About this house rental
This three bedroom row house was built in the early 1900’s, but has been fully renovated and equipped with solar power. With all modern conveniences, you can relax at home or head out the see the sights. The Metro is just a block away! A brand new Safeway is one block away. The U.S. Capitol is 14 blocks away––you can walk, jump on a bus, Uber/Lyft, or take the Metro. It also has its own garage, a rarity on Capitol Hill. Step out the door and the city awaits, and after a long day of exploring, relax in your new home-away-from-home. It is the perfect house for your city explorations!
The owner (and her partner) live in the basement of the house. Access to the downstairs living quarters is in the back yard so you may see them coming and going from time to time, but there is no direct connection between upstairs and downstairs. Nor do the downstairs residents use any of the amenities in the main house, so the rental is completely private.

My husband and I hosted my niece and her family for a week at this house. It was perfect. A quiet neighborhood with close both the metro and a Safeway grocery store within a block. The house was just as described with a wonderful welcome book filled with great information. Alec was very responsive from beginning to end. We would definitely stay here again.

The space was ideal for our group. It was comfortable and well laid out for the 6 of us. The property manager was helpful and prompt when we reached out. The area has a lot of amenities and is easily accessible to the metro.
definitely a great find!

Pictures were taken awhile back. A centipede was on the stairs. Good size one. A package was stolen from the front door. Mold was caulked over in the shower. The best thing about the place was the location.

Six septuagenarian sibling/spouses stayed here. Enjoyed the house, the backyard and the proximity to museums and mall. Check in and out were a breeze. Only caveat or caution would be to note that stairs in this age house are steep if anyone in your party has mobility issues.

We had a very comfortable stay! The beds were very comfy, check-in easy, washer and dryer, great communication. The metro stop just down the way and Safeway very close.

Three friends visiting the sights in DC, and we had a wonderful time. The house was perfect…spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, updated bathrooms, and spacious kitchen. After exhausting days of walking, we enjoyed cocktails on the patio, having been to the very close Safeway that had everything we could possibly need.
Our host was very communicative and accommodating. Definitely a 5 star!

The house was well appointed, in a great neighborhood and the proximity to the Metro was great! We basically slept and ate breakfast there but it worked great for our family of 4. Close to the sites. The Eastern Market was nearby and a great place to eat. Would stay here again if we went back to DC.

My sisters and I met to celebrate their two big birthdays in January. We chose this location as it had 3 bedrooms and a garage. The home was perfect for our needs, well appointed kitchen, very comfortable beds, two full bathrooms and easy access to the Metro. We enjoyed two wonderful restaurants within walking distance of the home. Catching an Uber was a breeze. The location is in a quiet neighborhood yet only 9 blocks from the Capital. The home owner provided a very thorough welcome book which was very helpful. We highly recommend it.

This was a fabulous VRBO for our party of seven (two adults, one teen, and four elementary-age kids). Our only hiccup was that the blow up mattress didn't seem to be functioning, but the property manager was responsive and helpful, and we quickly found a solution. If I'm being nitpicky, I could say they could use a few more spoons (but spoons wander from many houses). Otherwise, the house was clean, warm, welcoming, functional, and had everything we needed. Will definitely try to rent this place again if we ever return to DC.

Location and house were great. One block to a Safeway and one block to the Metro. Only issue was a car illegally packed in alley making it difficult to get out. Not the owner's fault. great weather and easy to get around. Nice neighborhood. Easy to work with owner.

Our family stayed here for our summer trip. The location is great and convenient to the metro and bus. Quick walk to Barracks Row was also nice.

We loved this property and would stay there again. Very quaint and clean. Comfortable beds. It was so handy to do a load of laundry midway. We also appreciated how easily we could get to all the local attractions. And the grocery store one block away was a nice bonus! Our only constructive feedback is that there weren’t enough of the basic household necessities. In particular, there were no spare garbage bags, the dish soap was almost gone, and we were on our last roll of toilet paper the morning we departed. These were small issues but worth noting.

Considering how expensive hotel rooms are in DC, this house is a great value and super convenient. I'd stay here again in a minute.
There were 7 of us staying in the house for 3 nights...my wife, our adult daughter and her husband and 3 grandchildren - aged 10 - 12. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths -- so it was a bit tight with 7. One grandchild slept on the down stairs sofa.
The location is awesome. It is about a 3 minute walk to the Potomac Ave Metro - which is on 3 main lines. In fact, we flew into Dulles (which the silver line now runs to) and it was a super convenient and cheap way to get into the city. Didn't even need to change trains.
There are great restaurants nearby. The Mexican place on Pennsylvania Ave is very good. The Roost is unique. It's like a relatively small, high end, trendy food court with about 5-6 food options. Go the other way (north) one block and there is a beautiful new Safeway.
All in all a great place to stay. My one minor complaint would be that the house is old and the stairs and upstairs hallway creak! I was afraid I'd wake someone up -- although I don't think I did.

Wonderful home in DC close to downtown area. Really had everything one could need. We enjoyed coming back from a busy day and having the space to lounge a little. The garage is a great addition to ensure parking but definitely takes a little skill getting in and out. Would definitely recommend this home.

Location was perfect, Metro was a short walk and an easy ride to all the sites we wanted to see. Plus convenient groceries and eateries. The house was comfortable and gave us the feel of living in a big city. Thanks for allowing us to stay.

My family of four came to DC for part of my kids' fall break. The property is in a great location with a Safeway and Metro stop super close. Great restaurants located one Metro stop away (Eastern Market). We loved Ted's Bulletin! Also enjoyed lunch/brunch at Tunnicliff's Tavern and Mr. Henry's Restaurant. We took the Metro, Uber, and walked from the Supreme Court to the White House to the Lincoln Memorial and everything in between. Again, the place was perfect for what we needed. It was safe, it was clean, and we had a blast. I'm sure your family will as well!!

Great location for our 5 friend gathering. Just enough comfortable space. Close to stores + restaurants. Ubered our way to all our favorite sites.

Great space, great location
Our family had a great experience and really appreciated the location. So close to the metro, grocery store, and restaurants. There was plenty of space for our family and we appreciated the washer and dryer. Huge shoutout to Darwin, the basement tenant/handyman that picked up basics for us that weren’t stocked. We appreciated his attentiveness! Alec, the property manager was easy to communicate with and we would happily stay again.

A Comfortable Stay at a Well Appointed Townhome
Our family of 5 adults took an impromptu trip to DC for Christmas instead of traveling abroad due to COVID concerns. The townhome was perfect for us. Crazy close to the Potomac Ave. Metro with so many nice touches included! The Safeway grocery rewards card, a well stocked kitchen with coffee, tea, pantry items, some refrigerated treats and bathroom staples and washer/dryer made for an enjoyable stay. The house was clean and met our needs perfectly.

This Location Is Ahhh-Mazing!
We are a family of 5 and we loved this home. One block from the Potomac Metro station, two blocks from great restaurants and breakfast takeout. Not walking distance to the National Mall (unless you really need your steps) - but a quick $15 Uber ride for all 5 of us was not a bad deal.
We did not cook, but there is a fully equipped kitchen and lots of kid-friendly items. There were plenty of blankets and pillows and three comfy beds upstairs. Owner even provides shampoo and conditioner - nice touch! Abundance of comfy seating downstairs. We loved this home and highly recommend it! Would definitely stay here again!

Peace amid the Bustle
This Capitol Hill row house is on a very quiet neighborhood street, but also conveniently located not far from the Capitol. It’s spotlessly clean and very well appointed. The owner and manager were friendly and very accommodating. For us the only down side was the street lights while sleeping (we’re country mice and used to dark!)
