About this house rental
Ok stop. Close your eyes, and breathe in deeply. Hear that? Nothing. Except maybe some birds, or the wind rustling the gum trees. All around there is a sense of seclusion, privacy and calm. Now you can really relax.
Come on inside. The house is brand new and gorgeous, fully renovated and extended in 2020 by award-winning local architect Wes Hindmarch. There’s tons of space for two families, with four bedrooms (two queens and two twins), two living areas and two bathrooms. It’s all been professionally cleaned for your arrival. Outside there are four separate decks – an alfresco area for every season.
Don’t worry about the kids, they’ve already found the handmade timber pingpong table, or the retro arcade game table, or the tree swings, or the cubbyhouse. Or maybe they’ve already wandered off to explore the 5 fully-fenced acres of native bush.
Once you’ve settled in, why not grab a beer, or pour yourself a frosty glass of pinot grigio? You deserve it. Wander outside and say hello to one of the resident wombats who usually makes an appearance in the late afternoon, or watch the grey kangaroos and their joeys lazing in the shade of a scribbly gum. Jump into the hammock chair before anyone else does – you might never want to get out.
Who’s cooking? There are plenty of staples in the pantry to help you with your culinary masterpiece, and the kitchen is fully equipped. There’s also a BBQ just outside on the front deck, overlooking the orchard. Or if you don’t feel like cooking there’s great takeaway Thai, Indian and pizza in the village.
As the sun sets it’s time to light a fire. There are two inside – a Jetmaster open grate fireplace and a slow combustion heater, both perfect for settling down with a good book and a peaty single malt. Or if the weather is nice, head to the outdoor firepit, but be sure to get there first to claim the swing-chair. If you don’t feel like lighting a fire, don’t worry, there’s reverse cycle airconditioning throughout the house.
Or stay inside, kick the kids off the arcade table and set a new high score on Donkey Kong. There’s complimentary Netflix and Amazon Prime on the TV, and broadband wi-fi throughout the house (Satellite NBN - limited speed and data due to our regional location). There are books, games and DVDs for a rainy day. All linen is provided, including an abundance of fluffy towels. There will be no problem getting your coffee fix either, with both a pod coffee-maker and an espresso machine.
Two kilometres down the road is the beautiful Bendeela picnic and camping area, where you can wander along the riverbank under the shade of tall trees, fish for bass and other local species, or take a plunge into the water off the end of a rope swing.
Kangaroo valley village is just a 5 minute drive down the road. It has a great pub and a collection of wonderful eateries, as well as the spectacular and historic Hampden Bridge. Nearby there are almost limitless activities, including canoeing on the Kangaroo River, mountain bike riding, hiking, spectacular waterfalls at Fitzroy and Bellmore, wonderful shops and restaurants at Berry, and the glorious beaches of the Shoalhaven.
But perhaps the best thing to do is to stay put. There is plenty of room to kick a ball, ride a bike, or find a quiet spot to read a book. Send the kids to chase the wallabies out of the micro-vineyard. Enjoy a glass of shiraz and a runny King Island brie while the sun sets and the wildlife come out into the dusk. The choice is yours. Whatever you do, breathe the fresh air, soak up the tranquility and drink in the beauty of one of the most spectacular valleys in Australia.

Wirramina is a well appointed home, which looks beautiful in design and comfortable in every way. Our family of six stayed here very comfortably There are two indoor fires as well as reverse cycle air conditioning to help quickly warm up the space. There’s plenty of room to spread out and find a peaceful spot and also great spaces to come together. Plenty of games available and everyone loved PacMan and table tennis. The deck is north facing which provides a beautiful sunny spot. Getting into town is quick and Burrawang is only 30 minutes away, great pub and scenery. The host, Jo, gave us plenty of great instructions, provided excellent and prompt communication and we appreciated the welcome note and bottle of wine. Do not hesitate to stay at Wirramina. We will be back!

The property was well maintained and very private. We enjoyed our stay there. My son loved the arcade and the ping pong table as well as the numerous entertainment provided within the holiday house. We loved the small town nearby and the delicious ice cream from the sweets store. Its a wonderful house for anyone looking for peace, quiet and family time.

The house and grounds are beautifully appointed and cleaned thoroughly. We used the house as a base for our family for our daughter's wedding at Wildwood next door and it was a perfect retreat. The house was quiet and restful. It was hot and humid outside, but a haven within with wide verandahs, high ceilings and excellent airconditioning. There were wallabys and wombat wandering about. The arcade game provided was a hit with our friends who rediscovered their mispent youths, setting some new high scores!
Each room was comfortable and quiet. The living spaces were expansive allowing people to find a quiet corner or gather together for meals and a chat.
We recommend it to any families or groups of friends looking for a delightful, quiet, well appointed getaway.
Thanks to our hosts and the cleaners for making our stay so pleasurable.
Cheers

The photos did not do this home justice. Not only did it exceed our expectations, the entire process from beginning to end was so straightforward and so easy.
Joanne was an amazing host, who didn’t have to, but did gift us a welcoming present.
My family still talk about this trip till now.
Thank you Wirramina.

What a wonderful property and stay. Great spaces, comfy couches, lots of room for a family feast and well equipped. Table tennis was a hit as was the extra outdoor space for kicking the footy. Communication was exceptional and we felt welcomed.
Phone reception in the area was patchy but this wasn't a huge issue for us. Wifi was good but honestly we were happy to chat & enjoy the spaces.

This property is absolutely beautiful and perfectly designed for two families to stay comfortably together.
It was very well equipped to keep children entertained both inside and out. Our kids loved the video games, table tennis, watching the local wildlife and toasting marshmellows on the outdoor fire.
It was perfectly located for us to attend a wedding at the adjoining property, wildwood.
Thank you Jo for sharing your beautiful property with us. We hope to be back again one day.

This property was perfect for 2 families where the kids had plenty of room to play outside and plenty of room to play inside whilst the adults still had an area to relax. Great communication on check-in and easily accessible/close to everything we wanted to do whilst in Kangaroo Valley.

We had a wonderful time at Jo's property with our 4 adults and 4 kids under 4. It was perfectly set up for two families with two bedrooms and an ensuite on each side of the living space. Jo's communication was exceptional throughout our stay and you can tell she really cares about her guests. Would absolutely recommend Wirramina, it's a 10/10 stay!

The Wirramina property was the best accommodation I have stayed at. I had a lot of family staying Kangaroo Valley for my wedding and of all the places they stayed I think this is the best accommodation in Kangaroo valley. Thankyou to the team for helping us check in early. Everything was amazing, had kangaroos, wombats, bird life an arcade machine that was the height of fun. Definitely can’t recommend this place enough!

We hired this house to stay in Kangaroo Valley for our Son’s wedding. From the moment we walked in we admired and were delighted with the layout. The house was equipped with everything we could possibly need or want for the weekend. There was enough for everyone to do from arcade games to ping pong to DVD’s to watch. There was also room to spread out as there were 2 living areas. There was also wildlife, we saw wombats, echidnas and kangaroos. Anyone wanting to get away we thoroughly recommend it. It is so peaceful & serene, and can house 2 families. The check-in process was very easy too

The best family getaway!
We had the best family getaway! My mum, grandparents, brother and his girlfriend, my fiancé and our 8 month old baby girl had a lovely weekend away here. The accommodation was so comfortable and cosy! The house is absolutely beautiful and has everything you could need. We loved having kangaroos on the lawn at dawn and an outdoor fire at dusk. We loved every minute of it! Highly recommend :)

Delightful weekend in KV
Given the road closures between KV and the Highlands (which meant we could not stay at our own property in Exeter), we had to find a home for 6 to stay to attend a wedding in KV. I fortunately found Wirramina which suited us perfectly. Only minor challenges were access (as we could not get there till dark and the gate lock was quite particular), and major potholes in the road (which cost me a $600 tyre). But once settled we had a lovely time with family and attended a fabulous wedding at Melross. Thanks

Little bit of paradise
This lovely property feels like a real home. It is clear that the owners love the house and the land. It was lovely to return here for our second stay and see the vineyard coming along. The house is perfect for families - even two worked perfectly in our previous stay. There are two zones - both with TVs but you can choose how you use them. For us, it was reading in one area, and TV in the other. Lots of beautiful verandahs to take in the views of surrounding bush land.

Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful property

Beautiful and relaxing
This property was simple but stunning. Our family booked at really short notice and was accommodated without hesitation. We found the property simply relaxing. Our young children loved spotting the kangaroo's and wombats and even a couple of beautifully coloured parrots showed up one morning. Close enough to town for supplies and eateries but spent most of our time at the property.

Birds and trees and windows
We were greeted by a family of gang gang cockatoos on arrival and saw 40 bird species on the property over 4 nights as well as 'roos, wombats and sugar gliders. The house is light-filled and spacious with high level fittings and aesthetics and a great kitchen. There is room for a big family or two smaller ones with lots of space for people to spread out. The table tennis and retro arcade game are great touches. Kangaroo Valley is great whether you want to be active or chill out; the township is a few minutes by car. Very grateful to be able to stay here, hope to come back some time soon.

Perfect family getaway
We spent our family Xmas on this amazing property. All our needs were catered for and it really felt like a home away from home. Kids loved the outdoor fire pit, and spotting the wallabies and wombats every evening from the many outdoor decks. Lots of things to do nearby too - our favorite was kayaking down the river.
