About this house rental
Thank you for your interest in Camp Willow and our rustic cabins! We have 2.5 acres of lakefront property, cottonwood trees to sit under, a fire pit to hang out around, and canoes & kayaks for your recreation.
It is a very quiet, peaceful neighborhood setting-away from all the crowds.
Our Camp House is a casual lake house. It is the original farmhouse built on the property that I have renovated but it is still a quaint, eclectic house. We are pet friendly. It is 3 bedroom/2 bath and sleeps 10 people. It includes a wonderful deck on the front that overlooks the water, patio furniture, bbq grill. Washer and dryer in house. House is fully furnished with all bed & bath linens and kitchen utensils/dishes/pots/etc. Nicely decorated in a nautical/fishing motif. Comfortable and rustic casual.
We are located within 5-10 minutes of Schlitterbahn, the Comal River, the Guadalupe River, Gruene Hall and Wurstfest. Texas Ski Ranch is 20 min away and offers wakeboarding, axe throwing, eating, live music, special events& more. Each of our accommodations comes with free passes to the Texas Ski Ranch. Passes include either free 2 hrs of wakeboarding or 1 hour of axe throwing. Enjoy!
A great place for families and reunions. We have a launching ramp on site so bring your jet ski's or boat.
Also 2 cottages (sleep 6each)
We also have the Red house that sleeps 8.
So the entire property can sleep 38.

The house and property we as advertised. It had a relaxing lake cabin feel. The grounds were well maintained and the house was clean. My 12 yr old granddaughter enjoyed the site as much as her grandparents did. We would definitely stay again.

As someone who recently had the pleasure of staying at this lakefront property, I cannot recommend it enough for large families seeking a getaway.
Set on two acres of land, the property features four private houses, providing ample space for our family our 16 and our beloved canine companions. We were thrilled to have the entire place to ourselves, ensuring privacy and an undisturbed retreat.
The property manager had Fourth of July decorations everywhere and kayaks and tubes were ready to go. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and overall well-maintained condition. The older architecture added a charming touch and creating a cozy atmosphere throughout our stay.
Now, let's talk about the main attraction—the breathtaking lakefront setting. Although the dam had collapsed in the past, the water levels have made an impressive recovery, allowing us to enjoy kayaking and swimming once again. The joy of being able to kayak on the tranquil waters again was enjoying. We have stayed here for family trips in the past and seeing the lake back was exciting and can only look forward to more lake improvements to come.
What truly sets this property apart is the exclusivity it offers. No interference from the general public, we had the privilege of enjoying the entire lakefront space to ourselves. It truly felt like our own private slice of paradise, where we could fully immerse ourselves. We will be back.

Older house needs work. No access to the water overgrown and not well kept. No floating dock as depicted. It will be better I guess when the lake is full again.

House was a total disappointment
The house had bug beds, everyone got bit and had to fumigate our belongings. The house could have been nice, but it was failing apart. Almost like they wanted to renovate but quit midway. House was pretty dirty too. Dead bugs everywhere. Definitely not worth the price. I’m not one to write reviews especially not bad ones or really care but this was a complete disappointment.

Great weekend
We had a wonderful stay. All of our adult children and their kids want to make this a manual stay. The property outside was perfect for kids to run and play, plenty of shade to find during the day. House had plenty of beds, and kitchen well stocked.

Disappointing Family Weekend
We’ve stayed at a number of rentals over the years and had really good success. Unfortunately we were disappointed with this cabin for several reasons. There was a musty smell upon entering the cabin. The pictures did not show the bedrooms didn’t have doors, and that you had to enter one bedroom to get to another bedroom. The primary bedroom didn’t have curtains on the windows so no privacy and too much light in the early morning. The 2nd kitchen table was missing which would have been a problem if we had all 9 family members as intended, but 3 got sick and could not come so 1 table was sufficient At dinner on night 1, we discovered lots of sugar ants invading our dinner at the kitchen table. We opened the dishwasher only to find a horrendous mildew smell. The dishwasher definitely needs to be replaced. We were also disappointed with the 2 tv’s in the cabin. The one in the living room was so small and the one in the primary bedroom did not work at all. We couldn’t believe the caulking job throughout the cabin as it looked like a kindergartner’s work. The outdoors was nice except you could not see the lake for the trees that have grown in the lake since the dam broke. We made the most of the situation and enjoyed our family time; however, I would not return to rent this cabin.

Bachelorette Party
Upon arrival was greeted by the house cleaning lady. She was friendly enough. She showed us around and pointed out where things were located. The place was not very clean. The floors were very dirty and the dishes were even worse. The furniture is very dirty as well. They was rat poo in the bottom cabinets where the pots and pans are. Most of the pans were EXTREMELY dirty and had rust on them. The refrigerator didn't cool at all..... This was very frustrating because we had cupcakes for our party and groceries that needed to be in the refrigerator. I did message them and let them know and asked if they could provide a cooler. They never responded. The pictures are very very deceiving... However the property was very nice and was located in a perfect location. They stayed in contact with me (until I messaged about the fridge) and even let me check in 2 hours early and only stay one night instead of 2. The house was large enough for our party and we had a nice time. As for returning I will not.

Further away from Guadalupe river floating
When booking, discussed about location and was told 10 min away from floating. This was very inaccurate. This place is about 30 min away for anyone interested. Great place, just wasn’t expecting extra drive after all day on river.

Cabin review
We had a wonderful stay! 6 of us (3 couples) all fit comfortably and spent most of our time on the porch! The kitchen has all of the pots, pans, and utensils. We brought our own spices and seasonings from home.
Michaela recommended Rockin R for a shuttle service. They will transport to and from the house BUT you have to make reservations 2-3 days in advance.
We had great communication with Michaela all weekend. She answered all of our questions in a timely manner.
We would definitely stay here again!

Overall great place!
The pictures didn't give us a clear idea of the property so we took a gamble with getting this place. This place is actually quite a bit bigger than the pictures make it seem. We had four families that stayed here with a dog, and everybody was comfortable with plenty of space. Property has a great area to just sit around and hang out at which was perfect for us. The water was also extremely nice, and it was even better with the new dock they added. Overall, thumbs up!

Not COVID clean
Rough conditions (exposed nails, irregular steps/ floor surfaces, dishwasher tilts - impossible To load & unload safely). Pictures are very outdated. Window Curtains missing. Day bed in front porch missing. layout of entire house is strange, have to walk thru two bedrooms to get to one of the bathrooms. In reflection, nightly rate is very high for low quality of the rental. Step up into one of the bathrooms. Kitchen cookware & dishware VERY used, all should be replaced.

Overall the property was as expected with one exception. One of the showers was not functional.
This was a family weekend with our children and grandchildren. The outdoor areas were a great gathering place in the evening.

Thanks guy's we all had a great time. Maria was great and very helpful with local info. Our elderly dog Willow also had a great time at Camp Willow and perked up upon arrival with all the new smells. An 89 year old Grandma rode the tube shoot. And memory's where made that will be with us forever.
Thanks again guy's We will be back.

Perfect Cabin for Larger Families
This was our first time to stay at Camp Willow. We stayed in the larger grey cabin, as we have a big family. The cabin is just that...a cabin on a lake. You're going to have bugs. It's not the Four Seasons. The beds were comfy and clean, the pull-out couch didn't hold the mattress in place and it slowly sank to the floor...we laughed it off and two kids took the couches as beds...no biggie. Plenty of kitchen items to use. Plenty of space for eating with large family and game space. The view was fantastic and the fire pit was awesome! Some of the pics leading up to the lake area are older, so know that there is a path leading to a really nice swimming dock. Huge yard for games and fun. Quiet and peaceful. About a 20 min drive to tube rentals. Owner was quick to respond. One of my kids left a computer in the cabin and the owner is having the housekeeper look for it to send to us...super nice about it and we are hoping to get it back soon. Would rent again!

Perfect place for family getaway!
I booked this gray cabin and the red cabin next to it for a family getaway. It was just perfect for a weekend on the lake! This cabin easily fits 8 people and can fit more if you’re willing to sleep on pullouts. It’s not fancy and a little wonky but it’s a cabin on the lake after all and it had everything we needed. We can’t say enough about the property outside - it’s fantastic and where we spent the majority of our time grilling, playing frisbee, kids catching fireflies and making s’mores! Thor was very accommodating and answered my calls/texts for every random question. Thanks for the wonderful memories we will definitely be back!

We love the property and the lake
We have stayed at Thor and Courtney's properties several times now. If you are looking for fancy decorations and condo type space this is not it. But if you are looking for down home property with fantastic views and extras like Kayaks for the kids (and adults) and peace and quiet then this is your spot. Comes fully furnished all you have to bring is food, towels and the family. You can forget about the world for a few days and just let the kids be kids and make a lot of memories. There is a huge firepit for smores and barbecue grills for dinners at the picnic tables. Maria is wonderful and always make a point to come by and check on you. Thor is great to deal with. We will definitely be back.

This was the perfect place for my trip. Fairly private, waterfront property
This place was great. 6 guys went up from Houston to float the river, grill out, and have beer by the fire. Comfortable beds, place isn’t too fancy but nice. Perfect for a guys trip. The owner was super cool and easy to work with. We will 100% try to rent this exact house again

Over all it was a beatiful and peaceful stay
We would stay again... It was such beautiful lakeview area and very peaceful. Loved the firepit area by the lake. The house had everything we needed for cooking and was cozy. The only issue was the AC window units wasn't enough to cool all areas and no doors to the bedrooms.

Very nice area to enjoy the water and a view with plenty of room outside house's foundation was a little lacking and there were a few insects but all in all very enjoyable

Great cabin and location. Would have really enjoyed getting to stay without other things to do, but that was the purpose of the trip.

view was pretty house was not
The pictures online are not what the house looks like now. They were probably taken 10-20 years ago. Only 1 bedroom had a door others had curtains. No privacy and rooms don't stay cool from air conditioners because there are no doors. There were rats and cock roaches. Exterminaters came twice. Simple things to make place look clean would of been to hose down the deck and outside table that had cob webs every where. Dead bugs in light fictures exhaust fan over stove had grease and dust on it and so on and so on. Owners do not want to put any $ into it and just want to make money. 2 people in our group got sick 1 got bacterial infection, could of been from rat poop which was in silverware drawer and on counter.

Beautiful yard, house needs work.
The yard is lovely. The cottage had nice linens and plenty of space. We did see a spider on the bed and 3 cockroaches. The unit could have been cleaned better even though it is advertised rustic. Did not think the cleaners did much more than change linens. The hosts are great.

Beautiful view of the lake. Awesome fire pit at night. Plenty of room in the house.
My family & I vacationed here for spring break & loved every minute of it. The house had plenty of room & everything we needed. We had a fire every night next to the lake. The kids had so much fun kayaking in the lake & fishing. What a great vacation. We can't wait to come again.
