This house has become our favorite place to stay in Charlevoix. The location can’t be better- steps to the beach and a quick walk into town. The front porch is our favorite spot for morning coffee and evening cocktails.
Great communication from the hosts and all around a lovely stay. We already booked our return trip for next summer!

The best indicator of quality in a person or property is what happens when there is a hiccup. This property was as-advertised when we arrived. It may even undersell itself regarding location. The view to Lake Michigan through the park and trees and the sound of breaking waves when the surf is up bring instant relaxation and contentment.
We were missing a small item and contacted the owners. They replied quickly and graciously, several times, to assure we had what we needed. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality.

We rented this cottage for an annual girls trip and it was perfect! Directly across the street from the beach and a short walk to town, restaurants and shopping. Very clean and tidy. Extremely well stocked - with everything from kitchen and bathroom essentials to beach chairs and towels. We especially loved the sun room front porch to relax with a cocktail and play games. The host was very quick to answer questions. We would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the responsiveness of the property owner to our questions during our stay.

The house was perfect for our family to stay in and enjoy Charlevoix while here for a wedding. The kids enjoyed the beach and library - both within easy toddler walking distances. All of Charlevoix is easily accessible from here and we really enjoyed our time. My one qualm (and not enough to lower the rating) is that the hairdryer doesn’t have warm air and that was kind of a bummer getting ready for a wedding! Also, the sheets were a struggle to get on as they were too small for one of the queen beds. These were small things though and we’d stay here again.

Close to town and beach. Able to walk to both.it’s an older home but it was everything we needed.

Perfect location. Lots of room, very clean. All beds, linens and towels very nice. Rebooking.

This was our second year in a row at this cottage and we really enjoy how easily our grown kids (and grandkids) fit in the house when we are up together. Love the front porch and rear deck, and everyone enjoys having Lake Michigan just a short walk away. Host are great with communication and super easy check-in and check-out.

The house was located within walking distance of both the beach and downtown area. We are a family of five and there was plenty of space to spread out in both sleeping and seating areas House was clean and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable.
Would highly recommend staying here to family and friends!

My husband is from Michigan and most of his family still lives there. My mom has never been to Michigan so I wanted to treat her to a trip and my in-laws suggested Charlevoix. My in-laws came with us so we wanted a house that could accommodate everyone (including my 5 year old son). The location was wonderful and the house was very accommodating. The beds were comfortable enough, there were fans for most of the rooms, and there were plenty of books and toys for my son. The only bummer was that the walk down to the beach included quite a few steep steps. For most of us it was fine and the beach was wonderful, but my mom is disabled so she wasn't able to enjoy that benefit. But the beach is easily accessible with just a short 5 min drive, so overall we loved the place and may just have to come back :)

We enjoyed our stay very much! The home is beautiful, charming and perfect for a family. Loved the game room and two full bathrooms! Location couldn’t be better.

This lovely home is in a superb Charlevoix location. Lake view thru the trees at the park across the street, short stroll to both a beach park and downtown, and adjacent to several mushroom houses! Be sure to take a mushroom house tour, charming and informative.

We hosted extended family from the West Coast to share with them the best that Northern Michigan has to offer. This cottage was the perfect getaway spot. With views of the Lake Michigan sunset and the ability to walk to downtown Charlevoix and the harbor, it had all the cozy comforts of home - especially the screen porch and back deck. The hosts were easy to reach and made booking and check in a breeze. We will be back!

My family and I (2 adults, 5 kids) rented this property for a week in August 2022. Everything was very clean, has a vintage cottage charm, and had the perfect location. The check-in was easy, and the kids were eager to scamper across the street to the beach as soon as we arrived. The location really can’t be beat, and we walked to eat, to Mass on Sunday, and spent a rainy day at the exceptional library around the corner.
The only suggestions we have: place a window AC unit in every bedroom (the bunk room lacked one, and the top bunk is the place that needs it most), totally functioning electrical outlets (I plugged in my phone overnight only to realize in the morning that it hadn’t charged and tested to make sure it wasn’t the charger) and to have a high chair with straps to secure a child safely (the provided high chair had no straps). Also, important for parents would be that the pack and play padding creates divots which could be dangerous for a small baby, and I’d recommend bringing your own for ease (we DIY shimmed it). Also, having sheets already on the bed would have been nice after a long journey.
That said, none of these suggestions significantly detracted from our stay, and we had a very pleasant time at the cottage. I also thought the cottage was a good value for its location, compared to other properties, and we would recommend it to others.

Great location and perfect sized cottage for spending time with our kids and grandkids “up north”. We all enjoyed the beach across the street, but I think we equally enjoyed the time on the front porch and back deck. Definitely would come back in the future.

I love everything about this house. We mainly hang out on the porch when we are not on the each or walking into town. The sunsets are spectacular and the water is easily reachable down the rustic steps. The hosts are fabulous and have outfitted the home with everything you need.

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay during our vacation to Charlevoix. The proximity to everything was fantastic. We literally walked everywhere, which with 4 little kids was quite the feet without anyone complaining. The home is older and thus there are quirks about it, but it was perfect for our family. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Outstanding location on Lake Michigan and walking distance to beautiful downtown Charlevoix. We had family and good friends visit and between the incredible front porch and the spacious rear deck it was easy to relax and enjoy the cooler summer weather.

Excellent Charlevoix location
We had a great week staying in Charlevoix. The location was perfect and the listing was as described. We had more than enough room for our family and friends and really enjoyed being able to walk to the beach, through the neighbourhoods and downtown for shopping and restaurants. The MSU furniture on the deck was also a fun surprise for this alum ;)

We very much enjoyed our time in Charlevoix. My husband was able to get a few days in surfing. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook for our crew. If guests are staying in the winter- I do recommend adding extra blankets to the beds. The upstairs is not. As well heated as downstairs. We were all comfortable once a layer was added.

Amazing from start to finish
This property in Charlevoix was amazing. It was so clean, well labeled, and the location can’t be beat. It was perfect for a long weekend getaway with the family and six-month-old. Pet friendly which was a must. Property owners and managers were extremely informative and very helpful. Everything went better than expected and we couldn’t be more happy with the rental. We look forward to visiting again sometime! Excellent hosts!

Vintage Charm
This lovely cottage has all the modern amenities with the vintage charm of slower summer days. The front porch is the perfect place to sit together to listen to the waves of Lake Michigan. The beach, stunning sunsets and petoskey stone hunting are just steps away. Surrounded by the mushroom houses, the neighborhood is quintessential Charlevoix! The hosts are the best, responsive, accommodating and kind.

We enjoyed a lovely weekend at this home. The house was clean, well appointed and has a great location directly across the street from the lake and a short walk from town. Morning coffee on the enclosed porch was tranquil.

Terrific location. Well furnished and equipped cottage. Very comfortable stay.

We've traveled to northern Michigan numerous times, but this was our first time staying for a full week and we couldn't have made a better choice of a place to stay. The house has the look and feel of an old-time vacation home -- which of course it is -- but has been equipped with up-to-date appliances and all the amenities and equipment that one could possibly need.
Since there were just two of us in a house that can sleep 10 we never lacked for space, but among other things we appreciated the good lighting throughout as well as the room air conditioners (although we only needed them a couple of times). The porch was also a great place to relax toward the end of the day or to enjoy a cup of coffee in the mornings.
What we enjoyed the most, however, was simply the location. Right across the street are stairs leading down to what was effectively a "private beach" that was perfect for enjoying the lake. And with all that, it was only a flat 7-minute walk to downtown Charlevoix with its numerous shopping and dining venues. The neighborhood is also very quiet with just a bit of vehicle and pedestrian traffic during the day.
The rental experience was the best we've had on VRBO, with quick responses from the hosts to our pre-trip questions. The house was ready when we got there to let ourselves in and was clean and in good working order. A week later we checked out per instructions and were on our way home, but I'm sure that we'll be returning here in the future!
