Lattice House is the ultimate tropical villa. Set in a 60 acre private reserve, 3 minutes above beautiful Playa Hermosa, surrounded by jungle, you will enjoy spectacular ocean views from every room, the decks, and the infinity pool.
Enjoy its unique Bali modern architecture, and custom-designed finishes and furnishings, all imported from Bali. Lattice House was built and has been lovingly maintained as my home, and you will feel as though it is your own private paradise for your stay.
You will have an onsite manager/concierge and an onsite chef to take care of your ground transportation, activities, catered meals, and restaurant reservations, so that you can spend all your time just relaxing and enjoying your stay.
Lattice House is conveniently located half-way between Dominical and Uvita, right off the coast highway. You won’t have to spend your valuable vacation time driving up and down mountain roads to enjoy incredible views and privacy. The reserve encompasses large park-like spaces, orchards, and jungle, with trails leading to numerous streams and waterfalls. In any direction, you see only white water coastline, mountains, or rain forest. On any given day, you may see and hear howler and white-face monkeys, coaties, tayras, agouties, sloths, toucans, aracaries, hummingbirds, parrots, and dozens of other bird species, all from the house decks.
Lattice House is a spectacular place, and I am happy to share it with our guests.
The master king bedroom, one queen bedroom and two full baths are on the main level; two bedrooms (one queen, two twins or one king) and a full bath are on the lower level. There are two sofas in the living room that can be used as additional beds.
Lattice House has all the amenities you expect in a luxury home and much more: partially covered total infinity pool with heated jacuzzi; four covered patios and decks; air conditioning in all the bedrooms; slate and marble floors and bathrooms; lattice work and hardwoods from Bali; outdoor master bath with copper soaking tub; lower floor walk-in outdoor shower; copper and stone sinks; fully equipped, stainless steel kitchen; beautiful furnishings, artwork and accessories.

Our family had a fantastic stay at this beautiful house. Close to so many fun activities. Ana was the best concierge and arranged everything for us. She had so much patience with our large family group and several changes we had to make. We all completely enjoyed 2 dinners cooked by Alexandra. Couldn't recommend more highly!

Ana became our go-to person and she was fabulous! She arranged our ground transportation from/to San Jose airport. One person was delayed and Ana was quick to make arrangements for them. They were scared riding alone, but Ana assured them they were in safe hands. She arranged for Alexandra’s crew to prepare our first meal, it was exactly what we needed. Ana arranged for our car rental, massages, tour activities, wrote up an itinerary and messaged us before each activity. Anything we needed Ana was just a message away! Thank you, Ana!
The House is spectacular with plenty of space to yourself or to come together. The view was beautiful, whether relaxing in the pool or hot tub or on the deck, taking in the scenery and sounds of nature. Bring good binoculars and be prepared to share with animals and insects. Recommend ziplock bags for food.
The outdoor showers were a favorite!
The hike to the Waterfall is strenuous, walking sticks and good hiking shoes recommended.
Use insect repellent (especially on the tours)!

Lattice House provided the trip of a lifetime. It was an incredible house. The property was meticulously maintained, beautiful yard and pool and the view was out of this world. It was 2 minutes to Playa Hermosa and is by far the best beach. You can rent an umbrella and loungers at the beach and the kids took surf lessons or you can rent a board. Ana helped plan surf lessons, horseback riding on the beach, ATV tours and the private chef. The private chef was great. The meals were delicious and she left the leftovers in the fridge. Everything was seamless and Ana was prompt in any responses - she even scheduled a rental car to be dropped off at the property and booked us a car to and from the airport. She was fantastic. A true vacation of a lifetime. There is not one negative thing I could say about this stay. It is a must for a true stay in tropical paradise.

Six family members stayed at this AMAZING house for 11 nights. The views take your breath away. What we enjoyed the most was having some drinks in the infinity pool while watching Toucans, monkeys and other wildlife roam about the property. There was plenty of room. In fact we didn't even use one of the bedrooms. We had Alexandra cook 5 dinners and 3 breakfasts for us. That might be my biggest recommendation. We found the prices of going out to dinner to be the same as in the U.S. However we received a better value (and food) from Alexandra. We ate out on the deck most nights. There is always a little stress we feel when vacationing outside our country but Ana and Angie completely removed any and all stress! They had the rental car delivered to the house, they made dinner reservations, help design excursions and then sent reminders of what the days activity was with directions. They also scheduled two massages for the women who said they were terrific. We went on the ATV jungle tour, Osa canopy tour and went to the Manuel Antonio National Park. All HIGHLY recommended! I was nervous at first driving in a different country but found it extremely easy. We split time between Uvita and downtown Dominical which are right on the main road. 4x4 is an absolute must if your dinner reservations lead you to Bar Jolly Roger or Gusto and Scala. Thank you so much for sharing your amazing house with us! You helped create memories my family will never forget!

We had such an amazing time at Lattice House. It really is a special place. I honestly cannot think of anything that could have improved our stay. We were so enthralled by the amount of wildlife on the property, the incredible landscaping and views. The outdoor showers were such a cool experience and its hard to be home and enclosed! Ana has got to be one of the most welcoming humans I have ever met. She was so incredibly nice and added so much to our stay by showing us the house, giving us such valuable information, and always being available for questions and help with anything that comes up. We also very much appreciated the security on the property and staff living on site. I know of several people who had their rentals broken into in this area so it gave us peace of mind to have excellent security in place. The cooking staff was also top notch and we enjoyed the food SO much. They were so kind and everything was perfect. We also very much appreciated the laundry room with so many extra towels and robes as it would take days for things to dry. We kept talking about how the pool was the nicest we have ever swam in. Everything was perfectly clean, comfortable, and the kitchen had literally everything you could need. Sibu Cafe, Scala and the Gastro Park were favorite restaurants in the area. Playa Hermosa was the perfect beach to relax and boogie board/surf at and they have lifeguards! It was a vacation we will remember forever!

Gorgeous Balinese house that blends perfectly into its mountaintop jungle setting and boasts spectacular views, ocean surround sound, and amazing wildlife. It was the perfect week-long vacation setting for us and our well-travelled daughter and two grandsons (ages 8 and 9), who pronounced this their favorite vacation ever. Beaches, horse riding, and other activities are nearby, but we found it hard to leave this amazing place between all the nature walks, constant wildlife appearances, infinity pool and hot tub, outside showers, on-site massages, and the amazing kitchen crew. Alexandra, Juan, and Naca were an amazing team that kept us extremely well-fed--breakfast and dinner--all week long. Ana provded all manner of local concierge support--so affable and responsive. Owner Pat--from Texas--also passed on superb advice from afar. Everything about our Lattice House stay couldn't have been more perfect ... many thanks to Pat and her incredible team!

From the moment we saw Lattice House on VRBO we fell in love. Little did we know that the actual experience would surpass everyone’s expectations. We travelled with our children and grand daughter to our favorite place on earth: Costa Rica. Lattice House is a spectacular property; easy to find off Rte 34, convenient to everything but special in a way that leaves you with unforgettable memories. Our stay at the Lattice House exceeded our expectations! It is a beautiful property in a great location. The hike to the waterfall was a highlight. The property manager, Ana, was very helpful and took care of all our needs. The meals cooked by the private chef were delicious. There isn’t enough words to describe the incredible experience we had while staying at the Lattice House. The grounds were immaculate, and the amount of wildlife we saw on the property was amazing. We had so many fun experiences animal watching everyday we decided to name all our little friends we saw. Can’t forget to mention the hike to the waterfall on the property. Such a fun adventure!

The staff was exceptional. Ana is top notch and made this entire trip smooth for us. She was always in communication and very quick to reply if we ever needed anything like directions or suggestions for beaches etc.
Alexandra’s cooking was fantastic. We loved having her come in and cook us meals. We even added on an extra day because we enjoyed her cooking more than going out.
I don’t think any other trip can compare to the experiences we had here. My family and I have memories that will last a life time!

My wife and I’ve been to a lot of places, and have rented many vrbo properties. This was by far the best one. You simply will not believe this place. Between the massive grounds to the amazing house, you cannot help but be impressed. You hear all of the sounds of the rainforest at all times because you are basically in one. Unobstructed view of the ocean and Whale’s Tail. Completely safe with 2 guards on property. Ana is great to work with while there, and will help with anything you may need. Great house for a group, but also perfect if you just want seclusion. Look no further!

Paradise!
At the risk of sounding like a worn out cliche I can't think of a more appropriate word to describe Lattice House. We have just returned from eight glorious days there and Pat (the owner) has graciously asked if there is anything I can think of to improve the experience. After a lot of thought I came up empty.
Lots of positives though:
1: The location midway between Uvita and Domenical is excellent, beautiful beaches great shopping and restaurants.
2: Ana the concierge is amazing, incredibly attentive, thoughtful and full of terrific suggestions for activities and side trips and apparently able to arrange just about anything.
3: The house itself is nothing short of stunning. There were six of us and we barely made a dent in the available space. It is beautifully appointed inside and out which is important because the Costa Rican climate means that inside and outside are virtually synonymous. The pool/Jacuzzi area, and outside shower were big standouts for me. It's hard to imagine anyone not falling in love with this place.

The house was in very clean and everything was in working condition, the jacuzzi was in perfect working condition and got hot very quick, which was a huge bonus. The beds were comfortable, sheets were soft.
Toucans and monkeys visited us daily…

Hands down our best vacation ever. The Lattice House is amazing. Wonderful layout, abundantly equipped with all you need. AC in bed rooms and ability to have “open air” throughout with a multitude of aptly placed sliding doors and windows. The wildlife and landscaping on the property is like a fairy tale. We saw coati, pecari, exotic lizards and frogs, monkeys, toucans, and other exotic birds in the back yard! The view from the back deck is amazing. The kids had a blast in the pool. The locals are the most wonderful people and the culture is absolutely beautiful.
The house manager, Ana, did an amazing job helping us plan our trip, and it truly wouldn’t have been the same without her support and input. It was much appreciated for first-time CR visitors like us.
The Uvita/Dominical area is wonderful. Although I’d like to see other parts of CR, it would be tough for me to pass up what I know is wonderful when we book our next trip. Plenty of markets, restaurants, shopping, activities, and glorious nature nearby. Not too crowded from tourists either.
We would 100% recommend this house and we have full intentions of returning again to stay at Lattice House in the future.
Be warned…. During and after your stay, you will most likely want to move to CR :). It’s a place like no other. Pura Vida!!!!

Our family of four, including two older teens, was overjoyed to call Lattice House our home for the last six nights. The home itself is stunning, perfectly outfitted, and somehow luxurious in every way without being overstated. The bird-watching on the property was fantastic. The call of howler monkeys from above and below the house kept us on the lookout for mammals as well. While we didn't see the monkeys, we did see multiple agouti and coati every day.
It was remarkably easy to work with Anna, the property manager, both before and during the trip. She arranged for a driver from the airport and had the rental car dropped off at the house. Additionally, we had Alexandria cook dinner for us on two evenings. Both were exceptional meals. Anna also recommended and arranged our activities.
We were already fans of the Uvita region and had been looking for a truly relaxing escape from which to revisit the area. Lattice House more than delivered. We can't wait to return.

Our time at the Lattice House was (most likely) the best vacation my wife and I have had. We were there with two other couples (friends from our Church - First Presbyterian of Oceanside) and had a blast. It was the first time in CR for all of us. The staff was amazing, and Ana went above and beyond for us. I left my prescription sunglasses at the house when we left last Saturday. I contacted her and not only did she find them, but went to DHL to ship them to me. We had two meal prepared for us and were great! Spent most of our time enjoying the pool and all of its amazing views. There were tons of wild animals to observe and photograph. It was quite the "show" every day, right outside our backyard. We went to two restaurants (one in Uvita and the other north towards Domicial) called the Beehive and La Parcela. I highly recommend both. Go to La Parcela for a sunset meal, as all tables have an ocean view. Great value too. Had a lobster plate special that included three (yes three) whole grilled lobsters for $38 USD. Crazy good. Cannot say enough about how wonderful of a time we had at this property! Thanks so much, everyone (Pat, Ana, etc.) for an unforgettable week in paradise.

We were family of 6 and we stayed at Lattice House from Dec. 19-26, 2022. The communication was excellent with Pat (the owner) and Ana (the property manager). Ana made all the arrangements from transportation from/to San Jose, tours, rental car, surfing lessons, chef and restaurant reservations. Our time at Lattice house was truly a vacation. One BIG pleasant surprise for us was that there were no mosquitoes or flies at the house or at the beach. We brought bug sprays that we did not even use.
Lattice House is a beautiful property. Everyday we used the pool. We loved the outdoor showers – just felt part of nature. The chef, Anne, was very good and we ate most of the dinners at home. We had the best view, best food and perfect time together. I recommend hiking to the waterfall (we hiked 3 times there). It is so magical where it seemed like our own private waterfall where we can swim. It was just pure magic. For anyone visiting Lattice House, I would recommend closed-toe hiking sandals (to hike to waterfall and swim) and open-toe hiking sandals for the beach.
All of us would recommend Lattice House for its beauty, comfort and totally worry-free vacation.

Amazingly beautiful!
The best family vacation we've ever had mostly due to the Lattice House and the property. All 6 of us enjoyed the entire space (indoors and outdoors). The hiking trail to the waterfall and pools on the property was the perfect day trip and we didn't even have to get in the car. The host and concierge, Ana, had impeccable communication during the lead up to our trip and throughout our stay. We plan to revisit in the future for sure! Thanks Pat and Ana!

This was our 2nd time coming to the Lattice house and it was amazing. The view is incredible and we love how close it is to dominical, playa hermosa, and uvita. The house has everything you need and we enjoyed going for walks on the property and to the waterfall. The Happiest Place in the World!
It is hard to find words to express how much my family enjoyed our stay at Lattice House the week of March 5-12. We had high expectations from the website, but the real house exceeded those. It was stunning!
The view down the coast is a 10 out of 10! I have done architectural design for thirty-five years, and found Lattice House exceptionally well planned and situated on the property. The seventy-five acres shared by only two houses provided a wonderful sense of privacy; while one of our favorite activities of a busy week was the hike to the waterfall on your website. What a beautiful place!
Ana, the property manager, was a delight with whom to work, coordinating our dinner arrangements and the numerous activities of our grandchildren. These included zip-lining at Hacienda Baru, two private surfing lessons in Dominical, and a horseback ride to Nauyaca Falls. When we weren't out, Alexandra's cooking at Lattice House was restaurant quality and reasonably priced. My family looked forward to the dinners and breakfasts her staff prepared during our stay.
We will be returning to the Ballena Coast with some regularity in the coming years, and definitely plan on making Lattice House our accommodation

Villa is absolutely fantastic! The view from terace is breathtaking.
Nature is also fantastic there-seems to live in the jungle.

Amazing way to enjoy Costa Rica!
Our group of 9 friends enjoyed absolutely everything about our friends’ getaway here. The house is as beautiful as all of the pictures, and there was nothing missing to make the stay any better. The house was sparkling clean, the bedrooms spacious and comfortable, it was quiet except for the sounds of the animals, and Ana could not be any more helpful or responsive. Having her help makes it easy to enjoy the best of the area. The food prepared by the chef upon our request was always fresh and delicious, and the ease of having a few dinners served at the house was most welcome. We have zero complaints and all hope to return for a future trip.

A perfect vacation spot
Lattice House was terrific. The pictures in the listing give a great representation of the immaculate decor and design of the house, including the amazing pool and view. Ana was terrific in helping us plan everything before we arrived and was incredibly responsive to anything we needed during our week-long visit. Alexandra made 3 dinners/breakfasts that were fabulous and made those days incredibly easy for us. Ana arranged for a rental car to be delivered to the house upon our arrival which made exploring the surrounding towns, beaches, and activities very easy. We will never forget our time lounging in the infinity pool soaking in the view. We heartily recommend staying at Lattice House as it will exceed your expectations in every way.

Amazing Property In Paradise
Our stay was absolutely amazing. The property itself was unbelievable!! We could of spent the entire time on property & never left! However, it was in the perfect location to explore the little cities around, the different beaches & national parks. Ana, the property manager was great! She made everything so easy for us from transportation, answering any questions we had, setting up dinners, check-in & check-out. There is no question that we will be back!!

Perfect Rental House
The view, the location, the cleanliness, and the comfort of the Lattice House alone would be enough to rate this with 5 stars, but I want to take a second to talk about the house manager Ana. This woman is by far the best rental house manager I’ve ever dealt with, and I’ve dealt with a lot. She always responded immediately and answered every one of my many questions. Being that I booked this trip with Covid still an issue, it was not as simple a trip as we usually take. Ana made sure I knew all of the travel requirements both to and from Costa Rica, and told me exactly what needed to be done to be tested before re-entering the states. She set up a driver to pick us up at the airport and bring us to the lattice house, and on our return day to bring us to the Covid testing site and then on to the airport. She also set up a rental car for us which was dropped off the morning after our arrival and I can’t emphasize enough how much hassle that saved me. (Alamo dropped the car off in the driveway on our first full day of vacation, and at the end of our vacation all we had to do was leave the key in the car for them to pick it up…..SO much better than returning it near the airport and taking a shuttle.) Ana also set us up with a home-cooked meal that was waiting upon our arrival. After a 5 hour flight that got delayed another 4 hours, plus the 4 hour car ride from the airport to the house, you can imagine how welcoming that meal was when we arrived. Not to mention, delicious.
The house itself is amazing, which is obvious from the pictures. We were in the pool and the hot tub constantly, and used the soaking tub a couple nights as well. The bedrooms were very comfortable, we never even used the AC, the ceiling fan and the breeze from all of the screen doors and windows was enough.
Since we were there during the rainy season, one of my favorite features was that part of the back deck and part of the pool/hot tub are covered by the roof so we were able to hang out on the porch and even go in the pool during heavy rains.
The location is perfect as it is right in between Uvita and Dominical. You are only a few minutes drive into either town. The two grocery stores in Uvita are maybe 5 minutes away and you can get to any number of restaurants in less than 10 minutes (Beehive, Scala, Sibu, Jolly Roger, Ballena Bistro, Pizza Time, La Parcela, Fuego, Phat Noodle…just to name our favorites.)
Do yourself a favor, rent this house, you won’t be disappointed.

Great home base for the area
Rented for my family of 5 for a week and everyone loved the house. A great location to see everything the area has to offer. In a short time it felt like home and just staying in some days and enjoying the property was awesome. I definitely recommend having Alexandra make a couple meals also, they were a highlight. I also can’t say enough about how great Ana is at making sure you’re stay is great and making so many of the arrangements for us.

Exceeded our expectations in every way!
Staying at Lattice House was like a dream vacation! The house itself is crafted so beautifully and artistically. The flow of indoor to outdoor is lovely! Ana was INCREDIBLE and helped us with arrival, shuttle, rental car, activities, meals, covid tests, recommendations and so much more! She was always available for questions and any of our needs. The pool and the view were so dreamy! The air conditioned rooms were a plus. We LOVED the outdoor shower and everyone wanted a turn! Alexandra and her staff prepared the most delicious and beautiful meals. We especially loved the setting being surrounded by the jungle and wildlife. The only thing about the house to be aware of is that the downstairs bedrooms are in a separate locked apartment. And if the main house is locked at night, then it makes it difficult to access. This would be important if you were traveling with small children but was not a problem for us at all. Costa Rica was one of our favorite places to visit! This was our first time and we hope to have many more opportunities to return! Thank you Ana, Pat, Alexandra and the Lattice House staff for helping to create this dream vacation for our family!!!

Amazing
first time in costa rica and I'm so happy we chose this house. It was easy to get to all the beaches, towns, restaurants, and stores. The property is amazing and having hiking trails and an orchard on site was really cool. The house has everything you can think of for cooking which was nice since we like to stay in and cook. Having Ana near by was great she was a huge help when we had a problem with our rental car. She called and took care of it for us. She also gave us great directions to buy fresh seafood from a local fisherman ! The house has a binder with all the different restaurants and beaches with directions that was very helpful. I highly recommend the car service that drives you to the house from the airport and then have the rental car dropped off at the house. Less stressful for sure that way. The design of the house was really cool and the outdoor shower was great especially when we could see monkeys passing by. I cant wait to go back. This was by far the best vacation ever.

Wonderful house in perfect location
Our family had a wonderful time at Lattice House. The house is beautiful, with wonderful views and a great location between Dominical and Uvita. Our young children (9, 7 and 5) loved swimming in the pool from sunrise to sunset! Ana was a great help, arranging transportation from the airport, the rental car and CoVid tests for our return to the US. Having food cooked by Alexandra made for relaxing evenings at home, especially on the evening of our arrival. It was a wonderful and relaxing vacation.

Lattice House getaway
Our experience at Lattice House was better than anticipated. The house is fabulous and like other comments, believe it or not, the pictures do not do it justice! We enjoyed the meals by Alexandra, especially the empanadas. The hike to the waterfall was a bit scary! We walked between the tides at Bellerena National Park which was awesome and had a great kayaking experience with Dominical Adventures arranged through the house manager, Ana, Communication with Ana as easy and really helped us.
We highly recommend Scala and Jolly Rogers because they are close and have great views. The food at Scala is upscale but not too pricey while the wings at Jolly Rogers were shockingly delicious!
Overall, the trio to Costa Rica and our stay at Lattice House was top notch! We WILL be back!!

The connection with nature, the solitude, the beauty, the easy access to activities when we actually decided to leave the property, the amazing owner and staff. I have never felt more connected than I did here. We stayed for 10 days and loved every second. Try to do 10 days at a minimum here. While there are ample opportunities for activities such as whale watching, ATV tours, restaurants, hikes, etc., by far the best part is just sitting on the deck overlooking the ocean and relaxing. We woke to howler monkeys every morning. A pair of scarlet macaws stopped by daily. Toucans were everywhere. We named our friendly coadi, Chester. Even the bugs are beautiful. The photos online do not do it justice. Don't stay anywhere else.

Loved it, amazing property
Location, Location, Location! We stayed from Dec 26 2020 until January 5th 2021 with friends and family. This home has so many wonderful amenities. It was spotlessly cleaned, and the condition of the house has always been kept up to high standards. The home has an amazing deck, pool & view, BBQ, indoor and outdoor dining, rooms are spacious and very comfortable Everyone in our party has enjoyed the fabulous location for walking to the beach, trails and visiting the waterfall located inside the property. Being close to the Uvita & Domical has been a bonus. The Lattice house personnel have been very accommodating whenever needed. Their customer service has been A+. My family, friends and I have already discussed planning another trip to.
Be sure to have Alexandra spoil you with her cooking, hired her for New Year’s dinner and breakfast and she ended up giving my daughter cooking lessons on Costs Rican empanadas.

Amazing home in a secluded parc with see view
Fantastic home, from the architect design to the location in private wonderful parc. All inside is perfect and hight quality. Was clearly a wining combination for us.
