If you are looking for a simple, peaceful, away from the crowd vacation rental, this might be the place for you. The view from the deck of Honeymoon Bay is gorgeous. It was fun watching the boats motor about the bay. However, my friend and I feel the rental is over priced for what we got. What you don't see in the photos is the fact that the bathroom plumbing fixtures are all in serious need of updating. There is mildew on the deck and the deck furniture. The kitchen, which is shared with the laundry and furnace, is a little dark cubby hole in the back of the house. That said, the rest of the house is lovely with many windows looking out over the bay, and the hosts are very friendly and responsive. Will we stay there again? If the price was right, maybe.

We had a wonderful stay yet again, and enjoyed the tranquility of Honeymoon Bay. The newly expanded deck allows enjoyment of the view in either sun or shade. We look forward to our next visit! visitandand what new improvvements

We had quick trip as a family and really enjoyed it. Great view and location!

The property is located in a beautiful location on a dead end street on Honeymoon Bay and although it was a weekend just after the 4th of July it was supremely quiet. It was just what we were looking for. The unit was large with a very large deck with a hot tub and BBQ. The views were fabulous and it had all the amenities we needed. The host was helpful and very friendly. We would happily stay there again.

Property needs lots of upgrades, for the price range. Entrance to the property is not easy for older people, very steep sidewalk. Walking to the entrance you have to walk around the hot tub, can be challenging when dark and wet. The location is very quiet and the views fantastic.

My family and I stayed at this lovely property over the weekend. The host, David, was super friendly and accommodating. We felt incredibly welcome here. The rooms were spacious and had great views of the water. We highly recommend staying here during your next visit to Whidbey!

We had a blast. The view on the bay is gorgeous and as they are enlarging the deck it is even more comfortable to stay on the outside patio.
The setup of the house is ideal with two couples with babies as each of the two master rooms has its own bathroom and they are located on each side of the house so we didn't hear the other couple.
The couches are super comfortable and the house has everything that we needed.
The host is very nice and helpful.
All of these made us having an amazing time!

We were fortunate enough to stay for a month here. The home is well equipped, with comfortable beds and a full kitchen we were able to cook in throughout our stay. Dave, the host is super friendly and helpful, and lives upstairs with his wife and dog. He was easy to work with and even installed a gate for us so our dog could be fully enclosed on the patio. The patio provided amazing views to wake up to every morning, and every evening our dog enjoyed watching the bunnies forage across the lawn. The location is great - just 7 minutes drive either to Greenbank farm for off-leash fun, or to downtown Freeland for groceries or restaurants. Also highly recommend the Greenbank Deli sandwiches - they are amazing but the wait is very long. Thanks Dave for making this home available for people to enjoy Whidbey Island!

Thank you for sharing your lovely home. We thoroughly enjoyed the comfy seating on the deck and the fantastic view. All 3 beds were reported as being very comfortable too. We look forward to coming back and seeing your Tuscan Villa vision materialize.

We had a great stay but were disappointed we were not informed of the current renovations taking place. The house is quite dated and will be great when everything is finished. But currently it is not safe for children as the railing on the deck is not completed
David was GREAT to work with. Very helpful, responded to our needs quickly and is a wealth of knowledge about place to go, restaurants, etc on Whidbey.
Location is great…not too far from ferry, close to grocery store in Freeland, wineries, etc

Dave, the owner and guest host lives upstairs of this house. Your stay will be very quiet and peaceful. Dave is set on making your stay a great one with restaurant suggestions and other aids you may need. He loaned us a leash extender for the back yard so my two dogs could run around. He is always making improvements on the house and is always there if you need him.
The view is spectacular, you can see it from the couches in the living room. The beds are comfortable. The TV is limited to Hulu but I was able to get Netflix using my account.
The only drawback is the tubs are very small and the kitchen could use more closet space. There is only one bedroom ( of three) that has a closet, but the bedrooms are good size to spread out. It was just my husband and I totally “chilling out” for the week-end but I could see that kids running around might disturb Dave and his wife. My dogs were excellent and
chilled out” too.
The restaurant food in South Whidby is fantastic ( Saltwater, Gordon’s and The Font
Street Grill).

This property was still in process when we were there and we visited during so extraordinarily times. Ice storms and my uncle was passing and the host was so helpful through it all. We stayed with my parents, kids, brother and all our dogs. He was great about everything, quick with communication and very thoughtful. We have our own rentals and I was very impressed by how helpful and personable our host was.

We really enjoyed our stay. Dave and his wife were very welcoming and sweet. The location was so beautiful. A full view of the puget sound from all bedrooms and the front room. Closest town is about 4 miles away. If you don’t want to travel, then you should bring your own food.
Loved it!

Property is clean and beautifully decorated. Instructions to locate and enter was very detailed. There were enough towels for us to use for the hot tub and for showers which was great! The hot tub might need to be cleaned (there was a good bit of dirt and sand in it).
We used the kitchen quite a bit - there were enough pots, pans, serving ware for us, but felt that a couple of items would be great to have but was missing. There wasn’t any cooking oil or sugar, and a lot of the cooking utensils are quite worn out and may need to be replaced.
Overall it was a lovely stay and we enjoyed the view and all of the other amenities provided (yay for coffee and a kettle for tea in the mornings, and a bbq for grilling!)
Thank you Dave!

The view from the deck is impressive. The property is not really ready for guests yet. The owner described it as "a work in progress". The walkway to the entrance is VERY STEEP. I was concerned that my wife might fall. This is a basement fix up job.

Spring break trip
Thank you for being a great host. House is in a great location with beautiful views. Great setup for 2 families with 2 master bathrooms. Dave goes above and beyond by having bottled water, popcorn, candy, hot chocolate, fruit and Capri suns for the kids available in refrigerator. We had a great spring break trip with our friends.

Island relaxation
3 generations and our dogs enjoyed this property for a 3 day weekend. The property was clean and comfortable. The outdoor are was great, featuring great outdoor furniture, a grill and hot tub... which we took full advantage of.
We had a great trip exploring around the island! Dave was great for hospitality:)
He had many suggestions on things to do and places to eat. He was also quick to help our towel needs. Thank you Dave for sharing your place

What they say is true
If you’ve read the reviews on this property, which is honestly what made our final decision on renting it, then you know that Dave is a gracious host with excellent communication and the hot tub is pretty awesome. I found the rooms quite sizable and the common space was comfortable. It was windy and rainy while we were there but that didn’t hamper our enjoyment. We were just there for two nights to relax, enjoy, sit in the hot tub, and hang out. That’s exactly what we did!

Ocean views and quiet time with the dog!
Dave was an attentive and gracious host. My stay was full of breath taking water views, time on the gorgeous covered deck drinking local coffee and reading. Then off to explore some great beaches for dogs that Dave recommended. Perfect place for a family weekend or a quiet weekend away with your fur baby. Highly recommend for all seasons. Thank you Dave for opening up your home.

Lots of space for our family with 4 teenagers. The views made morning coffee a delight. Lots of seating on the deck for meals al fresco. Great location near Freeland and Langley. Quick jaunt to the ferry.

Nice getaway
We enjoyed our short stay at this home. View is wonderful and area is quiet and peaceful. Kitchen is basic but worked well for our needs. The hot tub location is odd but we didn’t use it., just be careful you don’t step into it. All rooms have beautiful views with large windows.

The owner David is EXCELLENT!!! He’s so available, friendly, accommodating and just awesome. I loved the jacuzzi too. It was so nice to go in the jacuzzi before sleeping, and then wake up and get in the jacuzzi again. It’s so quiet there with such a beautiful scenery. I can’t wait to go back!!

One of the best vaca spots i've ever stayed
My boyfriend and I came out to Whidbey to celebrate our anniversary, and staying here made the trip extra special. David is a very kind & generous host, and the space is truly wonderful. We can't wait to return - and we feel very safe with the COVID safety precautions in place. Highly recommend!!

Nice but not as clean
The view was beautiful but the owner was doing remodeling outside and the steep walkway down to the deck was very hard for older people. The hottub was not clean - sandy and murky and there were hairs in the tub.

Amazing property and host!
Our stay at honeymoon bay was quite wonderful. The view was amazing and their was plenty of activities to do with local beaches, parks, and a grocery store within a ten minute drive. The property was immaculate, clean, and serene. The hot tub was the hottest I've ever been in which was nice and clean and very relaxing. The host was exceptionally hospitable and very helpful. For those of you that may be concerned about renting the lower level of this home, don't be! They were nothing but extremely helpful and quiet and left us entirely to our own space. And it and quite nice to have someone right there to ask questions or make requests to that were promptly responded to our delight! I would not hesitate to rent this property again. I have to say this was our most pleasant and comfortable stay in a vrbo yet!
