We had a wonderful experience with this listing. It is a rustic, chic, minimalist cottage perched on the edge of the Pacific. It has a fantastic view of Muir Beach and distant views of the entrance to San Francisco Bay; lights of the peninsula add a sparkle to the horizon. There is a REAL fireplace with REAL wood in the living area and bedroom. The hot tub has its own cliff edge sanctuary, protected from view and the direct sun by a beautiful coastal pine, yet close to the beauty and sound of the surf. It is the best hot tub view we have experienced! There is close and easy access to the beach. The bed is very comfortable and has the same ocean view as the living room. The owner has gone to great lengths to make the cottage warm, comfortable, and relaxing. And speaking of the owner, Sigward is an exceptional host - very solicitous of our needs and readily accessible to help in any way he can. His food recommendations were excellent- particularly FISH. In Sausalito. We cannot recommend this property too highly! Richard and Sherry

This home is perfect!! So warm and comfortable with a location that is second to none. Combine that with the surrounding environment and Sigward (Host) and you have the perfect getaway!!

Clean, old, but very nice…great ocean, beach view, very quiet…

This is an awesome location with a great view. We spent our time listening to music and watching the ships go in and out of the bay. My wife add I hiked to pirate cove and then relaxed in the hot tub while watching the waves. It was easy to get food to go from the pelican inn just down the street. Everything was clean and worked great. We will be back for sure. We have a full size truck and were able to make the parking work, but it was tough at first. I suggest taking a smaller car if you can.

Sigward’s cottage is a retreat that heals the soul. It slows down time and helps you refocus on what is important. Truly amazing and a blessing that he shares this place with us.

Off the beaten path and away from people and technology. This place sits high over the water and beach after a winding drive along the mountain. Not too far from mill valley which is a quaint little town with everything one might need as well. Close to redwoods too which is a must see if you never have(we never had). The house is simple and small, but what more do you need. Must bring anything you’d need for food, drink, condiments, water, etc.. no tv which you can look at as a positive or a negative. Bed definitely a little outdated, and tiny comforter. Wood fire places which I loved using. I loved sneaking down to the beach though, and checking out all the little critters, crabs, mussels, anemones. With the tide going in and out, lots of people and dog watching from the deck. Anyway, we hope to go back sometime for sure. Very unique experience as I stated in the title, perfect for my gfs bday getaway!

Great place surpassed only by the VIEW! Perfect spot for a retreat. It’s everything as described and more.

This oasis could not be more magnificent! I needed to hear the power of the ocean 24/7, and that’s what I got. It was a writing retreat for me. It is perfect for a single or couple. Clean. Bigger than I expected. Private. Stunning views.

We loved everything about Muir Beach. Communication with Sigward was efficient and friendly, the house is rustic with amazing views, the nearby hiking was icing on the cake!

if you want somewhere quiet and restful, this is definitely the place to be. I spent 4 days reading my books and listening to the sound of the surf on the beach below the house. The host was super nice. I loved it!

Clean, peaceful, easy access to the beach, and the view is unreal. We even spotted some porpoises swimming near the beach.

The photos do not do this place justice. From the moment you pull into the driveway, you are captivated by the incredible ocean views and the sound of waves. We spent a wonderful few days there and would definitely go back! Everything about checking out process, etc, was easy and Sigward is super nice! Watching the dogs play down on the beach was a total bonus. :)

Sigward’s home is truly the perfect place to stay for Muir Beach. The location is spectacular with incredible ocean and beach views. Hot tub is dreamy and it is an easy decent to the beach and quick drive to so many wonderful places. The accommodation is just what one needs-straight forward, clean, uncomplicated and wonderful. Sigward was incredibly gracious and all aspects of our stay were easy. Highly recommend, especially for a romantic couples getaway.

We loved this place and the location was amazing. Some highights - quick access to the beach, sleep to the sound of ocean waves, two fire places, hot tub that feels like it's in a treehouse overlooking the ocean, fun hikes - just a few of the things we loved about this beach house.

I could not have dreamt up a more perfect location for my solitary retreat- surrounded my nature and overlooking the ocean. The house itself is cozy and charming and had everything I needed for a tranquil, memorable time.

Sigward’s house was a dream. We will absolutely be back and hopefully for a longer stay. It was so hard to leave!

I booked this house for the last two days of our two week California adventure but didn't get to stay since the county in which this property lies instituted COVID-19 restrictions. I gave all excellent reviews because the owner was very accommodating when it came time to refund me for a stay that didn't happen. I received all monies back within a couple of weeks. The next time I'm on the West Coast, I look forward to staying here.
