Big open floor plan with excellent views of the bay. Sunsets are incredible. Excellent for a getaway

This house has a great location and lovely views on the water, but should not be allowed to be on the rental market in its current condition. It is filthy and dirty full of mildew that will hit you as soon as you enter. We asked to be moved but the nearest option was 2 1/2 hours away which was not acceptable. The house needs a deep cleaning!!! The furniture and flooring were stained, there were dirty cups in the cabinets, cobwebs everywhere and you couldn’t escape the mildew. There were two dehumidifiers in the basement, one piped into a drain and one not. A Vacasa representative was there as we arrived and didn’t empty, so we did. Within 12 hours, the 5 gallon tank was full again. Until this home is brought up to speed, I would suggest not waist your money renting this house. The house could be very nice if cleaned and deferred maintenance was preformed.

This house has great views, a nice dock and was in a good location in Boothbay. The basement was musty; it cleared out a bit by the end of our stay, but with an older home that’s rented I would think the owners would provide a permanent fix. The basement also needed more than one dehumidifier - it was humid and moist for our full stay, so the upstairs was the only enjoyable area.

The vista and the privacy

The house was nicely equipped, beds were comfortable, view of bay nice. Not pedestrian or bike friendly, however, and the photos don't show how far down it is to the water.

Beautiful home with a real mid-century feel. Location in a beautiful cove on Linekin Bay. Quiet and secluded.

Overall, everything was lovely- beautiful water front property, well stocked (games, puzzles, books, kitchenware) and lovely artwork too! There are some quirks about an older waterfront home- a bit musty and damp indoors.

A great spot for relaxing, enjoying the water and visiting Boothbay and the Mid Coast. We enjoyed the deck, the views, the dock, fully equipped kitchen and bbq. Don’t miss the Botanical Gardens, Reid State Park, Five Islands Lobster and sailing the Sarah Mead with Sail Muscongus

The property was perfect - and the views from the porch and dock were amazing. We really enjoyed our stay. We went to Coastal Botanical Gardens to see the trolls, walked along the end of Ocean Point Road and admired the views, had a delicious lobster roll at the Lobsterman's Wharf and pizza from Boothbay Harbor House of Pizza. Not great response from the property manager (Vacasa) but other than that, we would recommend this spot.

Cleaners didn't remove trash from previous renters and trash storage area is built into the house by the kitchen. We had to deal with a horrible trash smell for most of the week.
Also, we booked on VRBO but all correspondence came from Vacasa. I don't remember every paying such huge fees and would think they could at least clean, t as ke out the trash and make sure the toilet bowl kids were attached. Yes, when we showed up one of the kids want attached.

This is a great location in a private setting. You can fish off the dock or be "in town" in a matter of minutes. This is our second time staying in this house and it won't be our last!

Quiet Maine Getaway
The private dock was awesome! Lay down there and look up at the stars, it’s amazing. You get the best of both worlds here, being in the woods and waterfront. Yes the walk down to the dock is slightly physically challenging, but it’s worth it! Everything was in working order and we had everything we needed. My brother said he would come back here with friends. It’s a short drive to the town of Boothbay Harbor for all your shopping and restaurants-although there are some just down the street also. Also just down the road is Ocean Point which is great views, looking for sea glass and enjoying the sunset. Take a walk to the Damariscotta River from the nature preserve trail. It really was a great location. Is the house a little outdated? Yeah, but the dishwasher works and so does everything else! Other reviewers mentioned the mustiness but it wasn’t an issue for us. I didn’t mind emptying the dehumidifier either. If you want a 5 star resort feel then go elsewhere and pay the big bucks. This place was cozy and affordable. I have no complaints!

Amazing stay
Such a beautiful, clean home. We where so excited when we walked through the doors and sad to leave. There was so much privacy and the surrounding town is adorable. Thank you providing such an amazing home to relax and have a great stay! I hope to find myself back here in the future.

Peaceful spot
Wonderful location. Great deck. Nicely stocked kitchen. Short wooded walk to dock and float. We spotted a lobster and many crabs.

Nice House
The house was well located to do all things in the Boothbay area. The lower bedrooms had a musty smell but clean and there was a dehumidifier. The bathrooms had some mold in the showers. There was plenty of towels and wash cloths. We tend to be very busy all day and eat out a couple of times while we travel but we also like to cook in a few nights. The kitchen had everything you need in terms of tools and dishes. My only comment is there was a coffee machine but no coffee pot. We are not a fan of the single serve coffee so this was an issue for us. The very best thing about the house was the view. You cannot be unhappy when you wake up to the beautiful water.

Mostly great
Well provisioned, ample space, quiet, great view of the bay. Lower level is damp this time of year despite running the dehumidifiers. Really nice place that could have used a little more attention this time ahead of our arrival.

E. Boothbay 2021
Our family had an awesome time. The house was in a great location. Lots to do. We loved the open floor plan layout, deck and the dock. My negatives are - when we first entered, it smelt musty - it helped by opening windows. The basement (where 2 bedrooms are) dehumidifier ran constantly. The house was overall clean but dated. A few areas could use deep cleaning. All in all it was worth it and we would stay there again.

Classic summer family house
Enjoyed our stay!
Staying here felt like being at a relative’s summer house, stocked with every amenity you could possibly need - a kitchen with multiple sets of dishes, pots, pans, a closet full of spices, books, puzzles and games, extra pillows and bedding, plenty of seating area, pull-out couches, etc. The most attractive part of the house is the flow of the upstairs living room and kitchen, with floor to ceiling glass doors to look out over backyard and Linekin Bay.
Try not to arrive here for the first time at night, since a quirky feature is that there are lots of steps in places that you don’t expect. When you open the front door you’re presented with 2 steps leading to the kitchen, 2 to the living room and the staircase leading to the lower level. There’s also a step up to the bathroom, which you will inevitably trip over at some point.

Perfect getaway in a beautiful home and Privaye dock ♡
I loved the private dock, the open concept house layout, the beautiful woodwork and ceilings. It was secluded and private. Exactly what I was looking for

A wonderful retreat!
The property has everything you could possibly need and is in a wonderful location. Although the home is a little older, we were very comfortable. It was a wonderful retreat for our family of three!

Ideal original Maine vacation home with picturesque view.
Great view through the glass ocean facing wall. This house was built in 1990 and has been maintained if not upgraded much (The Bosch dishwasher is an exception). Everything worked well enough. Internet was a little tricky sometimes and some windows are in need of a little love. East Boothbay is a charming coastal village. 5 minute drive from all essentials (Hannafords). The kids enjoyed it. We would rent here again for sure.

Great view
We manage vacation rentals in Hawaii so we know what to expect. I was extremely surprised to see how clean the house was as a have a high standard. The bed was comfortable as well as the whole house. Enjoyed seeing some local wild life on the property and walking through the woods down to the dock. We would rent here again. Aloha and Mahalo

Relaxing stay
Great home with charme. Great location, nice views. All you need was there, a dishwasher was missed in the beginning, but wasn‘t really a problem . We all enjoyed our stay very much.

Perfect vacation location
Loved the setting. The view of the bay, the proximity to one of the best seafood restaurants and the nostalgia. It's a short drive form Booothbay and 3 miles from the supermarket. Because of its woodsy location, have plenty of bug repellent on hand.

Secluded retreat
The house was lovely. The view was nice. It was great to see the ocean from the dock down the hill at the house. In July or August I could have gone for a quick swim off the dock. My only negative is the bedrooms in the basement are musty.

Beautiful, peaceful.Near so many attractions yet cozy and private.Well equipped kitchen.en
This lovely home has plenty of room with Windows on both levels to view the water. We had a lot of private space as well as two living areas on both floors and a deck with dining table as well as lounging chairs. We spent a lot of time on the dock sunning ourselves. It was an absolutely perfect fall week in Maine. We took advantage of so many nearby preserves to hike. The aquarium and botanical gardens in Boothbay were so pleasant. The volunteers at the aquarium were a blast.
Did I mention lobster?
Had a problem figuring out how the master bath shower worked but a call to the caretaker brought him here in a few minutes!
Only wish a kayak was here for use. We found none for rent. That was the biggest reason I chose this location.

5 of us got together here this past weekend. It is often difficult to believe everything you see on the internet, however I felt that the pictures and descriptions were accurate. This house is a great place to relax.

Relaxing and inspired house in the treetops
Great house for 2-5 people. Could do two more on downstairs couches. Upstairs living area is amazing. Deck runs the length of the house with four doors to access. View of the bay is so relaxing and inspiring. Path to the pier is a bit long and would be hard for anyone who has mobility issues, but once you are on the dock, great place to fish from and sunbathe (bring down one of the easy to carry folding chairs!). We loved the games provided and cooked from the family style kitchen that we never turned on the TV. Wifi was fine. East Boothbay General Store: beer, wine, great pizza, fun breakfast sandwiches, lattes in the morning. Tidal Kayak rental (did it twice it was so much fun, but beware, paddling the long tour (2 plus hours) out to Burnt Island is tough for those not in decent shape - shorter options are also fun). Balmy Days II to Monhegan Island well worth it if you like hiking easy to hard trails for four hours (make reservations and get to Pier 8 thirty minutes before boarding to get a seat up top and in the sun). Knickerbocker Lake if you like lake swimming and fishing from a dock. Any of the Preserves for hiking (we did Ocean Point (easy) and Linekin (hard)). Best lobster roll (whole lobster plus for weight): Shannons Unshelled by Tidal kayak rental in BB Harbor. If you want to swim or boat from this house, not really the right house. Great though to use as a base for Boothbay Harbor region and go hiking, kayaking, and swimming in the areas suggested and then come back to Linekin Lookout to relax, reflect, and recharge.

Not at all what we expected
The pictures were very deceiving.
This house is not suitable for young children or guest with hip, knee or ankle problems much less if you were committed to a wheelchair.
There are multiple levels to the house with the main floor bathroom even having a step down.
There are only baseboard heaters.
No extra blankets.
If you use the fireplace, smoke will fill the lower level.
The dehumidifier ran constantly.
The only TV is on the lower level and is only 32"
The appliances are old and it is very hard to read the setting.
The magazines on the coffe table were dated from 2007.
There is not a dedicated path down to the dock.
To top it off "they" want you to start a load of towels in the washer before you depart.
I have stayed at many properties listed with VRBO and I would NOT recommend this property.
