Great place to stay with the family for a family vacation. Kids and adults loved the beach and boat! Location was great not to far from things. Suggest putting a fan in the main floor bedroom it was warm. Otherwise it was very nice.

Took a trip up north with a friend from out of state, and what a perfectly picturesque accommodation this was! Everything went smoothly from start to finish. Check in and check out were both a breeze. Whole place was immaculate. The lake and private beach were beyond expectations, and listening to waterfowl calls with a campfire going will be etched in my memory. Can’t wait to return with the whole family!

This was a surprise getaway for my wife. I told her we were going somewhere but didn't give details. The home was beautiful, romantic and looked just like the photos. It was even bigger than I was expecting. We had a great view of the lake, lots of DVDs provided and a huge kitchen for nice meals. This home was a hit! Thanks, Lizzie!

13 family members of our clan came together to celebrate birthdays and our family bond. There's good reason this home is a Super Host VRBO. Beyond the absolutely beautiful setting, every need is considered. The hosts went above and beyond by providing their pontooon boat (this meant a lot to us), while other family members kayaked and used the row boat. A last night bonfire on the private beach with a starry night capped off the stay. The walk to the beach area is magical day or night. The area is perfect for a variety of activities, shopping, dining, hiking. There's something for everyone. Such a joy to celebrate family ties in Honor's lovely nest.

We enjoyed a week at this cottage which was decorated in a cozy country cabin way.

This lovely cottage on a hill was conveniently located a short walk to private access on Long Lake. We used the kayaks and paddle boat even in late October. We were also a short drive to numerous Lake MI beaches and little towns. The steep drive and turn around took some getting used to with our 4 vehicles, but it worked!

Super clean and fit all 12 of us fine great! Pontoon was old but was all we needed for a little cruise around the lake. Centrally located to do many different things hike, wineries, breweries and so much more! The driveway is definitely a little steep but the swing set was nice for the smaller kids. The beach is a little further than it states especially when carrying things down for children (or going back up for bathroom breaks) so kind of difficult to bring firewood down for the fire pit, so be sure to bring something to carry a load of wood down.
It was still beautiful and a perfect weekend with friends. We will definitely be renting again!

Family Vacation
Loved the home ! It was very clean and well stocked in the kitchen and bathrooms. We have a senior pet, so having it pet friendly was a plus for us. Close to Frankfort and Lake Michigan, so we could have a day out. Enjoyed the pontoon as well. The only small negative was the lake was farther from the house than we understood. Would definitely come back and stay again though. Loved the area.

Amazing Vacation!
We absolutely loved this house! It was clean when we arrived. We loved the setting of the house, and listening to the frogs at night! It was so relaxing. The kids absolutely loved the pontoon and the beach! We will definitely come back!

Peaceful house in the woods
The house was beautiful and comfortable. The house is bigger than the pictures suggest. It was very quiet. A great get away in the winter.

wonderful weekend!
This is a beautiful home in a lovely area Hiking the dunes and shoreline was just what we needed. Home is very spacious with a very large kitchen. Very grateful for the paddle boat and kayaks. Even in the low temperatures of late fall it was fun to explore the lake. Being able to bring our dogs was a huge bonus!!!

Vacation 2021
We had a great time on our vacation at this property. Host was quick to respond. If I could change a few things it would be: more bath towels, few warm blankets for downstairs beds, and the check out step of washing dishes, hand wash or dishwasher and put all away, would be easier to just put in dishwasher and head home. Dishes would be cleaner especially in the age of Cov19. I would much rather empty a dishwasher run by a prior family and know dishes were clean, especially in the age of COV19. Other wise great stay!

Great house
We really enjoyed our stay at this house. The house itself is spacious and comfortable (including the mattresses which is often not the case in vacation rentals), and well equipped. There is lots to do at the waterfront, and the PlayStation, pool table and DVD’s were a nice bonus. The property manager was also very communicative and easy to work with. The beach is very private and secluded, my girls enjoyed the walk along the boardwalk to get there because there were so many frogs to see along the way. The lake was warm and sandy bottomed and there was tons of wildlife to see when we were out on the boat or just fishing from the dock. Would definitely rent this one again.

Great family getaway
We loved our stay at long lake landing. We were there in firmly shoulder season — hiking and running in shorts early In the week and 1” of snow late!
The house is wonderful. Beautiful views of the lake and the property. Located not too far from Frankfort for supplies. And a wonderful jumping off point for hikes in the woods and to the beach. The old Indian trail to Lake Michigan is right by the house and not to be missed.
The beach is great. Fire ring there for some wonderful family moments roasting marshmallows in the cool evenings.
We had one issue with the dishwasher when we arrived. The team took care of it immediately, which we really appreciated.
Will be back!

Great Winter Getaway
Our family needed a getaway and this place ended up being perfect! Myself, my sister, our 89 year old mom, my 2 girls and their spouses. Beautiful house with different spaces for all. We hiked and checked out Pt. Betsie Lighthouse. Hit the Storm Cloud Brewery, which was great! The host checked every morning to see if driveway needed plowing and took care of us!! Love this place. Would be awesome in the Summer and Fall as well!!

The Landing is Lovely!
Beautiful place for a winter stay! Our children enjoyed skiiing and snowboarding at Crystal Mountain, and we all enjoyed walks down to the frozen lake (where my son ice-skated!). The home and its amenities were perfect! Our host even cleared snow and ice from the driveway and sidewalk and a lit Christmas tree awaited our arrival. Above and beyond our expectations!

Great for outdoor adventures
The house was well-equipped with everything we needed: the driveway is paved and is not a problem. Any minor issues were immediately addressed. The house is above M22 so there is no traffic noise. We cooked at the house in its well-equipped kitchen most nights and it was great to have seating on the deck for six and sweating in the spacious kitchen for six. The house is bigger than it looks in the pictures.
The lake water is clear and the beach area is great for swimming as the water gradually deepens. On the lake on kayak or pontoon, we saw loons, bald eagles and nest, Canadian geese with their babies, deer and frogs. The lake is especially pretty because most of the houses are built behind trees, so you see the trees rather than the houses. It feels like a nature preserve but with all the comforts of a lovely house.
From this location, you can walk a mile to Old Indian Trail that goes out to Lake Michigan, you can bike five miles to Point Betsie beach and lighthouse, you can walk a block away to a restaurant, bike ten flat miles to Frankfort and its brewery, drive 15 minutes to Empire and twenty minutes to Glen Arbor.
There are other houses visible from the back yard and on the 3-4 minute walk to the water, but the beach/lake area is very secluded, almost like its own small camping ground with trees. We had fires every night and hung our hammocks.
The walk to the lake is far enough, for example, you would not leave a child napping at the house while you sat by the lake. You do need to read the notes and the instructions in the guide provided, especially if you are not familiar with a two-stroke motor that is on the pontoon boat and takes some getting used to. We had twelve adults: there are four bedrooms that have rom for a total of 8 people, then the others must sleep two to a futon to sleep the maximum of 14.
The outdoor activity and the quiet seclusion of the lake did all of us a world of good and we did not want to leave. There was so much to do and at the same time we wanted to have time to enjoy this wonderful property.

Perfect family getaway
This home is set in a private, quiet, relaxing setting, yet there is plenty to do for a large group or family. The home is a large home that is well taken care of, and the lake is very nice as well. The use of the pontoon boat is a great added value.

Wonderful. Cozy for the adults and kids. Perfect location to hit multiple lakes for ice fishing. Even got pike and perch out of Long Lake. Beautiful yard and view of the lake

Another great trip to The Landing!
This is our third time here and we always have a great time! The home is always clean, well stocked, with plenty of things to do when in the home (DVDs, games for the kids, etc..). Hard to describe but the home just feels loved, as everything is so well organized, and just feels fresh. The location is right next to the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, so there is more to do than there is time to do it. With great beaches, hiking trails, scenic overlooks, river tubing, on, and on, we never want to leave. The waterfront at the the home is totally unique as well. It is a couple of minutes walk down the trail to what looks like your own private sandy beach park! During our summer trip, the water temp was perfect and the lake was clean and peaceful. The pontoon boat and kayaks were great as well! The kids loved camping the night down at the beach area in their hammocks. During the fall this year it was just the two of us and our stay was very cozy and colorful. Great fall colors at Sleeping Bear, and cozy restaurants in Frankfort. Frankfort is a great little down about ten minutes away for restaurants etc… Great memories, plan on coming back next year!

It was nice
The pictures are very accurate of the cottage. The driveway is VERY curvy and steep. This is noted in the description of the property. We stayed the week between Christmas and New Year. We were fortunate to only have a little snow to deal with otherwise I'm not sure how that would have panned out. We were left plenty of salt for the driveway which we were thankful for. There is no WIFI, didn't realize that until we were there and asked for the password. There is VERY minimal bake ware. Virtually only a few baking sheets that were really something I would throw out at home. I had to go out and buy 2 pie pans and a cake pan. There is a walk to the lakefront. At least a minute or 2, but worth it. In the Summer I can see how it would be quite pleasant to spend some time down there. This is definitely a "Rental Unit". There were a lot of "Do's and Don'ts" posted every where which did not lean to a very homey feel for the place. We enjoyed ourselves but we probably will not be back.

Lovely home on a beautiful lake
Our family stayed on the Landing on Long Lake for a week and had a wonderful time. The house is better than the photos; very clean with beautiful wood throughout. One of the best parts of this cottage was the pontoon included with the price, as well as kayaks. We spent a lot of time cooking our own meals, playing games, watching movies, enjoying bonfires, riding on the pontoon and riding bikes. The beach is a short walk from the house (down a hill) and there's a lot to see and do in the area (Frankfort beach was our favorite- only 15 minutes away). Overall, we loved our time there and I'd highly recommend staying here. =)

Great Vacation Home for Family or Honeymoon.
The folks who rent these homes for vacations are as beautiful and friendly as the homes are. The homes are some of the best lodges and homes i have ever seen. Big enough to accommodate your whole family including your family dog. They have some great houses right near lakes with pontoon boats and other water activities. Game rooms pool tables. what a blast well worth it being near Traverse city and bear dunes.5 stars amazing!! went there for my honeymoon.
