I absolutely loved it, super cute and clean. We had our boat right out the back door! The only down side was 1 toilet for 8 people so you had to be a little strategic. I would stay here again it was a great weekend!

We had a blast this past week. The cabin had the perfect up north feel! The trees between the properties offered a lot of privacy and shade. We brought the boat up, and everyone had such a great time at the dune/sandbar (which has a rope swing that the kids played on for hours.) The adults enjoyed beverages in the sun playing water games. Our 10 year old caught hundreds of perch throughout the weekend. The only minor downfall was how shallow the lake is bringing the boat back up which another review prepared us for that. It was the absolute perfect week, and perfect location. We can't say enough great things about The House That Jack Built. Thank you, Jack! 😉

We didn’t really like the 3 almost 4 star, not so many reviews but we liked the pics of the place and we decided to give it a chance.
We had an incredible time, place is clean which me and family loved the most, honestly I don’t know why it does not have better reviews but I do recommend renting this place and I’m a really picky person but for the price this place is great.

The property is beautiful right on the lake. Lake is shallow about 2ft deep for at least 500 yards makes getting boat out from the dock a little difficult but once in the deep it is good large 4000 acre lake. Had a little snag with the check. We did not get the email with check in code so we emailed the manager. She did reply but instead of giving us the code she replied with "refer to the check in email" which we had never gotten. We proceeded to attempt another email with no answer and called all phone numbers listed but no answers on a Sunday afternoon at 4p which is the check in time. So after a 6 hour drive with cranky children standing outside waiting for a reply was frustrating. Second once we got in of course everyone had to go to the bathroom, only to discover there was no toilet paper UGH. Then we discover a note on the refrigerator that a repair man would be Installing a new stove on Tuesday, so sorry for the inconvenience. After the initial snags we had a nice stay the lake and property are beautiful.. However, first impressions were not good.

Great Cabin
We recently stayed at this cabin 4th of July week. It brought back a lot of great memories because we use to stay there for summer vacations growing up. We had a nice time and it’s located in a quiet spot. The only minor issue we had was our allergies. Not sure if there were pets there before or just dust. We were outdoors quite a bit so it wasn’t a huge issue. Overall we had a great time.

Great location, great deck, great lake access. House, appliances, and furniture are all very old which is fine...cleanliness certainly left much to be desired (mold spores all over bathroom wallpaper, walls are filthy in bathroom, especially around tp holder, hair still in tub drain, base of toilet is repulsive, carpets and couches need a deep cleaning, cob webs hanging from ceilings and corners, bug guts splattered throughout house, bathroom smells sour, house is musty, etc.). Beds aren't comfortable. Dresser drawers were near impossible to open/close. The railing up the stairs and into the loft is a safety hazard for toddlers and babies as the rails go horizontal versus vertical. Not much sunshine can get through as the lot is heavily covered in trees. Stays nice and cool - perfect for sleeping. Not so much for outdoor enjoyment or star gazing. All in all it fit the need and we had a great time. Cleanliness was the biggest drawback for us. It would be really convenient and helpful if lake toys, kayaks, or a paddle boat were offered with the house. It would be a nice bonus.

We really enjoyed our week at The House that Jack Built. The location was great. Within an hour of St. Ignas, Soo Lock, Tahquamenon Falls and the Garland Zoo. We ventured a bit further also to Kitch-iti-kipi and Pictured Rocks. Both duable day trips. The cabin was great. Slept 9 comfortably. The loft worked great for the kid to have their space. The lake was great. Sandy bottom and shallow for a long ways. We did not have any worried about kids in the water. Only 2 complaints: (one really) the kids were upset the X-box did work. But the Nintendo kept them occupied. The 2nd were the mattresses in the 2 bedrooms. They could use an upgrade.
All in all it was a great trip, great place to stay and we would definitely consider staying here ag as in.
Thanks for having us.

We’ve rented on Lake Brevort before and truly love the atmosphere this area has to offer! This house accommodated 6 adults and 3 kids comfortably. The loft alone was perfect for my family of 5! Beautiful views, nice large deck, fires in the evenings; an overall relaxing experience! The lake is perfect for my 3 younger kids (ages 5, 4, and 3) because of the shallowness of the water. We visited near by attractions as well and was satisfied with what the entire surrounding areas have to offer. The rental management was quick to answer any questions and very friendly as well! Thank you for everything!
