About this apartment rental
The Holy Moly is a revitalized historic building in the downtown blues precinct of Clarksdale.
Originally built as a masonic temple, it was purchased in 2012 by an Australian couple who have worked creatively to revitalize the building and help bring life, art, and music back to the streets of downtown. The Eastern Star executive suite has been designed for staying in comfort for a few days (to take in the delights of Downtown) or for medium to long term stays (to work on a creative project, record an album, develop a show, write a book, or make a film in the area). This studio apartment is quite spacious at over 900 square feet, and has 14 foot high ceilings, a full kitchen with all new appliances, a full bathroom with a bathtub, and a washer & dryer. The king-size bed has a great view of the Activated TV (and complimentary WiFi is included). Heating & air-conditioning is operated by the guests in residence. The Eastern Star executive suite is situated on the ground floor [no stairs] of The Holy Moly, and it is elegantly-comfortable, whilst sticking to the true Delta traditions of resourcefulness and creative re-use. The unique decorative style could be described as part 'industrial,' part 'artist’s loft,' combined with a whimsical 'feminine aesthetic.' The owners of this apartment, originally drawn to the area from their interest in the Delta Blues and in the arts in general, are both musicians. They strive to encourage those interested in the arts to visit and enjoy the evolving culture, blues history and unique eating experiences that Downtown Clarksdale provides. Leave your car parked at the front door of your suite, and walk everywhere-- only a few hundred feet in any direction --for attractions, ATMs, restaurants, museums, and groceries. Explore the detail, in detail, whilst having the opportunity to meet others who live, work, and visit downtown Clarksdale from all over the world. Many visitors, like the owners of The Holy Moly, have fantasies of visiting and staying longer in the Delta....... The standard run of hotels and motels can be found anywhere in any regional town, but people looking for an unforgettable and unique Mississippi Delta experience may do well to start their search for their new Delta home, even if it’s only for a few days, right in the heart of it. In 2014 the Mississippi Delta was declared a 'National Treasure' by the U.S. Department of Interior.

This place is in perfect distance to everything. Inside was amazing. I truly loved my trip away from the city. I will definitely be visiting again!!!

Disappointed but good location
We have stayed in may”Home away” houses and condos all over the country and the first impression here was not the one we wished. You walk in to a very large room with a concrete floor stained with the glue of the previous flooring with some throw rugs around. We went to pull our clothes out of our suitcases since we were staying for 5 days but there was only two luggage racks, the kind you move suitcases through a hotel, no dresser or chest of drawers. We had to live out of our suitcases for the time we were there. The kitchen had enough plates, utensils, etc. for two but there was no coffee filters no sugar no spices of any kind, nothing to make a stay a little more comfortable, you know the little things that last and you shouldn’t have to buy for a short stay. The Executive Suite faces due east with huge windows that don’t open and are covered with very light curtains ( I use curtains loosely) so don’t expect to sleep in, it gets very bright early and speaking of sleeping, the king bed is two twins pushed together. There were some other minor things that all together made us feel the price was more than what is was worth. As I said we have stayed in many “home aways “ and this one had the least feel of “Home”. It did have some good qualities like being within walking distance to many places in downtown Clarksdale, the ac worked well and the shower was great. There was parking directly out front. We only met Adrian and he was very friendly and we were allowed to stay past check out time, thank you. With some homey additions and touches it would be more comfortable, but as it is we wouldn’t stay again. I don’t usually write reviews because we have found that not many places are perfect but there is always so much more good than not. This time we were disappointed.

Loved the town and the whole ambience of the place.
The property was.as expected, clean and all the things i needed for a simple few days,i really don,t require a lot on a trip like this,i couldn,t get the oven working, and there wasn,t what we in the UK.call a grill,i don,t doubt the oven was working,i just couldn,t get it to work, and i have no doubt that if i had contacted Adrian he would have came down amd explained, but i let it slide, there was a washing machine and dryer, that was handy, and a TV with Netflix again though i am not looking for that,so overall it was fine its just that people are looking for different things,i am looking for clean, and it was.I would stay again without a doubt.

Holy Moly, Comfortable and Convenient
Location, location! Holy Moly is conveniently located in downtown Clarksdale. Each day I woke and sat on the bench outside to watch the sunrise over the bus station while enjoying a cup of coffee and painting on the bench right outside the door. Towns people and tourist stop to chat as they are out for a morning stroll. The bed is quite comfortable and the kitchen allows you to cook your own food or eat out. Adrian and Carla were super friendly and accessible when we needed them. I'm definitely go to stay here again.

Location, Location, Location!
Enjoyed our stay at the Holy Moly in Clarksdale, Mississippi. Great location to everything Clarksdale. We were able to park and walk to most local attractions including Ground Zero and the Blueberry Cafe. Both a must visit in Clarksdale. The Holy Moly was comfortable and clean with everything you'l need for your stay. Aiden met us as expected and answered any questions we had about the area as it was our first visit. Friendly and helpful hosts!

Great place to stay!
The Holy Moly has everything you need and more! It's clean, comfortable and the perfect size for two. The location couldn't be better. It's within walking distance to food, drink, and music especially if you're in town for a festival. Levon's Diner is right next door and it's delicious. Adrian and Carla were perfect hosts. I'd definitely stay here again!

Well equipped centrally located
We rented this apartment as we wanted to visit Clarksdale and experience the blues atmosphere. The apartment is very special because it is a former barbershop which has been changed so that it has everything you need including well equipped kitchen and bathroom with washer and dryer.
We had a great stay!

Our stay during the Juke Joint Festival, 2015
My husband and I just returned home after our stay at The Excutive Suite of the Eastern Star. We had such a wonderful time in Clarksdale. The property was in a perfect location. Everything was in perfect order, clean, and loads of space. We suggest a mirror over the lavatory and better lighting in the bathroom, as it was very difficult to shave, or do other necessities. Note, no TV, hair dryer, or music speakers. Pluses are iron and ironing board and washer and dryer. We would definitely stay again.

The Holy Moly -- It's Close to Everything!
My friend and I took a road trip to Clarksdale, MS and were looking for a place to stay in town. The Holy Moly Eastern Star Executive Suite is a large space perfect for two, but could definitely hold more if another bed was added. All the appliances were new and the space was very comfortable and clean. That being said my favorite part about it is the location. We were within walking distance of food, drink and music (my three favorite things). We ventured to Cat Head, Red's, Ground Zero and Delta Amusement. Hoping to cat Rock 'n Blues Museum next time we are in town. Can't wait to see the upstairs during Juke Joint Festival in April. Thanks for your kindness Adrian and Carla. You made my mini vacation more than pleasant.

Great Location for Entertainment , Spacious Living Space and Delightful Host
My wife and I attended a friends 30th anniversary party held in Clarksdale over the last weekend. The Holy Moly was a good value for the location and space. Our friends stayed at a more established property across the Sunflower River about 4 long blocks away and had to drive everywhere. Others stayed at the Hopson Plantation "shacks" and also had long drives. The minuses were few and I'm sure the owner are aware of the need for a larger mirror in the bathroom. (washer and dryer a plus!). Cable TV was not available at many of the other places we checked as was the case at Holy Moly, but it really didnt matter to us as they had a good wi-fi connection --as well as Roku with Netflix etc. Parking (free) alongside the curb in front of HM was a plus for loading/unloading as well as the fact that there are no stairs to climb. 14 ft ceiling and a large sitting area gave us the opportunity to entertain guests without feeling like they were in our bedroom space. Its a nice setup for a short stay. Two large clothes hanger racks and an antique chest would hold a lot of clothes, so a longer stay is certainly possible as well.
Adrian, the proprietor who greeted us was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area.

Comfy accommodations!
Spent 2 nights in this wonderful, historic place. Adrian & Carla have done an amazing job restoring this building. Large place with plenty of room. Kitchen had everything we needed. Large bathroom with full size washer/dryer! Bed was very comfy & warm. Watched a couple documentaries as we relaxed.
Adrian was always available & we loved getting to know him & his wife, Carla. The work they are doing upstairs is so exciting & we can't wait to return to see the finished product. Would love to host an event here some day!
