About this cottage rental

Our home has two bedrooms - one with a pillow top queen bed and the other has two single beds, accommodating up to 4 guests total.

Pamper yourselves with our 100% cotton linens, down duvets, thick towels and a tub/shower combo with porcelain tile surround to soak in after a hike in the park.

With hardwood flooring throughout, our living room has a cushy down sofa, additional seating w/ vintage designer side chairs and a 4K 43" Web TV that you may use our high speed WiFi for streaming video, Netflix or other services during your stay in Joshua Tree, in addition to local TV reception. The sound bar and subwoofer has Bluetooth connection so you may play your own music from your device.

You'll love our cool retreat that has an evaporative cooler instead of AC -- cools the fresh outside air with moist cool air inside! For more info, Google EVAPORATIVE COOLERS / SWAMP COOLERS. We have ceiling fans in each room, too.

In the winter months, stay warm and cozy using the natural gas wall heater that warms the house and electric space heaters in each bedroom, if needed. Out back, we have a FIRE PIT to enjoy on the cooler nights.

A corrugated metal fence in the backyard adds privacy during cook-outs on our propane gas grill. Outdoor seating for star gazing and lounging and a covered paved patio.

Guest access
Our full kitchen will make your stay comfy if you want to enjoy meals in. Full size top-freezer fridge, a gas range, microwave, and a dishwasher for easy clean up. We've stocked the cabinets with all the dishes, glassware and cookware you will need, utensils and pantry basics for your use, too.

If you need to clean up after a long day in the park, we offer our washer and dryer for your use . We do have an iron and ironing board if you really want to spiff up before walking down to the Joshua Tree Saloon to enjoy a burger and catch some live music!

Interaction with Guests

You'll have the house to yourselves for privacy and enjoyment, but our manager is just blocks away to help with anything you may need.

You will love our home's close access to everything in town - art, music, restaurants, and the Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings. The Visitor's Center for the park is just blocks to the west and it's a quick 10 minute drive to the National Park's West entrance.

We're located just across from the exclusive Mojave Sands Motel and down the street from the gorgeous Coyote Hole, our stunning hiking area in south Joshua Tree.

If you need ride, we have a local bus within a block, we have cab service available and gas stations in town to fill up for your scenic drives through the desert landscape. UBER and LYFT now available in the area, too.

Great stay!

Great stay!

We really enjoyed our stay! The place is very comfortable and conveniently located! Walking distance to Joshua Tree town and a few min drive to the west park entrance. We went in the winter when it was very cold and we’re very comfortable, there was good heating. The outdoor space is great, only a bummer we couldn’t use the fire pit due to county rules. Stephen was also great at communicating with us. We had a great stay and definitely recommend this place!

We had such a great time at the house! Not only was it a prime location, but the house was super cozy and had the most comfortable bed and pillows! Anything we needed was a call/text away! Highly recommend this property if you need a couple nights on the town or going to the Park! We are definitely going back!

The location to restaurants and park was within 10 minutes. The amenities with soft comforters, extra bath supplies, towels and full equipped kitchen felt like home away from home! We were absolutely blown away by the hospitality and friendliness stephen showed us from day one. It was perfect for the two of us while traveling through to see the national park. There was laundry available which made a HUGE difference in our trip. The house was cozy, and in a quiet neighborhood, very close to the National Park and any other restaurants and groceries you might need. Would highly recommend to all who pass through, and would stay again!

We loved this place for our stay in Joshua Tree. Close to everything and easy to find. It was clean, very comfortable and our host made sure we had everything we needed. This house was ideal for two singles traveling. Would also be great for a couple and one or two others. I would stay here again!

The manager Stephen is very welcoming and helpful. He took time showed us around and provided all the useful information around town when we arrived. The house is clean and cozy. It is supplied with everything we need. The bed is comfortable and the comforter is warm. The kitchen is functioning very well. The laundry is another big plus. We liked the BBQ and the backyard. We really enjoyed our stay and will certainly come back or recommend it to our friends.

We enjoyed staying here. So close to Joshua Tree National Park. Comfortable and cozy bedding, a lot of extra supplies and a great shower. Private back yard for relaxing, fenced in property and within walking distance for meals and convenience stores. Very caring and pleasant owner.

The home was perfect for our short desert getaway. It is close to Joshua Tree National Park entrance so that was very helpful. The home itself was very clean and well appointed. We were pleased that the heaters were working when we arrived because it was quite cold at night. Even though it is close to the highway, we didn't hear any noise and it felt very private. Thanks for having us!!

I stayed a couple of nights while I visited Joshua Tree National Park. The cottage is super easy to get to and get around from - it's close to the park entrance and visitor center, as well as "downtown" Joshua Tree restaurants and shops. The cottage is well-maintained, modern, clean, and comfortable - plus it has a great kitchen. The manager Stephen was very nice and had lots of good recommendations for things to do/places to go in town. I would definitely stay again!

My husband and our two small children stayed in this home and found it to be very clean and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen made it easy to prepare and serve our own meals. Very close to the park, where we spent most of our time. Only drawback for us that it seemed to be in a run-down neighborhood that we didn't feel super comfortable walking around in. Host was very responsive to questions and was very well organized. Overall, a cute little home that suited our needs and was nice to come home to after a day of adventuring in Joshua Tree National Park.

Well furnished and comfortable little house in the town of Josua Tree. Not too far from the Yucca Valley for shopping etc. Accommodated our needs perfectly and allowed us many days of hiking the Joshua Tree Park. Close enough to Palm Springs etc., for day trips and sight seeing.

We stayed at the Sunburst Cottage over our wedding weekend. It was perfect for our three night stay. Not only are you very close to the park, but you're also basically in walking distance of so many great places in Joshua Tree, like Pie for the People and Joshua Tree Saloon. The manager, Stephen, was wonderful too - answered all our questions and gave us great restaurant recommendations. Stephan was super responsive, both before our trip and during the days we were there. We really enjoyed talking with him about how he ended up living in Joshua Tree. This one is a very good deal cost-wise, and we were refunded our damage deposit right away. Great get-away for a couple of old friends.

The cottage was very clean, the beds comfortable, and even in the summer, the cottage stayed cool. Stephen was very friendly and helpful! He gave us suggestions on hikes at the park, places to eat in town and where to find groceries. We will definitely stay here again when we go back to Joshua Tree.
