My family and friends came in to town for a wedding, and this huge, gorgeously set up and historically accurate home was so spacious and comfortable that seven grown adults each had private rooms and areas, which was so comfortable, accommodating, and perfect for our situation. We stayed two nights, and they were so outstanding. Gosh, we spent a lot of time on the comfortable balcony with the gentle breeze. We were so centrally located to EVERYTHING we could possibly want - from incredible local food establishments, entertainment, beaches, and stunning views. We were a skip away from Lakewood Park - stunning views of Lake Erie and Cleveland, and were less than 10 minutes from Edgewater Beach and Wendy Park - where everything cool and fun happens. Our host was so incredibly communicative, making sure everything was perfect, and I just had to let her know how beautiful we found the history of the house and information inside was. We had everything we possibly needed - great WiFi, basic staples like sugar, coffee, tea, salt, etc. The beds were super comfortable. Each room was air conditioned and had really comfortable beds. Boy, we really loved staying here and highly look forward to returning asap. If you are considering this home, look no further and book it. It was an incredibly outstanding experience! PRO TIP: Get the Acapulco BBQ (or any) deep dish pizza from Angelo's Pizza a local legend! You will freaking LOVE IT! I promise! Omg, it was so amazing!

This charming home was perfect for our stay in Lakewood. Our hosts made a few recommendations of places to visit, which proved to be perfect!
We encountered one slight problem, but it was resolved very quickly. The home was decorated in a style that complimented the age and history of the house.
On the practical side, the AC worked great and all appliances were in good working order. On the fun-vacation side, both the front porch and the back porch were comfortable and a great place to sip our morning tea and raise a glass of wine in the evening.
Our group of ladies, several of us of a "certain age" had no issues with the furnishings, tub or stairs.
Please be aware, the house is over 120 years old, and is a bit creaky, but it has its own energy!
We would return to this property again if we come back to Cleveland.

We came to town for work and found this lovely home it was very peaceful wonderful area and the host was absolutely great checked on us everyday making sure there wasn’t anything we needed would deff tecommend 10 out of 10

Plenty of room! Air conditioners kept living room and bedrooms comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. Extremely creaky stairs in this 130-year-old house — no one is going to climb them in the night without being heard!

Very spacious house with unique decor that adults and older children will appreciate. Beds were comfy and each room had A/C.
Susan was a great hostess that let us know about places very close by such as Lakewood Park, a must see. Nice neighborhood and centrally located to museums, beaches, restaurants, markets.

We absolutely loved our stay. Upon looking for a place, we almost didn't book here based on some ratings, but I'm so glad we did.
Susan is wonderful host. Read the property descriptions carefully, as they are thoughtful and accurate and will set the right expectation for your stay.
It's an amazing house. It's also more than 120 years old. Everything is in good working order and safe. (The basement bathroom was very recently re-painted.)
Everything is also vintage. So the floors are a bit creaky and the doors can be a little sticky. (If I was 120 years old, I would be too.) It's all beautiful and authentic.
The neighborhood is a great area. Parking was easy. It's a fun area of town to stay in. Lots of fun restaurants, bars and hangout spaces. (Many walk-able.) There's a Y one block away if you need a gym. You're not quite a mile away from an amazing park right on Lake Erie. We had no concerns at all about the safety.
You can be at the airport or downtown in 20-min or less. (University Circle is an easy drive, and just a bit further.)
We were door to door to the Rock and Roll HoF lobby in 19-min. We took the light transit downtown for a Cavs game. Quick and easy. (And affordable.)
We loved this house that for more than 120-years, provided a home to real people living real lives and raising real families. It was a privilege spending time and getting to know the house. Go in with the right expectations, and you'll love your stay too.
Thanks Susan! You officially rock!

We came to town for a wedding in Lakewood. This house was super easy to get to everything we needed - including the wedding, Lake Erie, shopping, and some activities to keep the teens entertained.
The house is super clean and still has the fun quirks of an old Victorian.
Susan is easily the most easily accessible and gracious host I’ve ever had the privilege of renting from.

Would def return as my friends loved the furnishings. Super clean. The 2 claw foot tubs each with a shower over them were great. Having that extra half bath on the 1st floor was a bonus. One of our friends had recent knee surgery & the host already had a shower chair as well as sturdy stairs next to the cast iron tub to be able to maneuver. Great water pressure. Accommodating host. I personally enjoyed the tall ceilings with skylights in my 3rd Fl bedroom. We had enough room to all stretch out. Window AC units worked great. Beaches on Lake Erie are nearby. I'm a workout buff and the Lakewood Y is a new building with top of the line equipment & an Olympic Pool only 7 min walk away. Listened to the host suggestions and saw a Great Lake Erie Sunset from Lakewood Parks Solstice Steps. As a hosp administrator I felt Uber comfortable & appreciative of modern touches like usb ports for cell phones. We were pleasantly surprised that the antique Jacobean dining table leaves easily expanded to accommodate our fun potluck dinner. Will return in the fall to see the fall leaves in the Metroparks along Rocky River.

Lot of potential with location, character of old home and size, but some definite shortcomings. Major problem is bathroom situation, neither bathroom is senior friendly with need to step into tall tub without any handles. Basement bathroom is really poor condition, need to spend some money and upgrade! Lastly needs a deep clean…

The house could be charming. But the dilapidated bathrooms fixed and uncleanliness are hard to overlook. Tiles taped to the wall in the upstairs bath and a basement bathroom that was dirty are not charming or trendy features. The kitchen was unorganized and the towel closet on the second floor looked like everything was just stuffed in. I do not recommend this home. For the cost, I expected much more.

Working with the owner was awesome.
I would stay there again.

The location was perfect and house was the perfect size for my family. But that wasn’t the best part. The owner was amazing. Very responsive and she even sent us pancakes from the highest rated restaurant for breakfast.
When you stay here you must read the story about the house. She includes it in the manual. It’s very interesting.
Overall, we had an excellent experience and will be staying here again the next time we visit Cleveland.

All of us enjoyed this 122 yr old home. Loved the attention to detail and a balance of comfortable modern conveniences yet the craftsmanship of Victorian antiques. The Jacobean dining room table pulls out on each end to seat everyone. Loved the front porch swing and the back deck overlooking the tree lined yard. Two claw foot tubs with showers over the top made my partner happy because we prefer tub baths . I love to cook and the kitchen was stocked with plenty of pots and pans. Gas stove Yay! The owner said we should go to the designer chocolate store a half mile walk away. Sweet Designs it was a wow

Property needs major updating and up keeping. No comfortable furniture inside or out to relax. Handrails loose, basement bathroom is a cellar. Clawfoot tubs difficult to navigate as no kind of grab bars available. Parking situation difficult at times as neighbors use same driveway.

We stayed here (4 adults) for a family get away. The charming house was built in 1900 and has been kept up well. Susan is a great communicator and made sure we were comfortable and happy. There are so many bars and restaurants within walking distance. Beds were comfortable and the overall feel of the place was really nice.

Though this century home has potential to be so charming, it is overwhelmingly crowded with random items. The house has so much stuff in it. Nicknacks and yard sale antiques EVERYWHERE. It’s hard to find space to put any of your things down. Even the kitchen was so junked up, we couldn’t find counter space to put down our groceries. It was difficult. If you have young children, this is not the place to choose. If meds and clutter are not your idea of relaxing, this is not the place to choose.
Check-in: there was no communication from the host about checking in. We got the check-in time but no information about the process, even after direct inquiries about it. Thankfully we ran into the cleaning team when our first family member arrived as they were just leaving. One of the cleaning team actually ended up running out and making keys for us because none were provided.
Parking: Parking is really just one long driveway, not “spots”. The host made the arrangement of spots so complicated. There is a second unit next door and they also get two places in the driveway. Thankfully the guests staying in the unit next door were easy to work with and we simplified the situation but Susan had properly stressed us all out over which places in the driveway we were supposed to squeeze into by the time we bag an talking directly.
Bathrooms: there is one and a half baths in this property and the full bath is difficult. A huge and elevated claw foot tub with shower head. You cannot actually take a bath because of the shower curtain arrangement and it is incredibly difficult to climb into. Not great for the over 65 and totally unrealistic for children.
Bedrooms: temperatures vary vastly, the windows are incredibly drafty and the beds are hard and uncomfortable
Location: it’s the best part about the house by far. Lakewood is so fun and great for family, young people, seniors whoever.

Three generations of family stayed in this home while we were in Cleveland for a wedding. It is a lovely home, furnished with many period pieces, and very roomy for our group of 10. The Lakewood location was a very nice, old, quiet neighborhood. The home was built in 1900, and it has some personality (creaky stairs, imaginative locations for some updated features such as the bathrooms). But the owner and her staff were very attentive and made sure that everything was in working order. The home is a charming representation of that period of Cleveland history.

Located less than a mile from Lakewood Park overlooking Erie, this home worked well for a reunion of friends coming from three cities. We needed 5 bedrooms for 3 couples and 2 singles. The side of the house we rented has 2.5 bathrooms. Our party was all over 65 and the arrangement of the bathrooms was a bit of a surprise. One full bath was on the second floor with a claw footed tub that made it difficult to get into for a shower. The other full bath was in the basement without a door to the shower room, though it had a door to the toilet room. (We worked out a signal to alert when the basement bathroom was in use.) The half bath was created on what had probably been a small back porch at one time, just off the kitchen. The heat was difficult to control on the third floor. A fan was provided but we couldn't get the heat to turn off and the fan didn't help much. (We were there in mid-May before air conditioning would be in use. There was some confusion about who provided what in terms of cleaning and paper supplies. Though there is a binder with house rules, not everything was covered. The house concierge was prompt in responding to our requests. We would recommend the space to future guests with the caveat that this is a Victorian home with a variety of quirks. Flexibility and communication with the owner and house concierge are key to lovely stay. We're glad we were there.
