About this house rental
1976 Northside Drive NW Atlanta, GA 30318 (near Collier Road)
NO PETS - Monthly Discounts. Located in the historic Buckhead area, known for luxury shopping, beautiful homes, and Southern charm, “The Lustron” is the most unique lodging in all of Atlanta. Part of a famous housing movement of the 1950s, every single piece of material is metal
The space
We are a local couple raised in Atlanta and this perfect location was our home for 8 years. With lots of TLC and loving care, we rehabbed this house from being a 'tear down' to a TREASURE! It has been featured in several national magazines because of its unique characteristics. It is totally made of metal. That is right....metal. It is called a "Lustron".
This home was built in 1949 so travelers need to understand what they are renting. A forgiving person who can ignore a little draft. And as a disclaimer this is on a busy road so there can be street traffic.
Other things to note
I was born here, went to college here, started a thriving business here, and found true love here. But I’ve been to many other cities and countries and believe, wholeheartedly, that I live in the best city in the world.
There’s just so much to do whether you love culture – museums, galleries, theater, music, nightclubs – or are drawn to more outdoor activities like hiking, biking, strolling through historic districts and/or checking out all the modern marvels. And it’s family friendly as well – zoos, children’s museums, and the Georgia Aquarium.
Totally one of a kind. We hang our photo with suction cups and magnets. This property is on the National Historic Register.

We were looking forward to a unique experience in this retro landmark. We were challenged by the lack of heat when we needed it, the noise from the cars gunning their engines during the night and the outdated appliances as well as the temperamental toilet.

This small bungalow with metal interior walls and ceiling, is an interesting historic oddity. Great fun to stay in. Perfect location providing easy access to Buckhead and midtown.
Pro's: Interesting property. Very comfortable. Great location.
Con's: AC window units a little loud, though they work just fine. Outside patio furniture had not been dusted, though inside was very clean.

I was moving my daughter Atlanta and rented the house for 3 nights. It was amazing to see such unique architecture. The house was decorated from the 60’s and reminded me of growing up in that era. Sarah was great to work with. The house was comfortable and clean.

I enjoyed my brief stay in this little bungalow. It is an adorable kit house from the 1950's and the owner had done an excellent job keeping it in nice shape.
Good bedding, good towels, good pillows. Only suggestion is that it was dark when I arrived and there were no motion detector lights. Thanks!

What a charming place to stay in Atlanta! I highly recommend staying here during your visit. The place is charming, a perfect size for my party, and very clean. Sarah Kathryn, the owner, makes it so easy to stay here and was such a pleasure to talk to. I would recommend to any of my friends.

What a fabulous location! We arrive and were right at home. Sarah Kathryn, the owner, was very helpful and accomodating. The bedrooms, kitchen, and bathrooms were all clean and ready for us when we arrived. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a comfortable stay in the city!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this cozy home in Atlanta. I stayed for a few days, and this was the perfect location in the city. The owner, Sarah Kathryn, was so easy to communicate with and so accommodating. This home was well decorated, cozy, and felt like home. I will definitely be staying here again, when I'm back in the Atlanta area. I would recommend this place to a friend for sure.

Chose this location to be close to my daughter's apartment on Collier Street. Great neighborhood, walked to my daughter's and walked to Tanyard Creek Park several times using pedestrian crosswalks and sidewalks. Beautiful location and landscaped very nice.
House was musty and missing bathroom door which was broken, curtain was used in place of a door. Refrigerator was filthy which we brought to the owner's attention. She checked it out, apologized and compensated us for the issue but did not clean it.
Parking was tight but we were able to deal with it.
Owner responded to my late evening text when we arrived and answered my home access and parking questions - which we appreciated.
Basically a great neighborhood location but house cleanliness was below average.

Rustic vintage, but in the most fun way. Good communication with owner. Really great bedding, towels, and decor!
