The Perfect holiday and wonderful location for families who want to use the fishing lakes and nearby
The Perfect holiday and wonderful location for families who want to use the fishing lakes and nearby beaches and places of interest.
The only small suggestion would be to get a WIFI extender as I planned to work but unfortunately the WIFI signal was far to weak for my chromebook lap to work at all. Which was quite frustrating.
It may already explain this in the details, so sorry if I've missed this. But if not I would consider making this clear. Thank you.

The down points about our stay were not about the owners.
The down points about our stay were not about the owners... bad WiFi and bats.... the property itself was super clean, fully equipped and had the most beautiful grounds. Ourselves and our dog absolutely loved it .....we have already booked for next year.

Clean and well sized cottage.
Clean and well sized cottage. Easy driving distance from some of the best beaches in the area and some dramatic scenery. Although you are quite close to a major road, the cottages have a feeling of remoteness. Even if you are not interested in fishing, the lakes on site would make a very nice evening walk. The owners, who live on site, are very friendly and attentive.

We had a lovely week at the lodge despite awful weather.
We had a lovely week at the lodge despite awful weather. Great facilities for dog owners like us, lovely walk around the fishing lodges, great enclosed garden and a private field for them to have a run. The cottage was spotlessly clean, and generally well equipped and comfortable for an afternoon indoors when the rain got too much. The payment cards for electricity and heating are a bit of a faff, and I would suggest more crockery to avoid having to put on a half empty dishwasher. Some basic cleaning materials would be good and it's the only time in recent years were there was absolutely no welcome pack, not even a pint of milk. The double bed wasn't particularly comfortable and the pillows a bit tired. However, none of this would stop us booking this cottage again if we were to return to north Devon and can understand why people seem to return again and again.

Nice location although there is some traffic noise from the A361.
Nice location although there is some traffic noise from the A361. The overall presentation of the property was good but the double bed was very uncomfortable and the microwave was in a very poor condition. We did like the private garden for our dog and the walks around the lakes.

The Lodge is set in a beautiful location with excellent walks around the fishing lakes ,sadly the tv and w/f has little or no reception which is a pain if you are watching a programme and the screen goes blank quite a lot especially during the day .comfort wise it has everything you want for a stay ,Mrs Robinson is a complete gem and has any info you may need to enjoy your stay ,a must to be tried is the dinners at the local JACK RUSSELL pub, excellent and above and better meal than most we have been too .yes for a quiet break I would recommend it to my family and friends with a big plus that you can take your pets along as well .
