About this house rental
Our property is modern, southwestern style home on 1.7 acres in the Tonto Hills subdivision. It offers a great 360 degree view of the adjacent Tonto National Forest, the surrounding mountains and the "valley of the sun". At an elevation approximately 2450 ft., the daytime highs are 5--7 degrees cooler than the valley.
The 2700 sq. ft. main house has 2 full bathrooms, three bedrooms and large office which easily converts into a fourth bedroom. The master bedroom has a king bed. The two other bedrooms have queens. The office has a day bed which pulls out into two twins. The 564 sq. ft. pool house has another full bath, two twin beds.. The entire pool /pool house area is surrounded by a 5 ft. tall security fence. There are 3 roomy, comfortable covered flagstone patios framed with imported Castle Rock stone columns, and exposed wood beam ceilings. The main house has two indoor fireplaces and a beehive fireplace on the back patio. The pool house has another indoor fireplace.
The pool is approximately 36 feet long and 20 feet wide. It's depth tapers from 2 feet to 6 feet. The spa can comfortably seat 6 adults. Both can be heated by their own dedicated propane heater. The heaters are supplied by two 120 gallon propane tanks, piped to fuel either one or both heaters. For a variety of reasons, the cost of propane is NOT included in the rental fees and must be purchased separately. The need for propane and its consumption varies with the season and the weather but typically, for a 4-6 day visit during the winter months, one full tank (96 gallons) will heat the spa and the other tank will be needed to heat the pool. Propane costs have historically hovered around $3.00 per gallon plus taxes and fees during the winter but does fluctuate with the market. The tanks are remotely monitored and promptly refilled by the supplier when they reach 30% full. Guests only pay for what they use.
(NOTE- The supplier only fills the tanks to 80% of capacity the winter, 70% in summer, to allow for expansion during the daylight hours. It is called the "Valley of the Sun" for a reason!)

the property was wonderful with an amazing 300 degree vista. The owner was very solicitous and everything from pool to appliances worked fine. The beds were comfortable and the outdoor fireplace was a nice extra. The only caution for interior design sticklers is that the decor and furniture is a bit hodge podge and could use a little TLC. I would definitely return.

House is in a wonderful location, very peaceful with plenty of wildlife to see. We saw different types of birds (including bats and an owl), rabbits, lizards, etc. The house had everything we needed for a weeks stay, and we hope to come back in the future! 😎

Our family loved our stay at this property. The house is beautiful and fully equipped with anything you could have needed. It truly made you feel like you were at home. The property is equally beautiful. Very private and peaceful. Great views and all you could hear were birds chirping. We loved it and would definitely stay there again if returning to the area. Thanks Jeff!

We had a great family stay, 3 couples. The house was very comfortable and spacious and the pool area was great, just wished the weather had bit a bit warmer. The house could use a few updates, but these were minor. Loved the Raven's View wine bar, glad we brought in a chef for our special birthday dinner as this location is a bit remote, but that is also what makes it so peaceful!

We had such a great time at this beautiful home! Perfect amount of bedrooms and bathrooms for our 3 families to stay. We visited the area for my niece's wedding and my cousins birthday. It was so relaxing, very well stocked kitchen, gorgeous scenery and very quiet location. We could not have asked for a better experience! Jeff the host, is the nicest and called to check on us to see if we needed anything! Very beautiful location in Cave Creek. The perfect high desert experience!

We stayed at Jeff’s house for Christmas. The property is every bit as good as the listing shows, and even better. This was one of the better stocked kitchens that I have seen. The sunrises were beautiful and easily watched from the comfy large recliner. A very well appointed house. We would definitely stay here again.

We were a group of 6 adult friends staying at this property. There was plenty of room for us, we didn't even use the beds in the pool house. The kitchen was well stocked and we used it quite a bit to prepare meals. We also walked to dinner one evening at Ravens View wine bar, which had great food! We had some trouble figuring out the propane heaters for the pool & hot tub, but Jeff was very accessible to help us out. The views from the property are so beautiful! We loved being out of the city and closer to nature. We did some hiking and horseback riding nearby, and an awesome full moon hike at Pinnacle Peak Park. Highly recommend this property and Jeff as a host.

What a beautiful home to stay with family to celebrate my mother in-laws 80th. Such a beautiful peaceful location. The house and pool house are so comfortable and designed to enjoy. The surrounding area is set up for spectacular views. Nice surprise with fresh farm eggs and a bottle of AZ wine when we checked in. Speaking of checking in super simple and everything is laid out for easy check out.. Jeff is a great host and easy to communicate with. Hope to come back.

A serene desert getaway
My wife I and I stayed at this lovely property for a week in late April, and it was just what the doctor ordered. The location was wonderfully quiet, nicely private in a very friendly neighborhood that is away from the hustle and bustle of Scottsdale and Phoenix. Cave Creek is a welcome 10 degrees or so cooler than Scottsdale and Phoenix, and even on a 100 degree day, the soft breezes on the shade of the secluded porch made for pleasant days and nights, and was a perfect spot to listen to the many birds. The house was more than we needed, and would be perfect for a group. The interior was very clean, up-to-date, and although we took our meals out, had a very nice kitchen. The bed in the master was very comfortable, and the bathroom featured a newer, very nicely done and spacious shower. (the guest bathroom at the opposite end has a more typical shower/bath combo).
The poolhouse would provide nice accomodations for a couple as well, and although we never used it, had a quite nice bathroom. The pool itself was detached from the main house, with access from a stone bridge. The pool would be a treat to use, but it was a little cool during our stay (warm days and cool nights chill an uncovered pool) even using the heater overnight. (As the host points out, use of the heater is a separate charge and gas prices this year mean it can add up quickly). Poolside was still a great place to soak up the sun for us!
The listing mentions desert creatures in this more natural location, but most importantly we saw no critters or creepy crawlies inside other than an occasional moth.
Jeff, our host, was exceptionally attentive, quick to respond to any questions and often reaching out to make sure all is well and offer any help he could to make our stay a good one.
I'd definitely recommend this property, and would stay again when in the area (though in warmer weather to enjoy the pool!)

Beautiful home in Tonto Hills!
This house is beautiful inside and out! We were a party of six adults, and there was plenty of room to hang out in the living room. We had lots of fun with the ping pong table. The kitchen and pantry were well stocked with everything we needed to cook a few meals in, and there was a nice dining area. Outside, we used the grill and enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub. It was nice to have the pool house with an extra full bath to use. The location is great! It's about 25 minutes to Scottsdale, 2 hours to Sedona, and 3 1/2 hours to the Grand Canyon. Jeff was the best host! He's accessible, accommodating, helpful, and truly wants you to have the best time at his house. We would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend it!

Great Stay!
We stayed at Jeff’s home for 5 weeks and had a great stay. It’s spacious and quiet, exactly what we like. It’s maybe 10 minutes from Cave Creek with its many restaurants and shops. Jeff is very communicative and dealt with minor issues as they came up.

Cozy house with beautiful views, perfect for disconnecting
My friends and I had a lovely time here, and Jeff was accommodating, helpful, and proactive in making sure we had everything we needed. The kitchen had every appliance we could possibly need, and we cooked most days. The pantry had some canned food and tea left from previous guests which came in useful as well. The instructions and follow up for taking out the trash and checking in/out were perfect. The pool was beautiful (we didn't need to heat it or the hot tub considering the temperature) and the pool house was a nice addition so all five of us could have our own space. The only issues we had were that some of the bathrooms seemed like they hadn't been properly cleaned (toothpaste in the sink, hair and dust in the tub) and some typical desert bugs making themselves known. Definitely would recommend coming prepared with a car to make going back and forth easier - delivery also had limited options. We got groceries at Bashas for the duration of our stay. The area is beautiful, a bit removed from the city and downtown - I've never seen so many stars in my life!

We had a great experience from booking the house through leaving after almost a week.Jeff is a very helpful host. The house has a great relaxed layout plus the bonus of the pool house. We very much enjoyed the experience. The only thing we’d have changed if possible is it is a bit of a hike to town. Certainly not a deal breaker, but time management is necessary. Would definitely rent again though, like I said not a deal breaker.

We stayed in this property for several weeks and I want to give a full review of the pluses and minuses. Pluses: We loved the property’s location because it is close to great hiking and the home itself has great walking out the door. You are a few minutes into Cave Creek, a few minutes from a number of golf courses, and forty-five minutes from the airport and Saturday Phoenix farmer’s markets. The property itself has a somewhat unique set-up. The house has three full bedrooms and a large office. There is a central family room with a large tv. The kitchen and eating area are a decent size. The pool and bath house is a short distance from the house, which was at times great, and other times an inconvenience. There is fencing for the dogs at both the main house (front and back yard) and the pool area. Jeff is a great host - very attentive and wants to make things work well. The development is quiet and relaxing. WiFi within the house worked well enough for me to have my Zoom meetings inside, although it could get spotty outside.Minus- The home and furniture is a bit tired and the house is on the darker side. The furniture is only semi-comfortable, although the beds were great. We bought a vacuum and some kitchen equipment that we left there. For shorter stays, this is not an issue; for a longer one it would be great for some upgrades.
