A Cozy Retreat
This is our 2nd visit to Doler Cottage. It is ideal for a low key, relaxing vacation.

Beautiful view and wonderful location. The furniture is all very old, which was fine with us, with exception of the bed situation. The beds are absolutely terrible!! They are old and worn out. It’s time for the owners to replace the beds!

When arriving at Doler Cottage, you are immediately greeted by tall pines, leafy greens, and hints of glimmery water below. The moment you step foot on the property, a sense of relaxation and calm engulfs your entire being.
The inside of the cottage is pure 70's gold with just the right amount of modern amenities. The floor plan is cozy yet open, with large west-facing windows towards the lake. The cottage is clean, the kitchen has everything you need, the dining/living room has plenty of seats, the bathroom is updated, and the beds are moderately comfortable (bring your pillow, but you'll pass out the moment you close your eyes).
Folks, you're at the lake to be outside. The screen porch has ample room for all types of hangs, views of the ever-changing scenery, the sunset, and a gorgeous sycamore tree.
The dock is several steps down, tucked into a mini cove which is perfect for swimming galore and your water toy/s of choice. Across the way sits an untouched forest that gives you glimpses of seclusion. Yes, there are neighbors, but they are long-time residents and very kind if you get the chance to meet them.
Okay, okay, I love this place and hope you do too! I'll be back.

The view of the lake was awesome, the house was like going back in time to Archie Bunkers, the furniture was uncomfortable. There was construction going on next door, beating and banging the whole time, The Realtor offered no reprieve. They don't pay for trash service and expect you to haul off trash in your car 2-3 miles away. There is a house being built nearby, and plans for huge condos to be built soon. The dock is great, but was closer to the neighbors than we thought. The cleaning fee is outrageous. The front doorknob barely works. The internet has a speed of 2 Mbps, The Direct TV works fine unless it's raining. The kitchen is adequate, but no dishwasher. There are floats and things around but no kayak or anything, no air compressor to blow up things. The lake and town are awesome, though, rented a pontoon boat.
I will look elsewhere next time.

Great views. Nice quaint place. As a businessman I needed internet which was not available as long as the TV was on(strange I know). I would rather not choose. Since idisnt have cell service (and you wont with ATT) this greatly diminished the experience.

Doler Cottage was the perfect lakeside getaway. This vintage cottage has a spectacular lake view. We had a lot of rain while we were there, but the large screened porch allowed us to still enjoy the view and be “outside.” We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful!!
We wanted a nice quiet nature getaway. We were not disappointed!! This house and the whole experience was perfect for us. We were far enough away from the commercialized areas but close enough to to all the places we wanted to go. The house was very clean and accommodating and the view was breathtaking. At times it felt as though we had the lake all to ourselves. We will be back!!

Doler Cottage Stay
Beautiful view from great deck and porch. Cabin was dated but we knew that going in. The listing initially said 2 baths but it has only 1. Communicating with owner via VRBO app messaging was not always great. But phone number was provided and that was fine. Overall was great and we’ll be back. It would be nice to have a canoe and/kayaks on property as put in and take out is difficult from steep property. But there is put in close by (20 min paddle).

Our family spent week of July 4 at the Doler Cottage for fourth year. The home is comfy and private up in the trees with nice shade over an open deck. Lakefront dock is grand. Best lake ever for water activities! We’ll be back.

We had a wonderful week in the Doler cottage. It was exactly as advertised.
The view from the house is glorious. We spent hours on the screened in porch, looking across the lake at the Joyce Kilmer National Forest. The lake is perfect for swimming and kayaking. The kitchen was fully equipped. We hope to return.

Simply nice place for relaxing fun!
Our third year spending July 4th week on Lake Santeetlah at the Doler Cottage. And it was sooooo nice to be in the water, on the porch, in the house (just for t-storms and sleep) along with hiking, bicycling, walking, running, fishing, and whatever else we could fit in. Don't hesitate to book your stay here if the size is right and dates are open!

Cute cabin and great location
We had a great weekend on the lake. The cottage was comfortable and was on an amazing section of the lake with beautiful views. We loved our stay and would rent here again.

Amazing view!
We had a wonderful time at the Doler cottage! We spent almost all our time on the huge screened in porch directly over the water, and kayaked/swam from the dock. The furnishings are dated but comfortable and fine. We’d love to come back.

Amazing Views
I took the family for an impromptu trip and we just loved this place. From the first step in the doors, it's hard not to notice the lake view. We spent most of our time either on the dock or the deck and barely set foot in the house. The house itself is dated but functional and easily handled any need we had. The lake is clear and it was so quiet that we caught ourselves whispering like we were in a library! Thanks for letting us stay!

Very nice place!
Our 'mom, dad, grown daughter' family rented this same cozy cottage last year and loved it so we did it again. This home is just the ticket for a relaxing time on the lake. It is clean and comfortable with excellent amenities. We decided to bring a "Rapid Shelter" this year to give us more shade on the dock since it is south facing. Worked great. Otherwise the screened porch and the shaded deck are super. I highly recommend this property for a small group...but hope it doesn't get so popular that we won't be able to rent it again next year!!

We loved our stay!
The view is amazing from this house! We loved the dock on the lake, and spent many hours swimming and canoeing on it.
The interior of the house is true to the pictures, but being right on the lake made this trip!
We will be back!
