The place was great, had so many activities for the family with plenty of space for everyone. Beautiful and private property that was very peaceful.

This property offers a lot of privacy. Our family enjoyed the pickelball court, the child scooter, the bonfire and the many outside chairs & tables.
4.8
Quiet location, spacious and relaxing. The hot tub and pickleball court were our favorites.
4.8
Cabin fit our needs very well. The outside area was great for the kids and our stay. Spent a lot of time on the tennis/pickle ball court and the rope/tree swing was a big hit with all the young kids.
4.8
A nice quiet location, close to local activities and restaurants if needed. Lake is weedy but there are deep spots to swim off the pontoon which was nice. Lots of toys available to keep kids entertained. A very well equipped kitchen.
4.8
We had a wonderful stay. The kitchen is very well stocked with dishes and appliances. Everything you could ever need. Lots of outdoor equipment for activities. The tennis court was a big hit. Well maintained property and very clean. Will definitely look to go back!

Host was responsive and easy to work with, the place was amazing. So many activities we could have stayed there for much longer. I recommend this place to anyone.

An excellent location to have a great time for a large group of adults. We are a group of friends that get together once a year, and we were not disappointed. The house was great for our needs, plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy and great weather.

Beautiful property with quick access to all the area has to offer!

This was our second Christmas stay at this beautiful property. The house was decorated for the season and our children and grandchildren had a great time. There are so many activities do do on the property and so much room that everyone could spread out and have fun.
Kari is a a great host and is very responsive.

We really enjoyed staying in your lovely home in the woods with our 2 dogs. They got lots of walks in the "woods". Even thought it was in the 20s and 30s, we still hiked, kayaked and played lots of board games. The heat was a bit wonky and we wouldn't have even noticed if it hadn't gotten down to the 20s at night, but the owners responded quickly. There are plenty of space heaters and blankets! And the wood fire was just what we were looking for. We couldn't quite figure out all the hot tub stuff. Just a lot of technical reading and I didn't want to mess it up. Maybe I was too tired from all the walking, LOL! We cooked all our meals and everything we needed for cooking was available. Thanks again! (sorry we had to mark to a 4 because of lack of heat; but thank you for the many options available to keep us warm)

The property was perfect for our needs. There was plenty for the grandkids to do and they tried to do it all! The place was very well equipped with everything we needed. Adults really enjoyed the fire.

Great 4 days on this private and quite property. Plenty of room for 11 guests, 6 adults and 5 children - 13 years to four months. Lots of activities for all of us to enjoy from boating, fishing, tennis, ping pong, biking etc. Pretty much stayed there the whole time. Kari was great at answering our questions and keeping in touch during our stay as well.

It was a very nice property

Overall, a great experience. Here's our families "Pros/Cons" list.
Pros:
--Kitchen is ridiculously stocked with everything you need
--The home is well decorated and maintained. Clean. Old barnwood decor throughout. It's awesome
--The sand area and hammock were appreciated and well used.
--Lots of land, means no near neighbors. Can spread out a bit.
--Lots of activities with tennis court. Lots of places to go isolate if that's your jam
--Great communication from owner
--very reasonable pontoon rental rate
Cons:
--I found the mattress in the "southwestern" decorated room very uncomfortable (possibly personal preference)
--The house is noisy, you can hear through walls/doors/floor pretty easily
--Fishing wasn't good (not fault of owners)
--Lake is unusually shallow and weed growth was excessive (not fault of owners)
--Can't really swim off/around the dock, needed to go out in the pontoon
In short, things that the owners had control of were exceptional. We had a great time, and appreciate your home being opened up to our family.

Loved the pontoon. The sand area was great.
Lots of things to do. Great for families

I had my bachelorette party here and there were 17 of us and fit us all SO comfortably. Like there was soooo much sleeping space and just hanging out space!!! The yard is incredible and so is the beach. I couldn’t have asked for a better place. Kari was helpful and awesome for anything we needed. Perfect home and very close to night life too!

We knew we'd pick the right place for our vacation when we drove down the long, wooded driveway to arrive at Red Sand Retreat. It offered comfortable, clean accommodations, in a very peaceful, private and serene setting. Our three grandsons particularly enjoyed being able to spend time on the pontoon boat.
Kari is an excellent host.

Bedroom on the top floor had a tall ladder to climb up into it. NOT suitable entry for adults. Thus we were short one bedroom for our married children, Apartment unit over garage had a musty and strong gasoline odor from the equipment stored beneath.
We enjoyed the hot tub! Normally not available during summer, but available for our stay.- We used daily.
Master Bedroom suite was excellent. The 2 queen bed mattresses are worn out and need replacing.
4.8
Amazing lake front property in Brainerd. Neighbors are far away, nice and private. Lots of stuff to do in the house. Great communication with the host.
4.8
The property was absolutely beautiful and look just like the pictures. There was so much space and activities to do! They even left us smores! We will definitely be back again.
4.8
We stayed for a weekend and had a wonderful time! Kari was a great host and was available for questions if we had any. Great place for families because there are a lot of things the property has to offer.

The owners of this home were awesome! They worked with me through the booking process and were available throughout our entire stay, checking to make sure everything went well with checking in and out! The home itself, was just amazing! Rustic feel with top line everything else. We were on this beautiful lake and close to our purpose, which was to play golf!!! I highly recommend using this getaway!!!

Kari's property was nothing short of spectacular. We were comfortable throughout our entire stay, enjoyed the amenities and had plenty of space for parking and to spread out with a double digit group. Kari's communication was excellent and prompt, always being available if we needed something.
Can't wait to book with her again. 10/10 would recommend!

Our group of 10 had a great time at this property! Only thing to note is that a few of the beds are only accessible by ladder, but besides that the home was as-advertised. Communication with our host was simple and we all had a great stay!
4.8
We had a great time! Thanks for letting us experience this lovely home. Lots of winter activities close by and would love to return in the summer!
4.8
We had a group of 10 come up for a friends wedding and the space was perfect. Everyone had a bed, there was plenty of room/bathroom space to get ready, and the hot tub was an added bonus for the close to a lovely fall night. Would recommend and stay again!

This was a great place to rent for our golf trip. The house had plenty of room and was clean on arrival. The hot tub was a plus also.
Thanks again for the great stay!

Pros: Adorable house! We had 4 families, & there was plenty of space for everyone. The kids enjoyed the bunk room/loft. Loved the deck sitting area, & being so close to the water to watch the kids play/fish off the dock. Shallow lake, perfect for the kids to go farther out to swim! Kitchen was fully stocked with just about anything you could need. Game room was great for the kids, especially at night once the bugs came out. Tennis court was fun, & the shed is fully stocked with bikes, beach toys, tennis rackets, etc. Ample supply of firewood. Very quiet lake, we saw two boats the whole time. Use of canoes, paddle boat, kayak & paddle board. Great big yard, which was perfect for our family relay races!
Cons: uncomfortable beds. Loft/bunk room get very very hot. cobwebs all over inside the house. no lock on master bedroom, or a door on master bath, so kids would just walk right in while you're doing your business. Garage apartment smelled very musty. Not good for swimming right off the dock, very mucky bottom. There is a hot tub, but the listing does not state that they only allow use of it during fall/winter months, so we were disappointed to not get to use it. They do allow pets, which was great to bring our 3 dogs, but the listing does not state the proper pet fee...we found out a week before our trip that it's actually a per pet, per day charge; not just one flat fee per pet, which is how the listing shows it. One issue with an elderly neighboring complaining we were loud after midnight one evening - we were in the garage, with the garage doors closed, doing lip sync battles with our kids...the music was off before midnight, & everyone was in bed by midnight that night, so that was odd/annoying. Also had a neighbor dog keep wandering onto the property & laying under our cars, which almost got ran over because we didn't know he was there the 1st time.

This was the perfect getaway for our three-generation family. We stayed put the whole time, enjoying time together on the beach and in the water. Kari was exceptionally responsive and welcoming. Note that one bedroom and one bunk bed in another room are accessible by tall ladders only.
4.8
The house was just what we wanted, the lake was full of fish. We fished every day and our grandkids loved the catching. The lake is not crowded at all. That made it very enjoyable.
4.8
We had a lovely stay with my parents, siblings and their families. The 8 kids (ranging in age from 12 years to 10 months) loved playing in the beach area. The paddle boat, kayak and paddle board were all big hits, constantly in use. The kids enjoyed the loft area although it was a bit warm and stuffy on the third level at night. The table tennis and foosball tables were also big hits. We had a couple of campfires and spent many hours enjoying being together inside and out. Our family has a hard time finding large chunks of time where we can all be together and this was a great week of memory making that we will treasure.
4.8
The house was clean, comfortable and had every essential we could imagine needing. The shed was stocked full of toys for the kids and they loved it. Our family really enjoyed our time up north at this resort!

He rented in May for the last week of July, we received confirmation for a Saturday July 23 to Sunday July 30 reservation, on 16 July we received a notice that our reservation did not start until Sunday afternoon. I have family coming into the area starting on Friday evening and we had planned to get together Saturday evening at the rental and to have our big get together on Sunday. I try to sort healthy reservation was told that the reservation had been changed by the owner and she only rented Sunday to Sunday in spite of my original contract. I had $3000 in extra bookings for places for it to stay around to get together on Saturday and Sunday since we could not check in until 4 PM Sunday. Part of our group left in mid week and all of us were out by Friday afternoon. It was a very disappointing booking because of the date issues. In initial booking there was also no notice that the property is unsuitable for disabled guests. Are use a wheelchair and can use crutches for
Short distances on level ground, I had difficulty getting into the building and getting out of the building, as a result I did it to make other sleeping arrangements throughout our stay for safety. A note about inappropriate for renters with disabilities would’ve been very helpful. The property was in good condition and part of my family enjoyed it but there was a lot of frustration over the changes and dates, necessary additional costs and the fact that we were not aware it was not accessible for someone who is handicapped. I did not find any negotiating power with these issues and because of that would recommend rental with caution. Push to get your rental contract earlier so that you can confirm your dates and do not rent if you have anyone in your group who is handicapped.

Absolutely alone, but within 5 minutes of anything we needed. If you like the quiet and hearing loon calls, this is the place. In seven days, we heard only one jet ski and one speed boat. While we chose not to bring ours, this property is one of few that allows dogs. The kitchen is very well equipped. 😃

We had such a great stay here! A girls weekend away filled with games, food, and time on the lake! The hosts were very communicative and accommodating. We made use of the pontoon boat and had an absolute blast! Definitely recommend!
4.8
Loved the privacy of this property. It had all the "toys" you would need for activities. The only draw back was the WiFi wasn't the greatest. Would certainly recommend this property.
4.8
Spent a weekend here for a bachelorette party and had a wonderful time! Great space outside for yard games, lounging and relaxing! We tried to rent the pontoon but unfortunately our rental was canceled a few days before due to the dock not being put in yet. We were bummed but ended up still having a great time!

This property was awesome and was a perfect fit for our group of golfers. It fit all 16 of us easily. Kari was amazing and replied immediately if I had a question. I would recommend this place 10/10, especially if you’re looking for a quiet, private property.

Beautiful home on the lake!! Kari was very easy to communicate with. We loved every second there.
