We enjoyed the historic home for a family reunion. The property has a beautiful view. Well appointed and great communication with the host. Perfect for our weekend getaway.

The property was beautiful. Large rolling green hills with a lot of room for the dogs to run. Plenty of amenities and even propane for the grill! We loved our stay. We look forward to returning at some point in the near future.

This is a great rental! Exactly as described and pictured. Clean, comfortable and perfect if you are traveling with dogs. Great big yard at the end of a dead end street with zero traffic. Would rent again without question!

Only issue was had to go through host to control heat. As a guest I feel the heat should be controlled by the person staying there. The house was beautiful and big, could’ve had another family stay with us. Very clean. Views were gorgeous! Close to town.

Annual Mini-Vacation
Two Grandmothers with their respective Granddaughters go on an annual "Mini-Vacation". We chose to be a bit more rural this year and found this delightful home. Not only was it spotless and the location private, quiet and picturesque, it exceeded all of our expectations. There were 6 of us in total, and there was plenty of room to spread out. In the basement, the pingpong table was a total hit and rousing games were had. The basement is decorated and has everything you need for fun activities of all ages (not to mention washer & dryer, sink). The house itself was not only clean and decorated with such charm, the attention to detail and the little "extras" everywhere gave us a feeling of happiness. It is obvious that a lot of love has gone into the care and preservation of this home. We spent a lot of time on the porch, as well. It was still cold (upper 30's and 40's) while we were there, but those beautiful porch windows kept the wind out and the sun warmed it up just right. Many board games were played out there in the sun. That screened in gazebo did beckon us, but the wind and temp's while there kept us from enjoying that. Overall, everything you need is there - and again, it is spotlessly clean. We thank Joe and Christine for sharing their wonderful home with us. It was totally above and beyond what we expected. Thank you!

Great location for all
Property was as promised. Great location and charming decor. We loved that we were close to everything yet situated back off the busier street. Joe was very helpful and responsive to our questions. We highly recommend making this property a 'must-stay' when planning a shopping/hiking/snowmobiling/skiing vacation or anything else in the beautiful Maine/New Hampshire area.

Charming vintage house
What a charming vintage house! The rooms are large. Plenty of space. The owners tried to keep the 1939 theme. Beautiful hardwood floors with gorgeous area rugs.
The master bedroom has a large sitting area with a king bed that is very comfortable.
The grounds are very well kept. Lots of privacy .
Enjoyed drinking tea in the early morning in the dining room, watching all the different birds(please bring birdseed!) The flower garden in the back is beautiful.
Joe was always in contact with us if we needed to ask him anything.
If you have young children, this house has plenty of toys and games for them.
Plenty of hiking trails near.
Spent all afternoons in the beautiful mountains.
Thank you Joe and Christine for a wonderful stay. Know where to come back next time we visit Maine.

Perfect Setting
This was what we were looking for - a quiet place after the wedding festivities.
One suggestion - please leave your guests blankets. It was very cold, I had to sleep in my bathrobe and slippers to stay warm both nights. There was only a sheet and coverlet on the bed. Checked the closet for blankets - only one balled up - didn't dare use due to covid.
Otherwise - it was a very comfortable stay.

Amazing Property
We come up to the North Conway area every year with our children. Last year we tubed the Saco and ended up at Westons Beach and fell in love with the area. We decided to search Fryeburg for our following year vacation and I'm so happy we did. This house is perfect for a family with children. My kids loved all the toys, the ping pong table and all the movies and books that were available for them. This house is 10 minutes to North Conway and walking distance to the beach, farm stand and great food. We will definitely be back next year!

great house in a perfect location
This is a big house with a big yard, so you feel like you are in a private setting even though you are in the middle of Fryeburg. We particularly enjoyed the gazebo during summer evenings. Joe is a great host and was very responsive.

Great Stay at Mountain Haven
We had a wonderful 5-night stay. 7 people in all from 4 generations ranging from age 3 to 81 and we all had a great time. The property was as advertised, fully stocked, and many extras for my 3 year old grandson to keep him happy and occupied.

Perfect location!
Although the house really needs additional fans in the LR and porch, and some painting in certain areas, overall the experience was wonderful. A 5 minute walk to the beach, screened in gazebo for evening dining, and a beautiful view of the farm next door and mountains in the distance make for a most pleasant experience.

Delightful stay in Fryeburg, Maine
We just returned from a delightful week stay at this Maine home. The listing description was accurate. We had plenty of room (could have easily worked with the 7 maximum people as well) with plenty to spare for 4 adults. It would also be a great vacation home for a family with children. The entire house was exceptionally clean and it was very convenient to have linens and towels provided for our stay. There is a beautiful view of Maine farmland from the back of the home. We spent alot of time outdoors at lakes, mountains and the nearby North Conway village. The Saco River is a great river (right around the corner) for cooling off or floating around in a raft. We bought foods from both Westons and Sherman's (nearby farms). The home owners were easy and pleasant to deal with throughout the rental process. If you are looking for a good sized home centrally located to a variety of activities in Maine and New Hampshire, this house is for you!

Enjoyable stay in Fryeburg vintage home
We found everything we needed and more in this amazingly well-stocked and comfortable vintage home as we explored this part of ME and NH. Took advantage of the pleasant porch in spite of the high temperatures and lack of breeze the week we stayed. The two fans we found were also helpful with that, and the bedroom A/C was a blessing at night and when we needed to cool down for a bit after being out and about. Appreciated being able to park in the garage to keep our car out of the hot sun. Perfect home for simple pleasures, too, like watching the birds at the feeder and listening to their songs in the evenings while looking over the backyard and into the field. Had plenty of fresh fruit and veg from nearby Weston’s Farm store. We were lucky to see a nearby town’s 4th of July fireworks through the dining room window, too. Joe, thanks again for your restaurant recommendations, and the other suggestions you gave us - and for checking in to be sure all was well. Bay Haven Lobster was worth the short 30 min drive. Thanks again.

Fryeburg Getaway
We enjoyed the porch and gazebo very much! The property was very spacious and well stocked. We found the living room a little dark. The place could have been cleaner and the place had a musty smell. I don’t think I would rent the property again.

Wonderful Winter Stay!
Our family had the pleasure of making this lovely property our “home away from home” for ski race season. Super clean with comfy beds, lots of room to spread out, and all the amenities you could want. Our boys loved the ping pong table, and we had many great dinners and card games around the beautiful dining table. Joe and Christine are super attentive and easy to communicate with! We will definitely be back!

LOVED THIS RENTAL!
This was a wonderful place to stay while in Fryeburg. It is in a beautiful setting, close to town, and the home included all the amenities necessary to make a week away from home seem so much like home. It was very clean and the owners were very communicative and helpful. I'd highly recommend this rental property.

Charming home, lovely setting
Mountain Haven is a charming, roomy home lacking nothing. Kitchen is fully equipped and beautiful 3 season porch perfect for breakfast and coffee. You can sit outside in the screened in gazebo....no bugs!
Walk over to Weston’s farm stand (get a pie) and swim in the Saco River. Lots of privacy with master suite downstairs. One suggestion: for those of us who are technically challenged, written instructions for TV and heat would be helpful.

Great family rental in Fryeburg!
We enjoyed this property because of the space & privacy it afforded us. The large yard & gazebo allowed us to host friends & family. Joe was easy to work with & promptly addressed any questions or issues we had. We enjoyed the use of the grill & porch area for relaxing. We would definately rent this property again & refer friends & family.

Wonderful for family looking for both fun and quietness
My family with 3 kids (aged 4-9) had a wonderful time in Joe and Christine lovely house. The owners are very responsive. Christine kindly left a number of notes, which made it much easier for us to find things.
The house is clean, nicely decorated and provides everything we needed, including kid toys and many movies. We also enjoy playing pingpang in the basement.
The ride to storyland is about 25 minutes. We did not take 302. Instead, we went to E. Conway road, which run through the mountains with a lot of ups and downs. My son was very excited. We hope to come back again and stay longer.

Charming and cozy spaces against an incredible view...the outdoor gazebo is a huge bonus!
This was our third year to visit the Mountain Haven and we keep coming back because it so beautifully encompasses everything we love about the Maine and NH areas. A charming and cozy home filled character against a backdrop of amazing mountain views. We had sightings of both a deer and a bear this year, lots of time at the local beach and multiple visits to the baby goats at Sherman farms just down the road. The North Conway area offers so much of what we love to do, most of all hiking. This year we visited Willard mountain,Ripley falls and Jackson falls. Can’t wait until next year!

Perfect "home base" for our extended weekend
The house was very comfortable, with plenty of space to "hang out" - we particularly enjoyed coffee in the screened gazebo and pre-dinner relaxing on the three-season porch.
Joe was very helpful leading up to our stay in setting our expectations. I assume he would have been responsive to any issues we faced, but we had no problems.
We'll definitely look into staying here again next time we're in the area!

Lovely property, spacious home, anything you would need is provided.
We enjoyed our stay at Mountain Haven. It is so nice to have space to move around, rather than a cramped hotel room. Anything you might need is provided in the home. The place was very clean and the owners very accommodating. Mountain Haven is conveniently located, there is a farm stand nearby and river access just down the road.
We will definitely return to Maine and Mountain Haven!

not clean
Arrived late at night and most of the lights entering the house were burnt out so we struggled to make our way in. I phoned the owner the next morning to complain about lights and a dirty fireplace that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months, he told me where to find the light bulbs and where to find the bucket to clean the fireplace. After speaking to him we noticed none of the sheets on the bed were clean so had to wash all the sheets from the 3 bedrooms. I phoned him a few days later asking him to refund the cleaning fee but he said I should have phoned him upon check in (at midnight?). We were there for a wedding and very busy with 3 days of events. Upon the rest of our guests arriving over the next 24 hours we discovered even more concerning cleanliness issues. Very disappointed, cannot recommend for cleanliness and the poor response from the owner.
