About this house rental
The historic Stonehouse at the Confluence was built in 1920 and completely remodeled in 2017. It sits on the banks of the Casselman River where it meets the Youghiogheny and Laurel Hill Creek. It is situated on a half acre corner lot in the area's most desired location.
The house sleeps up to 10 with 4 upstairs bedrooms and a sleeper couch for non stair climbing guests in the living room. There are two full bathrooms upstairs and one full on the main floor.
The home is charming and spacious with beautiful, newly refinished hardwood floors throughout. While everything is new and modern, the charms of a home built almost 100 years ago are present. With a brand new, well equipped kitchen open to a magnificent dining room, it's the perfect home for families or groups of friend to gather.
It has a large porch ideal for relaxing and a backyard with hot tub on the riverside and a large level yard perfect for tossing a football or playing cornhole. The home is walking distance to shopping, restaurants and the GAP bike trail. Take your pick of the 3 rivers for fishing or just relax on the porch listening to the rivers and birds. Trains run on the railroad tracks across the river.
Completely newly renovated–everything is brand new. Amenities include: hot tub, gas log fireplace, TV/DVD player, washer/dryer, high speed & wireless Internet, Comcast cable, gas grill, air conditioning and outdoor fire pit. All linens and towels are provided. Confluence has both a Verizon and AT&T cell tower and both work well from the house. Our home is kid friendly, with highchair and crib.
With 4 distinct seasons, the house is available year round.
Please note that there is a security camera/motion detection light mounted on the porch, facing the driveway, that we use to monitor when the space is vacant.

My husband, myself and a friend "home based" at the Stonehouse for a long weekend while in the area to ride gravel and paddle the Lower Yough. The SH was perfect for us. The historical nature of the property and the beautiful setting between the Youghiogheny and Casselman rivers made for an especially enjoyable stay. We had plenty of room to spread out and could have comfortably handled more guests with the 4 bedrooms and 3 baths.
The kitchen is well furnished for actually cooking meals,
and the outdoor hot tub was much appreciated after some adventurous cycling and paddling.
In the heart of Confluence, the house is just a short walk to cafes, shops and the GAP trail.
Owner Kara is a gracious host!
We'll be back!

The Stonehouse was perfect for our boys trip/Father son weekend. The house comfortably fit 8 of us and had enough bathrooms to gets us ready without a log jam. The kitchen was well equipped and we made some awesome meals. We loved sitting out by the fire pit. Check in process was easy with great communication by the owners. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a nice stay and would rent again if in the area.

The house is beautiful and functional in a perfect setting by the river. Our three adult children and spouses joined us for the second year. We had a wonderful time.
We love the fire pit and the hot tub by the river. It's so enjoyable to sit by the fire and listen to the trains passing by. It's so convenient to walk to River's Edge Restaurant, where we had dinner every evening.
The house is clean, and the kitchen is amazing. Instructions are very detailed and clear.

Great location for visiting the park and rafting

This is the second time our family all met at Stonehouse for the 4th of July! We are a family of 9, ages 3-67yrs. This house is the perfect location for all the activities our family enjoys. It was also nice to have good, reliable wi-fi for those of us that work remotely. All the amenities of the house were exactly as listed with plenty of space for all. You know it is a successful vacation when everyone is talking about "the next time we come....."

Great stay for family coming together from around the US! Roomy, clean, great location. Great memories created.

The title says most of it, but there is also the GAP (best bike path I have ever ridden) and walking distance to The River's Edge Cafe - quality food and welcoming staff. We will be back - with more family members!

The property is exactly as listed and was a pleasure to stay in! We had 8 adults, and all had plenty of space to be together both inside and outside. There were plenty of towels, pillows, dishes, etc. for everyone. The view in the backyard is beautiful, and the town is friendly and easy to walk around. T-Mobile has ZERO service, as expected, but the WiFi worked fine. The house was clean, the instructions were clear and not overwhelming, and we would certainly go back in the future!

We loved our stay at the Stonehouse in Confluence. The house has all the amenities we need for a great time with friends & kids. We cook a lot and the kitchen is perfect. The house is well-equipped, very interesting, and in the perfect location for us. We will definitely stay here again.

Very clean and modern kitchen should up grade he’s TV package for how expensive the place is that was the only fault we had

We enjoyed the spaciousness and comfort of the home as we traveled with friends. The ample bedroom space and 3 bathrooms were very helpful. Proximity to Ohiopyle hikes is excellent! Watching the river rise with spring rains and hearing the regular trains pass was an added bonus, especially for the kids.

We enjoyed meeting friends here. The house comfortably fit 2 families and was conveniently located for skiing.

This is the second year we stayed at the Stonehouse for the Christmas holiday, and it was delightful. This year the weather was mild enough that we could enjoy the outdoor amenities (hot tub, fire pit, grill) so that was a bonus for us.
As usual, the house was very clean and comfortable. Kitchen well-stocked, Wi-Fi strong and internet fast. The local grocery store has all the basics for a few things we needed. Confluence is a small town and quiet in winter, but as it’s very near the bike trail along the Yough, we had beautiful walks.

Outstanding stay at the Stone House - appreciated the well appointed kitchen, spacious living room, hot tub and comfy beds. Super close to the bridge to head over to town for groceries or food. Thanks for a special stay!

Stonehouse was warm and comfortable, and plenty of room for our gathering of 6 adults. Kitchen was exceedingly well stocked. Only disappointment was that so many restaurants and shops in Confluence and surrounds were closed Mon-Tue-Wed, or for the season in mid-October, including the bike rentals. We still had a great time.

My husband and I stayed for two nights, joined the second night by our son and daughter-in-law who biked the GAP and C&O trails. For us it was a quiet time to relax, explore a winery near Somerset and wait for their arrival. For them, the time in the hot tub, by the fire, and a home cooked meal were what they needed before finishing the trail. The house was so comfortable, well stocked, and the perfect location. We only wished we had more time there! And, Mitch's Food & Fuel was amazing...breakfast and lunch were not what you would expect at a gas station. We would definitely stay again and this lovely, historic home. Thanks to Yough Vacation Rentals for providing everything needed.

This was our second time staying at the property. It is a special place! We had little kiddos with us who loved running around the property and throwing rocks in the river. OhioPyle is a short drive away for hiking and enjoying the small town. Confluence is a great town to visit explore too. Tissue Farm is a great little coffee shop and art gallery, the beach at the Confluence Dam and just exploring the rivers and bike trails. Great weekend getaway!

Stone House was very nice and roomy for our group of six. It had lots of old charm but the kitchen was nice and modern. We loved the hot tub and fire pit also.

It was a beautiful, charming stone house situated next to the river and the mountains. The rooms were plenty big enough, with lots of modern updates all through the house while still retaining the aspects that make older houses so unique. Everyone LOVED the hot tub outside. We had a wonderful time checking out the area and will gladly stay again.

The Stonehouse is in a quiet neighborhood at the end of the street allowi for lots of privacy. The views are great, as well as, the hot tub and perfect front porch! The house was well equipped with towels, sheets, blankets, kitchen supplies and games. Every space was super clean! We enjoyed Ohiopyle State Park while we visited. The natural water slide, cucumber falls and the fercliff trail are a must! We are at the Falls City Pub in Ohiopyle and the Overflow in Confluence both were great! Overall, a great mini-vacation!

A group of friends needed a house to accommodate them for a weekend wedding at Fernstone Retreat. Easy drive from Pittsburgh as well as from venue. House was very comfortable and well appointed.

Myself and five friends had a wonderful time here. Spacious kitchen for great group meals, fantastic porch for some reading, great hot tub and fire pit for outdoor relaxation and views of the river. Already planning our return trip!

Overall our stay at the stonehouse was great! The house really does have just about everything you need (griddle and crockpot). The location was nice and quiet. We brought our two dogs which had a great time as well. We spent the majority of our time outside enjoying the scenery, firepit and hotub. One small issue for me was the water pressure. I have thick hair and the water pressure in the showers was not powerful. The trains were a bit loud at first but you get used to them. I would stay here again if we ever come back to the area!

We were a group of seven and we loved the beautiful, carefully maintained, clean and cozy house and surroundings.
The house has everything you need, from the fire ring, the well stocked kitchen, and furnishings. The piano was a wonderful surprise. Our friend is an accomplished piano player and it was delightful to listen to him play the piano.
Being by the river is so peaceful and we loved the sound of the trains passing by. The bike trail is a few steps from the house and we could also walked to our favorite restaurant. For breakfast we called in our order at Mitche's Cafe, just five minutes away. It was so convenient to rent our bikes from the cyclery, which is a short walk from the house. The bike trail is also a short distance from the house.
Our host is very attentive and had detailed amenities such as bottled water, coffee and everything you need to cook a family meal.
Thank you so much for letting us enjoy your beautiful home. It was amazing and we look forward to going back next year.

What a beautiful old home. Central location to activities such as rafting, hiking and horseback riding. Had all amenities we were looking for in a rental. The only downside is the train tracks on the other bank of the river. Trains run all day and night (4-5 times during the night alone)(which we were aware of) but didn't realize they blow their whistle at every road which is loud. Owner has ear plugs provided for this. 😊
There is also a very loud fire siren across the river that went off 2 of the 3 nights for what seemed like forever. If It wasn't for those disturbances (which we knew about to some degree) it would be perfect as it's a very serene setting.

We have stayed at the Confluence Yough properties year after year, and the Stone House at least for the past 4-5 years, always clean, ready to go, offering great accommodations in the Laurel Highland!

From the moment we made the reservation to check out, I can't think of anything that could have been improved upon. The notifications on amenities, check-in details and responses to questions were thorough and prompt. The house was very comfortable and lived up to or expectations and beyond. Highly recommend this property.

We were a group of girlfriends for our annual girls weekend and the property was wonderful! Kara, the manager that I emailed with was so responsive and helpful, including the weekend we were there. We absolutely loved her. The area was close to multiple things as well as a very calm little area that we took to our advantage on Sat relaxing in the hot tub and reading. The place was also very well stocked (minus a few things that are not an every day type item) we were honestly shocked at how much the house had for us to use. Thank you for helping to provide a wonderful weekend and we all would def rent from this house again.

Wonderful location for the bike trail! Had beautiful weather so we’re able to enjoy front porch and fire. Everything inside was great as well. Had all the necessities. We had 3 couples, so it was nice to each have their own room and bathroom. Would definitely recommend!!

Kara was great to work with! The house was quiet, spacious, and very clean. We had some trouble with the gas fireplace and Kara got right on it and had it fixed right away. The house was perfect for getting to falling waters, polymath park, and the United flight 93 memorial. Although there weren't many places to eat out we didn't go hungry! The kitchen worked well for dinners there as well as pizza take out. And then there was the outdoor hot tub! Would absolutely stay there again.

This was a very pleasant and accommodating property. The four bedrooms and 3 full baths made our 8 person/2 dog stay very comfortable for a long weekend. It was a perfect meeting spot between Cleveland, OH and Washington, DC and not too far from Seven Springs where about half our group spent the majority of the time. We were happy we brought enough food for the weekend, since there didn't seem to be any nearby restaurants open. However, the kitchen was well stocked and spacious for preparing family meals. The hot tub and gas fireplace were much appreciated, and the setting was very serene. Highly recommend.

We stayed at the Stonehouse over an extended Christmas weekend. We could not have been more pleased. It was ideal for our family getaway (all adults but items to accommodate babies/children are provided as well). The home was very clean and attractively furnished. Cute holiday decorations including a festive tree were a nice touch for the season.
The kitchen has everything one needs to prepare and serve meals. We inquired ahead and knew to bring all our basic pantry items as these are not stocked. It’s a roomy house with a great open-plan kitchen/dining area including countertop island seating for convivial cooking and socializing.
In the living room, we appreciated the extra large and comfy sofa to gather and watch our favorite holiday movies-plenty of room! The fireplace is lovely and added a charming warmth to the holiday ambiance.
Bedrooms and bathrooms are nice, good water pressure and plentiful hot shower water. Since everyone has an opinion about beds, we don’t find user comments very helpful. That said, there are plenty of extra pillows and blankets to adjust one’s comfort level.
The weather was frigid (-3F) so we did not get to enjoy the hot tub. Despite the extreme cold, the house stayed cozy (and the owner checked in with us via a thoughtful e-mail to make sure the climate control was adequate to the challenge).
We found the setting quite lovely with nice views of the river, a quiet and peaceful neighborhood, plenty of parking. The outdoor spaces look ideal for warmer season enjoyment, with fire pit, gas grill, hot tub…next time!

We have loved every property owned by this group that we have stayed at. The homes are comfortable, clean, spacious, and close to hiking areas, breweries, wineries, and more. It is a great getaway for family and friends. It is nice to not have to worry about extra blankets, towels, kitchen necessities (pans, plates, silverware, etc.). Highly recommend these very relaxing homes.
