About this house rental

Our house is located on the Mesa, the nicest part of Salida. The location is great for walking to downtown Salida, the Arkansas River, the Salida Golf Club, bike paths and parks. More than 3,100 ft2 of space to enjoy. You’ll love our house because of the peaceful neighborhood, closeness to town, ample space, mountain views, and outdoor decks. This is a family-oriented rental and the property can comfortably accommodate two families or a large extended family. The fenced yard is perfect for little children to safely play. The3 house has DirecTV service. If you have a smaller family / group and will use only a portion of the house, we are happy to discuss a reduced rate that reflects this. The main floor has two bedrooms which sleep 4. Just let us know and we can work out the details.
The bedding for the home is as follows:
Master Bedroom: King (main level)
First Bedroom: Two (2) Twin (main level)
Second Bedroom: Queen (lower level)
Third bedroom: One (1) Twin, Bunk-bed with One (1) Full and One (1) Twin (lower level)
Sofa-Sleeper: Queen (lower level)

You won't need your car -- just 4 blocks to Safeway and 6 blocks to F Street. The house has high-speed Internet (300+) with the latest and fastest router technology.

The main floor has a master bedroom with king bed, two closets and full on-suite bathroom. The master ceiling was hand-painted by an artist from Santa Fe. She spent 4 weeks on her back painting the scene.
The second bedroom on the main level has two twin beds and a large closet with a dresser. There is a full bath on the main level.
The lower level has two more bedrooms, one with a queen bed and including a chaise lounge for relaxing. The second has a bunk bed (full & twin) and a separate twin bed. There is a family room also downstairs with a large office space, queen sleeper sofa, smart flat 60" screen TV. You can access Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon Prime are available (with your subscription).
The main level has full-size laundry appliances, dining room (table seats 6), kitchen with large breakfast bar plus a second table with seating for 4. The main level family room has plenty of seating and includes a flat screen with DirecTV service (all ESPN, NFL, FS1, MLB, HGTV) -- more than 175 channels and Fire stick for streaming. There is also a Bluetooth receiver and center speaker, front speakers and sub-woofer which provide excellent sound for movies, TV watching and listening to music. The deck is off the kitchen and has two levels and a 4-burner natural gas grill with views of "S" Mountain and the surrounding hills. The kitchen is complete with everything you need including a Keurig brewer and drip coffee maker.. The large attached garage has great space for all your gear.
Our house is a premier residence with very nice finishes, furniture and details. It's located on the Mesa in Salida -- the best area of town.

Stayed here twice now and will stay again. Great house, tons of room, and a great garage for bikes. Great host and fast communications (not that we needed to communicate a lot because everything went smoothly).

My girlfriends and I (9 of us) spent a long weekend to celebrate birthdays in Salida. The home was lovely and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much. Tom is an awesome host!!

This is a clean and lovely place to stay. It is in a quiet area that is close to downtown and the golf course. Great place to be if you want to walk or ride bikes. We especially liked the garage where we could safely store our bikes, chairs etc. Two bathrooms are upstairs and one is downstairs. Some rentals are not very clean but this one top notch. Thanks.

We really enjoyed our stay at The House in the Mesa! LOTS of space to spread out, great location, and the kitchen comes completely stocked with anything and everything that you may need. Our big family group (11 people) loved our stay at this house and in Salida. The house had plenty of room for everyone to spread out and sleep comfortably. The kids loved the toys and books and overall had a blast. And the location cannot be beat. Overall, an A+ stay!!

This house has a great location and is close all the awesome things Salida has to offer. The house also seems to be magic as it’s much larger on the inside than it looks when you drive up. It was also well stocked with so many small things you tend to forget like ziplock bags, pens/markers, miscellaneous kitchen items and bathroom items. Very happy with our stay.

This house met all of our needs. It was very neat and clean, which in my opinion is the most important feature. It was a very close walk to town, which was another plus for our group. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!

We stayed in this Salida home for a long weekend during our Spring break in March. It was great for 2 families with 4 adults / 5 kids, plenty of room for everyone. Only a 5-10 minute walk to downtown Salida and all the restaurants, galleries, and shops. The top notch mountain biking trails were only minutes away. We also skied at Monarch which is a short/easy 25 minute drive, this lovely ski area is smaller then most in summit county / Vail, but no lift lines or traffic! The home was very clean and well equipped in a quiet residential neighborhood. The star gazing was amazing and we even saw a bunch of deer roam through the yard. We want to come back in the summer and go rafting on the Arkansas.

We stayed here while skiing at Monarch with family. This house had lots of room, and a nice floor plan. The basement was nice for the kids to have a place to play. It was great to have access to the garage, we kept our skis, boots, and poles in it at night. The house was clean, and had everything we needed from towels to bedding to dishes. It is in a nice quiet neighborhood. We will definitely stay here again. Thank You

Two families with 6 kids from 5-15 years old stayed in this awesome house. We cooked in most nights and it was just the best place to relax after hitting monarch mountain. Kitchen full stocked. Plenty of things for the kids to do. But mostly just super clean and comfortable. Would love to visit again. My only desire was to have the rental agreement incorporated into the homeaway app somehow as I had to find a business center to print and return to the owner.

We had 2 small families on a ski vacation and it worked well for us. It had plenty of room inside and out. It was clean and very well stocked. There was enough seating for us all in the dining and living rooms. It was in a good location to walk to restaurants and grocery store. I highly recommend the little red hen bakery and moonlight pizza! The only negatives I can think of are that the fridge makes a ton of noise occasionally and sounds like it’s about to die, the baseboard heat at night is VERY LOUD (it creaked and ticked so much it woke us up several times a night-at least in the twin bedroom. It was not something I noticed in the common areas) and we didn’t find the mattresses very comfortable in the twin and king rooms but realize that is a personal preference. The one time I contacted the owner he was very easily reachable and quickly responsive. Overall a good place to stay

The house was very clean and had plenty of room for all, Lots of daily household items were provided.. Downtown and a main state highway are close.. Deck area was a nice bonus. I would recommend this property to anyone who enjoys family gatherings.

Fantastic Stay

We had a wonderful time at this lovely home. Several of us were attending the Salida Fiber Festival over the weekend and this was the perfect place for us. Not only was it within walking distance of the River Park but within a few blocks of great restrautents and the grocery store. The quiet neighborhood allowed us to destress in the evening while knitting on the beautiful back deck. The house was tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. We are planning on staying there again next year.

This house is really nice, clean, and spacious. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need. Everything is updated and in great shape. It is also very close to downtown Salida which is great. The garage is also big allowing for keeping bicycles safe and camping equipment dry. We had a great time and will definitely choose this house again if we need plenty of space.

We enjoyed our family reunion here. The layout was great for toddlers and adults! Location was excellent , easy walk to town. The deck was a nice feature as well. The house is well stocked with everything you might need! The owner , Tom, was a pleasure with whom to do business. He was attentive to our questions and very cooperative! We hope to be back.
