About this house rental
Lake House “Nines”
Affectionately dubbed the “Nines,” this term refers to the two-story wall of 9 windows overlooking the Middle Pea Porridge Pond. It’s an architectural feature that not only allows light to fill every corner of the house, but also provides stunning water views from virtually everywhere inside. Whether you’re standing at the stove cooking, relaxing at the dining room table, sitting on the couch, or reading your favorite book by a roaring fire, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the water.
We grew up vacationing in Eidelweiss Village and adopted it as an annual vacation spot with our children. We rented numerous houses over the course of 10 years, but always found ourselves seeking something more. This house has everything we’ve ever dreamed of: our own private beach, a wide open layout, amazing water views (100 feet of waterfront on a very private cove), central air conditioning, a deck overlooking the water, an outdoor patio & fire pit, an outdoor shower to rinse off sandy feet, a wood-burning fireplace…. Also, this house is one of the newest waterfront houses in Eidelweiss, constructed in 2006 with a built-in dehumidifier system on the lower level.
This 2,850 sq. ft. house has 3 levels with 2 bedrooms on the top floor and 2 bedrooms on the lower level. Every bedroom faces the water. This house is ideal for one to two families interested in relaxing in a tranquil environment.
To enhance your experience we have a pool table, foosball table, 2 tandem kayaks, a canoe, a stand up paddle board, a hammock overlooking the water and a private swimming raft.
Some of our favorite summer activities in the area include: swimming, canoeing & kayaking in a safe environment (no motor boats are permitted in Eidelweiss) and fishing in the lake. When we leave Eidelweiss, we enjoy visiting Storyland (25 mins), waterslides at Whale’s Tale (1 hour), shopping at the North Conway Outlets (15 mins), swimming off the Kancamagus highway in the river (15 mins), tubing on the Saco River, hiking, mini golf at Pirate’s Cove, Lost River (1 Hour) and Santa’s Village (1¼ hours).
In the winter, fun activities include skiing at Attitash (25 mins), Cranmore (15 mins), Cranmore also has tubing, Bretton Woods (1 hour), Loon (1 hour), Wildcat Mountain (45 minutes), and King Pine (15 mins). King Pine also has ice skating on a groomed rink, snowshoeing and tubing.

We had a great time and are returning next year.
one thing we would like is more security for the garbage bins. We had a bear rooting through the trash one night and raccoon's two nights running. Firewood on the top of trash cans doesn't cut it.

Awesome two weeks with family. Everything we needed was there and more. We will be back next year. Thank you for great memories!!!

We had our family reunion in this lake house for father's day weekend. We love the fireplace, the boating and well equipped kitchen to cook family meals! The lake is so calm and beautiful! It made our memories again! Thank you Michaela!

This was our second stay at The Nines, great house in a great location. Right on the lake, 10-15 minute drive to North Conway, Cranmore and 25-30 minute drive to Attitash. Excellent place for families looking to ski, shop, and enjoy NH in winter or summer

We were delighted with our stay at the Nines. The house is spacious, clean, and well appointed. The living space is open and allows for perfect casual gatherings. The beach is small in terms of actual lake frontage, but it’s clean, private, and there is a dock to swim out to that has chairs and a table built in to it. Never seen that before and we put that to very good use! We spent our days lounging, kayaking, and paddle boarding, all available as part of the rental. Our family has been vacationing on pea porridge pond for decades at a house that is no longer accepting rentals. We’re relieved to know the tradition can continue in such a lovely space on the same lake we’ve come to consider our second home. We’ll be back!

We enjoyed a lovely family vacation (4 couples and a toddler) at this beautiful lakefront home. We loved having the sandy beach on the property which was perfect to let the little one play, and we loved all the water toys for the adults! The larger association beach is only a short walk away and is also very nice. Be aware that the walk down to the waterfront is a little steep if you have mobility issues, though it was not a problem for any of us. We found the home to be to be as described in the listing. (If I had any suggestions at all, it would be to add one or two more chairs for the kitchen table and maybe even add a picnic table for the beautiful outdoor patio.) I highly recommend this home as it currently is, and we hope to return another year.

The home was just as promised. The view was lovely and the location is very quiet. We loved that motorized boats were not allowed on the water; it made swimming, kayaking and canoeing that much more comfortable and safe. Very close to Michaela's home is a public beach that was very accessible and was perfect for me since I had just suffered an injury. It also would be a change of venue for someone with young children, though the beach at the home was lovely and our young children enjoyed it very much. Michaela was also a very responsive and kind host.

Love this house!
This house is perfect for a family or several couples! With 4 bedrooms, 3 baths and an open concept kitchen-dining and living area it couldn’t be more perfect! It is very clean and has all the amenities! The owners are accessible should you need anything which is really nice! Only a short ride to North Conway for skiing and other activities! This is our second time staying here and we will be renting it again for sure!

Family vaca at the 9s
The location was wonderful, close drive to Conway and North Conway. The pond was awesome and having the kayaks, paddleboard and canoe was so much fun, the whole family loved spending time on the water. The house is nice, the windows give a beautiful view of the water. The house was minimally decorated but spacious and served our needs. We stayed with the whole extended family and made great memories! The owners were easy to get in touch with and were helpful, even providing local restaurant suggestions. Thank you!

Amazing!
This is our second year staying at the nines and we will be booking again next year. We love this lake getaway with such a gorgeous house and lake. The views are beautiful!
We had two families each with two children as well as my in-laws (10total) and there was more then enough room for us.
The house was very clean and had everything we needed for the week. The private beach is lovely (especially for the kids!) and we made great use of the kayaks and floats.
Highly recommend this place. Michaela is a great host.
Can’t wait to come back again next year!

Great family getaway
Everything was wonderful and as described. Beautiful pond, kayaking and fishing were most enjoyable. Exceptional view from the living area. Only suggestion would be to give the back yard a little love. Other than than that, would recommend!!

Fantastic property
First thing we noticed was how clean everything was. Heat was fantastic. Very wide open so comfortable for a big group. Stayed in the winter but would love to try it in the summer. Overall, very nice rental!

Great waterfront rental
Really enjoyed our Fall getaway at the Nines! Spot was private even though in a neighborhood, and so much space both in house and in the back areas. Michaela was great with communication, the check-in info very detailed and easy. Would be a great summer rental to take full advantage of pond in warmer weather!

Anniversary get away
Michaela made this easy to rent and made herself available for any questions. The property had a full kitchen (easy for our big breakfasts). Grill for dinner also available. We were able to have fun inside with games (big tables and sofa). Also enjoyed the lake and the beautiful scenery from the nice big windows! Great time. Can’t wait to go back.

This house was a New England dream come true
The nines exceeded our expectation. The lake was so calm, it seems like it was our own private Destiination. We will definitely be back and I completely recommend it to anyone that wants to get away and really enjoy New Hampshire

The perfect family getaway in the White Mountain area!
The Nines was everything is was advertised to be and more! Our family had a fantastic stay at this scenic and well-equipped property. The house itself was spacious and meticulously kept. The pond was peaceful and quiet-- the perfect getaway. We made excellent use of the canoe, tubes, and float while we were there, and our kids had a blast. The public beach was a short paddle away, and offered another fun place to explore. The calls of the loons were haunting, and the stars at night were breathtaking. Michaela was accomodating and immediately responsive to any questions we had. We can't wait to be back next summer!

Exactly what we were hoping for
The house was just what we needed. We were traveling with our family of four (two boys, ages 11 and 6) and my mother in-law (age 81). The house served us all well. The boys had the ground level to themselves; toys stayed downstairs out of the main living area. The house had all supplies necessary: kitchen, laundry, fire pit and fire place, wood, all the outdoor equipment anyone could want (canoe, 2 double kayaks, all paddles, vests, tubes, and the swim raft). The pond was a great place for relaxation, no worries about motorized boats zipping by. The private beach and subtle walk into the pond was perfect for the boys. The location was better than expected; no more than 20 minutes from Conway (shops, outlets, restaurants, etc.), Kancamagus Highway, Diana’s Baths, Rt. 302, about 1 hour from Mount Washington. After a day out adventure the house offered a night of relaxing whether on the pond or with a fire. The Nines was a great way to end our summer.

Even better than expected
The pictures/description undersell this beautiful property. Inside, the house was well appointed-great kitchen (with sharp chef's knives(!) as well as complete cookware/appliances); comfortable furniture/beds, and plenty of space. So many windows allowed for a lovely breeze. The outdoor space was amazing - with the private beach and a floating dock in addition to the other amenities. Michaela was very responsive before and during the trip. And the house is in a lovely neighborhood with a playground and close to North Conway. Very convenient for climbing, hiking, and exploring. Great for a family (or 2). Because of the pandemic, we planned to re-clean with our own supplies upon arrival, but the house was sparkling clean and with the windows there was good ventilation - very comfortable staying here at this time. I'm looking forward to returning next year.

Best NH lake/pond vacation ever!
Overall an outstanding experience. Highlights include:
- the pond! Crystal clear water, right off the backyard beach!. No motor boats and perfect for swimming. We also got a lot of use Kayaks and canoes, swim tubes, etc.
- swim raft - dedicated to the house, about 100 ft into the water. Kids spent hours hanging out around or on the raft and playing all sorts of fun games
- house - clean, newer house - nothing that didn’t work or was disappointing. Great deck overlooking the pond, all rooms with great views.
- backyard - hammock, patio, outdoor shower with hot and cold water (I showered outside 6 of the 7 days), fire pit - all outstanding
- neighborhood - nice quiet neighborhood, dirt roads, great for taking long walks and an outstanding workout on a mountain hybrid bike.
Everyone said on the last day that we should try to come back to this exact place again, maybe even make it a tradition.
- location - Conway and North Conway were 15-20 mins away with lots of dining and shopping options as well as other tourist attractions. So we didn’t struggle to find takeout options at all, and also spent some time shopping at the outlets.
Only suggestion I provided to the owner was to consider upsizing the beds - rooms are all large enough to accommodate one size larger bed. We knew that going in, so we weren’t surprised - just a suggestion that would improve the experience even further.

This was our third year running! Great property for a family vacation with two young granddaughters! So good we have requested another week in 2021

Ski weekend
We had a great stay at the “nines” the views were beautiful! Plenty of room for the 3 teens to sleep and stay busy on lower level. Well stocked kitchen, pots, pans, dishes and flatware. My only recommendation would be to have some sand or kitty litter with you if going during winter. There was snowfall and even with driveway being plowed one of our cars was a bit of a struggle to get out of the driveway. Easy ride to both KingPine(15mins) and Cranmore(25mins) Would stay again.

Fun Family vacation at the nines
Loved the private beach (a bit overgrown). Thoroughly enjoyed the kayaks and the raft. House was spacious with limited supplies. Downstairs bedrooms had a funky smell.

Amazing well kept home
We rented Lake House Nines for 7 nights in August 2019 for our annual lake house retreat with our children and grandchildren. This truly is an amazing beautiful and spacious home in a really private setting on a wonderful lake(fisherman take note: lots of largemouth action) We have a family of eight and there was plenty of space for all. Check in was super smooth and easy and Michaela was readily available to answer any questions we may have had. The interior of the home was super clean, the grill was super clean and very efficient and easy to use, all appliances were in working order. We literally had nothing to complain about in the interior of this home! Michaela left us plenty of propane! We had plenty of firewood for fire pit at night. Everything you need for a truly fun escape and vacation is there for your use. Of course nothing is perfect right? We did have a few issues with the exterior of the home. The exterior of the home needs some TLC, the spider webs were really bad and it could use a power wash of the siding and soffits, (which would pretty much take care of the spiders and the spider webs 😉) lastly, the vegetation as you head down to the lake on both sides and in front of patio area is really starting to grow wildly and taking over the property. We would definitely suggest getting that landscaped and groomed. Other than that I would definitely recommend this home for some wonderful memories with your family and/or friends and I would love to rent again next year!

We had a wonderful time at “The Nines” home. It worked out perfectly. Being on a small pond and having access to two kayaks and a canoe was great.

Great waterfront property
We stayed here for a long weekend - 3 families with kids. The house was clean and perfect for us. We enjoyed using the firepit, kayaks, and canoe- so nice that there were plenty of kid life jackets. We hope to come back again next year!

Great Beach
We have been renting homes for the past 10 years from coast to coast. Our family of 7 adults and 2 grandchildren (ages 2 and 5) had a great time in your Madison beach house . The sandy beach and kayaks were the favorites. It was so easy to get into the kayaks from the beach. Even the grandparents were able to use them. Since there were nine people and all meals were made at the house. There were only 3 dishwasher pods and 2 liners in the garbage pails when we arrived. The grandchildren enjoyed make s'mores in the fire pit and fireplace. A good time was had by all. Recommend you provide more cleaning supplies so future renters can protect your property. We bought cleaning supplies and toilet paper. VRBO is over pricing fees which will kill potential renters and hurt home owners.

Our third most enjoyable stay at The Nines!! Superb!!
We feel extremely fortunate to have discovered this treasure of a lake house. This has been our third family reunion there and it has been perfect. The house accommodated all 10 of us comfortably (well, it could use an additional bathroom downstairs) and has parking for four, even five, cars. Grandparents in the big main suite, and parents and kids all have their own corners which they like. When we came the house was extra clean and ready for us. Kitchen is well equipped and convenient. Large dining room table seats 10! Kids have games and the large living room is perfect for enjoyment and celebration. Remember to bring your own sheets and towels (blankets are provided) but you can use their excellent washer and dryer downstairs. We were surprised to find a third kayak this time in addition to the canoe and kayak we had last year. Most of all we loved the privacy of the beach and its prize asset - the raft!!!! The lake itself is most friendly with a couple of loons, very private and quiet, and a pleasure to wake up to, take the boat out, relax, enjoy the blue and green all around. Our vote again: 10!!!!

Very impressive
We had a great week at the Nines. Our two granddaughters loved the beach and the boats were great. The swimming platform was a real plus. We particularly like the fact that there was enough dishes that we did not have to wash up after every meal. The floor plan was perfect with the parents and kids downstairs.
We enjoyed it so much we booked it again for 2019

Private yet close to many attractions!
This was a perfect vacation home for our family including 3 couples and their children! We loved daily swimming, watching the loons, kayaking at dawn and dusk, fishing off the dock, enjoying a campfire in the backyard, and reading in the hammock. We also spent time visiting North Conway, Storyland, Saco River, etc for quick day trips.
There was plenty of room for the whole family to spread out. The whole main floor was a great gathering space for us while the lower and upper floors were perfect for providing breakaway spaces.
The small things were noticed and appreciated - from the floaties provided to the clothesline off the side of the house, from the raked beach to the games for kids, from the provided bedroom fans to the blinds in every room for privacy, etc. These small things made for a fantastic week!
My only disappointment was that when the 9 of us had dinner together, there wasn't enough space or chairs to eat around the table together.
