Perfect location in Athens and close to Five Points! The house is located in a really nice, safe neighborhood. We walked every morning to Five Points and down Milledge Avenue. The house has two kitchens, which was nice for our large group. We didn’t spend much time in the house, but when we were there, we congregated in the ground floor kitchen. The host responded quickly to our messages and was easy to work with! We had a great time!

Great spot! Cool eclectic home. Outdoor area a 10. Dining room table huge. Plenty of nooks for a “break” from the family! Huge TV in family room with lots of seating area. Might could add one more bed in the basement bedroom, but this house has room plenty of space! Owner/manager incredibly helpful. Couldn’t have been easier check in or question answered. All good!

Love the house. As soon as you walk in you feel right at home. We had a full schedule during the day visiting family- but it was great for the morning coffee/breakfast.. and the perfect retreat for the evening once we got back to the house.
Would stay there again - hopefully we will have the opportunity at the next family reunion.

Family comfort
My family stayed at John’s place while in Athens for a family memorial service. Though it was a difficult time for us, being able to be together and even have additional family members over to visit was such a comfort. The space was perfect for us, from the cozy beds, to the well-stocked kitchens, to the wonderful outside spaces. Thank you so much for opening your home to us. It was such a blessing for our family. ❤️

Lots of space
This home had plenty of space to spread out as well as many seating areas. Great for a large group. There are 2 kitchens. One on each floor. We had several young children with us so we used the upstairs dining table for most meals since the downstairs dining table had high barstools to sit on. We had a nice time with family

Perfect Weekend in Athens
We rented this house so that I could work at the UGA game, and bring my family to Athens with me. The weekend rental allowed us to relax as a family without me having to commute to and from Atlanta. I brought my husband and 7-year-old son. Our son LOVED the special touches in the house and especially the backyard and secret cubby in the basement den. We ordered take out from Fully Loaded Friday night. Saturday we wandered around 5 points and enjoyed Jittery Joes and the Bakery. We walked through the Memorial Park Zoo, then met friends on North Campus for a Chick Fil-A picnic. I worked Saturday night at the game while my husband and son picked up Barberitos. Sunday morning, we ended our stay with a long run for my husband, and a hike through the Birchmore Nature Trail then drove home. The house is spotless and we loved the Ralph Lauren store-like decor. Would love to know who the decorator is! Clearly, this is a home that hosts wonderful gatherings. We were so happy to be there and would do it again!

Would absolutely stay again! With one caveat...
We were a group of 9 staying in Athens for a wedding. Jon was great to work with and provided loads of useful information ahead of our stay. The house is as described - clean, fully equipped, and quite unique! The backyard was particularly impressive and I wish we had more time to enjoy it. We had one issue, however, that I feel future guests should know about. The information we were given about how to access the house was outdated, and we were unable to get into the house upon our arrival at ~10pm at night. I called Jon four times with no answer. Eventually we were able to get in to the house - otherwise we would have had to stay at a hotel for the night. Jon contacted me the next morning and apologized, stating that he was out of the country and had just received my messages. I feel that it would have been appropriate for him to have alerted me prior to our stay that he would be difficult to get in touch with, and perhaps provide a local backup contact. OVERALL WE LOVED OUR STAY and would rent this house again, but I hope communication will be better next time!

Great time in Athens, GA!
A team of six chose to stay at this property while doing work at the medical center at UGA rather than being spread out over multiple hotel rooms. It was a great decision! There was plenty of space to work by ourselves or sit together, comfortable beds and furniture, wash/dryer and 2 kitchens. One of our favorite spots was the outdoor fire pit where we'd gather at the end of the day and just enjoy relaxing and being together. We'd definitely stay here again.

Perfect for Graduatiin
John’s house was perfect to celebrate my daughter’s graduation from UGA Vet School. The house is so large with so many different living spaces that we could entertain family/friends (not all rated with us) and be the central meeting place to meet for meals and fellowship. It was so nice not to have to find restaurants large enough and nice enough to accommodate all our various gatherings. We cooked out on the grill for one dinner, and that was so nice. The 2nd kitchen with a 2nd refrigerator sure came in handy! Being able to have different rooms for staging different things was so handy. We didn’t have to constantly climb over luggage etc as we would in a hotel. And John has so many plates, cups, cooking utensils, etc that I didn’t need to bring anything. Also, it is a perfect location to get to UGA quickly. And the main living room was such a nice comfy spot to gather and relax. And the den (did I mention there are a lot of rooms?) was a nice spot to gather to. watch tv and visit. Others could sit in the little balcony and have tea. We got to meet John, too, and he is very friendly and reactive to anything we needed! When we go back for a football game, this will be a great gathering place for that, too!

Awesome house with a ton of character
John's house was one of the more unique places we've ever stayed in. It was perfect for hosting a crowd for our wedding. Earlier in the week, there was an issue with one of the bathrooms, and John bent over backwards to make sure it was repaired in time for our guests. We will definitely be back.

They loved the outside area as well. They only wish they had had more time to enjoy it.
Jon was an incredible host. He was very responsive and helpful. Very easy to communicate with.

We rented the house for us and several family members for our daughter's wedding in Athens.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Large bedrooms, great kitchen and dining amenities. The grandchildren really enjoyed the Hobbit Hole bedroom.
The house is very 'homey', where we felt relaxed and enjoyed our friends and family like we were in our own home.

Completely accommodating and welcoming!
Our family was in Athens for our daughter's wedding weekend. The house was a wonderful place to come home to in between events and also to entertain other family members. There are so many areas to relax in and so comfortable. The two kitchens were beyond complete with everything we could have ever needed!! Due to inclement weather, we never got to venture into the backyard but there are so many great gathering and grilling areas there. And, this review wouldn't be complete without mentioning the Christmas decorations! What an amazing surprise and so much fun for a December wedding! Not to mention the tallest tree we have ever seen in the den - it will be a family conversation piece for years to come!!! Thank you and Merry Christmas!

Beautiful house in a quiet neighborhood. Very convenient location to enjoy Athens.
We had a women’s retreat with six ladies. This house was a perfect choice for us. Beautifully furnished! The location was excellent to get into Athens. The Five Points area is a quaint area to walk around. We ate at a fabulous restaurant calledThe Expat in Five Points!! Delicious food and drinks! We highly recommend this house for your next visit to Athens.

Wedding weekend family trip
Very interesting and eclectic house. Plenty of room for 6 adults and 3 children with a bedroom to spare. Two kitchens was a huge plus. Beautifully furnished, everyone loved it. Carpeting showed wear and tear, understandably. The home is not used exclusively as a rental so the downsides were no room to store clothing, and the refrigerators were stocked with the owners food so we had to point out to the kids which shelves they could get food from. Also, the master bathroom was the only one with a working lock. The downstairs half bath/laundry has a hook to close the bifold doors that offers no privacy as a couple of us found out. Middle bathroom door lock upstairs doesn’t work. Work around is to announce “occupied” loudly. Unfortunately it had rained for several days before our stay so the back yard was very overgrown and not usable as a hangout and part of the fence was down in the back (could have been storm related, giving the benefit of the doubt) so we weren’t able to let our dogs run free. Having said that, if the food in the 2 refrigerators were consolidated to 1 so the other could be used without restrictions, bathroom door locks fixed, fence repaired, and back yard manicured, we would be happy to stay again. There were plenty of clean linens and washer and dryer worked great and the kitchens and living spaces were lovely.
