The Story Behind The Bettye:
When I purchased this building, I pondered how we could name it meaningfully. I discovered that during the 1800's, the original land owner's name was Elizabeth.
I thought about my beautiful mother who passed in December of 2013 and how her middle name was also Elizabeth.
And then I thought about my grandmother, Elizabeth Millican, who passed last October. She suffered from Dementia and Alzheimer's, which had sadly changed her personality, so I never had the pleasure of truly knowing her. After her passing, I began to have extensive talks with my grandfather regarding the kind of woman she was and their beautiful love story.
He told me that a preacher let them get married in his church after a funeral so they could use the flowers from the ceremony. They didn't have two cents to rub together, but they ended up traveling the world for his job as a military pilot. I learned that my grandmother loved adventure and religiously read every page of the newspaper, speaking intelligently on world politics and even celebrities. She had a compassionate heart for the needy, always wanting to give money to anyone who asked for spare change.
She took her role as mother and homemaker seriously and my grandfather says he always felt cared for, loved and respected. Elizabeth Anne Millican went by Bettye Anne. So with three Elizabeths worthy of being honored and also to honor my grandfather for his limitless love for his bride, we named the building The Bettye as a small way of paying tribute.

Great location. Easy walk to Broadway and other attractions.
4.7
Great location. Able to walk to Broadway for the great music, country music hall of fame . So many others too, wish we had more time to get to them all. If we go back would stay her again
4.7
Great location and accommodations.
4.7
Clean, modern, cool. Location completely unbeatable, far enough away to avoid noise but close enough to walk to anything, anytime!
4.7
Great location! Super cute! We will stay there again!

Clean, great location

This is a beautiful place to stay and it accommodated our group of 3 adult couples well. No need for a car as all places we were interested in were within walking distance. Parking was a challenge to find, but we were able to locate the most reasonably priced garage not too far away.
4.7
The property was great - perfect location, clean & communication was outstanding. Would highly recommend & would stay here again!
4.7
The place and area was great! However the one complaint I have is the living room and fridge had not been cleaned so we had to clean it when we arrived. I had friends sleeping on the couch and we had to clean up potato chips and barbecue sauce spilled all over the couch. We ended up buying a cover to go over the couch for him to sleep on. The rest of the stay was great and very convenient but the living room just seemed like it had not been clean.
4.7
Great location. Property is better than advertised. Had a great experience with the host. We actually booked it for the wrong dates and they were very accommodating and quickly extended our stay at no cost. Great experience and highly recommend!
4.7
Had whole family ( 4 adult kids) stay with us in this great VRBO. Was great to hang out together here. Easy walking distance to all your needs.
4.7
Lovely property with 3 beds and 3 baths. Has another property right above it but not too horrible with the noise. Can not hear the street from the bedrooms. Quick walk to Broadway and Printer’s Alley. Will stay here again

The first thing that you notice when you walk in is the smell. It's musty and not well ventilated. The noise from the people who were staying above this unit was VERY Loud. Could hear every step, (Line dance !), and word they were saying. The photos make this place look very chic and modern but in reality it is pretty run down.
Complete lack of privacy in two of the bedrooms and bathrooms as they are connected with a hole that the vent runs through. Awkward!
It's also a construction zone. Drilling and cement mixing starts early in the morning. For what we paid we expected a better experience. We won't be back.
4.7
The abosulte best part about the property Bettye A is the location! It's an easy walk to ask kinds of sightseeing locations, including everything on Broadway. There are also at least 2 Hop On/Hop Off stops nearby if you want to sign up for that. The property is nice. The pictures online were probably taken when the original renovations were done. While it's still nice, there's been a little wear, so don't expect pristine. Definitely still worth it!!
I read previous comments about a musty smell. It seems the owners have pretty much resolved that.
If you stay in Bettye A and people not with your group are in Bettye B (above you), you will definitely hear them. It may be awkward to ask them to quiet down if you don't know them. There are ear plugs in the room for you to use. I did find using a white noise machine helped.
4.7
It was in a great area located 10 minutes from downtown, it lacked cleanliness and had some needed repairs. I believe I read a previous review of the damp musty smell entire time

This location was perfect for our family. We parked and never used the vehicle. Walking and scootering was quick and easy. Our group ranged from 16-60 and it slept all 6 of us comfortably. We would stay here again. Info was clear and the unit was very clean.

Awesome!

We all loved the property! It was smartly decorated and well stocked…including beer left behind by previous guests☺️. It was a great location for our visit. We only Ubered to one place and that was only because it was cold! Your picture on this email/survey has some decorative pillows and flowers that were not there for us but we didn’t know what we were missing until now 😂. We would definitely stay at Music City Loft, Bettye A again!!

Walk to everything! Perfect location
4.7
Loved the location. The layout was great and accommodating for up to 3 couples. There is a strong odor of mildew. VERY strong. The bathrooms and kitchen need a deep cleaning. It appears there is mold in 2 of the 3 bathrooms. There is severe water damage in the largest bathroom near the shower. I loved so much about this property but would not return due to the smell/cleanliness.
4.7
Sick Building…DON’T STAY HERE!!!
should be inspected by the health department. The MOLD and MILDEW is out of control!! They claim it’s the bricks. It’s been going on for years and they are doing nothing to repair it. Everything we owned including my blush brush smelled of mold.
These people don’t care! Save your health and find another rental.
4.7
The property is in a very good location, conveniently located near many downtown attractions. Communication with property manager was great, plenty of emails in advance, giving us clear instructions. We had an issue (user error) but was able to reach someone after hours quickly who helped us with our issue immediately.
A couple of things prevented this from being a 5 star review:
1- cleaning wasn't done when we arrived at 3:00.;
2 - there was a musty smell throughout the unit which was very noticeable whenever we came back to unit;
3 - the loft has a very unusual layout and the bedroom in the loft is open air to the family room
4.7
Very well maintained and awesome location. Everything is within walking distance. Printer's alley was our favorite

We (3 couples in our 30s and 40s) recently stayed at this property and it was beautiful! Looked just like the pictures - very roomy and spacious and we had everything we needed. We had a little trouble getting in when we got there (we requested an early check-in and the person who answered the Hotline did not show us down for that), however, we were put in touch with someone quickly and it was resolved within 30 minutes.
We saw on other reviews that people noticed a "musty" smell when you go in and we noticed it also, but just think maybe it gets like that when it's not used? We turned the air on and it went away quickly.
One thing I would like to mention that I wish we had known ahead of time is that one of the bedrooms is an actual loft - so it has open walls, which means no privacy! Just FYI.
Also, we rented the bottom unit and the people renting the upper unit were loud and played music til 3am aand 4am and it was loud! Obviously the hosts can't really do anything about that but just be aware that that could happen! Although then we found the jar of earplugs that were supplied in the kitchen so I guess we should of known!
Lot's of restaurants/coffee shops near by on our block so easy to get coffee/breakfast in the mornings.
Overall great stay and would highly recommend!

We loved this home. Great location, cozy beds and linens and all amenities needed. The team was wonderful to work with and we will definitely stay here again.
4.7
It was a very nice place, plenty of room, nice decor, GREAT location, so close to most everything, etc. But the tenants upstairs were very loud, making it very hard to sleep, along with our "clean" towels being wet folded and put away in the bathroom cabinets making them smell very musty, we had to re-wash them all and smell still wouldn't come out. Also, make up was not cleaned off of 2 sinks from previous tenants we "assume".

Epic location, beautiful property!

Location & communication with owner went great! I rated our stay a 4 because we all expected it to be cleaner throughout (especially in common areas & bathrooms), also, there’s a musty smell that hit us each time returned after being out & about all day. With that said, it was beautifully decorated.

There are strong pluses for this place, close for walking to broadway, showers are A+ Nice size. But it was hard to ignore the Odor we are sitting at the airport right now and our clothes smell of the mildew. It was very damp throughout the house. Owner was called and seemed unaware of an issue.

Rented this unit due to its proximity to Broadway and Nissan Stadium and the availability of three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Super close to Bridgestone Arena and the Ryman Theater. Coffee shop directly across the street, liquor store around the corner and plenty of restaurants around the block. Negatives were the constant musty smell, the openings around the duct and loft space that created a lack of privacy, and intense warmth in the loft space. Overall the location won out and we survived!

At first glance from the outside, you might second guess your decision to book this place but once you get inside you will be content with your decision.
The place was spacious and had plenty of room for 3 couples , 2 with private bathrooms and one “community” bathroom. Everything was modern and new and everything worked well. It was very close to everything downtown including broadway. We walked to Nissan stadium for fun and back through broadway. There was a large variety of food choices nearby and there was a grocery store and Walgreens very close.
It was a great place to stay, close enough to everything but not so close you heard music late into the night.
Highly recommend!
