Comfortable studio with all we needed, and more, on a quiet and beautiful farm/ estate. Fine homebase for North Kohala explorations!

This was much more than a residential rental and far beyond my expectations. It was an experience. In addition to a well appointed unit ideally suited to a single traveler or a couple was a beautiful, lush, well kept and managed country farm. Hens with little chicks scurrying across an expansive lawn, an occasional duck joining in, and a botanical depth hard to describe were all your view from the kitchen table. Stroll the grounds farther to view goats and the sheep.
The on-site host was welcoming and eager to share in the workings of the operation. The property was very easy to find, and also convenient to local stores, shops restaurants, and historical sites. I was sad to leave and would return in a heartbeat. Treat your self to this one.

Wonderful cottage on farm nearby historic sites. Nearby snorkeling at Mokukona and Spencer. Nice swimming and hanging out at Spencer and Hapuna. Not for everyone if you aren't looking for a quiet farm setting. It's home to world's sweetest dog, Sushi. Overall, 5 stars.

This was the perfect, cozy, safe spot for my daughter and I to stay during our spring break getaway. Thank you!

Quiet, comfortable, country retreat. Great home base to explore the North Kohala area. Peggy, our host took us on
a wonderful tour of their 25 acre farm and sent us off with some delicious avocados and herbs. We loved our memorable stay! ThanksPeggy!

We had such a wonderful stay! Peggy and Ken are warm, kind, good spirited people. Peggy surprised us with fresh Starfruit, avocados, apple bananas, and lilikoi. We never had Starfruit before and we were hooked, ate it everyday for breakfast. Their property is stunning and well maintained. We took a tour and met the goats, sheep, and cows.
My daughter fell in love with Suishi, their sweet and friendly dog.
Would definitely love to stay here again! Thank you for sharing your happy place with us.

We loved staying here! First of all, Peggy and Ken are incredibly warm and welcoming and such genuinely nice people. Peggy left us many snacks and other treats, and the unit is very private and feels like your own tiny cottage. The bedding and towels were older but cotton, and we were finally able to be comfortable (other places had polyester sheets that ran hot)! The location was excellent although very tricky to find and it's easy to miss the turnoff. We would definitely stay here again!

Very friendly and accommodating hosts, Peggy and Ken, arigato gozaimashita! The VRBO off the coastal road opens like a Shangri-La. It is close to the "high road" to Waimea and the coastal road towards Kona, great views both ways. Highly recommend.

Charming cottage looking out over a breathtaking manicured property. Peggy and Ken were the perfect hosts during our stay at the north end of the island. Conveniently located to restaurants and a grocery store. We highly recommend.

We stayed 5 days and enjoyed being in this northern part of the Island and meeting Peggy, who showed us around the farm, and shared a few of their farm fresh products from the goats and chickens. The location was great for exploring Hawi, Waimea, and the Kohala coast for beaches and historical places. We stayed in 4 different areas of the Big Island, and each area has a different vibe. It wasn’t as “touristy” here, and there were some very nice galleries, shops, and restaurants. Also there’s a grocery store directly across the street from this property, so very convenient. We did fix some meals here and we had what we needed in the small kitchen. We enjoyed our stay and would like to return someday. You’ll experience some real Hawaiian life that you won’t get in a hotel.

Peggy and Ken are wonderful host! The property and location were exactly as expected! The singing frogs at night were just so relaxing. Look forward to visiting Cozy Corner in the near future. This is a must stay property.

We had a wonderful visit here. The hosts Peggy and Ken were amazing, friendly, and made us feel at home. Peggy even brought over homemade jam, bread, cheese, and a couple of slices of birthday cake during our stay. The property is quiet and beautiful. The cottage is well-maintained and private. It is also well within reach of many amazing Big Island beaches. We would stay here again!

We had a wonderful visit here. The host Peggy is very sweet and helpful. We were very comfortable and the property is stunning. Do yourself a favor and wake up early and have breakfast outside! She has plenty of extra things to make your trip easier like beach towels, chairs, umbrellas and even some snorkeling stuff. She also had some guavas (I’m now obsessed) and eggs that we were happy to have. The property is like an apartment style attached to her garage. We didn’t see the hosts besides arrival and departure so we felt very private. We would stay here again and possibly buy it if it was on the market! It’s beautiful!

7/7-8/23 We stayed at this clean, comfortable, and charming studio cottage to be close to our niece’s wedding in Niuli’i. The sounds of the coqui frogs, light rain, and cool breeze lulled us to sleep. The view of the yard from the picture window each morning was relaxing, too. Peggy was friendly and accommodating the moment she greeted us upon arrival. She offered eggs from her chickens and fruit from her trees. On our final morning, Peggy brought over freshly baked breakfast cookies and two types of papaya. What a delightful surprise that was! Given the opportunity, we would definitely stay again. Thank you for sharing a piece of your tranquil paradise!

My husband and I spent 5 days on the Big Island prior to going to a family reunion on Maui.
We participated and enjoyed the following activities on the north end of the island: King Kamehameha I Day (was within walking distance of the ceremony/statue), aikido (Aikido of Kohala), hiking, and snorkeling.
Our hosts, Peggy and Ken, were excellent. Present if we needed anything but not intrusive. Beautiful property.

We enjoyed our stay at this property. It was well located for sightseeing on this part of the island and near to dining and shopping. The grounds were delightful and hidden from the main road. Peggy was gracious, accommodating and helpful. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

We have been to the Big Island many times, but it was our first stay in Kapua. It won’t be our last! We had a quiet peaceful stay on Peggy and Ken’s beautiful farm. They were such gracious, kind people that shared food and farm tales. It’s such a peaceful place to unwind, would highly recommend.

The hosts, Peggy and Ken, were delightful and made us feel so welcomed during our 4 week stay. The little suite was really quite nice and totally functional given its compactness. We
recommend this listing for anyone wanting to enjoy the Big Island while staying away from the congestion of Kailua Kona city. Highpoints of the trip are many but meeting Peggy and Ken has got to be the top of that list.

We received a recommendation from our neighbor for the farm and we are so glad we booked our stay. Peggy was so very welcoming and informative; we so enjoyed the area and the fresh squeezed OJ. We will book a future visit!

We loved this tranquil farm setting hear Hawi in the northern Kohala region of the big island. And our hosts were super hospitable and helpful. The roomy studio had everything we needed and was also cutely decorated and very clean. We'll definitely recommend to others and likely come back here ourselves on our next Hawaii adventure!

Great location to explore North end of island! Friendly hosts let you walk the grounds and pick fresh fruit. Grocery store right across the street. Space was clean and well stocked with kitchen utensils, appliances, etc. Very quiet area with lovely views of the grounds from the studio. Would stay again.

We loved our stay at the Cozy Corner Cottage on Kappau Gulch Farms! Peggy was a wonderful host and greeted us, provided a binder with local eats and maps, and a fully stocked cottage. The property is directly across from a local grocery store, as well as a 5 minute drive to Hawi or Kappau. There are great restaurants in either town, and there is the opportunity to see the sunrise over the Polulu Valley, as well as hike down to the black sands beach and up the trail, if you enjoy a steady climb as long as it's dry!
The cottage is exactly as pictured with a full kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom in a studio separate from the host's house and attached to the garage, though you'd never know and this would not have deterred us from staying. We had fresh fruit and tea made on the farm and also had a lovely farm tour from Peggy.
We highly recommend this cottage to anyone who wants a full immersion of the Big Island, living like a local, and wants some peace and quiet! We'll be back again!

It was a treat to stay at Peggy and Ken's lovely studio in Kapaau. One of their other guests described it as "way cuter in person than the pictures can express" and I agree! I can't remember the last time I felt so taken care of by hosts -- especially great for us as we don't get to come to Hawaii often and love learning more about the island. The grounds and gardens that Peggy and Ken have created really add to the experience, and Hawi, Waimea, Pololu Valley, etc. are all a stone's throw away. Definitely recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend. Lush surroundings, an island breeze and welcoming hosts made for a perfect getaway. The studio has a beautiful bay window that makes mornings magical.

Exquisite property - a perfect place to slow down and get in touch with nature. It is immaculate with a comfortable bed and everything needed for a couple to stay comfortably - we stayed for 10 days and couldn’t have been happier. It is an easy walk into Hawi and a short car jaunt along the coast to to Spencer’s Park Beach and it’s trail to the other major beaches. The owner was kind, informative, attentive and never intrusive! Highly recommend and we hope to stay there again!

Peggy is so welcoming, and her home and its surroundings is so peaceful, cozy, and just so comfortable. Peggy is a best host ever - she makes the most amazing tea, she surprised us with flowers at our door, and she even sent us home with some goodies!
My sister and I fell in love with her place, and we will definitely be staying there when were in Kapaau.
