About this house rental
Our home is perfect for vacations with family or friends. Over the last 12 months we have installed new floors, new carpets, new kitchen countertops, a new dining room table, all new exterior decking and more!
Our home is a private 3 bedroom, 3 bath home, sleeps up to 10. Hidden away amongst the trees on a marsh-front lot with crabbing/kayaking dock, Lowcountry Folly boasts ocean views from the upper screen porch and easy beach access across the street. Close by you can find outstanding surfing at the Washout, and Charleston is a short drive away.
There are dual master suites, one with a king bed, sitting area, it's own TV and another with a queen bed and en suite bathroom. The 3rd BR has 2 sets of bunk beds (sleeps 4) and is adjacent to a large bathroom w/ shower and tub: perfect for families or a girls/guys weekend away. There's also a super-comfy full/queen air sofa-bed in the living room to sleep an additional 1-2 guests. The house has an open floor with a large dining table that easily seats 8-10, and a separate kitchen eating area. Front and back decks provide for outdoor dining and a Weber gas grill sits on the front deck. A screen porch above the rear master BR has incredible 360 views of the ocean, marsh, Morris Island lighthouse, Long Island River and Lighthouse Creek, Charleston Harbor and the most amazing sunsets you've ever seen. Large open back yard with private dock for crabbing, launching your kayak, or just watching the sunset and marsh wildlife.
Numerous amenities, including 3 flat screen HD TVs equipped with local channels, sling, Netflix, 3 Roku remotes, outdoor speakers, and high-speed internet. The house has also been recently re-painted and re-decorated. Fully equipped, completely remodeled kitchen with Bosch dishwasher and microwave, basic spices, and all the cookware you need for a simple breakfast or an all-out low-country boil.
Public beach access is across the street, and the location at Folly's NE end means sparsely populated, lush beaches, and outstanding surfing and surfcasting. We are 3 miles from center street so you’ll be able to fully relax at our quiet home. You're a short walk or bike ride from the NE end of the island and up-close views of the famous Morris Island lighthouse. A short bike ride in the other direction puts you at the restaurants, shops, and bars along Center Street, the Folly Pier, or the iconic 24/7 Bert's Market for some organic vegetables, a bottle of wine, or a growler of one of your favorite microbrews. Downtown Charleston is a short 25 minute drive in the car, making Folly Beach Escape the perfect location for visitors looking to experience a little of bit of everything Charleston and the South Carolina coast have to offer.

This house worked perfect for our family! Convenient location to beach with everything we needed for our stay. This end of Folly is much nicer and quiet than into town but also an easy ride to get to the hustle and bustle for shopping and eating. Would stay here again the sunsets on the marsh are unbeatable!

This was the perfect spot for our family (Two sets of grandparents plus us and our toddler). The pictures are accurate and the living room/dining room area is so spacious, perfect for hanging out and having meals! The rooms were all great with their own bathrooms, and we loved the crows nest feature above the primary bedroom :)
It was literally a one minute walk to the beach, which made our visit so convenient and able to come and go as we please. The neighborhood is quiet and lovely! We hope to come back again soon.

We loved this location as it is a bit calmer traffic than closer to town. There were a few details about the house that needed addressing and the owner appreciated the feedback. The view of the marsh? Spectacular! And a fun dock to try crabbing or catch minnows for fishing. Three bathrooms for the three bedrooms were definitely a plus. The open living room was a great chill space whether one was in the kitchen or in front of the TV.

We went for the July 4th week, the house was adorable and fit us and our family comfortably. We felt like we were at home the entire week. The view of the marsh was better than we expected, pictures do not do it justice! It was just a short walk to the beach and it was quiet since were away from the center of town and close to the lighthouse.

This home is modern and well maintained. The owner is very responsive to questions and quick to address any issues that may pop up. They are ready to accept responsibility and find ways to make your stay a great one. I would have, perhaps, liked to have a few more extra linens available. The decks, front and rear, are very nice and new and the kitchen is excellent and well equipped. The beach access is quite near and the walk is only a couple of minutes. Enjoy!

Overall a great place to stay if you want a relaxing time at the beach. The house is located on the far side of the island which is much less crowded, especially the beach. The house was clean and comfortable. Absolutely no complaints. I would definitely recommend.

We loved our stay here! The house was a great space for six of us to stay (4 adults, 2 kids) and could have easily accommodated two more people. Our kids loved the bunk beds and we found the other bedrooms to be quite comfortable as well! Everything is recently updated and in great condition. We like to cook and found the kitchen well-equipped for making meals at home. We also enjoyed the dock by the marsh and the extremely convenient beach access! It took about a minute to get from the house to the beach access. The owners were easy to communicate with and quick to respond when we had a question about check-in time. I would definitely recommend this house for anyone staying at Folly!

WONDERFUL
The hostess was more than amazing! Instructions were clear and concise. The kitchen was perfect …had everything we needed. Bedrooms were awesome…. My five month old grandson slept in middle bedroom because it was quiet and dark. One of his parents slept in there with him each nite. The crows nest area was great for the grownups; my daughters and I enjoyed a glass of wine up there after coming off the beach. Access is close and nice able to wheel wagons/strollers down ramp. The decks were wonderful and the two 3yr old grandsons loved seeing the crabs come out of the holes by dock. My two yr old granddaughter did also. The backyard is very nice! Only one of my daughters and her family stayed at night but we all slept really well! Hope to go back in the fall!!

Great Beach House
Great week on Folly. The house is located across the street from the beach, easy access. House had plenty of room for the 7 of us adults, 3 bathrooms which was great. The gas grill was great for preparing fresh seafood. Kitchen was setup with everything we needed; even a big pot for a seafood boil. Emily the owner was was very responsive and checked in with me throughout the week. The new deck was great, especially the marsh view in the back. They even had beach gear available for guests to use.

Relaxing Beach House
We had a total of 5 adults and 5 children at one point during our stay and we fit very comfortably! Loved the location just a walk across the road to the beach ! The kids loved playing cards in the crows nest and the two decks made it possible for some quiet. Comfortable beds and everything we needed!

Family reunion
Our daughters and their families had not seen each other in six years. We picked this property on the marsh, but so close to the beach and the Morris Lighthouse end of Folly to reunite. Our three grandchildren (10, 7 & 6) enjoyed their bedroom with its bunk beds, their parents enjoyed their individual rooms and private baths, and ALL enjoyed the Crow's Nest except for the gnats. The property has new sturdy front and back steps and it appears more work is being done on the ground level. More spoons and paring knives would be an asset to an easy to work in kitchen. We'd come back for another local reunion. And yes, there are gorgeous sunsets.

Long weekend with family & our college student
This home was comfortable, roomy, and everything our family needed for a special weekend visiting our college student. There were 7 of us, including grandparents and teenagers. There was space for everyone.
The kitchen is situated perfectly for cooking and visiting with family, and there are plenty of dishes and accessories. I loved the farmhouse sink and new appliances. My mother loved the light fixtures in the kitchen and living area. The master shower was very nice. The beds were comfortable; we all slept very well. The crow's nest offers beautiful views of the marsh and enticing peeks of the ocean. It's a great spot for morning coffee and early evening beverages. There is brand new decking on the front and back of the house.
The location was perfect for our needs. It is very easy to get into Charleston from here, but there is plenty to do on Folly! Our entire family really liked this quiet end of Folly Beach and would love to come back.

Loved the view of the marsh!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - the house is super cute and we LOVED waking up to a view of the marsh and watching the sun set in the evening. It was also nice that the beach was just across the street as we walked over to watch the sun rise in the mornings and it wasn't too far of a walk when carrying all of our beach stuff. The master bathroom has been renovated and is awesome, especially the shower! We ate out mainly, but the kitchen also looks nice and is updated. Overall, the house was very comfortable, felt like home, and we'd definitely stay here again!! Only notes are that there are some loose boards on the marsh dock so be careful walking out to the very end and we'd probably bring a couple pots if we were planning to cook as we mainly saw non-stick ones that were pretty scratched up.

Perfect beach vacation for family
My family and I love Folly Beach and this wonderful home did not disappoint. We have been renting homes on Folly for years and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We loved the marsh views and being able to hear the ocean from the screened-in crow’s nest. There was even a peekaboo ocean view. The short walk across to beach access was easy. We took daily walks on the beach to Morris Island lighthouse. The house was comfortable and beautifully decorated. A perfect beach trip and stay.

Great house on east side of Folly Beach. Unable to see the beach from house but super close to beach entrance. Crows nest lovely for marsh sunsets. Owners very attentive.

Great beach retreat
We had a great experience here. It was our family of four and our in laws. The house is a convenient walk to two public access points. There is a surf company that does lessons every morning at one of them, but they didn’t really get in our way too much. Do try to avoid having to run out for groceries during the week because it is a fairly time consuming drive back to a full grocery store. We did grocery delivery our first day there and were pretty well supplied for the week. We also enjoyed the dock on the creek as one of boys enjoys fishing. All in all a great experience

Cozy cottage in the perfect location
We had a wonderful week at Emily’s place! Her home was clean, the kitchen had everything we needed and the sunsets on the marsh were spectacular . Our kids loved the bunks in the bedroom, as well as fishing and crabbing on the dock. The house layout was perfect for dining and keeping an eye our small crew. Beach access was simple . Emily was super responsive with any questions we had. Our family can’t wait to return .!

Great Spring Break Stay
House is in a great location near the lighthouse/east end of the island. We rented bikes for our teens who rode both the 3 miles to town and the 300 yard ride to the end of the island. The weather was a bit overcast during our stay but the view of sunset is my favorite at Folly and this home has a great perch from which to view it! There is a beach access path just 4 driveways down. We had 4 teens who were able to spread out in the 2 extra bedrooms and mom & dad enjoyed the master. The beds were very comfortable and the roomy living room and kitchen allowed us to all be together comfortably. Highly recommended!

We loved the location and the beautiful marsh views
Drinking coffee and watching the sun rise in the crows nest was so peaceful and breathtaking. We loved the fact that we had a yard for the kiddos. Owners were responsive and overall the house was as advertised. We had a great trip and will consider renting this place again.

Mostly good
Liked the marsh, mistakenly thought we would have a beach view. House lay out was good, there were some updates but some things were old or needed repair. Easy to access Entrance to property and correspond with owners

Casual Weekend
The owners were great and the rental process was easy. The house is a bit far from town, and with driving golf carts at night discouraged, that was our only drawback. If you want a quiet beach on the far end of the island, this house works.

Perfect for a Family. Casual and Comfortable Beach House
We had a lovely time at this property. The setting was perfectly situated overlooking the marsh and across the street from the beach. The back deck was large and breezy. And the Crow's Nest was a great way to end each day watching the sunset over the marsh.
The entrance, family room, dining room and kitchen are open and plenty spacious for our family of five, and all the windows provided great natural light. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking.
The beds were plenty comfortable. There was an issue with the air conditioning in the master bedroom. It was quickly resolved by the owners when we arrived. They provided a portable air unit that did the job to our satisfaction.
We would definitely stay here again, and may do just that.

house needs a little updating
The location was great, close to the beach and not too crowded. The house needs an improvement in the A/C and could gave been a little cleaner. The owner said they were trying a new cleaning service and they may want to go back to the old one. House was "mostly clean" and they left sheets in the washer and dryer for us to take care of.
The kitchen was well supplied bit the fridge/freezer doors all need to be fixed, as well as the ice maker.
Beds were all comfortable, the crows nest was a great spot at sunset, shaded with a good breeze.

Amazing Refuge at Folly
Our family spent one month in this amazing place. The house was just what we needed to unwind and connect with each other. It has everything you need. Every night we enjoyed the sunsets in the crow’s nest or on the back porch. The side deck was perfect for grilling out. And we all loved the backyard and dock in the beautiful marsh. We have little kids so having the beach just 3-5 minutes away was so perfect. We all love to surf and we were not disappointed by the fun waves only steps from our door. Our only complaint was that we didn’t stay longer. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful home with us! We are already planning a time to come back.
