Exquisite 2 Bedrooms Apt in the Center of Latin Quarter : Best Deal for 6
About this apartment rental
Located in the very center of the Latin Quarter, close to the famous Panthéon, charming Place de la Contrescarpe, Sorbonne University, Saint Germain and the gorgeous Luxembourg gardens, this apartment offers a unique opportunity: • It is an exceptional deal: the apartment was designed with extra care to comfortably sleep up to 6 guests (2 queen beds and a comfortable sofa bed). • The apt is located in a stone building constructed in the 1800s. It is on the 3rd floor and offers a nice view above the square. The building was fully refurbished and redesigned by an architect in 2016. Two other similar apartments are available in the building in addition to the two extra ones of same area designed for 4 guests (including a sofa bed). The owners have preserved the traditional French apartment style with the beautifully exposed wooden beams. The apartment is super functional. They have also preserved the elegant French terra cotta tiled floor with a variation of colour and thickness in certain parts of the apartment. This floor style dates back to around 150 years, if not more, and is of great historical significance. The apt location is a perfect base to visit Paris: based in the heart of the old Paris, in the Latin Quarter, facing Notre Dame, it is a very lively area. Walk to “Rue Mouffetard” & “place de la Contrescarpe” to have an outside dinner, stroll in the nearby and beautiful “Jardin du Luxembourg”, “Jardin des Plantes” or “Arenes de Lutece”, visit the trendy Ile Saint Louis, Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Cluny Museum of Medieval Arts, the Pantheon, the Sorbonne university, le “Paradis Latin” Cabaret and the Saint Germain area. They are all steps away. Stroll along the banks of the Seine, enjoy a drink on one of the many barges or dance Tango in the “Tino Rossi” square in summer before going to the Marais where are the best clothes shops of Paris. All at walking distance. It stands 10 minutes by subway to most interesting Paris locations AND is a very charming area to be appreciated after a whole day shopping and walking through museums. One finds plenty of restaurants, shops, cinemas and many nearby cultural sites to visit. Right down the building are located many shops, restaurants, bakeries, delies and more. We advise to try “Les Pipos” restaurant, typical traditional French food. More about the apartment… On entering the apartment, one is greeted by a small corridor that serves the bathroom to the right, and leads to the living room area. To take advantage of the light and volume, the architect has designed a great concept: • During the day, opening the 2 sliding doors create a unique large living space with two windows above the square. The light coming from both windows make the whole area most welcoming and spacious • During the night, guests can profit from 3 separate, private sleeping areas. The Living room offers a large double glazed window that bathes it in natural light. It opens on the charming Place de L’Ecole Polytechnique which offers various terraces. No building blocks the view: it is open on the Rue de la Montagne Sainte Genevieve, and the famous and beautiful courtyard of the Ecole Polytechnique (host to many international conferences of researchers). The living room offers a comfortable sofa bed and a center table, chair and lights. Wall is decorated with frames. The TV is fixed above the kitchen bar a convenient location to watch it from the sofa bed. On the right of the sofa is located an open kitchen bar with stools. It is integrated into the living area and gives an impression of openness. The kitchen is fully equipped for preparing simple meals. The bedroom with sliding doors offers a high quality queen size bed, a large closet and a large window on the square. Obviously complete privacy may be obtained by sliding the doors. Through the kitchen, one can access the second bedroom. This bedroom also offers a very good quality queen size bed with closet, a mini office table and a window that overlooks the building courtyard. Once again it is furnished with quality equipment and decorated with frame. The bathroom located at the entrance, is fully tiled and modernly decorated. It offers a large semi-enclosed shower, a vanity area and a toilette. For information : As a bonus, Phone calls to land lines in France, and to US, Canada and Australia are generally free. Close to two Metro stops on M10. Easy walk to Notre Dame. Great neighborhood with lots of restaurants, bakeries, and an outdoor market three days a week.
Unit was clean and stocked with the necessities.
“Lively” neighborhood was very noisy during the week until 2:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. on the weekend. The back bedroom was quiet, but even with windows closed, the front bedroom was very noisy.
Washer/dryer are not in the unit, but in a shared space in the utility room. Stairs are narrow, uneven, and turning, so keep this in mind if you have any mobility issues.

The apartment is a wonderful space to be after a long day. Plenty roomy with beautiful windows that allow you to take in the gorgeous neighborhood with a glimpse of Notre Dame. I would absolutely stay here again!

The location of this apartment is fantastic. Right above a couple cafes and on the same street as handful of great restaurants, bars, a mid-sized grocery store, and kabab house. It's also less than a mile walk to Notre Dame and 2-3 blocks from the start of Rue Mouffetard (lots of shopping, restaurants, cafes, etc.).
The interior of the apartment is as advertized. Nice layout, good size for european flats. The beds are pretty comfortable. The only feedback is the pillows are pretty bad (very, very flat).
Our only issue was our vacation coincided with an aweful heat wave in Paris, with temperatures at 95-degrees farenheit during the day........which meant a low of 80+ degrees farenheit at night. This made being in the apartment pretty diffucult as it does not have air conditioning. The owners provided four (4) fans and we went out and bought two (2) more fans, but it was still really, really hot. I would have liked if the owners would have provided a portable air conditioner to help, but it was ok.
If the weather in Paris is not too hot, this apartment is perfect! I would recommend to anyone.

This property was a nice 2 bedroom plus pull out couch that worked well for our family of 5. The kitchen was tight but was well equipped and had everything we needed (no oven but we didn’t need one). The restaurant below was open most nights until 2am and the sound definitely drifted up as it was too hot to close windows. We were mostly able to sleep through it, but if you’re an early to bed or light sleeper, consider ear plugs. The location was great with close access to cafes, restaurants and a couple small grocery stores. We could see Notre Dame from our window. There are multiple “Cosy” apartments in this building and we were able to coordinate booking two other groups into other apartments. A great stay in Paris.

The location of this apartment is AWESOME. There are a ton of restaurants and bars just downstairs/around the corner. But speaking of the stairs, please be aware that the stairs going up to the unit are tight and steep! Apartment was perfect size for 3 of us. Uber easily picks up right outside of the unit. Easy check in and out.

We enjoyed our stay. The apartment was clean and had plenty of supplies. Loved the nightlife from the cafe below and the live music. Walking distance to the Seine, Pantheon, and Notre Dame and subway station. Plentiful food options within steps.

Apartment needs more seating in common area, and you should alert people about the stairs. It is difficult to carry suitcases up and down safely and without disturbing other guests.

Thus was a great place for our family yo stay wimhile on vacation. Close to good places to eat, comfortable accommodations, good internet and easy to access.

We only spent 3 nights in this apartment, but they were over the weekend and it was extremely noisy due to the cafe/bars below. The blackout curtains do very little for the noise. The walls were very thin and we could hear everything in the apartments above and below. The pillows were flat and limited (1 per person per bed) - in fact everything felt very utilitarian with minimal towels, soap, etc. The laundry was not in the apartment, but down multiple flights of stairs. The instructions were so detailed and they talked about not being too noisy, but it was ironic do to how noisy the streets were, even at 2 am with drunken singing. We loved the convenience of the restaurants. The place was also very clean and tidy. If you’re OK with noise, then this place will be no problem.

The unit was spotless and as seen in the photos. Beds were really comfortable. Really nice bathroom and functional kitchen area for making coffee or tea and making snacks. Communication was good. Had an issue when we first arrived but was taken care of pretty quickly. Location is really great and love being across the street from Les Pipos (probably my favorite restaurant in Paris!) As was noted, there is a lot of noise from the bars below. We stayed 4 nights and the first two were ok, the 3rd and 4th (on the weekend) were pretty loud until the wee hours of the morning. If you are going to be out really late, no worries but just something to be aware of. My kids are teens so wasn't a big issue but could be for younger families.

This was certainly one of the loveliest places we've ever stayed in Paris. It was convenient to many sights and in a neighborhood of great cafes . It was very spacious for Paris. We loved it. That being said we had a difficult situation via email about "the contract". We were already traveling when we got this request and had difficulty getting this straigthened out, however we did and the directions for entering were clear and helpful and that part of the process was easy. The stairs were a bit more of a challenge than we expected. We were on the third floor. They were winding, steep and narrow. One other wish for this VRBO is to have a list of recommendations for restaurants, etc.and it lacked a regular coffee pot. I'd still give it 4 stars.

The location in the Latin Quarter was very convenient for us. However, the apartment itself is quite small, so just be aware. We were a group of four, and though we fit, there was no space for sitting if you didn't also use the beds for seating space. The spiral staircase to get to the third floor was challenging--steps themselves are not an issue for anyone in our group, but these steps are very old--uneven and quite narrow. Just be prepared! Also, we were aware that the location was directly above a popular eating/drinking place. Not a problem, but on Friday night, the noise--conversations, singing, and occasional fireworks!--continued until 5:39am. All in all, a good stay, but you'll want to think carefully about whether this location works if you are a family with children.

The property was very clean and we loved the location.

Very nice Appartment, the 4 beds (incl sofabed) perfect, the location very centric.
Now, as long as the restaurants below on the street are not forced to send home their clients after 2am it is impossible to sleep until 5sm. At 8am the heavy Restauration works of the ecole polytechnique start and I guess these works will last at least until 2023.
So in order to sleep with closed windows a air condition is mandatory. I always prefer fresh air, but in this case there is no other alternative and due to its great and centric location I understand the investment would be great for everyone!!
Except this "issue" we would definitely repeat in upcoming years.
Best & many thanks!

Overall, this apartment is located in a great location with many restaurants to choose from and walking distance to Notre Dame. Unfortunately, the apartment wasn't very clean and my son and I both got head colds from the dust that was literally flying around the flat when we opened the windows. Communication wasn't great when we checked in on a Saturday. Our Wifi wasn't working and it took several hours for the host to respond as they said it was the weekend so they don't check their emails that often. Also, the amenities were very disappointing. There was no toilet paper, paper towels, or even a sponge to wash our dishes with. When I contacted the host about just getting some toilet paper as that is pretty essential to a rental, I was told that these things are "consumables" and are the responsibility of the tenant. I've stayed at many apartment vacation rentals and toilet paper is pretty standard. Again, this place was in a great location, but if you stay here, be prepared to head to the nearest store to pick up basic supplies as soon as you check in.

The apartment was in an amazing location and was very nice for our family of 5. We loved the neighborhood and our hosts were extremely helpful. Would definitely return

We enjoyed our stay at this apartment. The beds were comfortable and space was roomy enough for four. The stairs were challenging but we overcame that. Location was good. We enjoyed the open market just a short walk away. The only downside was the noise from the restaurants below. It didn't help that there was a football championship that weekend. Thanks for your hospitality.

Has a wonderful stay at cozy 3. The location was good and had easy access to metro and walking. It was lovely to be outside of the main tourist areas so we saw more of Paris but still so easy to get to everything and had plenty of cafe options nearby. It was small by US standards but worked well for our family of 4. Would recommend!

We loved our time in the Latin Quarter. The property was everything we hoped for. Check in/out were very easy. The location is absolutely amazing. Its an easy walk to so many of Paris's great sites and for some of the further ones, there are metro's close. It was so fun to open the windows and listen to all the actively in the square below. We will definitely be back.

This is a great apartment in a great location. Five minute walk to Mètro Maubert Mutualitié, 10 minute walk to ND de Paris. The apartment is clean, and well kept with a great view of the city. The owner was responsive and very helpful. My daughter and I had a fantastic time.

We spent one week experiencing Paris, and this apt was a dream. Plenty of space for the 3 of us, and it was easy to get around and see everything. Loved the location, the neighborhood, and the variety of dining options. Do try Le Petit Cafe below apt...excellent food and friendly staff. The staircase to our 3rd floor cosy was interesting to navigate! Would definitely stay here again! Merci!

Good property in between the quaintness of the Mouffetard and the grandness of the Pantheon and surrounds. Very much a student area.A little more warning to bring earplugs if you want to sleep with the windows open as there are a couple of very busy bar/ restaurants below, but we enjoyed this area and the easy access to the rest of Paris.

The location of the apartment is not great but it is not bad. Its close to the market so theres access to lots of restaurants and stores. However, the first floor of the apartment has a restaurant/bar which is next to two other restaurants/bars that open at night. It is very loud at night and you would have to close the windows in order to sleep, and there is no air-conditioning in the apartment. Its a good thing it wasnt too hot when we were there. The property manager warns renters about the noise of climbing up and down the stairs, moving chairs, etc. in the apartment, but outside, its very loud at night. Its three blocks from the metro uphill and the apartment has a very narrow, steep circular staircase. Not good for the elderly or families with small children and lots of luggage or people with health problems. The apartment has a nice view from where we stayed. The bathroom was not well cleaned when we checked-in and the drain for the shower did not work properly. I think it is a bit overpriced.

We loved the location of this apartment - it provided us with a real Paris feel - loads of restaurants, cafes and markets. But - if it is hot out - this is not a great choice. We were there for the heat wave and Paris cooled down at night so we had our windows open (there is no air conditioning). There are multiple cafes and clubs that close at 2 AM in the square and people congregate right outside this building once the clubs close. It is so loud! It goes beyond city noise - we had groups of people breaking into song, clapping, shouting - until 5 AM, which is when the sun rises.I recommend this location and apartment - but for colder months. The owner has thick velvet lined drapes to cut the noise when the windows are closed - which is great for cooler months.
