and the jungle in your back yard- you will enjoy this spot!

My family and I were fortunate enough to to stay at this stunning property. Our host arranged a fantastic authentic Mexican meal to be prepared for us upon arrival; and even though our flight was delayed, it was ready as soon as we checked in. We adored the authenticity of the Mexican decor; and the outdoor patio was like a dream. The pool was immaculate and so appreciated every evening! I would definitely stay here again! Thank you for everything!

Beautiful view. Easy location to walk downtown although renting a golf cart is a good idea. Easy access to beach. Housekeeper Azucena made us a delicious first night meal. Easy and quick responses from manager and owner when needed. House is comfortable, clean and has all you will need. Air conditioning in rooms works great and only needed for a couple of hours before bed. Hope to return sometime soon. Thank you Anita, Azucena and Miguel.

We had a wonderful time at this property! It's very private but easy to get to, other than the steep driveway - but we mastered that as well. I would reccommend a car or golf cart, the 20 somethings were fine walking to and from town but us older people wouldn't have wanted to do that. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is stocked with all of the basics. The staff were very sweet and Anita was great with getting us all of the details. Thanks so much!

Great location - super close to the beach. Lots of great restaurants nearby. Nice view. Great place to relax after a days adventures. Lots of room for a large group.

House was awesome! We enjoyed the indoor/outdoor living and the amazing view. Rented a golf cart a couple days and that made getting to town and beach easier. Great location for less crowds but access to great surf beach. I would only say the kitchen could use a good deep clean and an appliance update but we felt fine cooking each day. Overall would love to rent again!

It is up a significant hill, so my elderly Dad couldn't walk into town, but taxis are readily available and an uber is only 4$.

The house is older and needs constant cleaning and maintenance due to the elements. Area is quiet but construction is loud and bummer at times. It’s not a house to write a novel in. Overall nice place though.

Great outdoor space
The view was great and the outdoor space was perfect for dining and relaxing. The AC in the bedrooms worked wonderfully. The property was clean. However alittle maintenance in the bathrooms ie. The rotting beams from rain water and a new showerhead in the one bathroom..though the bathrooms are unique with big rock formations. Anita was friendly and timely. I would definitely recommend this property.

Great time!
We chose this property because it had the highest ratings for a family house and close to the beach! Casa de la Vida was everything promised and more! We had 3 generations stay for a week: grandparents to grandkids, teenagers to a baby. The location was in a quiet neighborhood with an easy beach walk. The kids loved the pool and we enjoyed nightly sunsets over the water. Azucena made us a delicious dinner for our arrival, and was flexible when our arrival time changed 3 times! We definitely recommend Anita’s home!

Great Family Getaway!
Great view and unique design. Very safe. We loved the traditional decor and ocean view the most! Azucena, the house keeper, was very kind and helpful too!

Pictures don’t do it justice
This was the perfect place for us. The outdoor space is amazing. We spent all our time except sleep on the veranda or in the pool. The birds around the house were a nice surprise. Very entertaining.
The beach is a lovely close walk. Town was a slightly hilly walk but close and easy. The manager was very responsive but rarely needed.

Great Spot
This spot is as advertised. Beautiful view and a great spot to be away from all the hustle and bustle that takes place in the heart of Sayulita. It is a bit of a walk to town but very much worth it.

The house was clean and tidy when we arrived. If you’re looking for real Mexico appeal, you’ve come to the right spot. I felt very safe and comfortable there. It’s got some very cute artwork and fun bathrooms. Azusena was great, she and her daughter cooked for us and it was a great meal. The pool was a must, we got rain every night, which brought humidity during the day. I loved that there were no stairs once you got to the house. But, there is a very steep hill to get to it. Going town was a lot of fun. I really think you need a golf cart if anyone in your party has kids or problems walking. Thank you Anita, we had a great wedding and a great vacation!

Super kid-friendly, gorgeous villa
We visited Casa de la vida for 8 days with our 3 and 5 year old children. We all loved it! The pool was wonderful and we spent entire days in it. It felt safe with the kids since you have to go down a big step off the deck to get in. We felt very comfortable letting the kids play on the deck. The view from the pool is just incredible. The house is up a steep hill and a little bit of a hike into town but the quiet is definitely worth it. We did the walk with our kids several times, and it was fine. We found that taxis were very easy to access. They came quickly, were clean and inexpensive (70 pesos to most places). Azucena cooked us a wonderful meal and was very pleasant. The bedrooms were comfortable and we all slept well while we were there. Our kids loved the art work all over the house and the amazing rock showers. They felt like there were showering in a volcano! Sayulita is adorable, friendly and full of delicious food. We really couldn’t have enjoyed our time any more! Thanks so much Anita!

Fantastic Experience!
Incredible atmosphere and indoor/outdoor living space. Short walk to town. Shorter walk to the beach. Azucuena's cooking was fantastic and there were always leftovers for breakfast the next day. We would absolutely return for another stay!

Fabulous!
We were on the property for the lunar eclipse and it couldn’t have been more magical. Azucena prepared an arrival dinner for us that was spectacular. The beds were comfy, the amenities just as described. Our 4 generations of women had a lovely time. We will be back!

Lovely Location in Sayulita
We really enjoyed this house. The veranda and pool are lovely especially at sunset. The beach is a short walk down the hill and town is a 15 minute walk along the beach. Far enough away from the hubbub of the city center to be mostly quiet. Now that the back room has been expanded to fit two single beds, it was perfect for our two girls. We even had one person sleep on the hanging bed to fit our total of eight. This time of year he did not have issues with bugs but did need ear plugs to help him sleep. Kitchen was a mishmash of items but we could easily cook most of our meals at home. The walk through the jungle to the next beach was lovely and we even were able to watch some baby turtles making their way to the sea. We would definitely stay here again.

The best sunset in Sayulita
We loved our stay here and did not want to leave. The house is equipped with everything you need to be comfortable. Our favorite part was dinner on the expansive deck every night and watching the incredible sunsets. We will definitely be back to Sayulita and hope to stay here again!

Great location beautiful views and a friendly staff marred by an old house full of bugs
We truly loved Sayulita but the house stay was marred by bugs and bats that impacted our use of the house. We left lights on all night which drew bugs throughout the central area but ensured the bats were not in the living areas at night. One of the bedrooms was infested with ants and/or termites. We didn't have a huge problem the first few nights but the last two had one BR full of crawling and flying bugs. There was a nest like bunching in the ceiling which fell on the bed . Nothing biting but still disgusting to have bugs and wings all over the sheets. The cleaning staff sprayed but the next night the same thing. I even covered the new sheets that had dead bugs from the ceiling with another set of sheets but before we could lay down more had fallen. We sprayed until the Raid can was empty. We slept on the extra smaller bed and in the night could hear something squeaking and crawling in the ceiling rafters. No sleep for two nights. The house staff was friendly and the owner told me she had the staff spray but it was ineffective. I know tropical areas have bugs but one still expects to have a clean sleeping area. The house needs work.

Beautiful House on Nanzal Hill
Casa de la Vida is a beautiful house with an incredible back yard and view of the bay. The pool was very clean and there were many lounge chairs for hanging out in the evening. The house itself is nice and the two bedrooms are quite roomy. The "third bedroom" cannot really be considered a viable option for an adult. It is really tiny, barely bigger than the twin bed, and the portable A/C unit is so large and loud that it would be difficult to sleep in there. One of the bedrooms has both a king and a full size bed, and the other room has a king bed. All the beds were super comfortable, and the bathrooms were amazingly "landscaped." It is important to note that this house is on a steep hill, and you need a more powerful golf cart to get down it safely. I initially had a smaller gas golf cart, but it could not handle the hill, and I had to return it for a larger electric cart with disc brakes. That was much better but still scary. Some of the furnishings could use some updating, but all in all, it was a very nice place and the view was amazing!

great view, great location and great home
A great property with lots of character. The kitchen has everything you'll need and the property is clean and safe. Pool is beautiful and the view is unbeatable. Third bedroom is very small and could use some updating, but a great stay in a fantastic town!

Relaxing Vacation Home
First time to Sayulita. Family of six had an enjoyable time. The pool was very clean and much appreciated after spending the day in town. Azucena prepared a great dinner upon our arrival. Since our Spanish was lacking, we used Google translate to communicate with her. Had planned to use the smaller back bedroom but it does not have A/C and it was too warm in the evenings. The other two bedrooms have A/C which worked well and are large and spacious as well as each individual bathroom. The open air feel and the boulder-sized rock wall showers are unique. It is very quiet on the north end of town and the short walk to the beach is a plus! Would definitely consider staying at Casa de la Vida again.

Lovely Home
We had a wonderful time at Casa de La Vida. The home was nice and outdoor feel was awesome. The view was beautiful and so glad we had the pool. We loved the beach but it was so nice to have it to cool off after a walk from town in the afternoon. The two main rooms and bathrooms are very nice. The extra back room for our adult son was a little small only a tiny twin bed. House really only comfortably fits two couples. Other beds would be best for kids. Azucena was great and it was definitely worth having her cook some meals. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend Casa de la Vida to others.

Love this place
This was my second stay at Casa de La Vida. Home still in perfect shape. Great views, shade, and cool breeze. Short walk to beach, jungle paths, and town. Located on the quiet north end of Sayulita on a cobble stone street.

WE really loved this house. We had a perfect view of the surf in town from the deck. We would love to go back.
