This is our third year to stay at this location -- we book it as a meeting spot between our friends in Austin and my husband and I in Fort Worth. We love the space of the house, the VHS tape collection, and the pool. We will continue to book this place every summer -- and potentially even more once UT starts to play A&M again!

We stay at many VRBOs, and we like interesting architecture, which this house had. This place was very roomy. We stayed here for a wedding, and because many of us are aggies, we didn't cook in the house much, but instead wanted to eat at places we ate at while in school. The pool was nice, and the kids had fun in it.

I booked this for a wedding. The wedding was Friday night. So we used this place for Thursday night stay for family and future family coming in from all parts of the world. Had this fantastic house till Sunday morning since we had to clean up venue Saturday morning. Plenty of parking since this place is in the country. Nice to be near restaurants in Snook, TX to get away from College Station Liberal Arts professors. This house is a 70s time capsule. Large collection of different country art. Fenced in pool to make sure little ones are safe. Wonderful host. Plenty of kitchen, bar, towels, bedding, and needs you didn't know you needed everywhere in this house. 70s/80s toys you didn't bring for the little ones. Biggest VHS collection I haven't seen in years while watching younger ones not knowing how to put them into player. Books and magazine collections if you want quiet time including National Geographic magazines from the early 60s forward.

This place was the perfect location to celebrate my husband’s birthday with our friends from DFW and Austin. The pool is big, tons of extra space for large groups (extra refrigerator, extra pool towels, extra air mattresses, etc.) Our group even took advantage of the great VHS collection and had a movie night. Helen, the host, was super communicative and all of the guidelines and instructions were easy to follow. Not only will we be renting Thai location again, several of our friends have tagged it as well as a great and super viable location for large groups.

We had a wonderful stay at the Myrtle Estate. The owners were very helpful and worked hard to make sure we enjoyed our stay. We loved the convenience of a half bath by the pool! The kitchen had everything needed to serve large groups.

Lovely country setting, could be cleaner

Overall, 4 families (15 total people) stayed here and had a great time. The layout of the place is fantastic and there is lots of space, a basketball hoop, and a pool. The pool was not clean, which was our biggest problem as we didn't feel comfortable spending much time in it. Being summer, having a good pool was one of our primary criteria. We had a live scorpion visit the house too, which caused quite a scare. The host was very nice and understood the issues we ran into. Had we communicated the cleanliness of the pool and soon as we saw it, she might have been able to handle it.

Owner is awesome. Had a minor plumbing issue with a tub fixture and she had the plumber there within the hour. Pool was a nice size and the water was crystal clean. Retro home that took me back to memories from the seventies. If I have any constructive criticism it is that the living could use some extra lighting. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others

Perfect for a weekend getaway

We needed the perfect spot with a private pool in between Austin and Houston and this ended up being perfect for our family. Plenty of space for the kids to watch a movie while the adults played card games in the great room. The kitchen and pool were well stocked and Helen was easy to communicate with. The Atrium was beautiful and such a nice place to end the evening. All in all we loved it. Thanks Helen!

We rented this property so extended family could stay in one place to celebrate our Aggie getting her ring. This house is so retro cool! It's like a 70's time capsule and we absolutely loved it! Very spacious with plenty of room to entertain. The pool was fabulous and kept adults and kids alike entertained all day. Any questions we had during our stay were answered quickly through text messaging. Being an older home, there are some minor cosmetic issues, but they did not detract from our stay. We had a great weekend and would definitely consider staying at this property again!

The photos don't do this place justice! Large rooms for socializing, eating and sleeping. Great pool area! Beautiful country setting. Comfortable beds. Great bath and bed linens. Only thing missing or that could be better was the Internet and cell phone connections, but that is to be expected in a country environment. Very easy access to the TAMU campus and stadium. Great place for a large group or even to host a celebratory gathering. We had our son's graduation party here when we rented. It never seemed even a little crowded.

This is the perfect house for a group of friends that are not related, offering private areas for everyone. My running friends and I were in town to participate in the Bryan/College Station Marathon so we needed our own space on Saturday while we rested and prepared to run. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare all our meals. The atrium was beautiful and the water fall provided calming "white" noise while relaxing.

This was the perfect home for our family. We planned on attending our son's Corps of Cadet Fish Review and had some last minute supporters of uncles, aunties and cousins that decided to tag along so we wanted a place where we could all stay with our "Fish" when he was released. Helen was most accommodating on a short week's notice and the home was exactly as promised, stocked with all that we needed. Extra pillows, linen, towels, condiments, laundry detergent, silverware, pots and pans, you name it. She even went the extra mile to overnight me the keys, and when it wasn't delivered by the USPS within a day, she made some calls to ensure it was delivered before our departure. It comfortably fit everyone with even more room to spare. We enjoyed a wonderful BBQ with the provided gas grill and swam late into the evening in the well kept pool. The location was perfect, quiet, and less than 10 minutes from every place we needed to go, the A&M campus, A&M Consolidated High School, even Wal-Mart. I would highly recommend this home to anyone needing a large home for a large family, and will definitely stay here again should we have the full entourage again!! Thank you for helping to make this a most memorable weekend in College Station.

Excellent location outside the craziness of traffic during large events at the university. Easy to get to. Loved being away from neighbors so we didn't have to worry about the kids yelling and playing. Pool provided great diversion for kids. Nice covered "cabana" for adults during light rain. Large house provided plenty of space for everybody. Needed nothing - it was all there. Best appointed property I have every stayed in. Will definitely return should I have the opportunity. My nephew graduated so??? Owners extremely easy to work with. Highly recommend. Really neat house with cool history.

This was exactly what we needed for a memorable Aggie graduation weekend. Everything was clean and ready for us, both owner & manager a delight to work with. Because it is a little bit out of town it's very quiet, but still only a few minutes to campus. Kudos from all of our out of town guests. Hope to be able to stay again!!

Can't say enough good things about staying here. We had about 16 people that stayed for the weekend and 100 for the get together on Saturday. It was spacious, parking was sufficient, and the pool was appreciated. We had kids asleep in the back of the house, and we couldn't hear a peep of the 100 people on the other side of the house. The location was outstanding and the people whoa age it even more so. We were having issues with the wifi the first night. A quick text to the owner and later that night they drove from Houston to troubleshoot it until the wifi was fixed.

Great rental home for family get togethers

We just rented Myrtle Estate for my son's spring graduation from Texas A&M and we could not have been more pleased. I have a large family that includes 3 generations that attended the graduation ceremony and we all comfortably stayed the weekend at this home. The house is huge with several large living areas including a great atrium in the middle of the house. There was plenty of room for the kids to watch TV in the den while the adults were able to visit in the living room. The pool was great and we enjoyed the privacy that the property afforded us. My other son will graduate in 3 years and we plan to rent Myrtle Estate at that time as well. This is a great rental for family reunions or group weekend trips to the Bryan/College Station area. I'm sure it would be great for Aggie football game weekends. Thanks Helen (and Leigh) for making our graduation weekend very memorable.

My family rented this house for my graduate school graduation weekend. All I can say is wow! The pictures online do not do it justice! The pool is well kept and a really good size. The house is retro-tastic, very well kept and very comfortable. The owners are so easy to work with. The house is outside of town, surrounded by trees and land, it is seriously the perfect place to relax. There is a beautiful courtyard in the middle of the house that really adds charm. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would highly recommend this rental house.
