The cabin and the back was very spacious. We really like the little play room on the second floor!

Everything was easy from booking to check-in/out. The cabin is a cute place with plenty of room. We have family in Glenshire, love to ski and fish +, and this place was the perfect location for all of it. We will definitely stay again and will tell friends and fam to as well.

A nice place overall. We did have to bring some towels as their was not enough for all of us. We also bought dishwasher pods as there were very few provided. The beds were all very noisy, we did laugh about that. We did really enjoy the place and it fit our family needs. We were a family of 9. Also it was nice to have a fenced yard as we did bring our dog.

Worked well for our family getaway. The owner’s suggestions concerning places to go and eat were helpful.

Nice photos!

Location is wonderful, near Truckee River and hiking trails. Lovely front deck and backyard fenced. Truckee in the summer and fall time is the best.

Host was very responsive. Excellent nightly price. Great quiet neighborhood. Dog friendly which is a real plus. Throughly enjoyed our stay

Cabin was large and had everything we needed. Host was incredibly responsive and able to work with us on extending our stay to whether out the storm.

I will most likely be booking this same cabin every year in February for my birthday. I have family in Truckee and the location is perfect.
Thank you for your hospitality

Lots of fun

Loved the neighborhood. Lots of room for family. Loved the wood stove. Pet friendly. Things that can be improved..........down stair bathroom shower head needs to be replaced, more towels, kitchen gadgets for those that cook, more toilet paper, garbage and ash cans needed to be emptied, ice flow at back door needs to be cleared, range needs to be replaced, sponges and cleaning and laundry supplies needed. Otherwise a wonderful Holiday getaway that our family needed.

Very pet friendly spot the backyard is fully enclosed and there's a doggie gate to block them off in a warm area for during family meals. Plenty of firewood was left to have for our stay. Easy kitchen to manuvour with plenty of pots and pans for various dishes. Owner was very easy to get in touch with and made this booking for 8 a breeze

We really enjoyed the ambience of the house. Considering we had Thanksgiving cooking, we were very pleased with all the cooking pots, pans, etc. We had 3 small dogs who loved romping in the remains of the snow in the fenced back yard.
We had a great time eating, drinking & playing games!

We really enjoyed our stay, and Mike went out of his way to accommodate us. The neighborhood is great and access to Truckee is easy. The kitchen was well supplied and the knives were sharp!

We had some questions when we first got there. We contacted the owner and he responded right away. He was great to work with and I would rent from him again:

The house is beautiful it needs some yard work but the inside it's just right for our needs, the neighbourhood it's quiet and beautiful. Would stay there again.

The house was perfect for my Family, great location for a base camp in the Truckee/Lake Tahoe area. The WIFI was a little spotty and slow, but for a mountain it was do able.
4.7
Some lights didn't work or the fan but over all we enjoyed it.
4.7
The cabin is quirky, but it was also light filled with an efficient wood stove, plenty of space, and a perfect location for winter adventures.

This is the second time we rented this home and are kids and the family always enjoying the stay. The only thing I would say is the beds do need ans upgrade.
4.7
Cozy cabin. Big backyard, kids had a blast playing outside building a snowman.

Mike is a great host, easy to reach and approachable. The house is old but beautiful, we enjoyed our stay. Plus the location is great! It’s quiet, safe and close to nature. We love it so much!

We reserved for 5 nights but left two days early due to carpenter ants and bees in the house. Mike was very apologetic, answered all my calls, and was very nice. Really great host, just unfortunate situation. He offered me a partial refund the first day I called him, which I got. I was offered a little more when we left early, but I didn't receive it. He was working with an exterminator to resolve the issue when we left early. It's a rustic cabin in a good location. I recommend bringing supplies like dryer sheets, fresh sponge for dishes or any lysol wipes if you want that type of thing. I like things to be clean to my standards in order for me to relax.

Great location. Our intent was to be with family and it was perfect….close and easy access to many attractions. A few things could have been fixed, ceiling fan and outside access to the backyard, but minimal in the whole scheme of things. We had a wonderful five nights! Thank you!

This home is in a great location, is clean and cozy. Plenty of space (we didn’t use two of the bedrooms) and that is with 3 kids and 2 dogs.

This rental was a great location for us. Was clean, had all the amenities. Would definitely recommend.

Great stay house was very comfortable for 7 people with plenty of room for more. Mike was quick to respond with a couple of issues but overall awesome time.

Nice clean place. Wood stove kept everything cozy.

We loved the cabin from the moment we pulled in the driveway. The layout was perfect for our group with plenty of space for everyone. The fenced backyard was great for our dogs to run around and play. All the comforts of home were there including pots and pans, appliances and towels. The neighborhood was super cute and the open space behind the house was beautiful. There isn’t one bad thing I can say about this cabin. We plan on coming back in the future and this will for sure be our go to spot. Thanks for everything Mike! We had a wonderful time!!

We enjoyed our short stay here. Plenty of space and the kids loved the yard. The kitchen was nicely stocked, which we appreciated a lot.
4.7
The house is spacious, clean and well maintained. It is perfect for our four days’ work and ski trip. Highly recommended. Will come back again.
4.7
We really enjoyed our stay. We will definitely stay here again. There was plenty of room and a fenced backyard.

Good comfortable place for a few days with family and a dog. Good hiking trails nearby.

The sheets “may” have been clean, but they where so wrinkly it was hard to tell if they’d been used or not. Comforter well used, couch filthy, some light bulbs were out. Couldn’t get tv and furnace to work. Lots of cobwebs. Felt it would make a good hunting/fishing lodge for men. We left after first night because I was creeped out. We reserved for 3 nights. Mike was nice.

My family (daughter, son-in-law, 15 year old granddaughter, and my best friend) and I spent a wonderful week at the cabin. It's well-furnished and the kitchen is well-equipped. There are lots of games, DISH cable, and a range of movies saved on the DVR. We brought a blue-ray player that hooked up easily to the system. There's a combination radio/cd/ipod dock available as well. We took day trips to Lake Tahoe, Spooner Lake and Donner Lake, as well as Reno and Truckee. There's a pool available for the neighborhood, but it's about a mile away and we never did use it. The lakes (especially Donner) were a better option for all of us. In the summer, pay attention to the weather reports! Most days were in the mid to high 80s - great for hikes and picnics - with thunderstorms moving in in the late afternoon. One day we even got a massive hailstorm that left a 2" blanket of hail in the backyard. The good news is that the storms moved off after an hour or so and we were back at the Weber kettle for dinner every night. There were a couple of problems (a non-functioning remote, and lost wi-fi service after a storm), but the owner was very responsive and we were able to resolve them very quickly. You should know that the upstairs bedroom has REALLY creaky floors and the person downstairs in the brown room needs to be a good sleeper! All up, we had a terrific week and would happily go there again!

My family stayed at the cabin for a week, and it was very comfy. It had easy access to the freeway, was close to many ski resorts, and had plenty of space.
The cabin provided various types of entertainment. The children had a good time and liked to play with the board games in the attic upstairs. There was a nice stock of movies. The books were fun to read, too!
The kitchen was nice, and the pantry had many cooking supplies. There was a nice assortment of kitchen utensils.
We had plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, so we didn't have to worry about not having enough space.
The backyard and frontyard was the kids' favorite. They made a snowman and played on the swing all the time when we were not snowboarding. We have had an awesome vacation. Hope to come back again!
Last, Mike was very nice and so kind and so reasonable to deal with in many ways :-)

We had an amazing time at this cabin! My boyfriend and I went with four of our children, ages 21 to 9. We had plans to ski/snowboard for 2 days but changed course on the second day when a snow storm came in. Instead, we drove around the lake, saw a movie and went to dinner! It sounds so mundane, but it was absolutely magical just being together, seeing the beauty of the lake and appreciating all of the different personalities and what each person could bring. The whole weekend brought so much fun, I wish I could express it.
The cabin is very large, warm and comfortable. The deck entrance in front opens up to a wide open space, where the kitchen area and living room are one. Everyone could be together and still feel there was lots of room. The living room has two comfortable couches where we could talk and enjoy the fire. I woke up early and my boyfriend's daughter was already awake. We made breakfast together and liked watching everyone appreciate our efforts. She, at 9, was so proud!
Up the stairs is the master bedroom which is peaceful and private. There is a large bathroom and a view of the snowy backyard which has a playhouse for kids! So cool! There's another room upstairs as well. It's where the kids played games that were supplied by the house. A previous guest had rigged a box to a rope, and from this room the container could be raised and lowered through an inside window down to the living room. Why are the simple things the funnest? The kids played with this for hours!
Downstairs, past the kitchen, there is a second richly colored tile bathroom/shower and 3 bedrooms. The first room is really 2, and is where the large screen TV is. On the last night, my daughter discovered the DVR and all the movies that were stored there. She was impressed with the quantity and variety and found a childhood favorite, "The Princess Bride." She bonded with my boyfriend's daughter, until we crashed their party and watched too. This is truly what memories are made of!
The final two bedrooms are colorful and very funky. They're down the hall past a large washer and dryer. One room had a ladder leading to a second bed, and this is where the 14 year old boys stayed. My daughter slept in the last room which had a large bed. It gave her a quiet space and time to catch up on her rest during her well deserved college break.
We appreciated a place that was clean, large, fun and very affordable for a larger family like ours. We will be back! Thanks Mike!

Nice house with lots of new furnishings and updates as the listing says. Owner was very friendly and responded quickly in addressing a couple of minor issues we had. The kids were pretty excited about the flat screen TV and DVR loaded with movies even though we didn't have a chance to watch much since we were out skiing during the day and visiting with local friends in the evening. The adults were excited that there was four feet of new snow the week before we arrived! Could you arrange for that again next year, Mike? :)

We had a great weekend at this nice and clean cabin. The process of booking, payment, and refund was easy and quick. Thank you Mike.
