Great location, everything you need is around you. The kitchen had everything you needed, bed was comfortable! It did get hot during the day but it cooled down quite quick after opening everything up in the evening and they supplied you with a big fan which was great. Would stay here again!

This is our second stay at this property. Perfect location and great owners. The ease of check in and awesome location will have us back again.

We arrived to a nice , clean space. We never needed to communicate with the owner since everything we needed was available. However, because we arrived pretty late, it would’ve been nice to have had bottled water as a complimentary. The grill was clean but the Clamatis vine where the grill is located could use trimming. The mini blind could use a new replacement since the current one has holes and does not block the lighting from the back business street light. Other than that, I would recommend staying here.

This location was great. It is walking distance to the beach, a market, and restaurants. It was Close enough to UCSD for the purpose of our trip. The neighborhood was not the best. The 7-11 sign is very bright all night long. There is a bar whose parking backs up to this property. There were several nights closing time got loud (2am). We did not have the luxury of sleeping in. Plus there is no AC so for comfort we had to leave the windows open. This may be a better location for a vacation but not for early days that require sharp mental focus.

This property did not disappoint. It was clean and provided everything you needed. It was in a great location- the beach is only about a block away with great views and it was a short walk to the La Jolla cove.

With no vehicle, we loved the location. We’re able to walk to the windansea beach several times daily, and to the La Jolla cove, Sunday farmers market and even pick up groceries at near by Vons market. Although a small space, we had everything we needed. I prepared a salmon dinner for our son and adult grandchildren who came to visit us.

Perfect for one for an extended stay. Clean and comfortable.

Great location near the beach, small but well designed layout for the studio. Loved my stay!
There were some minor inconveniences such as no soap/shampoo provided and dirty dishes when we arrived. Expect a bit more considering the cleaning fee they charge.

This place was exactly as expected. Easy access to the beach and the place was very clean! Would recommend

Pros: The location of this small studio is wonderful. Super close to the ocean and walkable into downtown La Jolla and Bird Rock. The washer and dryer were great.
Cons: Beware, this studio sits on a very busy and noisy alley. There was noise 24 hours each day. We had construction workers working on the small stuido next to us during our entire stay which was pretty disruptive. And there is a bar across the alley which is pretty noisy late night/early morning. If you are not there to rest and are ok with noise, you will be good. Also, the stuido is small.

My husband and I stayed here for a week while visiting family in San Diego. The property was comfortable and clean, and we liked having a private little patio as well. Good, fast internet — we both worked remotely and were able to be on zoom calls at the same time with no issue. It did tend to get a little stuffy but getting the fan going helped a lot. We had no issues with noise in the alley or from the restaurants nearby.

Location truly was convenient to beaches, dining, farmers market and shops.
The duration of our stay was 1.5 weeks, which worked perfectly.
Hosts were quick to respond.
Definitely recommend it!

We rented this property months in advance in anticipation of a long stay in La Jolla prior to the birth of our second son. We had intended to use the property as a place for our nanny, who was traveling alone with us from Germany to America. I’m somewhat local, with lots of family in La Jolla and a good knowledge of the area.
We had a terrible experience with the property and the manager/owner. Within hours of attempting to check in, I had to file complaints with VRBO and my credit card company in an attempt yo recover more than 4,000 dollars in charges. Although responsive, the property owner proved to be unhelpful - somehow blaming our judgement in selecting her property for a lack of cleanliness, an ant infestation, and an overall dump of a place.
First, the outside: by the owner’s own admission, this “studio” is a garage closet/shed that they have converted to a place to sleep. Alley loaded housing is typical in California, but the puddles and trash bins, cars and rotting wood give the whole thing a forgotten feel. Not shown in the photos: the bed is next to a window facing a parked car, the neighbors’, with the headlights facing the unit’s loveseat. After the heavy rains locally, puddles and muck covered the dirty sheds that greet you at the property door. The entry area is three used parking spots. With a bar across the alley, the property has an unsafe feel — actually something difficult to achieve in such an amazing beach community!
Going inside, unfortunately things got worse. When we went to turn on the lights left of the entrance, we discovered a long train of black ants crawling from light socket into the shelf on the wall. We attempted to wipe them away as quickly as possible. Not many returned, but slowly they came out again in twos and threes. Continuing on, we found a wet cleaning towel on the floor next to some aluminum foil. Both were soaking wet. The sheets had the distinct appearance of having been slept in, although the bed was made — there was the indentation from a human body in the pillows and comforter; when we pulled back the bedspread, we found a white stain on the top sheet at a questionable location, about halfway down the length of a man. Finally, we found a dirty cereal bowl in an unclean sink. Going into the bathroom, it also had been used.
We immediately called both the owner and Vrbo. We then vacated the property. Despite this, we have not yet been granted a refund. Do not rent here!

The two of us stayed at Seaglass Hideaway for just over a month in February. It was cozy and comfortable--but it might be a little too cozy for that long of a time :) But the location was absolutely marvelous. Beach, check. Groceries, check. Bars, check. Restaurants, check. Downtown shopping, check. Farmers market, check--all easy walking distance. We loved our stay and wouldn't hesitate to return (maybe not quite a whole month though).

Location of this place was great! It's definitely more dated than it looks in the pictures but if you're easy going you'll be fine.

This property is tiny and quaint. But just big enough for two people. We loved walking to the beach when we wanted too. This location is nice as its quite and yet close to everything. The host took care of the one problem we had in min (Not her fault)!
We would highly recomend staying in this location!

The floor fan took room in an already small space. Ceiling fan would be so much better. We tried hard to keep sand out but floor got gritty fast. A rug inside the door to catch debris would be nice. Otherwise was very nice and would probably go back.

I stayed for a week with my dog and loved the convenience of walking to the beach, several restaurants, taco shops, and cafes. I stayed during an excessive heat wave and was comfortable with the included fan. The unit maximizes space and is relatively quiet and private. There is a bar in front of the unit and the noise from bar-goers was minimal, though the bar's on-site construction seemed to be happening at all hours of the day and night. A hose or on-site dog-wash station would be helpful as it was inconvenient to drive to a self-service dog wash each time I took the dog to the beach.

This studio feels spacious for it's small footprint. The back patio lets in plenty of sunshine and fresh air. The kitchen has everything you need for a dinner for 2. The carport right outside the front door is super convenient.
Multiple restaurants and stores within 2 blocks are super convenient! Wanted to extend our stay for 3 more days but it was booked up.

Nice Studio, Great Host, Noisy Location
The studio is exactly as listed-- small, very clean, with a renovated bathroom. The kitchen accommodates one person at a time. The host is VERY responsive and helpful. However, the unit, which is accessed through an open garage, faces an alley with a bar directly opposite. Between the late-night revelers and a 6am cleaning crew depositing glass bottles in recycling bins, it is loud.

Great location, no AC
Cute and very tiny studio apartment. We had a fabulous time and loved being a few blocks from a non-touristy beach. It’s very small, but mostly a good design and pretty efficient with the space. Bathroom and kitchen are super small, but they worked for us! Would be very tough to make this place work with a child or more than two people. (It really is THAT small. Feels like some European flats.)
Host was very nice the little we communicated. Provided tons of local recommendations.
Bed was comfortable, everything seemed very clean.
A couple beach chairs and towels provided were useful. Laundry was super convenient in a shared carport around the corner.
I do want to share the negatives so people know what they’re getting in advance, but honestly with the price of real estate in that area, I don’t think there could be any possible better options for the price. It served our needs and let us have a fantastic stay in La Jolla for less than the hotels around would charge.
Our big issue was no AC. There was a powerful fan that helped, but we had to have the patio or front door open for it to have any effect. We didn’t feel comfortable leaving doors or windows open while we were gone because it wasn’t the most private area…units are all packed in very tight. The back patio is technically private but has other properties’ windows (frosted) sort of overlooking it. So when we returned, it was always stiflingly hot and stuffy. We had to leave the fan on all night to sleep comfortably.
For how close it was to other units and a shared driveway, we were surprised it was pretty quiet most of the time. We could hear another unit through the bathroom if we were both using our bathrooms at the same time. The door also doesn’t seal well, so a family loading up early one morning in the shared carport was very loud for us trying to sleep in. Ants also got in, but the ammonia/vinegar spray the hosts left for us to use did kill them off for the most part. They were tiny and didn’t bite, just annoying. Seemed to be going for something under the bed.
Like I said, still fantastic value for the price, but just know what you’re getting into! My husband was more bothered by the lack of AC that I was, so depending on the person, it might be an issue.
Otherwise, definitely come and enjoy a nice beach vacation in beautiful La Jolla!

Fabulous Studio 2 blocks from the Beach!
This is an efficient, cozy, relaxing studio space that's 2 blocks from the Windandsea Beach in La Jolla! The Kitchen is VERY small but 100% functional. I cooked every meal in house for the week I was there. They do have a significant sugar ant issue, but the host had another treatment done while I was there and this made a HUGE difference. It is noisy in the were hours of the morning due to restaurant traffic but it eventually dies down. Your neighbors are very close and you can hear showers or conversations. The parking under the car port is very tight! You can't have 2 cars there and get your stuff in and out and get inside the front door. Very clean and comfortable bed!

La Jolla studio
My wife and I just spent a month here in La Jolla and have already planned a return trip for next year. Wind and Sea is the most beautiful beach we have ever been to. Love the rock formations. This studio is just as advertising. Great walking distance to everything. Every morning we’d walk straight down to beach (approx .4 mi) walk the length and circle back up (approx 1.2 mi). Walks to various places in town are between 3/4 and 1 1/4 miles. And the Shack for Happy Hr is a mere 51 steps 😁.

Incredible month away
I had the joy of staying in this darling spot for the month of January and it was truly perfect. 5 mins from GORGEOUS Windandsea beach, a few blocks from food options, and a 15 min walk from the village, the location was perfect. The unit is fairly well stocked - just missed a scissors, and Sharon went above and beyond to help fix cable and answer any questions. The cleaning gal who came twice midstay did an exceptional job. Laundry was easy. Shower was dreamy. Truly had an amazing time. If you are into cooking, the kitchen is a little tight, but otherwise it's pretty amazing. It is adjacent the alley of the Shack bar, which got noisy a couple nights, but I just had my earplugs handy for those instances. More frequent to hear the surf on nights it was really pounding over shenanigans in the alley, but if you are sensitive sleepers, that may be an issue. I was already looking at open dates to come back while I was there, so I'd say it's a 10/10 for me.

Wonderful long term stay
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 months, working remotely. Good location for us, 25-30 min walk to town, 5 min walk to beach. Beach chairs were a great bonus!
Plenty of closet and storage space for clothes, and the bed was so comfortable! Kitchen is fully equipped with anything you may need.
Having the car port was awesome and saved us the headache of worrying about street parking. This unit does share the carport with the unit next to it, however that was under construction during our stay so we never had to share :) The guys working on the house next door were incredibly nice and loved chatting with them!
WiFi was great, we never had issues while working remotely even with video on. The desk was also incredibly nice to have. Having the outdoor space was perfect, especially with both of us working from home. Definitely couldn’t have stayed in this studio without it.
The sliding door to the back patio was very difficult to open and we’d have to reconfigure it on its track whenever we opened it. Maybe some WD40 would help?
Not having AC wasn’t an issue as the unit came with a tall fan that helped a lot. Laundry was around the corner and shared with the other units but never ran into issues with sharing - great to have!
Being close to the neighbors and behind The Shack (bar/restaurant) wasn’t an issue for us! We rarely heard any noise besides cars leaving the small parking lot but we also slept with the fan on which helps drown out noise.
Shower was incredible and had great water pressure plus amazing bath towels, but the sink is very small. It worked fine for us, just had to wash my face in the kitchen sink sometimes after a night out!
Unit provided cleaning service a couple times a month which was excellent, but also has a vacuum if needed for the in-between cleaning.
Overall such a wonderful stay and wish we booked for longer!! We’ll definitely stay here again if we’re back in the area.

Great location, cottage well-appointed
This cottage was well-appointed in terms of decorating and thinking of all the little things necessary to have an enjoyable experience. Negatives were the lockbox didn't work (WD-40?) which detained our entry by about 45 minutes, sliding glass door to patio stuck considerably, light bulb missing from lamp nearest the door, toilet paper fixture kept falling down; however, these were minor compared to the location, dog-friendliness and general appearance. Would definitely be interested in staying again and referring others.

Lacks essentials
No dish towels or pot holders. Only 2 drinking glasses, 3 wine glasses (of which 2 were broken), badly damaged cupboard. Fridge door only opens 2/3 until it hits cupboard. Dirty/old grill. Tiny bathroom sink. Cannot use it without water getting on the floor. Patio door sticks. No prep room for cooking.

Access to all La Jolla has to offer
This is a great two person stay right in the heart of La Jolla. Only three blocks away from Wind & Sea Beach and easy driving distance to all other La Jolla beaches, this was the perfect location for our get away.

I'm going to try and keep this brief, but if you only read the first part of this...stop looking for other places, this is your spot. When I booked this place, the only thing I wasn't able to properly research was the neighborhood. When I got here, I genuinely didn't want to leave. There is a market, a few restaurants, and a convenience store all within one block. I started every day of the 10 weeks getting a warm croissant from the bakery a block away and walking to the beach. The section of the beach where this is located rarely had more than a few people during the day and the view is spectacular. It's nearly like having your own private sanctuary. If you are staying long enough for the cleaning service to come, they do a phenomenal job. My paper towels, toilet paper etc. were restocked. The coffee maker was cleaned. The sheets and bath towels were laundered. It looked like new after every cleaning. I was by myself for this stay and the size of the place was perfect. I would imagine it would work for couples as well. There is a comfy couch and I spent most of my evenings on the patio where on some nights I could hear the waves crashing. Sharon and Alise are wonderful hosts. When the coffee maker broke, I messaged them and they immediately ordered a new one which arrived two days later. The glass patio door was a bit wonky (still worked, but sticking every once in a while) and when I told them, they sent someone to fix it the next day. Having the parking spot is a huge plus as well. Overall, I can't speak highly enough about the hosts and the unit. I am hoping to stay here many more times.

The place is nice and the location is absolutely amazing. Windensea beach is less than 10 min walk away. There’s a small market across the street too. We pretty much didn’t drive anywhere once we arrived.
