About this house rental
Discover our mountain retreat, a spacious and inviting property with quick and easy access to many area attractions including the Bavarian town of Leavenworth, WA. The old world craftsmanship of cedar and stone combined with modern amenities makes this lodge an exceptional and unique property.
The lodge is situated on 3 wooded acres in a quaint neighborhood with over 5,000 square feet that can easily accommodate friends and family or just a mountain getaway.
With 6 King log beds, 3 Queen beds, 2 twins, 2 bunkbeds, and 1 foldaway bed, there are endless configurations that will accommodate your group. Due to new Chelan County restrictions of all short term rentals in the county, your group is limited to 12 guests total, including any age of children. Thank you for understanding.
There are two massive and cozy fireplaces, a large and inviting great room, fully equipped kitchen with brand new appliances, a sitting room with large dining table, and a covered 8 person hot tub and large sparkling pool open seasonally..
We have two plasma TV/DVD/VCR players and an expansive movie library. A covered sitting porch to take in the mountain air and gaze at the stars is located on the second floor. Lastly, there is also a reading balcony with chairs and large book library.
We take pride in our retreat and love it for our own family. Many families come year after year to reunite, gather, and explore. We will do everything we can to create the same lasting memories for you as well.
Area Attractions:
Snow Activities:
We are an easy 20 minute drive to one of the best ski slopes in Washington State, Stevens Pass. We are in walking distance to Wenatchee National Forest with hundreds of miles of snowmobiling and groomed cross-country skiing and sledding. Leavenworth has an affordable 'ski hill' that is ideal for kids with beginner level rope tows and an intermediate level tube hill. It is also a base point for cross country ski trails.
Fishing:
We are in easy walking distance to Lake Wenatchee and 5 minutes from Fish Lake, known for it's feisty rainbow and large brown trout. The Wenatchee River, just re-opened for Steelhead fishing after a 15 year hiatus, runs throughout the area, not to mention hundreds of mountain lakes and streams within a 30 mile radius.
Hiking:
Hiking opportunities are endless. Trailheads are along the ridges, rivers and lakes throughout Chelan County. You can take in some amazing views of the picturesque Alp-like Cascade Range that surrounds Leavenworth. Literally some of the best hiking the Pacific Northwest has to offer is right out our door.
Shopping:
The famous Bavarian town of Leavenworth is just minutes away. There are over 100 shops with a little something for everyone. Stores include international trade, food (chocolates, wine, cheese, bratwurst, etc.), art, clothes, and the unique!
Relaxing:
The lodge has 2 massive stone fireplaces to warm your feet. The hot tub is always ready to offer a relaxing dip year round. The sparkling aqua pool is an ideal place to float during our hot spring and summers.

We had a wonderful time at the Dirtyface lodge. Lots of fun things to do in the area, and plenty of space to spread out with our group. We enjoyed the pool area, too.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The pool was a hit with the kids; the kitchen was well stocked, & there were plenty of beds & baths. Private location close to the lake & river was a bonus too.

We hosted our annual summer retreat for our company at this location. There was plenty of space and the pool was lovely. A very well-furnished kitchen had all of the equipment we needed and was well stocked on spices and other cooking staples. Communication with the host was easy and she was flexible when we needed to reschedule (thank you, Margaret!). The check-out process was super easy. I would happily stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at Dirty Face Lodge with our extended family of 11. There were more rooms than we could use (10)! While there was plenty of room to spread out, it was also nice to have a common area for us all to come together and celebrate in the main lodge with the living room and dining room open to each other. Margaret was a wonderful host and responded to our needs promptly during our stay.

My son’s wedding was at Browns Family Homestead just a quick trip down the road. The access was super easy. Dirty Face Lodge is large and welcoming so people could stop by and visit with plenty of room. The friend doing flowers and the photographer stayed in the bunk house as we had plenty of bedrooms. I only wish we had not been so busy with the wedding that we could have enjoyed it more.

We did our 2nd annual Dads, Son's, and Friends weekend.
And have already booked for next year.
Such a beautiful area. So much to do,
Mother Nature at her best.
Wenatchee River rafting, Golfing, Fishing, Leavenworth, Wineries, Grand Coulee Dam, hiking.
Wintertime would include skiing, snowmobiling, Tubing.

The grounds were not top notch, but that may have been due to heavy winds before we arrived.
We were a group of 12 family members.

The listing was as presented and the host was very quick to respond and address questions and concerns. We enjoyed our time on our getaway even if it was too brief.

Property is about 25 minutes outside of Leavenworth. Close enough to head into town if you want but also tucked away in the beautiful mountains so it feels like you are at your own little retreat.
Houses were clean and very spacious. The baseboards in the bottom bedrooms did not work very well, so we had the fireplaces going all day and night, with fans directing the warm air toward the bedrooms. The well water had a really pungent smell to it, so it was off putting to some of our family we had with us. The upstairs is very creaky when walking around and we all found the beds to be very hard and uncomfortable. Not enough to deter us from returning, just maybe bring a foam topper or something.
Overall, it was an amazing house and we would definitely recommend it to everyone. Just a few things that we wished were different for the price being paid.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dirty Mountain! We loved the living room and kitchen/dining area where we spent so much time playing games and fixing meals. Such a nice touch to put up a Christmas tree. The bedrooms were lovely and accommodated our family. The hot tub was a very special treat as well. We would love to have the opportunity to stay there again. Thank you to Margaret for being so responsive when there was a little issue with a bathroom door. She responded quickly to correct the issue. So appreciate her communication!

Great mountain location not too far from Leavenworth. Plenty of space for family. Main house decorated cute for holidays:)
Could have been a but cleaner ( bathroom’s & bed linens clean)
Floors , refrigerator, couches still had remanence of past visitors :/ no sound to TV in main house & bedrooms on main floor did not have working heating.
Even with that said, it was still a pleasant stay for us all:) we will return again.

Very fortunate to of found a cabin to fit us all… Not to far out of Leavenworth, and a very lovely area. We felt well taken care of, and appreciated that they kept the driveway clear of snow. The hot tub, was nice and toasty… and in a beautiful setting. Also, They have every amenity, that you could ever need. We appreciated every detail. Thank you, for helping us feel at home.

We loved our stay here! Margaret was fantastic to work with, always responding promptly both before and during our stay. Even with warmer temperatures, the rooms stayed cool and comfortable thanks to the many beautiful trees shading the home. The private pool was amazing and perfect for our group of preschool-age up through teens and adults. The kitchen was large and well-stocked and had plenty of seating for all. What a lovely, historic property and home! We can't wait to come back.

This lodge is amazing. It had everything we needed for our classmate gathering. Communication with the owner was great. I will stay here again.

Great location. Lots of the rooms had king beds. Some had queens or a pair of twins. Really only 2 full baths in main lodge, plus half bath. Then guesthouse with two toilets and a very small shower stall room.
Kitchen was well stocked, with dishes utensils, and a few small electrical appliances. Second refrigerator in utility room was very helpful.
Main lodge dining and gathering room were bigger than expected. Pool was smaller, but kept 10 of us cool and entertained. Bring your own pool toys.
Rooms in guesthouse are all upstairs, with the 3 half baths down stairs.
Kid friendly with a highchair, several cribs and a pair of rocking horses, loved by the grandkids.
Several key areas including a bathtub - show excessive wear, beyond the rustic charm, but otherwise very clean overall and welcoming.

The lodge was a fun and unique experience for our 16th extended family get away. The teens loved having their own lodge & everyone enjoyed the pool and the jaccuzzi. The lake was a bit too windy to enjoy paddle boarding & kayaking but we had a fun time nevertheless playing games, grilling, hiking, and doing mini golf and the coaster in town.

We had a most wonderful stay at the Dirtyface Lodge! Our friends gathered from several states to play in the snow. The lodge was perfectly situated between Steven’s Pass and Leavenworth village. Love the Christmas decor and warm, cozy vibes. We had an amazing/magical/memorable reunion. Highly recommended!

Our party consisted of 5 couples. This house is perfect for a large group of couples to stay due to the amount of bedrooms. As my daughter would say the “vibe” was perfect, woodsy, fireplace, beautiful surroundings, large gathering place to hang out and talk. The proximity to Leavenworth was just right, quiet seclusion with a short drive to all the amazing shopping and food in town. Our whole party loved “Dirty Face Lodge”!

Christmas Trip
This property was amazing for our family Christmas trip! We loved the location - it was nice to be able to spend Christmas Eve in Leavenworth and not have to drive for hours to get there. The property was wonderful for playing in the snow - there was plenty of space outside to build snowmen and go sledding. Our only negative would be the water - it wasn't pleasant for drinking so we ended up using bottled water. Everything else was great!

This place is awesome. Lots of space, had everything we needed. Would definitely come back and recommend to others.

Post Christmas Getaway
Wonderful location close to sno park and short drive to Leavenworth & reindeer farm. Had so much fun at this huge cabin - used the hot tub while it was snowing. Massive fireplace heats the whole house.

Great Cabin Great Location
We held our annual Thanksgiving here with individuals flying in from out of town. This Cabin was great with 10 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. The Layout is great and allows for plenty of space for everyone to get together and enough beds for everyone.
The kitchen is stocked with anything and everything you could imagine. Two coffee pots are great to make sure there is fresh coffee all morning. Quick walk to the lake and just an FYI for timing - fresh rain and warmth allowed for us to get about 5 to 7 pounds of fresh mushrooms.
Hot tub was hot - be sure to bring outdoor slippers as the pine needles were everywhere.
We did have strong winds on the final morning which caused an issue. Margret called back in minutes responding to all concerns.
I would recommend this Cabin even if your not in need of 10 beds. The main house is 5 bedrooms.

50th Anniversary for Parents
WOW!! This place is simply amazing!!! So beautiful!! My in-laws 50th anniversary was coming up, and we have always had family reunions in Leavenworth. So we (all us kids) decided to pitch in for this lodge, which is big enough for our entire family. We haven't seen everyone, in close to a year because of COVID. So this was really special. The place is SO beautiful!! And a few of us, were saying this is the best supplied place, of any of the VRBO's places, we have stayed at in the past. The hot tub was so nice, next time, hopefully the pool will be open. Throw blankets galore!!!! And the movie collection!!!!! Was so awesome!! We were glad to see kid movies and books too, as we had a 3yr old and a 6 yr old (He was super sad when they left). We just had a great time, celebrating our parents 50th anniversary. None of us, wanted it to end. Oh and this morning, when we were taking the trash out, 2 groups of turkey's walked past!! That was super cool!! We definitely can't wait for our next visit. Highly recommend!!!

Amazing lodge!
Our stay here was perfect! We wished we could have stay longer. The lodge itself is great for a large group, so many bed options and enough bathrooms for all. Even on a rainy day we were so happy and cozy inside. There are many games and kitchen utensils you almost feel right at home. We were all amazed by the beautiful woodwork throughout the lodge. By far my most favorite Vrbo stay!

Fantastic Family Stay!
We all really loved this property! It was beautifully rustic, comfy cozy, unique and well laid out. The hot tub was VERY popular and used every day we were there. The kitchen was great--ample seating depending on how you were feeling (be it sitting at a proper dining table, hanging out on a stool, chilling at a little nook table, milling about, etc.) Yep, we loved it and hope to stay there again!!
