Lovely place, perfect location
This lovely, self-contained cottage is perfectly located, a few minutes walk from two lakes, Florida Southern College, downtown Lakeland, the public library and the best coffee shop in town. The neighborhood is beautiful and friendly. The host was super helpful and accommodating. We definitely plan to stay here again when we return to Lakeland.

Winter Getaway
The location is perfect—near downtown, but a quiet neighborhood, easy to get to north Lakeland or south Lakeland. Karen is right there with an answer to any questions, if there are any. The internet and the smart TV worked well. It was comfortable. Having the laundry machines there with a long stay was wonderful. And we appreciated the snacks and drinks when we arrived.

Overall Great Experience!
The house and neighborhood were exactly as described. My son and I really appreciated the personal touches- the phone call from Karen with final details, the water and snacks and extra towels following some rainy lacrosse games! We will definitely stay again in 2020!

Perfect place!
We loved this cottage! It's in a great location and is just the perfect place for a couple. Lovely furnishings and absolutely wondeful linens and towels. The bed was the most comfortable we've ever slept on. The location was within walking distance of several restaurants as well as Lake Morton and Florida Southern Unvirsity, home of the largest number of Frank Lloyd Wright structures in the world. We didn't have a car so the location was an easy pick-upspot for rides via Lyft. The beverages in the refrigerator and the snack in the kitchen were such nice - and unexpected - surprises. We'll be back!

Swans, Pelicans and Tigers, oh my
I give Lake Morton Cottage 5 stars. I was surprised to find the supplied with snacks, chocolates and drinks. Karen makes sure you are welcomed. The cottage is tastefully decorated and as stated, well supplied. Located in the Historic district was a plus. I could easily walk the neighborhood, see the swans nesting on Lake Morton and ride my bike to the Detroit Tiger spring training games. I highly recommend the Frank Lloyd Wright walking tour of Florida Southern University, located one block away. Another highlight was Lake Parker Park's walking trails.

Great location Perfect for 2 people
My daughter and I spent 4 nights at the cottage It was great Karen had provided some special treats. We also liked that there was washer and dryer so we left with clean clothes for the remainder of our trip. I would recommend the cottage to anyone looking for a place to stay in Lakeland.

Time away from the cold
The cottage was very nice for two people—a well supplied kitchen, comfortable recliner in the living area with a huge TV, a very comfortable bed. There is no space in the kitchen cabinets for food storage. It went on the counter or the table. There were no drawers for clothing, but a few “cubbies” in the closet area. The owners were very good to respond quickly to texts or calls asking questions or dealing with a couple of small problems. The location is within walking distance to Lake Morton and Lake Hollingsworth. We enjoyed sitting on Lake Morton and watching the many swans and water birds. Florida Southern University is only a block away with all the Frank Lloyd Wright architecture. It is easy access to north or south Lakeland. We will definitely go back if we are in the area again.

Cute and cozy!
Everything was wonderful! Great location. The only thing I would recommend is extra pillows. Most places have 2 per person. We searched high and low for some but couldn’t seem to locate any extra. But besides that it was an amazing staying!

Small but cozy
This is a great little place to be for access to local sites. The setting is in a historic neighborhood. Despite the rain, we found it to be a short drive to the places we wanted to visit. The bed and bath were good but too much time inside made us realize the furniture was a bit stiff. The owners were available and timely in responding to questions and for troubleshooting. Be aware of an insurance policy that is required purchase before booking. All in all we would recommend the cottage to others wanting to stay in the area.

I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to vacation and chill. Tiny home does not feel that way and we loved it!!

Sweet little cottage in a beautiful residential neighborhood!
My daughter, 15 mo. old granddaughter and I so enjoyed our stay in the Lake Morton cottage! It's beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for our stay. The property owner, Karen, was very thoughtful (snacks and drinks in the fridge, coffee, tea and creamer for the coffee maker, and other much appreciated extras! ) and accommodating (flexible with check in and out times to accommodate baby's out of whack nap schedule). We enjoyed the swans and other birds at Lake Morton just down the street, and the children's museum in historic downtown Lakeland-a five minute drive away. We plan to return to this area and would love to stay in the Lake Morton cottage!

Charming cottage in fabulous neighborhood
We came to Lakeland in early March to catch a couple of Detroit Tiger spring training games. What we found was a charming cottage in the Lake Morton district of Lakeland. While there we were able to attend the local house and garden tour. The housing in this area was mostly built between 1900 and 1930. It is going through a process of gentrification. It is a walking neighborhood with a number of good restaurants close by, a very good local art museum, a beautiful local college campus and several lakes. The locals we met were friendly and welcoming to outside visitors.
The cottage was spotlessly clean, quiet and well appointed. You could easily cook a full dinner in the kitchen, although we chose to eat out while on vacation. There is a pullout futon that doubles as a couch. While possible, having more than two people staying here would seem a bit cramped to us.
Karen the owner was very communicative and was kind enough to leave us a Detroit Tigers baseball cap. We would definitely recommend this cottage to a friend and hopefully will be back next year.

Classic Cottage
If we could give this cottage TEN stars, believe me, we would. Absolutely stunning place! Filled with wonderful amenities. Drinks in the refrigerator, coffee, tea, and too many items to mention, all provided. Beautiful well-thought out design. Peaceful neighborhood, short walk to a tranquil lake. We have stayed in many places, from New Orleans, to Tybee Island. This one was the best! Karen, thank you! We just want to stay and live here! We will definitely be back!
